Hey @ButterscotchBabe! Continuing our chat here 😁

I loooove that your temps did exactly what mine did too. So good that AF hasn't arrived at CD26!! Happy for you! When your temps increased last month, was it is to a gradual high or did it jump up again and then AF started? Because if this pattern is new, it could mean good news!

Ours definitely look like the beginning of a triphasic chart. My temps last month started dropping at 7DPO, so it still being high at 9DPO is such an achievement for me and no sign of AF either although my vulva feels AF'y in a weird way. My pulse and breathing rate have also continued to shoot up!! If temps don't tell you AF is coming, pulse rate defo will because it always starts falling a few days before AF for me.

I do suspect chemical but no BFP so can't confirm and nothing else changed that cycle so I can't explain it. Hormones were defo the reason I never took the pill, it plays such a big part in changing your reproductive cycle that of course it would have an affect on cycles after you come off them! 45 day cycles sound like a nightmare - especially when TTC too.

I do have a FRER! I'm always so scared to use it though. I always use rubbish ICs which probably aren't the best thing but I will use my FRER with you!

I like predicting what my temps will do with DH. What do you think will happen tomorrow? I think both our temps will go up again 😆

Oh no, it looks like it's dropping quite early. I hate that we know our bodies enough to predict if AF is coming. I'm sorry in advance 😔 But I am really curious to see how clomid will affect your chart. We'll have to celebrate when you have your first 12+ day LP and your first 36.8+ temp. Are you still going to DTD lots next cycle or take a break and wait for the clomid?

I'm feeling quite disappointed today. My nipples are less sore so my progesterone must be dropping which means AF is right around the corner for me too. I don't want to be sad because we were taking a break this cycle but it sucks that it still didn't happen, even when we relaxed. I don't think I'm going to test this cycle unfortunately. There's no point. How did you feel when you passed your 6 month mark TTC? I feel like a statistic. And not a good one 😔

I wonder how much we've contributed to the NHS. We'd have to get our monies worth. If you can get IVF on the NHS then you'd definitely be using up as much as you've put in. When we've reached a year TTC maybe we'll go for it too. Let's hope that we meet the criteria and the waiting list isn't too long.

The consultant said DH and I are highly likely to conceive but it just doesn't feel like it. There could be hidden things wrong with us. I just don't believe low sperm count and low progesterone are the only things we're battling with. I just feel so hopeless! I don't even think the pessaries will work! 😫 I'm not usually a negative person but I just don't think it'll happen for me 😭

Hehe, I'll have to train the rabbits to not chew things and poop everywhere. Rabbits apparently don't like perfume, so I'll spray things I want to protect in some cheap perfume and hopefully they won't chew on them. I can't wait to live with them though!

Haha you should punish your DP 😈 What does he currently do all day? Yeah, I would say DH does get too consumed in work. It can be annoying when I want his attention. BTW, I sent you a message on LinkedIn for a role DH is recruiting in. If your DP is still looking, maybe he'd be interested in it.

Temp has come down again ☹️ so expecting af in the next couple of days. How are you feeling today?

No I haven't posted anything non TTC related, I was tempted to make a post about Mumsnet etiquette, one of my pet hates is people jumping on someone else's post and asking questions about themselves!

Yes we are very lucky to have the NHS but we do pay for it with our taxes, so definitely use it if you need to. Our consultant said we would be eligible for NHS funded IVF so if it gets to that, we could easily swap over. However if there's a long waiting list we may have to pay for it.

I guess we'd only know our egg quality if we couldn't get pregnant and had to do IVF, then they'd know if the sperm and egg struggled to make an embryo. That would be devastating to have poor egg quality because I don't think there's anything you can do to improve that.

No more cramping for me and no other symptoms at all! PMS-monster 😂😂 oh dear! Well very soon you'll either have a BFP or af so the PMS symptoms won't last much longer. Of course if you get a BFP then I'm sure you won't mind symptoms! Do you have an IC you could use tomorrow? That way if you don't see a line then you don't need to waste a FRER but if you see something then you can confirm it with a FRER?

Yay how exciting! Aww the rabbits will be living in the house before you will!

That's a shame about the dress, can you take a pic before you leave? Or maybe you can find a nice spot in your new home?

DP's got a bit slack with the chores, I keep reminding him there's jobs to do 😂😂. Oh no why's he done that? That's a shame because he won't have any down time and you won't get to spend much time together. Is he a workaholic?

Haha that'd be a story for the grandkids 😂 Kidding! But it will definitely be a good story for mumsnet. Have you ever started a post on anything non-TTC related? Seeing private healthcare prices makes you appreciate the NHS. I haven't had to use it much, but if I needed serious medical help, it could easily be in the tens of thousands. Just googled how much a colposcopy with cervical biopsy costs and it's about £800 😱😱😱 and I literally got that done a few months back on the NHS!!

I'm pretty hopeful that medication will be enough for you guys too. I guess SA analysis can be a bit awkward to talk about. No one really wants to discuss their masturbation with someone else 😂 But you're right, you'll be doing a lot more than what he has to. Hopefully your scan will show a good follicle count and size but my consultant said it doesn't tell you anything about the quality of the eggs, so while we both definitely ovulate, our eggs could just be shit. Clomid should fix that for you so you're definitely in a good place to be!

Have you had anymore cramping? I haven't, but even if I did, it wouldn't mean anything. My boobs and nipples are still sore but my theory is that the vitamins I was taking suppressed quite a bit of my PMS but now that I'm off them, my body has gone full PMS-monster. CM doesn't seem to be creamy anymore but I still feel leaky. It's still white but more watery so I'm guessing AF will be starting soon 🤷‍♀️ Not sure if it's even worth testing tomorrow. I hope you can make it to Sunday though. Maybe your good news is right around the corner!

We've exchange contracts today and we'll complete tomorrow! All our funds are in so tomorrow we'll officially be homeowners!! We're moving the rabbits in tomorrow too to give them some time to adjust to the new house. They have a carrier so we'll transport them in that. I'm so excited!!

Yeaah definitely find some time to do some sewing. It's so hard finding things to do on your time off during lockdown but luckily we both have things to focus on. I never did manage to take pics of the dress 🙈

How's your DP getting on with the house chores 😂 Is he looking forward to starting his new job? My DH has decided to get himself another job to do on the weekend - working as an executive at a start up. I don't know why it's necessary and I worry he won't have time for me (and the kids) anymore 😔

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 03/03/2021 20:42

I can just imagine holding the sample and then DP slams on the breaks or goes round a corner quickly and I get covered in it 😂😂. Yes I'll be able to do the FSH and LH tests next week and for the ultrasound I'll receive an appointment by letter, so hopefully that won't be too far away. Yeh the progesterone is tricky, I'll make a decision on that next cycle when I'm closer to ovulation! Each blood test is £45, the SA is £105 and ultrasound £160, so it's quickly adding up!

I didn't ask about IVF but she mentioned it as an option further down the line but is hopeful that medication will be enough. DP hasn't really said much, whenever I mention the SA he doesn't want to talk about it, I think he's feeling a bit uncomfortable but he's gonna have to suck it up, I'll be going through a lot worse! I mentioned the OPKs and BBT monitoring, she didn't say too much but advised that short LP can indicate that I'm not ovulating. Although it's strange because the OPKs show that I am 🤷. I didn't ask about the cost of Clomid but just did a quick Google search and looks like it's around £15 for 30 pills so fairly cheap.

Yes 5DPO is when I normally get a dip but it seems my body wants to do something different this cycle 😂. The cramping was very mild, I think I only noticed it because I happened to be awake, no more cramping today.

Oooh lots of creamy cm, that's a positive sign, do you think it's more than you would usually have? I recall you mentioning creamy cm before but it sounds like it's a lot more this time! You still planning on testing on Friday? I'll probably do an IC on Saturday and a FRER on Sunday if I make it that far.

Glad you're feeling better/normal today, sometimes that's easier, it's a love/hate relationship with TWW symptoms 😂.

Yay that's great news on the mortgage! In a week's time you'll be in your new home 😀🎉🎉. How will you move the bunnies? Do you have carriers for them?

Yeh I've pretty much worn the same few clothes for the past year (most being pyjamas 😂). Nope still working on the jacket, although I haven't done for a couple of weeks, I'll try and finish it next week when I'm off. Did you manage to get some pics in the new dress you made?

Wishing you happy dreams and a peaceful night's sleep!🌜😴😴✨

Yaaaaaaaaaay!!! Your lucky DP! I read you have to keep the semen at body temperature while you go to deliver it, so you might need to hold it between your thighs (or boobs??) on your drive there if your DP is driving. Glad they're jumping right in with all the tests. You won't have to wait too long for your day 3 bloods. Day 21 bloods is a bit tricky. Even if you wait 7 days after you ovulate, that might not be when your progesterone peaks. Will you have to pay for each blood test you have?

Good news about the clomid too! Did you ask about IVF? Sounds like that's the only way you'd get the medication you want. But at least you're now two cycles away from potentially starting on clomid! Hopefully your DPs SA comes back ok so you have less to deal with. How is your DP feeling about the conversation. Is he hopeful? Did the doctor say anything about your short LP? Did you talk about your BBT charts? Did she say how much the clomid would cost? Is it pricey?

Sucks your temp went down slightly. Isn't it 5dpo where you usually get a dip? Interesting that you got a jump this time. Oh did the cramping wake you up? Was it painful? Are you still cramping?

(Sorry, I have so many questions today!)

I have loads of creamy CM today. I feel leaky and it feels like someone emptied a whole tube of thick hand cream inside me. By now CM would be sticky but my vagina feels like it's coated in cream 🥴 I think I'm going to go back through this thread to check what my CM has been like in previous cycles. Maybe it's normal.

😱😱😱 PMS on progesterone. I don't think I want to know either 😭 I hope it's the complete opposite and I have no PMS. I actually feel a bit better today. Nipples don't feel as terrible. Phew! The needle-like stabbing hasn't returned either so I'm feeling pretty normal!

Yeah, looks like everything is confirmed with the sale (or at least I hope so.) We checked our online bank account and they've added our mortgage account to it! So our mortgage deed must have been sent off and everything completed!

I've somehow managed to convince myself that I'm still going to wear clothes that I haven't worn in years so I'm keeping lots of stuff 😂😂 and you're right, lockdown hasn't helped at all! Do you find yourself living in the same clothes? Did you manage to finish your jacket project?

Aww I liked interpreting your dream! But it's good that your subconscious is at peace 😂 Maybe because you've gotten the job now! I'm not sure how I'll sleep if I'm honest. It does get easier to sleep the longer it takes for me to conceive so with that and the excitement of trying progesterone next cycle maybe that'll make me sleep easier. And yeah, I've saved my progesterone test for next cycle so hopefully the results will show the pessaries are working.

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 03/03/2021 14:33

Temp went down this morning so unfortunately not hit 36.8 yet! I woke up in the middle of the night and had some mild central cramping but probably means nothing!

So had the appointment this morning, the Doctor was really lovely, she was very calm and sweet natured. Although I did struggle to hear her sometimes because the connection was poor! So she wants to do a sperm analysis, pelvic ultrasound and a few blood tests to work out what my hormones are doing. So between CD1-CD5 I need to get a blood test for FSH and LH levels, then I need to do a 21 day progesterone test but that's difficult with my cycle so I might have to do 3, on CD17, CD19 and CD21 but it will depend when I ovulate.

She's happy to prescribe me Clomid but wants to wait until the tests have all come back so they've got a picture of what's going on. Also there's no point me taking ovulation medication if DP's sperm aren't working! I asked about Gonadotropins and she said they normally only prescribe them for IUI or IVF and they're a lot more expensive. I was hoping she'd prescribe me something to start taking in my next cycle but it makes sense to do the tests first.

So overall I'm happy with the appointment, we're gonna receive a pot in the post which DP needs to fill and then take to the hospital within an hour! Luckily we only live 20 mins away. I think DP is relieved he can do it at home and not in the hospital 😂.

Oh gosh that sounds awful, I'm surprised your boob and nipple pain is so bad with low progesterone, I wonder what it will be like when you take the progesterone pessaries 😕.

That's a strange symptom feeling like you're being stabbed by needles 😣. It's crazy what our bodies can do! I hope you're in less pain today? When is your af due?

Hmmm I'm really not sure what I'd do about contraception in 10-15 years, I guess we'll cross that bridge when it comes!

Ah cool so only 1 day left of work for you after today 😊. Yay you've got a move in date! So is everything confirmed now with the sale? Yeh I've moved loads of times and always use the opportunity to chuck out clothes I'm not wearing anymore. Although it's gonna be hard doing that now because you probably haven't worn many of your clothes because of lockdowns, not because you don't like them!

Gosh that nightmare sounds horrible, it's crazy because in the dream (nightmare) it feels so real! I haven't had anymore rememberable dreams since that one, so maybe my emotions have sorted themselves out for now 😂. Do you think you might be able to sleep better this time as af approaches? You've got progesterone to try for the next cycle and if that doesn't work then it will be almost Easter, so you'll be going back to the consultant for next steps. Hopefully it will relax you more knowing you've got a plan and are actively doing things to make a difference 🙂.

Haha I guess they've got to be fairly heavy as they need to represent a person. I'm thinking of joining a martial arts class when restrictions allow, it's good for fitness and would be good to learn self defense.

Yeh I'd try Boots or a supermarket pharmacy might be cheaper. So you've saved your other progesterone test to do next cycle?

Nothing else exciting happening really, just the job and fertility tests!

Woooo! Your temps look great!! Did you make it past 36.8 today? Maybe having higher FP temps balances out the rise but what you're looking for is a rise of 0.5 between FP and LP and I think you have that (although I don't know if it's from the lowest temp or the average temp). Also, your appointment is today!! Tell me everything! How did it go? What did you say? What did they say? I'm looking forward to this!!

I feel sorry for us all the time. Like I'll read something from previous entries like, "I have this new symptom, I wonder if it means anything" and in my head I'll be screaming, it means NOTHING! 😂 Poor us! I wish we could see if people are watching this thread. We might have to be more dramatic with our storytelling just to add some pazzazz to this thread.

Girl, you do not want sore boobs. Trust me! This cycle, they have been horrid. I'm not entirely sure what to do with them but I'm seriously wishing AF to come round quickly. Usually every cycle, they ache deeply and get really heavy and hurt when I move. Now they feel sore. Not achy. Sore. Like my breasts have been on fire. And my nipples!! My God!! My nipples 🤢 The feeling has been disgusting. It's like a sensitivity that when touched, it reverberates all the way through me. Yeah... No thanks. The fact that you can confirm ovulation every cycle is enough. You don't need this extra progesterone fuelled drama (and this is with me having low progesterone!)

Welcome to the implantation zone! Have you been feeling anything yet? Last night, I felt like I was getting stabbed by a million needles under my skin in my pelvic area. It did hurt but I was in loads of pain last cycle and that meant F all! 😂😂 So just AF gearing up ⚙️

Looool we've spoken about it and he seems to be onboard with it ✂️ The good thing is that a vasectomy is reversible but I can't imagine wanting more kids after we've had three so it'll probably stay snipped forever. What if you're 45, still fertile but you don't want anymore kids, would you use condoms?

Definitely much better hearing real life experiences. Doctors can be very insular. If it's not in a textbook somewhere, it can't be real. And how are we supposed to trust males doctors with our bodies. They may know the theory but they will never know what it feels like to menstruate or carry a child within you. Are we just supposed to take their word for it?

I'm taking my day off next Friday, so I'll be off from Friday this week to Friday next week. 🤞🤞 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully they won't keep you waiting too long before you hear back about the position. July isn't too far away so I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Nah, I think we'll pack everything ourselves. We've booked in 9th March with the movers, so this time next week, we'll be in our new home! I've packed all our clothes into bin bags and I'll probably start moving things over once we get the keys on Friday. Do you do a wardrobe clear out when you move? I'm looking to donate stuff to charity.

My sleep has been great! I'm only ever anxious during the end of my cycle when I'm apprehensive about AF starting. So I'm probably getting closer to insomnia territory again. I had a nightmare two nights ago 😱 It was full of murder and violence. I woke up to my heart racing and it took me a while to settle down. Horrible stuff! Have you still been having your weird dreams?

I'm ok with rowing machines. I'd use them over a treadmill, that's for sure. Those boxing punch bags are so hard to hit right?? I was going to represent my company in a charity boxing event and when I went for training, I tried punching the bags and they're so heavy and barely move when I hit them! Aw that sounds really fun! I'd love a boxing match! Mine got cancelled because of covid.

I'm not sure where to order the pessaries from. I wonder if I can just go into Boots pharmacy. The consultant said they were cheap, so I can't imagine them being overly expensive. Looks like it's about £1 a pessasrie. So inexpensive enough.

March definitely is shaping out to be a good month. Do you have anything exciting happening for you this month? Apart from your appointment today, which I'm looking forward to hearing about!!!

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 02/03/2021 20:24

Had a good rise this morning 😀 although my pre ovulation temps were higher this cycle, so in comparison I don't know if it is a high temp 🤔. Nothing else to report, had some creamy CM but I've had this on previous cycles so I don't think it means anything.

Haha I did look back through a while ago as I wanted to check something, I felt sorry for our old selves, as at the time we were thinking we could be pregnant! I wonder if anyone else reads this thread, it's like an ongoing story!

Do you think you'd be more concerned if you didn't have sore boobs? I'd love to have sore boobs as that would be something new and could be a sign! Although I've stopped looking out for symptoms now and am just focused on getting some treatment. It will be amazing if the progesterone pessaries do it for you, that would be a lovely easy fix 😊.

Haha does your DH know he's getting the snip? 😂😂 I don't think we'd do that, I think I'd always want the option to be there, just in case we wanted more children.

😂😂 I think Mumsnet is so useful, you can learn a lot from people's experiences, rather than reading what the human body should do in a textbook. If only we could prescribe our own treatments 😂.

If I don't get a permanent position, my assignment lasts until July so I'll have until then to find another job. Fingers crossed the budget works out okay! Have you taken your free day off you were awarded?

Yes it is surprising how long packing takes, I think most people (inc myself) don't realise how much they've accumulated 😂. Are you leaving anything for the removal men to pack?

Yes I have felt less tired today 🙂, ah that's lucky you can fall asleep as soon as your head touches the pillow, it often takes me ages, my mind starts wondering! How has your sleep been lately? Have you been able to sleep through the night?

That's good you came to a compromise, do you think you'll use the rowing machine? Oooh a boxing bag would be cool, my brother has one and at Christmas we had a go. He has two sets of boxing gloves so we also had a little boxing match 😂.

Ah I'm surprised he only gave you 15, were they expensive? So you'll be 10DPO on Friday? That's not far away! I plan on testing on Sunday if I make it to then without af!

Aww hopefully you'll get to give him a BFP, that would be so sweet 😊. It's a busy month for you with your anniversary, your DH's birthday and moving house! You'll have to go out, treat yourselves and celebrate when restrictions allow 🍹🍸🎉

How are your temps now? Have they gone back up again? Anything different in your chart apart from that dip? Yesterday, I was thinking about what my chart would be doing at 6DPO and I think it would be at about 36.64. I did decide to check CM and I have loads of creamy CM but creamy is normal for me at this point in my cycle so not much has changed there. I just can't remember what the amount in past cycles were like.

Do you sometimes go back and read through our chat to remember what your body was doing on a specific date? This is like our own private shared diary 😄😄

7 DPO and I feel nothing 😫 Sore boobs. Sore nipples. But nothing new. How about you?

No, I felt no pain from my dislodge coil. The nurse was very surprised when I told her I didn't feel anything. Maybe it broke my uterus. I don't think I'd ever use contraception either. Once we're finally done with the baby-making, DH is getting the snip ✂️ Would your DP do the same?

Hahahaa!! I would laaaaugh if you jumped in and said "well, actually, user unCliche from mumsnet said that when..." 😂😂😂 Your DP would probably ask you to stay away from mumsnet forever.

Yaaay! Congrats on getting the job. 💃🎊🎉 They got back to you very quickly! Have hope that they'll have the budget! But for them to advertise 3 roles means that they're confident that they will. If they don't what will happen? Will you look for another job?

Our move in date will be whenever we can book movers for. Hopefully it'll be some time early next week. We're still in the process of packing but I feel like it's going to take ages!
It's good to sometimes do nothing on the weekends, and at least you were able to get some rest. Are you feeling less tired now? I feel so sleepy everyday. My head touches the pillow and I'm gone 😴😂

He's planning on getting a rowing machine now. But only after we've moved into the new place. We came to a compromise, that he's only allowed one machine and a weight bench. I'm thinking about getting a boxing bag to release pent up frustration 😁 Then once we've built our outdoor gym, he can have as many equipment as he wants.

My prescription came today. It's for 15 pills so I guess it's not smart to start taking them midway through my cycle, especially if I'll need all 15 next cycle. Maybe I'll test with an FRER at 10DPO depending on what my CM is doing and if it's a BFP (which I highly doubt) then I'll speak to the consultant about whether I should take the pessaries to help with the pregnancy.

I wouldn't mind a November baby - it would be my own special birthday present 💕 And hopefully a BFP could be DH's present too.

Yes definitely a good thing to be getting earlier/more PMS symptoms, that can only mean higher progesterone! Oooh that's interesting about your cousin's friend's dream! I've heard that in early pregnancy women sometimes have pregnancy dreams before they find out but it's odd that someone you're not close to would dream that. Let's hope it's true!!

Lol yeh you're right, anything to do with women's health just doesn't get taken that seriously. Oh no, was that painful when the coil dislodged itself? I'm not sure if I'd take any contraception again, I don't mind if our children are close in age, so I'd probably only consider it if we have 3 children. I might try the natural way of avoiding DTD during fertile period, although it's a bit risky! At the moment I can't imagine a time in my life when I wouldn't want to get pregnant 😂.

Yeh I think it's quite common for the follicular phase to vary a bit but the luteal phase normally stays the same. Funny how ours both decided to do different things on this cycle!

😂😂 I think I'll wait and see what they say first and then if I don't like it, I'll step in and say what I think should happen! Not sure I can quote Mumsnet as a reliable research paper 😂😂.

So I was partly successful with the job, it's a complicated situation but basically 3 jobs were advertised, however only 2 are confirmed, the 3rd post is waiting on next year's budget announcement. So I've been offered the 3rd post, my Manager is confident it will be fine but can't confirm until the budget is known. I should find out in the next couple of weeks.

Haha a boozy zoom call sounds fun! Wow a four hour walk, you must have been tired afterwards! That's great news you managed to get some money for the rabbit enclosure 😊, have you decided what date you're gonna move in? Or are you still awaiting confirmation? My weekend was very uneventful, I was surprisingly tired on Saturday and slept most of the day. I think the busy days and interview prep wore me out!

Did you manage to stop your DH getting a treadmill? Or is he planning on getting it for the new place?

Yes! Can't wait for a week off 😀😀

unCliche · 28/02/2021 16:28

My cycle is going ok. Boobs are still sore and nipple soreness has been coming and going. More PMS symptoms can only be a good thing right? My cousin messaged me today asking if I was pregnant because her friend had a dream that I was. How random?? She's not even someone I'm that acquainted with. Do you know anyone whose dreams generally come true?

I think women should have better information about what goes inside their body. But until men choose to take responsibility for pregnancy prevention, that's just never going to happen. If you had to choose contraception again, what would you go for? I used to have the coil, but got it removed after a few weeks because it had dislodge itself.

I guess he thinks my ovulation is fine, since I ovulate regularly and my follicles look big and healthy enough. Maybe progesterone will do the job. Who knows...? Anyway, I'm leaving it to the experts because clearly anything I try never works. I haven't received the prescription yet, I'll probably get it tomorrow. If I can get to a pharmacy quickly then I'll be able to potentially start using it this cycle.

On the B-Vitamins, I always ovulated on day 14 or 15. When I came off them, this cycle, it was day 13 so they probably had zero impact on my cycle but could still potentially have an impact on yours. But I think it's hard to pinpoint reasons why things happen. It could just be that this month, your hormones wanted to relax a little before getting to work 😁 Since it's just one cycle, it might not mean anything yet. But still bring it up during your appointment.

I can definitely see a battle of wills happening during your appointment! 😂 It's going to be interesting to see what they say, especially if it's completely different to what you want. Do you plan on telling them what you want or will you ask them if you can have what you want? Might be worth having some research papers with you so you can quote the experts 😂😂 Then they'll really think you're crazy. I know my consultant already thinks I am 😁

Ah! Ok, it's the same job role! That's good then. Nothing changes for you. Yeah, a proof of concept basically shows that it can be done.

Yup! Still haven't monitored this cycle. I haven't even checked CM for a few days now. I already know I've ovulated so there's nothing else monitoring will tell me. Your temps look ok so far. I think one temp doesn't matter. If it keeps going down, then I'll start getting concerned but hopefully tomorrow, it jumps up!

I've had quite a busy weekend. On Friday, I had a boozy zoom call with old school friends. Then I went for a four hour walk yesterday with DH and our friends. Then I had to dismantle the rabbit enclosure as I had found a buyer on Facebook. I was just planning on throwing it away but glad I sold it as I got £150 for it. I guess that'll go towards DH's bday present. I'll have to spend most of today packing too. How has your weekend been? One more week until our week off!! 💃💃💃

Yeh Thursday was pretty awful with ovulation pain but since then it's been much better 🙂. No other symptoms at the moment 😂 how about you? You're 5DPO so almost in implantation territory!

Yeh the pill is a nightmare, health professionals should be more honest about how it affects your cycle. Whereas all they tell you is you can get pregnant after missing one pill!!

After thinking about it more, I'm a bit surprised your consultant prescribed progesterone and not clomid or something else to help ovulation because wasn't it him who explained that low progesterone is caused by a weak ovulation? So surely the idea would be to fix the cause of the problem, not the symptoms?

I hope the progesterone works for you, if you can get hold of it before your temp starts dropping, it could be worth taking this cycle?

I haven't taken any B vitamins yet this cycle but I was thinking about taking them. Last cycle I took them in my LP and I wonder if they are what's caused a later ovulation, maybe they took a while to kick in 🤔. However you also took them last cycle and your ovulation has come earlier?

Can you be mildly allergic to something? Maybe it's an intolerance? I like nuts with chocolate, not so keen on their own 😂. That reminds me, I need to coat some more Brazil nuts in chocolate! I don't have any allergies thankfully.

I can already anticipate there's gonna be some tension because DP's view is to let the professionals do their job and decide what's best for us, but I've done lots of research and read lots of other people's experiences, so I already know how I want it to go 😂. I can just see the consultant and DP ganging up on me!

If I get the role my job won't change, it just means the job has turned from temporary to permanent. So the busy/quiet peaks will remain the same. I'm not sure what you mean by proof of concept? Is it just to prove that it can be done?

Have you still managed to stay away from any monitoring? My temp was looking really good Fri and Sat but has come down a little this morning ☹️.

Ah that's great! I knew you'd do well. Next week will definitely be a good week for both of us! Hopefully they don't keep you waiting too long🤞 glad you feel better too - you sounded like you were really unwell!

So the pill has really messed up your cycle. 27 - 29 days is literally the perfect cycle, especially if you ovulated at a good time. Even having PMS symptoms showed your hormones were doing what they were supposed to. Can't believe how much the pill has affected your cycles. So annoying!

I was thinking about testing this cycle but I think I might wait until I start taking the progesterone pessaries to see if they're working. Yeah. I took the agnus castus for just a cycle. Apparently it's a very slow working herb so it may not have made a massive impact of my cycle. I think the B vitamins would have had the bigger affect. You've stopped taking the B vitamins right?

I think I'm mildly allergic to nuts anyway. Sometimes my throat feels tight after I've eaten nuts but I still like nuts! 😁 Do you have any allergies?

AF is due 7th for me so looks like our next cycles will start at similar times. We'll be cycle buddies again! Haha your consultant will be confused as to who is meant to be consulting with who 😂😂 hopefully you get everything you want!

Let's hope things calm down for you at work, but with the new job, will you be even busier? No, there are currently no plans to commercialise the app, plus it was just meant to be a proof of concept, that's all.

I didn't ask about my tubes but if we do get to easter and we haven't conceived we'll probably go ahead and do the additional checks. I'm planning on buying and taking the progesterone next cycle. They'll send me the prescription then I guess I'll have to buy/order the pessaries myself.

You're 1dpo. Any symptoms yet?? 😂

ButterscotchBabe · 26/02/2021 18:01

Ahh didn't see you'd sent another message!

Yay congratulations on the completion date! Oooh a chair body massager sounds amazing! Least you don't have to do it then 😂😂.

Okay so he doesn't want to check your fallopian tubes yet? That's good to know the spotting during ovulation is not a concern. Yay that's great you've got some progesterone coming! Will it arrive in time for you to take this cycle?

ButterscotchBabe · 26/02/2021 17:51

Hey how did your appointment go? Did you manage to ask everything you wanted? I hope it went well and you're happy with the consultant's suggestions.

My interview went well, I'm really pleased and think I answered everything okay! I'll find out early next week 🤞🤞. Ovulation pain has been much better today, thank god!

Before I went on the pill my cycles were 27-29 days and I do remember some boob pain. I had terrible period pain and heavy flow but don't remember having ovulation pain.

Oooh I wonder if you getting boob pain earlier means higher progesterone levels? That will be really interesting to do the test again, hopefully it will be higher! I don't really know what impact vitamins can have but lots of people have reported cycle changes after taking vitamins. How long were you taking the Agnus Castus for? I think it was only 1 cycle?

Wow that's surprising that lady got pregnant after just cutting out a food item! There are tests you can order that test for allergies or intolerances, my Dad did one but it came back with loads of stuff so I don't know how accurate they are. Could be worth trying though?! Love snickers 😋

I don't know when my af is gonna show because I haven't ovulated this late before, so if my LP is 8 days then it would be next Saturday 6th March, appointment is on 3rd March so I'll still be in my TWW. Haha I also like to be in control, so I've planned out what I want to happen, if the consultant doesn't agree then it might get awkward 😂.

Yeh my role has peaks where it's really busy (generally every quarter) and then quiet periods, we're currently at the end of a busy period! Wow that's amazing you were given a day off in recognition of your work! Is the app something your work will sell or is it something they can use to help the business?

Gosh that story is shocking, I'm surprised they kept him until he was 17, I think if I had a child like that I would have given them up for adoption a long time ago. I think evil people probably recognise they are different to others but their thoughts and actions are natural to them and so they probably don't consider themselves evil.

unCliche · 26/02/2021 16:17

How was your interview?? Really excited to hear how it went. Are you feeling better today?

We've been given a completion date for the house for 5th March, which is DHs bday! Such a great present for him and I've also decided to buy a chair body massager for him.

Spoke to my consultant and was able to ask him all the questions I wanted.

  1. Having more eggs means they have a better chance of maturing. During my scan, my dominant follicle was 21mm which is really good apparently
  1. Me having low progesterone with DHs low sperm count could impact me getting pregnant but he's more concerned about DH than he is about me and my low progesterone
  1. Earlier PMS symptoms (as they started 2dpo) could mean stronger hormones this cycle
  1. Spotting during ovulation doesn't mean anything
  1. IUI is a possibility but he doesn't want me to work myself up into doing unnecessary treatment.

So to conclude, I still have nothing to worry about but if I want, they can prescribe progesterone pessaries as it wouldn't hurt. I said yes! 😂😂 So I'm getting a prescription sent to me. Yay!

unCliche · 25/02/2021 21:19

Sorry you're not feeling too great! At least you have some confirmation that you're ovulating. Is the pain usually this bad? Sounds like this one is especially terrible with the headache and nausea. I hope you'll be fine tomorrow for your interview.

I think for some people, it takes a good number of months to adjust from the pill. Do you remember what your cycles were like before you went on the pill. Obviously you wouldn't know ovulation day and LP but do you remember the general cycle length? The flow? Ovulation pain? Anything different?

I'm quite perplexed about this cycle but I wonder if this is normal for me without vitamins, but my boobs are sore already. I vaguely recall getting sore boobs straight after ovulation in the past but because I wasn't paying attention to my cycles back then, I'm not 100% sure. I also wonder what it means for my progesterone levels. I'll probably test again at 7DPO to check. I wouldn't think that the vitamins would have been suppressing my hormones...?

I was reading a post on facebook today (in the Ava bracelet group) that asked women who were diagnosed with unexplained infertility whether they ever got an explanation and one that really surprised me was a lady who was allergic to something that kept causing inflammations inside of her and once she cut out the food, she got pregnant. What if we're secretly allergic to something 😱 I've started looking at nuts sideways, although I've just eaten a Snickers bar 😁

That reminds me that I need to write down questions I want to ask the consultant. I think when AF shows up, I spiral and look for every way possible to fix whatever's broken. So, I suppose speaking to the consultant was something that I needed to do at CD1, but now that I have zero F's to give I feel pretty chill about it all. Maybe it'll help me have a factual conversation instead of an emotional one. Your appointment isn't too far away either. Will AF have started for you by the time your appointment comes around? You're pretty level-headed and knowledgeable anyway so you'll probably carry the whole conversation with expert calm 😁

A break is always great. The new year has barely started but it seems like work has been crazy for you. Do you have periods where it's really hectic and periods where it's calm? My Alexa app has been getting a lot of hype at work and I've had to do loads of demos and I was given recognition and awarded a day off. I'm not sure I like all the attention. I prefer being invisible at work and just getting on with things 😪

I'll be able to give you updates on the move at least. I'll let you know how everything goes. Hopefully nothing else delays things!

Do you think evil people know they're evil? Or are they just deluded? I can't imagine ever hurting a living thing on purpose (except bugs and especially mosquitos.) But some people are born evil. I still remember reading this.

Good luck tomorrow! Let me know how it goes although I know you'll be fine. Do you know when you'll hear back about whether you got the job our not?

I've had a pretty bad day with ovulation pain, this morning I felt sick, had a headache and was in a lot of pain around my left ovary. The nausea and headache has now gone but my ovary area is very tender 😣. Hows your ovulation pain?

Unsure if my body is still adjusting from the pill, it's my 8th cycle so I would have thought it would be sorted by now 😕. I reckon our next cycles will probably start at the same time but you will probably ovulate before me, so we'll be the opposite way round 😂.

It's funny how this cycle you've had your earliest ovulation and I've had my latest! Glad you've enjoyed this cycle more without having all the monitoring and tracking. You have your fertility appointment tomorrow! Are you looking forward to it? I hope it goes well and you can get a plan of action in place 😊.

Yeh I understand you not wanting to do pregnancy tests anymore but you'll have to do one to get your BFP!

Yay that's great news on the house 🎉🎉 not long now! You're about to start a new chapter in your life, moving into your own home and starting a family 😊. That's good you've booked the week off, that should make the whole process less stressful. I also have w/c 8th March booked off, I had leave to use before my annual leave resets and I need a break 😂.

That's interesting you sensed something wasn't right about that guy. I haven't knowingly met a psychopath but they're often very clever and good liars so I probably wouldn't know if I did meet one! However I have come across sociopaths and narcissists.

Managed to do some more interview prep this afternoon, I was really worried I wouldn't be able to when I felt ill this morning. Still a bit nervous they'll ask me something I can't answer but I've practiced my examples lots now, so hopefully I've covered all bases!

Haha yep can't wait for freedom! I just hope enough people are vaccinated and we don't get another rebound and end up in lockdown again.

unCliche · 24/02/2021 21:26

Yaaaaaay! Finally! Better late than never 😁 maybe your body is still adjusting from the pill? Hopefully things will start settling down soon. I'm really surprised that I'm ahead of you for the first time ever 😂 I wonder what this means for next cycle. Maybe we'll be back in sync and ovulate on the same day.

Yes, CD13 is the earliest I've recorded ovulation. This month my body didn't follow my usual pattern. I get 4 days of EWCM before I ovulate but I only got it for one day! Luckily it was the day we DTD. All unplanned 😅 I'm actually loving the not-knowing because all I can do is speculate!

Right?? Like how many dead sperm must have been in that condom? How powerful were those sperm? How many days away from ovulation could she have been? Getting pregnant must seriously be the easiest thing in the world 😱 which only confirms that mine and DHs genetic material suck! 😂😂😂

Nah I think I've quit pregnancy tests. What's the point anymore? He does like me in sexy lingerie 🤔 a keyring would be nice too 🤔 he'd love a personalised book! I think I'll go down the personalisation route. It'll mean more to him, even if it's something simple. Thank you!

Good news with the house! We got a response from the bank and we should be able to complete next week. Phew! We're cutting it pretty close. I've taken the week of the 8th off work so we can sort everything out. We're trying to book in movers for that week too. And then cleaners on the weekend. Return keys on the 15th and then we are finished with this current place forever!

Gosh, it's crazy to think real life psychopaths exist. I've never come across anyone like that before. But actually there was this one time I was at a customer meeting at work and I just got bad vibes from one the customers. He was really smiley and jovial but something in him made me really suspicious. Like he had abusive tendancies or something. Have you met a psycho before?

How are you feeling about Friday. Not long to go now. Are you better prepared?

Woooo! Freedom! I'm not sure what I'll do but it'll definitely involve me being out of the house all the time. I'll organise loads of meetups with my sci-fi/fantasy group and just see people. Host loads of gatherings and generally enjoy life. Resistance bands are great. They really helped me add variety to my leg workouts when the gyms were closed. Finally something to look for wtf to though!

Eeeeee I'm actually finally feeling excited about the house. I'm going to start packing things and dismantling my rabbits enclosure!

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 24/02/2021 19:52

I finally got a positive OPK! Although strangely my temp went up this morning, so it's doing the same as last cycle, temp has gone up before ovulation 🤷. So ovulation will be tomorrow on CD20 which is the latest it's ever been! So that means you'll be two days ahead of me, did not expect that!!

That's great you DTD in time! Is CD13 earlier than normal for you? I think as you had loads of EWCM on Monday and today it's creamy, that's a good indication you've ovulated 😊.

Gosh I'm surprised that woman got pregnant, the sperm must have been out in the cold for a few hours! I'm even more surprised the court took her side when she stole his sperm 😱.

As you've ovulated on CD13 does that mean you'd be 10DPO on 5th March? If so, you could do a pregnancy test? For other gift ideas... maybe a sexy outfit from Ann Summers, an engraved or photo keyring? Or there's this cool website that makes unique books and you can personalise the content:

thebookofeveryone.com/uk/personalised-books/the-book-of-everyone?

That's good you've got some plans incase the completion doesn't happen soon enough but fingers crossed it will!

Ooh I love psychological thrillers but I don't have Netflix, so might have to wait until it comes out on DVD! Yeh I'd say it's worth watching The Serpent, it's basically about a psychopath and his accomplice and it's based on a true story 😬.

Definitely gonna go to the pub and have a few meals out! How about you? I find it hard to believe all restrictions will be lifted by 21st June, kinda forgotten what life without restrictions was like! I've just ordered some resistance bands so will start using them to try and tone up the legs and bum! Working out in the garden will be nice, especially now the weather is starting to get better 😊.

Just checked CM again this morning and it's definitely creamy. Looks like I must have ovulated yesterday. I had a lot of pain in my lower abdomen (definitely ovulated from my right ovary as I've been feeling twinges for a few days on that side so not surprised) so I'm taking today as 1DPO. I was not expecting this 😱 good thing DH and I DTD when we did. This is the first time we've DTD without the pressure of ovulation. I wonder if CD13 is my normal ovulation day without vitamins 🤷‍♀️

Any sign of your ovulation today?

OP posts:
unCliche · 23/02/2021 23:04

Haha you go girl! Make the most of your personal Fairy God Lover 😂 shocked he's agreed to do everything you've listed bless him! HR are pretty useless in most companies so I'm not really surprised about the delay. At least he's got a job lined up now.

😱😱 What's going on?? I thought surely you'd get a +ve OPK today. From past cycles, how long does it take to get a +ve OPK from when they start hovering around 40%? Really strange what's going on. Fingers crossed it isn't an anovulatory cycle 😱🤞 although they do sometimes happen. Let me know how your temps do tomorrow. They could zig-zag a bit before you finally ovulate.

I got spotting, I think, 2 cycles ago. It was just a random brown streak. But this one is different. It's more mixed into my CM and pink. I'm not too worried about it. I don't think it means anything bad. I haven't checked CM today. Haven't really thought about sticking my fingers up myself today, strangely enough 😂 but now that you've mentioned it, I should check. Hmmm... Not sure. Looks watery creamy?? Maybe I've already ovulated. I'll have to check tomorrow.

Some people don't understand how lucky they are 😭 it really isn't fair. I still remember the story of a hotel room keeper who stole sperm out of a guests used condom and inseminated herself. Then she got pregnant and took him to court for child support and she won! Ok fair enough, it's a crazy story but what I want to know is HOW she got pregnant??????? Could she teach me? 😂😂😭 Abortion is a tricky one and people have their reasons. I could never consider it but each to their own.

Hehe no plans yet. It's DHs 32nd on the 5th so I need to think about what to do for that first. I have no idea what to do or what to get him. I threw him a surprise party for his 30th and I'd love to do something like that again. Any suggestions on how I could surprise him? Any gift ideas?? I'll be 8DPO then (assuming a CD15 ovulation) so I don't think a -ve HPT would work 🤔

I'm not too keen on germs and avoid getting in contact with dirt if I can but with kids, I think they need that exposure to help build their immune system. If they start eating mud I'd probably have a heart attack but the rational part of my brain would know it won't kill them. I'm ok with mud though. I don't mind being one with nature as long as there are no bugs 🤢😱

I have faith we'll complete before mid March. I'm not too worried right now. But you're right, we will need a plan. Our first course of action would be to see if we could extend our tenancy for a week or two. If not, we would probably ask the vendor of the house if we could move in and rent it out for a few days until we complete. Last would be moving furniture into storage and going to my parents. I'd take my rabbits with me wherever I go. They're my babies 🥰

I completely get the hype around Behind Her Eyes! 😱😱😱😱 It's shocking. Yes it's an absolute psychological thriller but you wouldn't think so at first. Definitely recommend. Is it worth watching the Serpent? Just had a look at it and it looks interesting.

Do you have plans for the end of lockdown? I'm starting to think about working out in the garden again. Time to get my body back 💪

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 23/02/2021 20:18

😂😂 not far off! Some of the jobs were clean the bathroom, clean the kitchen floor, dust the living room but he's done those now. Remaining jobs are clean fridges, hang up bathroom picture, repair house name sign, sort through clothes, clean door handles (they have masking tape stuck on them from when we painted ages ago!). Good excuse to get some house jobs done 😂😂. Not heard from the other job in a while, I reckon they've got problems approving the funding for the post, there's no other reason why they'd take so long to arrange the interview.

I still haven't had a positive OPK! Really don't know what's going on 🤷. Temp dropped this morning which indicates ovulation is happening today, so I guess if my temp spikes tomorrow then ovulation must of happened and maybe I just missed it on the OPKs. I've had tiny bits of EWCM today and yesterday but nothing like I've had previously, very strange!

I haven't been eating Brazil nuts, I ran out of the chocolate ones I made, I need to make some more!

That's odd you've got spotting again, some women do get spotting at ovulation but it's not common and you only got it for the first time in your last cycle? Definitely something to mention to your consultant. How's your CM today? I haven't had any ovulation pain so pretty confident it hasn't happened yet.

It does feel very unfair that it hasn't happened naturally for us yet, I was reading a post where this woman got pregnant after the condom broke and was 'considering her options'. Made me feel angry that she would consider aborting when there's plenty of women desperate for children but I don't know her situation, maybe she has good reason.

Aww have you got anything planned for your 1st anniversary as husband and wife?

Haha I'm quite girly, I don't like mud or getting dirty, that's why I got so annoyed when that muddy dog jumped on me. So I'm not sure how I'll feel about my kids getting muddy, I'll probably have to say to DP, if you get them dirty, you can wash their clothes! What about you, how are you with mud?

You might want to start making a plan just incase the dates don't work out and you end up with a few days or weeks with no home. Your furniture can go into storage but you'll need to arrange a temp home for the bunnies. Hopefully that won't happen but you want to be prepared just in case!

I recently watched The Serpent on BBC, that was interesting but also pretty scary and shocking. Not heard of Behind Her Eyes, sounds like a psychological thriller?

Haha what sort of jobs are on the list? Cook me breakfast, cook me lunch, cook me dinner, vacuum clean the house, clean the bathroom, change that lightbulb that has never seemed to work, iron all my clothes and build me a desk? Well at least that's what mine would be 😂😂 Any news on the other role?

Ok, it's looking like you'll get a +ve OPK tomorrow hopefully. Really weird that your cycle has changed because you haven't really changed anything. Is there anything new you've done this cycle? Could be the brazil nuts, although I don't think they'd have much of an impact on when you ovulate or on your CM. You might need to really get in there with your finger and have a swipe at your cervix to see what your CM is doing. But you could just be having a randomly off cycle.

CM is the only thing I can check tbh, but I won't be able to tell I've ovulated until it turns creamy. I've had loads of EWCM today and it's been a bit pink, so looks like I'm spotting too, which is new, although I had that random brown streak a few cycles back. From my intuition, I'll probably have a CD15 ovulation. I've DTD today, so will try and do it again in two days. How's DTD going? have you started getting ovulation pain?

Yeah, I think I have. I do get randomly sad that we might not conceive naturally but having no expectations has been the best thing for my mental health. I do really hope that fertility assistance will give us the helping hand we clearly need 😂 I think I've even stopped desperately wanting a baby. I just don't give an F anymore 😂 (until AF shows up and I have an emotional breakdown). It's my one year wedding anniversary at the end of this cycle too 😅 fun....!

Well considering the physical state of those who get pregnant so easily, their diet can't be all that great and yet they still manage it. I've had a chocolate bar today so I think I'm doing a good job. About to order pizza too 😂 Loads of people have boozy weekends just before they find out they're pregnant, so better stock up on the alcohol while you're at it. Yeah, getting ill once a year is actually really good. I'm the same. We probably ate a lot of dirt as kids. Do you think you'll let you kids get down and dirty when they're playing outside?

Gosh, I hope so. I don't think DH can deal with the stress of house buying anymore. I've been pretty chill about it but I think I'll start to panic if we're faced with homelessness.

Are you watching anything interesting right now? Started watching Behind Her Eyes on Netflix. It's been trending on social media so I'm interested to see what the hype is about.

OP posts:
ButterscotchBabe · 22/02/2021 18:50

DP hasn't got a start date yet, he'll end up having a few months break between jobs. I'd love a couple of months off right now 😂. Although I have made him a jobs list to keep him busy 😂😂.

Still haven't had a positive OPK yet! The test line has got a little darker but not enough to be positive. The latest ovulation I've had so far is CD18 but as I'm now on CD17 and not had high LH levels yet, I may not ovulate until CD19. I've had a tiny bit of EWCM today but it's strange because I had loads last cycle. I'm guessing as you're not doing any monitoring you won't know when you've ovulated?

You should try and take the folic acid just incase you do get pregnant, I think it takes a while to build up in your system. That reminds me, I need to take mine 😂.

How's your CM been today, any EWCM? I wonder if not taking anything will make your ovulation later, as it has mine.

Yeh I definitely feel more relaxed this cycle, it helps knowing my fertility appointment isn't far away and I'm no longer hoping for a BFP, I'll still give it a shot but absolutely expecting it not to happen. It sounds like you're doing similar, have you found it easier and more relaxing not hoping/expecting to get a BFP?

Haha I wouldn't say I'm super healthy, the last time I was ill was Feb 2020 but I think getting ill once a year is probably normal? Sugar and alcohol is supposed to not be good for fertility but then nothings happened yet so could be worth a try 😂😂.

If you have your fallopian tubes checked, I recommend taking some co-codamal before the procedure, I found it very uncomfortable and painful at times.

Aww you're so close to moving in! Hopefully this won't be much of a set back and they'll get a date sorted soon 🤞🤞.

Thank you 😊😊, managed to get lots of practice in today, not long now! 😬
