Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. So many of us have found much comfort from other lovely ladies on this thread, together we're rooting for lots of BFP's! Let 2020 end on a positive note x

Thank you @Janefx40, I have had my appointment with Dr S and been diagnosed with aggressive nk cells. I'm on his complex plan with hydroxychloroquine and intralipids from ovulation. I'd head about his beside manner and dh said to me as we left, he's a lot nicer than I expected him to be from what you'd told me 😂 this is my first month on the plan and feeling hope for the first time in a while 🤞

Thank you @kim80

@Mumlili9 I'm sorry the ava is adding more stress. I'd be more inclined to trust you manually doing in as the ava is just your skin isn't it? I think your chart looks like you did ovulate. You're the same as me, ovulate on cd10 and when you get a positive opk 🤞 xx

Mumlili9 · 30/11/2020 16:43

@VenusStarr @Avocuddles @fnej01 @InDreamland @Kiki275 @AliceinBunniland @dryoldparty @nchristie @Janefx40 how are you all and same to anyone I missed tagging.

Im apparently 3dpo according to FF but my very expensive Ava bracelet doesn't agree and is telling me that my temp is lower than two days ago. I bought this stupid expensive bracelet to help take the stress out of temping but £165 later I am infact more stressed out than before.

Im not doing Christmas this year im really not in the mood and im working Christmas day night so ill be asleep most of Christmas day. No one will be coming to my house to see decorations anyway.
I feel like all I ever do is come here to moan. Any way here my FF chart so you can see what I mean.

Thanks @VenusStarr and thank you for your kind words back in August when it was all happening. I know Dr S by reputation - he is well respected and it's great you have an appointment. Just a heads up that people often say he has quite an abrupt manner so it may be worth preparing for that so it doesn't come as a surprise!

kim80 · 30/11/2020 14:18

@janefx40 so sorry to hear you news. This has been such a supportive group for me they are all lovely.

@venusstarr thanks but I'm kinda getting used to it even though I fully convince myself every tww that I have symptoms af always shows up lol. I didnt feel to bad about this one with Christmas around the corner. I have all my fingers crossed 🤞 for you this month.

VenusStarr · 30/11/2020 13:50

Hi @Janefx40 I'm so sorry to see you here ❤️ but welcome. This group has been a lifeline for me since my first loss. How are you getting on since your loss in August?

I'm sorry that af arrived @kim80 I feel like I'm going to be crushed if this cycle doesn't work, got my hopes well and truly up, but I'm trying to enjoy the hope phase xx

Janefx40 · 30/11/2020 13:24

Sorry I should clarify. I miscarried at 9 weeks in August.

Janefx40 · 30/11/2020 13:23

Hello Ladies,

Can I join? I'm sorry we are all on this thread but hoping for good things for us all.

I'm 43. I have 1DD who is 22 months. She was born from our second IVF cycle. The first was a CP. We lost our baby at 9 weeks in August after a frozen embryo transfer. We have no frozen left and can't conceive naturally. We are going to do a fresh IVF cycle in January but with an awareness that this is just for us to know we tried (a very expensive way of getting peace of mind!). We only have a 2-5% chance of it working due to my age. We know how lucky we are to have our DD so holding onto that. We are also TTC naturally before we start although that is pretty pointless - but no harm in trying eh?!

Sorry about AF @kim80 and all the best to everyone else

Xxx

kim80 · 30/11/2020 10:01

Morning all, its cold 🥶 here but not to bad. We are heading into tier 2 so pretty normal as from Wednesday. The tree is up and started to wrap the presents 🎁 starting to feela little festive but became a little deflated this weekend as af arrived 😩 moving on to the next cycle 🙂.

Hope everyone is well and keeping safe x

VenusStarr · 30/11/2020 09:03

Morning everyone, just thought I'd pop on and say hi. Hope everyone is OK @kim80 @Kiki275 @Mumlili9 @AliceinBunnyland @Marshmallow123 @nchristie @Jadem83 @ AlexaPlayWhiteNoise
Going a bit stir crazy, the weather here is vile and we're going straight into tier 3 this week, so trying to do all our shopping online - not feeling motivated at all! X

dryoldparty · 27/11/2020 21:15

@AliceinBunniland tentative congratulations to you and I have absolutely everything crossed that this is your rainbow xx

VenusStarr · 26/11/2020 07:39

Hi @fnej01 good to hear from you again and lovely to know you're there rooting for us all ❤️ Hope you're well. I'm really pleased we're under Dr Shehata now, I feel hopeful for the first time in a very long time ☺️ x

fnej01 · 25/11/2020 22:10

Like others I just wanted to wish you ladies all the best. I had a huge amount of support from this thread through my losses, and not sure I would have got through without it. I still read and pray for you all.

@VenusStarr I've always heard great things about Dr Shehata. He was my plan C after Tommy's clinic.

@lillimum9 sorry to hear you are still having such a rough time x

@AliceinBunniland congrats - wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

VenusStarr · 25/11/2020 07:21

Nice to hear from you @Avocuddles hope all is well.

Thank you @InDreamland they do offer sperm dna frag testing at my clinic and there's a specialist linked to them. Hopefully we won't need to do that.

@Marshmallow123 I hope you're OK. I had a polyp removed too. I'm glad they checked you over. Hopefully these couple of weeks fly for you, it feels nonsensical to be taking birth control when all you want is a baby ❤️

@Mumlili9 this space is for all of us to share the good and the bad ❤️ I'm sorry you're worried and not getting the right care or investigations, it feels really unfair. I'm glad your recovery was quick. Lots of love.

Hope every one is doing OK xx

Avocuddles · 25/11/2020 06:59

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry to hear how badly life has treated you, its devastating that covid is causing delays to investigations and treatments that women really need ASAP.
Hopefully beta blockers should not be an issue for your DH, my DH has been on them for a number of years (ever since he had a heart attack four years ago - he's also on a number of other drugs such as statins) and they didn't cause any challenges. If your DH does experience issues then he should speak to his doctor as it may be that an adjustment in dose will iron out any side effects.
I wish you (and everyone here) all the luck in the world

Mumlili9 · 25/11/2020 02:21

@Avocuddles hello hun lovely to hear from you sadly im no closer to my rainbow and its increasingly looking unlikely now with my age and DH has now been put on beta blockers. My periods are getting lighter and shorter with every month. So somethings going on with me but thanks to good old covid it looks like RMC won't be continuing to see people for a while yet.

@kim80 im back at work so all recovered but still in limbo still don't know why I cant get pregnant now.

Its odd a year ago I was worried that if I got pregnant I would lose it again, then I had the ectopic and lost my tube. Everyone said you will still get pregnant with one tube but I've not managed it yet and we covered all the bases. Its really stressing me out. Im 39 its really getting very late in the game. Its horrid to think when we started this journey I was 35 and still considered young but just 4 years on and how the doctors attitude has changed. I seems they Really couldn't give a crap now. Sorry dont really know the purpose of this post other than to moan 😕.

Avocuddles · 24/11/2020 17:38

Hi just wanted to check into the new thread as I've been regularly following your stories and am desperately hoping for another surge of BFPs soon. This thread was so helpful for me at the darkest of times. @AliceinBunniland sending you tentative congratulations, I'm crossing everything for you....
@Mumlili9 @VenusStarr you were both so supportive during my year on the thread. Wish there was more I could say other than that I really hope this awful year ends on a high for you both. Wishing you all the best x

InDreamland · 23/11/2020 23:49

@AliceinBunniland I'm well thanks. DD is 9 months old now. I'll never forget how supportive you and the other ladies were to me when I was on here. Really really keeping everything crossed for this pregnancy for you.

@VenusStarr my DH had what @Mistymeow mentioned. He was treated for DNA fragmentation and very very shortly afterwards I was pregnant again which resulted in DD. We went to Dr. Jonathan Ramsay for those tests and treatment just in case you do decide to explore that avenue too.

kim80 · 23/11/2020 13:03

Hi ladies,

@AliceinBunniland congratulations what a lovely way to start a thread.

@mumlili9 hope you keot your feet up over the weekend and feel a little better now.

@venusstarr sorry to hear you're still waiting for results but its so good that you are now in a more positive situation.

@marshmallow123 sorry to hear your anxious about the next two weeks, I am currently in my two week wait not holding no hope but have been using Christmas as the distraction so put the trees up this weekend some wrapping🤔. Im so glad you finally have your answers and just think 2 weeks and you will be able to TTC as normal 😊 x

Marshmallow123 · 23/11/2020 11:37

Hey ladies. How are you all?

I’ve been a bit quiet as I’ve been really nervous about today but here is the Update on the hysteroscopy...polyp removed, have to take mini pill for two weeks to ensure any remaining small bits of loose tissue come away and then we should be good to start trying again. Got to say, the news about the mini pill for two weeks is what broke me...it seems so counter productive when all we want is to get pregnant again but I do understand why I’ve to take it. Today is 2 months to the day since MMC so I will be so happy to close this chapter in a couple of weeks and begin to move on.

Anyone got any advice or tips on how to make the next two weeks fly by and not drag?!

@AliceinBunniland congratulations, I hope all goes well for you this time round.

Mistymeow · 22/11/2020 16:53

@VenusStarr thank you. I'm so glad you're feeling more positive. He's an excellent doctor with a very good reputation. I have everything crossed lovely x

VenusStarr · 22/11/2020 13:16

Good to hear from you @Mistymeow I'm so pleased your little girl is here - I remember you posting about your first scan with her and seeing her heartbeat ❤️🥰 I'm seeing Dr S! For the first time in a long time I feel hopeful that we'll get there one day. We decided not to do the dna frag just yet, I'm convinced that the immune factors are our issue, so many other things add up. If we have another loss on the plan we will do the tests. X

Mistymeow · 22/11/2020 12:28

I was on the penguin thread 2018-2019 and thought I would pop on to tell @VenusStarr I was also diagnosed by Dr Shehata with high NK cells and offered a treatment plan. My husband had issues as well and was diagnosed with severe sperm DNA fragmentation. However, before the test results came back I fell pregnant and she is now a happy 8 month year old girl. I'm so hopeful for you.

@Mumlili9 thinking of you and your angels. I hope you get your much wanted rainbow. You have been through so much xx

@AliceinBunniland tentative congrats. I hope you're doing OK x

Sending lots of love to the penguin huddle. This thread helped me so much during a dark time x

AliceinBunniland · 22/11/2020 09:50

Thank you @Mumlili9 💗

@VenusStarr Thank you for your kind words. You are right. I do try to focus on the fact that right now I have no reason to think anything is wrong and in a way it helps to know that I can't really change anything I these early stages so what will be will be

I think it's really good that you have a plan and the ivf as a back up as it may help focus your mind too xx

@InDreamland Thank you. It is so lovely of you to check on on us and I hope everything is going well for you 💕

InDreamland · 21/11/2020 23:28

@Mumlili9 hope you've been resting up, sorry it was so uncomfortable. Good news that it was looking healthy and there is no scar tissue. Hope you can get some answers soon! Not sure if relevant but after my first MC my periods also got really short and light too and it really worried me. Every medic I spoke to including the private consultant told me periods can just change length and heaviness - I did feel that I was being fobbed off as they just had no answers for me. They never went back to how they were before.

InDreamland · 21/11/2020 23:20

Thank you for the tags @Kiki275 and @AliceinBunniland

@AliceinBunniland congratulations on your BFP. Fingers crossed for a healthy sticky bean. I totally understand the anxiety and being cautious at this stage, pregnancy after loss is so hard. I'm so pleased to hear your news. I've been lurking on this thread since I left it as I feel so invested still in those of you who were here supporting me in some of my darkest days. I'm just praying you all get to have your rainbows to take home soon x
