Spotting before AF

Hello everyone!

New to the forums but have been lurking fir a while. TTC number one with no luck for the past year. I normally get spotting before and around ovulation but never anything in the luteal phase ( I have fibroids though)

Today, I’m about 5dpo roughly (irregular cycles) and I’ve had some bright red bleeding, which I never ever ever get in the luteal phase. Always before ovulation!

Anyone know what this is? Xx

Hi,

I had a stabby pain low right side 9DPO, pink/brown spotting on 10dpo and very slight brown CM on 11dpo. I had AF cramps too and was sure I had started early but got my BFP yesterday! I was so sure I was not pregnant!
Fingers crossed for you Smile

@Sperr I’m due on next week, round about Thursday so still quite a wait for me! I haven’t tried temping either, but will probably give it a go once my OPKs arrive!

Also, have been having a very sharp, intermittent stabbing pain in my right side, feels roughly where the ovary is. What’s this about? Almost feels like ovulation pain but surely it’s too late in the cycle to ovulate? Or do you think I’m ovulating? Had a bit of CM yesterday so possible I guess and I didn’t track this cycle so cant say for sure! Ugh why is this all so vague and crap?? Why can’t we just turn bright purple and have flowers growing out of our fingertips if we’ve conceived? So much more readable as a sign Grin

I have Premom and fertility friend- I got it because I was going to start doing temps but I can’t deal with not having a lay in on the weekend 😂. When are you due on? X

WicketBasket · 19/11/2020 08:52

@Sperr I'm using the premom app, which ones are you using? I think I might order some OPK's for the next cycle as that'll probably help me track better!

It is weird that you've had an AF that is not your normal but I'm keeping my fingers crossed this means you're preggers :D
xx

I will do! I’ve got two tracking apps (from when I couldn’t decide which I preferred) so on one I said I’ve already started the next cycle just in case. I’m trying to follow SMEP so I don’t want to fall behind if I’m not 😂. I do think that was a pretty weird AF if it was as I had no bleeding at all- I was just when I wiped and never red.

My positive would be that it would mean I had a 28 day cycle which I normally have a longer one 😂.

I’m going to try and be really strong and wait until next weekend and then I will technically be late for my period as well!

WicketBasket · 18/11/2020 23:01

Great minds @Sperr! I’m also going to hold off (in theory) until late next week! I’m so sick of wasting tests Grin Let me know how you get on? Xx

OP posts:
Sperr · 18/11/2020 21:27

I’m going to try and wait another week! I just don’t want to waste tests 😂. Hopefully by then I will know for sure I’m not going to come on! You? Xx

WicketBasket · 18/11/2020 21:17

Ooh @Sperr that sounds really encouraging for you! Aversion to foods and cramping that’s different makes me think you might have had some implantation bleeding! Smile
When are you due to test?
I feel like I always wait to test close to AF and then I start having bleeding/ cramps exactly as I’m about to test and sure enough come on pretty soon afterwards! Annoying!! Xx

Ive had something similar! I had (TMI) brown spotting for 3 days with mild cramping and lower back ache. I tried Googling it and everything says wait a week (or until your AF is due) to test. Mine stopped after the 3 days but I still feel crampy and bloated which makes me think it wasn’t AF. I’ve also really gone off the smell of things (garlic and onions 😂 which I normally love)

WicketBasket · 18/11/2020 18:56

Aww thanks @Rachel93x! I know what you mean, I don’t want to get my hopes up either so I’ll see how things go- I’m still having brown discharge ( TMI TMI sorrryyGrin) so will see what happens over the course of the next few days.
I’m weirdly not hopeful, been negative so many cycles, why is this one any different? But....it’s not over until AF arrives right? Wink

Whereabouts are you in your journey? Hope you get the news you’ve been waiting for very soon Flowers

The way you describe it does sound pretty promising, in the fact it was the once and then turned brown🙊🤞🏻 I of course don't want to give false hope but I'd certainly take a test if you have no more when you're due/normally get a bleed! Fingers crossed for you!xx

WicketBasket · 18/11/2020 18:06

@Rachel93x @CakeAndPreggersThanks for replying! This is more than a week before my period is due and im never this early. I’ve heard about implantation but didn’t want to get my hopes up hahaha! It was a small gush (TMI sorry) this morning of bright red blood, thinner than a period. And then I had more pink spotting eventually becoming dark brown over the course of the day. Associated with light cramps and discomfort in my uterus :( Don’t know what’s going on!

I don’t ever get spotting during the luteal phase! Is it possible this is a good sign?? (I know we can’t know until testing but you know how crazy things feel in the tww Grin)

Oh and @CakeAndPreggers I really hope you’re having implantation bleeding too!! Lots of luck lovely xx

Hi @WicketBasket

It could potentially be implantation bleeding. I experience this and hopefully have this at the moment (rather than AF).
Maybe worth waiting a few days and testing, if you're not already.

Rachel93x · 18/11/2020 17:39

Hi @WicketBasket

I also get spotting before AF is due, just a couple of days prior and very light! Although I cant offer any advice on what you're experiencing, I didn't want to read and run!

Is it heavy? I know possible implantation could be around 5 days in rare cases or maybe you've ovulated earlier? I'm not sure but I hope you find some answers xx

Anyone?
