Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

Woke up early this morning with bleeding. So there is no doubt in my mind anymore that I am having a chemical pregnancy. Keeping doctors appointment for Friday so I can confirm and get more information.

@HT1335 yeah it could be just what we need 🤞🏻 a little rest and restart a fresh in the new year. It takes it out of you doesn't it! It's so nice to talk to someone who feels the same, although I'm sad you're feeling how I'm feeling; it sucks!

I know that's what I'm worried about, what if it just doesn't come?! I think it's classed as skipped if you go 6 weeks since last period. But not sure! I'm the same; I was on the pill for years, I took a little break about 5 years ago but I don't remember my cycles being long or anything, but I went back on it not long after!

HT1335 · 24/11/2020 11:17

@HJen22 I feel exactly the same! A break over Christmas and have some enjoyment as opposed to feeling like we need to do things, hopefully that will lead to less stress and something happening 🤞🏻 And for now the AF needs to make an appearance, unless you can skip a month? Again I’m a novice I’ve been on the pill for years and never really had a natural AF until this year.

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 10:55

@HT1335 I was the same, I had no idea they even existed until I started reading up. And the more I read what others were doing the more I thought, maybe I should do that! Yeah I think it's the best shot, I might ask my BF when AF finally does arrive if he wants to have a break for a month before we do that. I don't want to, but it's been a pretty stressful 8 months and taking its toll emotionally and not sure I want the disappointment right before Christmas.

That's great you've done all that! I used to take seven seas but after a few months I stopped and just take folic acid now and again. I hardly ever drink now as I just don't want to really. I'm glad you're ok, me too I just really want to know what's going on and If this month isn't the month, AF just to come! I can't face doing another test.

HT1335 · 24/11/2020 10:49

@HJen22 yea it’s very bizarre initially I was against the opk as I didn’t understand it or see the need, but when it didn’t happen I thought maybe I should be doing them. Maybe just to try every 2-3 days would work as I think it’s the only thing we haven’t tried! We both take the pre pregnancy vitamins and have cut out alcohol so I’m not sure what else we can try! I feel ok hope you do too? I’m trying again to think positive thoughts. But now I’m confused as to where I’m at with having no AF yet 🤯

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 10:43

@HT1335 Same, I feel like it becomes a chore too and just adds such pressure, I knew it was advised every 2/3 days and we start with that intention but it becomes so tiring! And I thought with OPKs and stuff there wasn't a need. She didn't seem that keen on me doing OPKs and I was going to again next month and now I can't decide. She understood why I did them to begin with, so I knew I was ovulating and that some women like to do it, but she wasn't like oh yeah do them! She just emphasised every 2/3 days the entire month!

It's so strange isn't, we try hard to relax more and then our bodies go and do this! How are you feeling?

HT1335 · 24/11/2020 10:37

@HJen22 oh the go sounds very supportive and at least they have done thorough bloods with you. We sound so similar as concentrate only on the ‘fertile’ weeks and then have a rest too as it can feel like a chore sometimes. It’s just so bizarre that getting a little stressed can delay AF for so long isn’t it! Because I have felt more stressed than this in previous months. I suppose we will have to try and be patient and see what happens and try to stay positive 😬

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 10:07

@sociallydistained haha they can't win can they 😂 I feel bad but I just don't feel like I am, and I know people say they "just knew". I'm getting more irritable, maybe AF is looming haha. Yeah I'm not speaking to my BF about it again either, I said this last week! Feeling sick could totally be a sign (not a fun one though!), hope so!! I know what you mean; we question the symptoms ourselves already!

Yeah I have felt like AF was coming and there was no chance since last Friday when I last took a test. You're right some develop the hormone later, I guess the doctor just didn't want to give me false hope. She did say if my period didn't come in another week to test again. A bath is a great idea, I will definitely have one tonight. The annoying thing is, I probably am stressed but I feel like I could be a lot worse and have been way worse in the TWW before.

sociallydistained · 24/11/2020 10:03

@HJen22 my partner on the other hand completely convinced there's not a chance I am which has the opposite effect because I feel like I'm making all these symptoms up. I feel so so sick today! I'm at work and just trying to keep my problems to myself as much as possible. Not discussing with bf any further until either AF comes or the tests come up different!

It is probably best for you to just assume AF is coming and is messing you around but I wouldn't take what the doctor says for fact. Some women just develop low levels of the pregnancy hormone or develop it much later. Stress could definitely be a factor so now you've spoken to the doctor maybe it'll help take your mind off it for a while and we'll see what happens. Im absolutely loving baths at the moment for clearing my head and bringing a sense of calm!

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 09:30

Had my call with the doctor, she doesn't think I'm pregnant as I've done 3 tests and she said they are very sensitive, they don't even do bloods really at the doctors cos they are so good at picking up.

She was super nice, discussed everything that was tested including testosterone, LH, thyroid, kidneys, all the hormone / female studies. She said all came back totally normal, and none even near borderline.

She's sure AF will come, my stressing is probably delaying. Over the next few months I'm to keep track of the cycle and then I can call back if really irregular. Also come March she can refer me as it will have been a year.

Advised to DTD every 2/3 days the entire month; which to be honest we don't really, do for the 2 weeks after AF but then it kinda tails off / we have a rest. Which is silly really as you just never know. I guess with doing OPKs I didn't think we had to.

Anyways, sorry long post! So all in all; just have to wait for AF and keep trying! My BF is still convinced I'm PG which I'm not gonna lie, is frustrating me as I'm clearly not and it's such false hope 😔

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 08:20

@sociallydistained the longest! I was moaning to my BF saying this month I thought I'd done better with not stressing, up until no AF anyway! The 29 day cycles were right after I came off the pill too, for the last 5 months it's been 24/25/26. And I ovulate pretty early so it's annoying as I'd probably be around that time now if AF came!

Thank you, I hope so! And I really hope so for you too 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 positive vibes to everyone today!

sociallydistained · 24/11/2020 08:15

@HJen22 Such a big change from your normal cycle! Really hoping for BFP for you soon! Longest month ever though

HJen22 · 24/11/2020 08:04

Morning girls! Still no sign of AF for me either and I was convinced it would be today, right before my doctors call!

Oh ouch @sociallydistained that sounds awful, hopefully it's a good sign though 🤞🏻 I'm now 10 days late and onto cd35 when my longest has been 29!

sociallydistained · 24/11/2020 07:58

@Bgrace8 Over a week late by the general trend but I'm day 34 and realised I've had a 35 day cycle before so I'm waiting until tomorrow to test if AF hasn't arrived. I last tested last weds and Thursday and both bfn I put pregnancy out of my mind on Friday and waited for AF. My nausea continues though and on Saturday after dtd I had a stitch like twinge in my pelvic area which has never happened before either.
This is only my third cycle off the pill though so I'm sort of explaining everything away by that and my body adjusting.

Bgrace8 · 24/11/2020 07:37

@sociallydistained @HT1335 morning girls! Oh that sounds awful but 🤞🏽 For you. Have you tested at all and how late are you?

I’ve tested again this morning BFN but I didn’t expect anything else! No sign of AF at all how bizzare!!

My fiancé is going to start peeing on the sticks soon to see what they say 😂

HT1335 · 24/11/2020 07:26

@sociallydistained oh keep us posted, sending you positive thoughts!
Still no sign at all of my AF 🤷🏼‍♀️
I will look forward to hearing updates from everyone today, hopefully good ones! ☺️

sociallydistained · 24/11/2020 07:08

Well I had such an awful night! Cramps, stomach pain and constant nausea! No period this morning. If she's coming, she's gonna be the worst one in a while I think. Part of me is hoping that that awful night will all be worth it for a BFP and maybe it's a sign, however I am also worried that if I am pregnant then somethings wrong for my stomach to hurt so much... what a rollercoaster this cycle has been 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyway I'm off to work now so hope it all stays at bay and we'll see what happens.

Bgrace8 · 23/11/2020 22:22

@HJen22 she sounds lovely fingers crossed you can spend Christmas together!

@HT1335 yes it is reassuring and glad we can all rant. Anyway ladies I will update you tomorrow and vice versa with what’s going on! X

HJen22 · 23/11/2020 20:37

@Bgrace8 yeah in the same boat and it's great to talk about it with other girls, not sure about your guys, mine is great and super supportive but I don't think he really understands how frustrating it is not knowing what's going on!

She is 11 and great! We are in Scotland so we're hoping with upcoming announcements we'll be able to have her up. I really want to have a baby whilst she is still interested and thinks they are cute and fun haha!

@sociallydistained oh thank you, I'll need to have a watch! Cramps may not come to anything! Hopefully not!!

HT1335 · 23/11/2020 20:24

@Bgrace8 hello! Yea there’s a few of us in the same situation it appears.
It’s lovely to speak to people who are going through the same frustrating times, hopefully we all get the outcome that we want!
@sociallydistained thank you will check out the videos as googling is not good! I like to hear people’s actual experiences of things even tho were all different it just gives me some hope

Bgrace8 · 23/11/2020 20:13

@HJen22 Atleast we are all in the same boat! Oh a step daughter how lovely, how old is she? We are allowed 5 days at Christmas to mix household woohoo!!

@ImpatientMama I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you please do keep us updated x

sociallydistained · 23/11/2020 20:06

I'm pretty sure I'm coming on my cramps feel much more intense and I was expecting to come on by weds latest if I was (as I have checked and I've had a cycle that was that long once before so....) anyway you guys who are definitely well past when AF would arrive but still testing negative should look at YouTube there's some great stories on there of people who have tested negative right up in the 40s of their cycle but eventually got their BFP. It can happen, ladies!

ImpatientMama · 23/11/2020 20:04

@Bgrace8 AF was 6 days late when i got those. They were so faint, so I was hoping the Sunday tests would be darker. But nothing. I heard chemical pregnancies are pretty common, so I have a feeling my doctor will say that is what is happening. Unfortunately. But I am trying to stay hopeful that by some mericle i am pregnant. The only way I will know is during this appointment and most likely bloodwork. Maybe ultrasound. Not sure.

@Bgrace8 ah that's great you've a follow up booked in! Much better way of doing it than my back to front way! I've no children, this is my first time TTC, what about you? I do have a lovely step daughter who lives down in England, who I love dearly and comes up and spends her school holidays with us, she'll be up for Christmas 💕 (If Covid allows)

Bgrace8 · 23/11/2020 19:57

@ImpatientMama forgot to tag you! So new to this haha. We started trying the same time! I also came off in august
