Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

@HT1335 how did you get on calling the doctors? I should be around 8dpo but didn't do any tracking so not sure! Kinda got to the point of being tired this month, but I know should still be DTD just in case I haven't ovulated yet! X

HJen22 · 12/01/2021 11:51

Oh I'm sorry to hear that @lastbany how are you feeling? I hope you're on the mend very soon! X

@ImpatientMama sounds like you got lots of BD at the right time! Yeah like @lastbany said, as you've ovulated later I'd not expect your AF to come at same time as predicted x

lastbany · 12/01/2021 07:20

So am covid positive !!! 3 days to af so hoping so thing else will be positive! Although pretty scared that if I was would the covid have any effect???

lastbany · 11/01/2021 08:32

@ImpatientMama just little tip (doctor told me when has consult about ttc) if you have irregular periods you will have irregular ovulation like your fat 13/20 however af will always be due 14 days after ovulation so will only be the first phase that's different , just so your not expecting at in 10 days then getting upset when kate etc (but not really late) xxx

ImpatientMama · 11/01/2021 03:00

A couple days late replying, but all good here. Just peaked today, CD20. Kind of annoying since last cycle I peaked CD13. 🤷‍♀️ Anywho. We BDed CD18-20. So, we did pretty good. Hah. Now tomorrow should be ovulation day and then onto the tww. Sigh. I am due for AF in about 9-10 days, so I am sure she will be late and give me hope. I honestly would be OK not getting pregnant this month, and possibly next depending on when I ovulate. I am in a wedding out of town at the end of October so if I get pregnant this cycle I would be due the beginning of October and it would be hard to be apart from my baby, even for a weekend, that soon after. It would be really nice to be pregnant during the wedding. That way I could travel and not feel bad. But I know a child is a blessing so I will absolutely be thrilled if we do get pregnant this cycle or next. And i know the bride would understand and be happy as well. So we will see either way in a couple weeks!

@HT1335 I've just been shoving on headphones so not to wake up by BF haha the Calm app is what I'm using just now. I'm really going to try and stick with it! X

HT1335 · 10/01/2021 18:02

@HJen22 thank you I will keep you updated!
Oh that sounds a good does to start the day in a chilled mood I could do with trying that myself! X

HJen22 · 10/01/2021 17:56

@HT1335 yeah and it feeling like a task is no fun and then just adds even more pressure! Not easy this at all! Yeah I sometimes find I don't find time with being busy with work; so this week I've been doing 10mins meditation before I even get out of bed, I think it's improving my mood as it's first thing!

I really hope so! And I hope that you get through to the doctor tomorrow for some advice. X

HT1335 · 10/01/2021 12:26

@HJen22 yes I see what you mean about dtd you’d think the other halves would be pleased they have to do it so often, but it just causes them to feel pressured and it feels like a task sometimes.. but we will keep on trying.
I’m the same I start doing something and things get in the way or I feel too stressed to do the activity that will help to lessen the stress! 🙈
Hopefully it happens soon and we don’t need treatment and then the world will hopefully be a more normal place to enjoy them 🤞🏻X

HJen22 · 10/01/2021 12:21

@HT1335 that's a good way of looking at it, and I seem to be way more of a stresser than I just to be so maybe it will be easier when it does happen and as you say; the world is a safer place. You just don't imagine it to be this difficult. I'm going to do OPKs next month too, if anything it takes away the whole worrying about DTD every 2/3 day for the whole time! Although I know that's what the doctor recommends, I find it takes it's toll and adds pressure to my BF! If I'm doing OPKs may as well do BBT too, although I find it a right faff sometimes, sometimes it's takes forever to find my temp and I'm sitting with it hanging out my mouth for ages!

Exercise bike is a good idea! I've been trying to mediate again and do a bit of yoga here and there, although I've said this before and didn't do well at keeping it up! Trying again though! X

HT1335 · 10/01/2021 12:06

@HJen22 I think exactly the same and I’m like why hasn’t it happened to me! Then I think it’s maybe taking time so I’ll have my baby when the world is a bit safer and then wonder if that’s better as it must be tough having a new born in lockdown... I’m just trying to put a bit of a positive spin onto this blooming stressful time
I will try to continue dtd and see what happens, then next month I’ll go back to opk and try the bbt in the mornings
Yes a walk always helps to de stress! I’ve got an exercise bike I’ve been on there a lot too as I find it helps a bit x

HJen22 · 10/01/2021 11:50

@HT1335 i know, it gets tiring! The month I had a really long cycle it ended up moving my ovulation day to way later and turned out we'd only DTD once in the fertile window I think, thinking we were in the 2WW! It's so frustrating isn't it. I know, my friend who told us May just had her baby a few weeks ago and another friend (the only one who knows I'm TTC) is due in less than a month, when she told me she was PG we'd been trying a month or two too! I always find myself thinking, oh could have had a baby by now, been a few months pregnant etc, and now I'm like if I'm not pregnant by March a baby won't be here til 2022! Such negative thinking I know, just can't help it sometimes! Must get out for some fresh air soon x

HT1335 · 10/01/2021 10:51

@HJen22 yes I will as there is still absolutely no sign of AF so we’re a bit like do we still dtd as regular?! Very confusing
And yep it really is two people I know have had their babies this week and we started ttc before them 😞 very frustrating and disheartening

HJen22 · 10/01/2021 09:29

@HT1335 yeah I would definitely call them and get an appointment, and I hope they can get you in for some tests, it would only be a tiny bit early! And just explain about long cycles, I would. Same, I looked but couldn't really understand as I don't know what the minimum or standard initial tests would be so hard to work out. Really hoping it doesn't come to that too! I'll go through GP first and just have to wait and see re times / referrals I guess. Everything about TTC is such a waiting game isn't it 😞

HT1335 · 09/01/2021 22:08

@HJen22 in September when I got bloods they just done my general health thyroid diabetes etc no hormone ones, so I can request those as my general health was fine. I also looked at private costs and I couldn’t really fathom it out but I’ll wait and see I’m Defs going to ring the doctors on Monday. I really do hope they would refer us and it wouldn’t be delayed if it comes down to it, I know for me I would have to travel regardless. But let’s hope and pray we don’t have to get to that stage! I really hope it happens naturally for us both x

HJen22 · 09/01/2021 20:48

@HT1335 I know, I'd call again even just to discuss and I hope that as it was some time ago you called and you've had some long cycles they can run some tests. Do you know what they tested for last time, and did it all come back ok? I tend to worry about something new every week; now with Covid vaccine and lockdown I worry that a referral will take even longer than normal, I hope not, I think this time they'll be trying to keep up with appointments and things with so much delayed and cancelled NHS wise but just so hard to know. I looked at private costs but not in much detail as would still be waiting until a year of TTC x

HT1335 · 09/01/2021 19:06

@HJen22 I know I can’t understand why they didn’t do any of my joe so all bloods last time I guess the doctor thought I was calling a bit too soon and it would happen but that was some time ago now so hopefully I get some different ones this time and other tests.. if they can do any? I’ll update how I get along
Let’s hope we all get some good news this year 🤞🏻

HJen22 · 09/01/2021 18:46

@HT1335 if AF doesn't come by then give them a call, the worst they can say is wait until March I guess. But you've had a few long cycles now haven't you? My doctor had told me to keep track, never know they might see you a little bit earlier than March! Fingers crossed it happens soon 🤞🏻 I was reading up what they test for the other day, as I've had some of the hormonal tests for PCOS testing, all very confusing and who knows if it's different for different places, what the doctor thinks best etc! X

HT1335 · 09/01/2021 18:26

@HJen22 yeah I can do an online form I was also kind of holding off as I thought AF would have appeared by now so if more information but I spose it’s a worry that it’s not here so I’ll be calling or contacting them somehow on Monday
Oh I really hope we do get our BFPs by then so much! Yes we’ve been ttc for the same amount of time, so hopefully feb is our month 🤞🏻🤞🏻😊

HJen22 · 09/01/2021 18:08

@HT1335 you came off the pill same time as me, March didn't you? Same, I was thinking is it going to be hard to get an app now the vaccine is being done! Could you perhaps do an online app, I've done that twice since Covid and the doctor calls back. And then they could make an app for you? I hope it doesn't come to that and we both get BFPs before then 🤞🏻 try and stay positive, so much easier said than done I know and I have days where I just feel like it's never going to happen. But it will, for us all 🥰

HT1335 · 09/01/2021 18:05

@HJen22 no I haven’t spoken to the doctors yet it was mayhem with them doing the Covid vaccines so I’ll do it on Monday and ask if I can have anymore tests done. Then I will be referred hopefully in March I was hoping it wouldn’t come to that but it’s now looking very likely, I will try and remain positive. I’m also unsure as to whether to get the Covid vaccine as j can get it now with being frontline nhs but totally unsure with ttc and I feel a bit pressured to get it for safety of colleagues, patients and myself but I can’t decide what to do... feel like forgetting about everything for a while but it’s not that easy is it!
I’m sure you’ll be fine I totally see how you got stressed about it tho, good luck
@lastbany I hope you’re all ok!

HJen22 · 09/01/2021 17:34

@HT1335 thank you, I hope so too! Wasn't what I needed to receive through the post haha! 44 days, how annoying for you! Did you manage to get a hold of the doctor? X

@lastbany fingers crossed 🤞🏻 it's less stressful in the way of not tracking isn't it, but I think I might next cycle, just the CB OPKs. I am glad you aren't feeling too bad! My BFs daughter was meant to go home today but her little sister has tested positive so she's here another 2 weeks at least, more home schooling for us 😂🙈 x

lastbany · 09/01/2021 15:45

@HJen22 same here! No checking this month! Just dtd and hope for best!
Was a routine test on my daughter and she had it!!! Symptoms seem to have started three days after results! Mostly exhaustion! I have tested neg (no idea how) so hoping my exhaustion is early preg lol who knows we're not too bad though feel lucky x

HT1335 · 09/01/2021 15:44

@HJen22 oh I’m sorry to hear this I really hope everything is ok and it doesn’t have any affect on ttc. Hopefully they are just being over cautious, I have had the colcoscopy a while ago now that in itself is not a pleasant experience, but hopefully they will check and you won’t need any further intervention!
I’m still waiting now on day 44, no sign of AF and not pregnant, the joys of being in limbo again

HJen22 · 09/01/2021 15:35

@lastbany oh I'm so sorry to hear your partner and children have tested positive, how are they all feeling, and how are you?

Thank you for your positive words, it's just a scary letter to get isn't it! I've had a colposcopy years ago and didn't need any treatment so hoping it comes to nothing this time too 🤞🏻 I am so sensitive just now it just sent me into such a panic! I'm so sorry your nana died of it, so sad. Current cycle I'm 5dpo, didn't do any tracking this month just have tried to DTD every second/third if not. Have you had any symptoms?
