@Bells20 that sounds super positive! Did you do OPKs I can't remember if you've said? Either way EWCM sounds really promising 👏🏻

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 12:49

@Emmgrem I've been reading loads about ovulating once you come off the pill before AF. And basically I can sum up the following

  • you may not ovulate before you get your natural period. Some women take 2-3 cycles to ovulate again
  • many women ovulate within 2 weeks of coming off the pill
  • some women may take 2-4 weeks to ovulate without AF (that includes me at CD27 looks like I've ovulated)
-you can ovulate a few days after missed pills - could be you!

So basically although the norm of a cycle is 2 weeks, we aren't the norm! Because we haven't had AF we are still waiting! I would be looking at it as a positive if I were you and go DTD 💃🏼🙌🏼 either way your body is trying something which is fab! xxx

GreenApplesYo · 17/11/2020 12:41

@emmgrem hmm no I reckon if you have ovulated you will probably get AF (or ideally a BFP) at 12-14dpo ish. I don't think your luteal phase would be longer?

If this does happen, I don't think it would mean you have a 3 week cycle. I think that you'd probably go on to have normal 4 week-ish cycles.

Because you haven't had a natural AF only a withdrawal bleed (?) you're not actually in a normal cycle at the moment. So I don't think you can judge what your cycles will be like based on this time now?

But... You might not have ovulated making all this redundant anyway haha 🙂

positivitytree2020 · 17/11/2020 12:18

Haha thanks for the advice everyone, sometimes you forget about the pressure it puts on your OH too! 😊 sometimes I feel like I’m the only one under pressure with the BBT & OPK tracking! 😂 we’ll try again after work and if needs be we’ll resort to shakey shakey ! 😂🙈

Emmgrem · 17/11/2020 12:18

@Bells20 @AMS19
Thanks for your help guys. I've ordered the easy@home OPKs so probably can afford to start testing a bit more often, especially as we are now POAS anonymous after all!
I did have pains as well as the EWCM, but sometimes I wonder whether the mind plays tricks, and it's probably normal to have some discomfort as things are adjusting when I've only just come off the pill.

@GreenApplesYo thanks. If I did ovulate early due to coming off the pill, should I still expect to have a standard length cycle (all being well) or would early ovulation mean I should adjust my dates and expect AF to happen early too? Which would mean only having a three week cycle Confused

Whoever said tracking BBT and taking OPKs might be more stressful than it's worth wasn't wrong! I'm the type of person who likes all the data to be able to analyse everything and understand my body though. I find it really interesting and gives me some focus haha. But then also trying the SMEP too to cover all bases.

GreenApplesYo · 17/11/2020 11:59

@bells20 @positivitytree2020 it probably didn't help that I said to DP 'inseminate me' as well as showing him my wet opk hah. I was joking, but I wouldn't recommend saying this. He still brings it up sometimes, I can't believe you said that.

GreenApplesYo · 17/11/2020 11:49

@emmgrem ohh sorry didn't realise that you're not in a standard cycle, but you were counting from a withdrawal bleed. In that case I don't think it would be 'early' as you can ovulate as soon as you come off the pill?

It wouldn't really matter if you had ovulated because you DTD, but a little weird not knowing it was happening I guess (if it has happened)!

I'd keep an open mind either way? See what happens with those temps 🙂

Bells20 · 17/11/2020 11:45

@positivitytree2020 I've also been mindful of OH feeling the pressure although it hasn't happened with yet fortunately, I'm just planning not to tell him too much about my peak to try and avoid this. Difficult not to share the excitement when it happens though. Defo ran into the kitchen with a still piss wet OPK last month exclaiming that it was time to start banging.

@Emmgrem I also think cd6 looks quite strong, it does seem a bit early but not impossible to have ovulated as others have said defo keep dtd and see what your temperatures do and if fertility friend gives you those crosshairs on your chart soon. When I first started using OPKs I do remember reading that not everyone gets really high percentages and sometimes people can peak at lower than that, but not sure how accurate that is- you can find anything on the internet can't you.

I'm CD10 today post withdrawal bleed and lots of EWCM this morning so will keep tracking, dtd more often and lots of crossing fingers for a peak in the coming days!

jessi60 · 17/11/2020 11:39

@positivitytree2020 Aw yay that’s good news for you!!
I hate having to time when dtd, much prefer it to happen naturally without putting pressure on things🙁
I’ll have to get the toys out to spice things up🤣 x

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 11:15

@Emmgrem CD6 does look quite strong so at least you DTD on CD 5! It looks almost as dark as the control line and that really what you want to be looking for? I would keep DTD just in case x

Emmgrem · 17/11/2020 11:02

@DrS44 yep that's the highest on premom although that one did come up as 68% high on Femometer but I've heard that's not as accurate.
So I'm just hoping that means my body still has another chance to try at ovulation this month and it was just gearing up? 😬 Seeing Femometer tell me id already ovulated just confused me this morning!

Emmgrem · 17/11/2020 11:01

@AMS19 Thank you for that. I hope my body keeps trying and that wasn't it for this month! At least I DTD just before to cover my bases. But like you said that early in the cycle seems unlikely. I started CD1 as first day of my withdrawal bleed.. so only other thing I can think is maybe I should've counted CD1 as the first day off the pill instead, as that was an extra 5 days before.

Seeing yours is helpful. How do you know you definitely didn't ovulate then? Yours seemed to rise and fall a few times? Or does FF mark the ovulation day for you when it believes you have?

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 11:00

@Emmgrem is that your highest OPKs in that picture?

AMS19 · 17/11/2020 10:52

@Emmgrem if you were further in your cycle i would have said it definitely looks like ovulation but I just can't see that early on. Also, FF hasn't added the cross hairs so even the app doesn't think it could have happened. But on paper it would look like your body tried. Keep with the BBT and OPK testing, I would for now assume you haven't ovulated and your hormones are just all over the place. I've attached my chart for my cycle straight off the pill in case helpful! I didnt ovulate that cycle but my temps were jumping all over the place!

Emmgrem · 17/11/2020 10:47

@DrS44 We DTD on CD5, so the day before I got a .7 on my OPK. Although Premom still counts .7 as low 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I kept testing and it fell back down after that and went to 0 again since.

@AMS19 Thank you! I've added the FF chart so you can see what you think? Reassuring to know your temps were all over the place too though!

@GreenApplesYo Thanks, ok I'll try to ignore Femometer. So many other apps only measure in Fahrenheit though which is annoying! I don't think I would have missed the peak as o tested multiple times and it started going back now. I've attached that pic too.

@DrS44 yes I think I'll start putting my info at the end of my questions to make it easier!

Also I am very keen for seeing photos of puppies. We have two Staffies and they are basically our children. I can't actually imagine how much we will love a baby 😂

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 10:21

@positivitytree2020 hahah ya exactly I'll be like whambam thank you ma'am next cycle 😂 will be well over the baby making and being like get it into me 🤣🤣🤣
@AMS19 I have a visual of a cowgirl 😂 or you know when you try to jump onto a rodeo bull holding on to its horns 😂😂😂 it's the little things that get me 🙌🏼 also 5 weeks 😍🥰👏🏻

@GreenApplesYo ya I know exactly what you mean it's so hard to remember! I will have it as my signature every time I'm asking a question 😂 ya it went down but 3 hours later went up very high so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm probably not gonna pay too much attention as I'm not doing it properly x

positivitytree2020 · 17/11/2020 10:14

@AMS19 haha just re-read and saw the hand job comment! 😂 I might have to resort to that later if I’m stuck! 😂

AMS19 · 17/11/2020 10:14

Who said babies are born out of love hey! Mainly born out of desperately trying to get sperm out and back in! 😂😂

@DrS44 good idea about the status thing! Im 22DPO, 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow 🤞🤞

positivitytree2020 · 17/11/2020 10:13

@DrS44 ya we’ll try again later this evening! Haha we started off like that on Cycle 1 trying to make it as romantic as possible! 😂 now on Cycle 3 and just want to get it done and dusted, how unromantic of me! 😂

@AMS19 good thinking about not mentioning it, I got ahead of myself this morning! I didn’t say anything last Cycle, just because I wasn’t tracking it anyway! We DTD 14 times in 9 days last Cycle and on the last day he had the same issue (never had this issue in all the years we’ve been together) so figured he was just worn out! 😂 didn’t matter anyway coz I had a feeling it was well after peak so didn’t really need to do it!

Typical though on my first proper fertile day this cycle! 😐 will try again later, any other suggestions if the same thing happens? 😂

PowerOfFlowers · 17/11/2020 10:12

Hello new thread! Love the name - great work @AMS19 😀 Also love the dtd story! Hahaha!
That is so exciting @positivitytree2020 - go go go!! 🤣
I'm cd9 today! Woke up and went out for a run. Came back, saw my themometer on the bedside table and remembered I hadn't taken my bbt!! D'oh!! I'm going to put a reminder to go off with my alarm from tomorrow. I mean, the thing is RIGHT next to me and I still forgot!
Feel great otherwise 🤣

GreenApplesYo · 17/11/2020 10:04

@DrS44 haha it is definitely tricky to keep track with no faces to go with the names. I feel rude having to ask what cycle day etc people are on all the time... It would definitely be really handy if you signed off your message with your cycle day/dpo haha.

I think it's fairly common for temps to go down for 1 day soon after ovulation and then to go back up again. If you haven't already, google image search bbt fallback rise? lots of examples 🙂but it could just be your temp was lower because you were taking it earlier...

What kind of puppy do you have? Can we have a picture? 🙂🙂

@emmgrem hmmm I wonder if you did ovulate and just didn't see the peak on your OPKs... Will you keep doing the OPKs anyway? Sounds like sleep etc shouldn't have made a difference.

@positivitytree2020 yes mine got the stage fright as well. He did finish, usually he is very attentive, but the time directly after I got the peak reading he basically just put it in and pumped away hahah. If we hadn't conceived, then the next cycle I was going to not tell him exactly which day I got a peak opk. Haha @AMS19 I love your hand job story. So determined 🙂

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 10:03

@AMS19 😂😂 brilliant love it! Good idea not telling them... I can't keep my mouth shut though 😂 xx

AMS19 · 17/11/2020 09:54

@positivitytree2020 I didnt tell my husband in case that happened. So we DTD 7 times in 5 days. On Peak day we DTD twice, and he struggled to finish. Not our of stage fright but he was drained out i think from the other 6 times 😂😂 so I essentially used mt hands and jumped on at the last second 😂😂😂

DrS44 · 17/11/2020 09:53

@positivitytree2020 ahhh man that's annoying! Try again later. Hasn't happened yet but I'm wary of it! I keep making massive efforts to make it exciting, dressing up, surprising him at random moments, drawing a bath with candles, heels (these are key 😂) but it is only our first month and I'm gonna get fairly sick of that soon! Last night for example it wasn't as seductive 🤣🤣

Dont worry though you have time! I did read a thing that said foreplay (not the saliva type though 😅) was really good for sperm! Top tip gals 💃🏼
