@Hanbanxx - My cycle is only looking a little bit longer, with both of my MCs it was 5 weeks rather than my usual 29 days, but I think to be expected. MY HCG levels were at 300 about 2 days before I started to miscarry this time around.

But yes, CD1 is day 1 of your MC. I think I ovulated on CD19/20 this cycle.

The only bit of advice I would give you, is that after my 1st MC, with the exception of the first cycle, they were a bit longer. I was using the clear blue advanced but on our 2nd cycle despite my "peak fertility" appearing a few days later than normal, I was still a week late for AF (BFN on PT too).

On my third cycle, I was so late ovulating I gave up on my Clearblue Advanced as there were so many days of "high fertility" but no "peak".

On my 4th cycle after my MC (which we got pregnant on) I started using the cheapies alongside my Clearblue. The ability to carry on testing for LH after my "peak" meant that I was able to realise that I was attempting to ovulate, failing to do so and then successfully managing it on attempt #2 a few days later - but the Clearblue wasn't able to pick up on this.

So I would be patient with your cycles after your MC, they can be a bit off but you will ovulate. It meant that out of our 4 cycles after miscarriage, we were only DTD at the right time twice.

I hope that helps! X

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/12/2020 08:06

So, 1 week after surgery and a PT still shows a clear positive. I guess it's a waiting game! Will test again in another week.

Does seem v unfair that itll likely be well over 2 months from finding out to when we can try again

Hanbanxx · 06/12/2020 20:19

@eloiseislost I really do get some comfort that there is someone out there in the same situation as me! I'm hoping my cycle will be "normal" this month. My hormone level was very low on Tuesday (two days after MC) at only 15 so I hope that is of some benefit to me. I'm testing with OPKs daily but they are, unsurprisingly, very low at the moment. I also hope that for you too, 2021 will be our year!!! 🌈❤️

@J785948 thank you so much. I am so hopeful that my cycle will be normal this month as my hormone level was extremely low on Tuesday at 15. Does cycle day 1 start from the day of MC?

J785948 · 06/12/2020 19:56

Hey @Hanbanxx

Sorry for your loss - but welcome to the group. Hopefully talking to other people in the same situation can help. I had a miscarriage about 3 weeks ago at 6 weeks - sadly it was our second (had a MMC earlier this year too) but we have decided to crack on again straight away. I feel like at least getting on with trying again is the one thing we can control, which I think some women feel the same about.

I am currently 2DPO, AF is due on the 18th December. Am also using OPKs too to help things along.

Best of luck with this cycle! Hopefully it will work out for all of us soon xx

MSG92 · 06/12/2020 19:48

@meganlaura and DTD did the deed (sex) DH Dear husband OH other half

eloiseislost · 06/12/2020 19:46

Hi @Hanbanxx! I am in the exact same situation as you. TTC since September, miscarried at 6+2 last Wednesday. Ready to start again, I wouldn't even dream of taking a break as my way of coping is to have some semblance of control in my life. Conception is largely outwith our control but at least the process of TTC has an element of predictability. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wish you the best of luck and a beautiful rainbow baby in your arms soon! 🌈
Same for everyone else, may 2021 be our year!! 😃

Hanbanxx · 06/12/2020 18:49

Hi everyone, I really hope you don't mind me joining this chat. I would really like to talk to others who are going through what I am going through.

I am 26 and started to TTC in September 2020, although me and my boyfriend have wanted children for a very long time. We were supposed to get married this December but given the current situation, we decided to try for a baby earlier.

I had my MC last Sunday at 6+2. It was painful and traumatic but we are so ready to try again. My bleeding stopped on Tuesday and I have started using OPKs. I have read lots of different things about people have success TTC straightaway but understand that it can take a while for our bodies to adjust. I have everything crossed that it won't take us long but I am so afraid. I never knew that MC was so common and terrified that it could happen again.

Hope to be able to get to know you ladies more x

susiebluebell · 06/12/2020 18:37

Hi @meganlaura! So sorry to read what you've been going through. I miscarried my first pregnancy in August too, although didn't have medical intervention as it passed naturally. The August ladies are especially close to my heart ♥

I googled 'mumsnet abbreviations' when I joined and that sorted me out. But the main ones you see on this thread are
TTC - trying to conceive
MC - miscarriage
MMC - missed miscarriage
CP - chemical pregnancy
AF - Aunt Flo (period)
CD - cycle day
BFN - big fat negative
BFP - big fat positive!

Any others I've missed? Xx

susiebluebell · 06/12/2020 18:31

@CLSM There is a tiny part of me that is thinking 'Ooh, light bleeding is common in pregnancy', and my OH said it too, unprovoked, but I'm too jaded to get carried away on that line of thinking.

It's been v light for first day of AF, less than one menstrual cup, but all the 'feelings' are consistent with AF. The usual mantra... Wait and see.

I'm so sorry about the BFN 👎🏻BOO! But as other ladies have said here in the past, it's your body cleaning itself out to make a beautiful strong new lining for a future baby, so there's always positives! Xx

MSG92 · 06/12/2020 18:22

Hi @susiebluebell that sucks... I hope it isn't AF but if it is make make the most of the lead up to Christmas and spoil yourself before cracking on again.

Hope everyone is having a cosy December evening and treating yourself if you are feeling low

Sorry you're joining @SenoraSurf @TheDaydreamBelievers @Garman and @meganlaura this is a great group even tk just vent when your feeling low, and share your good news when it comes, AND IT WILL.

@CLSM sorry your test was negative :/ it's still early as you are testing before AF, wait until after AF is due, I always found a BFN harder than AF personally.

meganlaura · 06/12/2020 17:42

Thank you for showing me this thread @TheDaydreamBelievers. I've felt very alone in this process as non of my friends are trying. We miscarried at 9 weeks (first pregnancy) and I had a d&c day after scan on 20th August. I've had two heavy periods since and don't feel like I've been ovulating. We got pregnant very quickly last time and this time round seems like it's never going to happen and I still don't feel myself. Feeling very deflated. P.s. can someone please explain the abbreviation lingo in this thread - I'm new x

Ra1nb0w85 · 06/12/2020 15:23

@J785948 thank you :)
I don't always comment on here but follow everyone's comments on this long ttc journey. I find it so comforting knowing I'm not alone and the reassurance you all give, without even knowing it, is amazing. Sending you all best wishes X

CLSM · 06/12/2020 14:54

@Mustkeepgoing2 so sorry for what you have been through. Had MMC and surgical procedure in October and waited for first period before trying again so this is first cycle since. I probs sounds silly but had the the same thought as you a Xmas BFP. You never know I could take another test in the week and it’s positive, I’m still holding on to a tiny bit of hope as my period still not due for 3 days and it was my 2nd urine of the day so possibly not detected enough HCG. At the same time don’t want to think too positively encase. I really hope you get your BFP soon x

Mustkeepgoing2 · 06/12/2020 14:40

@CLSM @susiebluebell
Sorry to hear AF has arrived or looks like she is on her way.

@CLSM I completely understand how you are feeling. I think I had convinced myself this was the month but actually AF arrived two days ago. It is a really low feeling coupled with the PMS hormones flying around your disappointment is completely understandable.

I have also just found out three friends are expecting too which is lovely because one in particular has been trying for a while but it is always going to feel bitter sweet and in truth I don't think we would be human if we didn't feel a bit of jealousy

T can be hard too because the other two have not been trying long and have never had loses so some of the things they say can feel incredibly hurtful and I have to tell myself I know they don't mean to be but I do understand in a way too because prior to this year this all felt a world away to be too.

I think this time of year is particularly hard because I personally have this romantic view that a Christmas BFP would just make it all good again when really December is just another month and another cycle.

How long have you been trying for. I am now in my second cycle from my MMC but I also had an ectopic in June and a chemical shortly after that so it's been a long old year.
Xxxx

J785948 · 06/12/2020 13:06

@Ra1nb0w85 - I don't think they can affect OPK, I just recon your ovulating a bit earlier this month - I haven't had the same number of flashy faces before my static one so I think it can vary!

Perfect timing with dtd too! X

Ra1nb0w85 · 06/12/2020 12:55

Hi ladies. I wondered if any of you might be able to help. I had my first flashy face this cycle on an OPK yesterday, normally I get 3 of 4 flashes before the static. Anyway, this morning I had a static ... but I used fmu after dtd. So my question is, and sorry for tmi!!, but can sperm affect OPK's? X

CLSM · 06/12/2020 11:53

So I’ve just taken an advanced test and it was BPN. I’m devastated!

CLSM · 06/12/2020 11:52

So I’ve just taken an advanced test and it was BPN. I’m decanted!

CLSM · 06/12/2020 10:53

@susiebluebell in my last pregnancy I kept feeling like AF was coming but was pregnant. Light bleeding is also normal so don’t give up hope just yet as that’s quite a long cycle. Have you taken a test?

susiebluebell · 06/12/2020 10:25

Hi @Garman @SenoraSurf @TheDaydreamBelievers so sorry you're here, but you're in good company and we're all in this rocky boat together! Xx

susiebluebell · 06/12/2020 10:24

I've just had some light bleeding start. From the feeling in my lower stomach, I'd say it's AF.

So just a random 48-day cycle then, compared to my normal 34 days??

CLSM · 06/12/2020 09:50

Hi everyone I’m so upset I had a very tiny bit of very pale pink when I wiped and just really feel like my period is going to start. I just feel like everyone around me is having babies so easily and I’m not and it’s so hard. My friends are supportive but they just don’t get it as they have babies already. Period is due Wednesday but that would be 31/32 cycle, in slightly irregular and can be 28-32 days but this may have changed since the surgical procedure. Sorry for being moany I just don’t think I can take all the trying and then disappointment when not pregnant x

Runnergirl1 · 05/12/2020 21:21

So sorry to have so many new ladies join us but you will find lots of ears to listen. I don’t know what I would have done without this thread since my mmc in July x

Garman · 05/12/2020 20:41

Hi everyone,

Hoping to join in here, sadly! This time last week as far as I knew I was 10 weeks pregnant with my third, had seen a heartbeat and everything going fine at 6+5, which even though I know the chances of miscarriage in the first tri I did hope/assume the best as my symptoms were strong, shape changing and all the same as my previous pregnancies. Unfortunately last Sunday I started suddenly spotting and cramping, by Monday night was essentially in full labour. Passed the sac on Wednesday which appeared empty, sonographer yesterday reckons the baby died soon after the scan at 6-7 weeks. Feel like the last month was a total lie!

Thankfully I passed the last of the tissue yesterday after the scan and have avoided needing to take medication to do it. No idea what happens next with ttc after a miscarriage but that's what where I'm heading, all advice welcome Smile

SenoraSurf · 05/12/2020 20:37

Hi all,

First time I've clicked on conception board since MC last Friday at 6.5 weeks.

Hoping it's ok to join? Desperate to get pregnant again for dc2 (have been trying june).

Going to do a test tomorrow to check for bfn and then get back on the opk's. Bleeding now stopped so hopeful we'll catch quickly.

Looking forward to the journey with you all and am sorry for everyone's losses Thanks
