Hey girls, who'd have thought we would need another thread!

We welcome other long standers as we have all been ttc for quite while! (All of us about 18 months +)

With the greatest respect, if you are new to ttc, this isn't the thread for you as we are all angry and hormonal 😂😂

@PrettyTulip how did the growth scan go? Is that a 28 week one? I have one around that time as well :)

Yep alot of women have said that even if stretch marks look really angry at the moment, they do fade afterwards so hopefully that's the same for you!

PrettyTulip · 27/06/2022 20:43

@Annny27 ah okay yeah I think that's when I had mine. Got my first growth scan this week too 😃

Yes I've been using lotion and thought I was doing okay and now they're just everywhere, hate them so much! I envy people who don't get any at all - but I'm trying to remember how much it will all be worth it 😢

Hope you're cooking nicely xxx

Annny27 · 27/06/2022 13:59

Hello @PrettyTulip :) nope I have it next Friday (I am 22+3 atm and having it at 24 weeks)

Awwh sorry that the stretch marks have arrived :( I haven't noticed any yet although my belly button (I had it pierced in my teens ....) is stretching not very nicely.

Have you used any creams? (Apperntly they don't do anything anyway!)

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 27/06/2022 05:07

Have you had your test and results now @Annny27 ??

28w now and lots of movement, although the stretch marks have really made me feel miserable 😢

Annny27 · 15/06/2022 21:57

Yeah it's gonna be so annoying sitting around at the hospital for 2 hours!! @PrettyTulip

I have been getting such strong kicks today I love it 😍😍 have you started thinking about your nursery yet?

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 10/06/2022 20:37

@Annny27 drink wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Very sugary but manageable. It's the waiting around that's the worst part.

Aww 🥰 glad all is well.
It does still very surreal I know exactly what you mean! Can't believe we are on the same journey together though. Makes it even more special xx

Annny27 · 10/06/2022 19:39

@PrettyTulip glad your test went well :D how was the sugary drink?

And yep scan was great, no issues :) officially 20 weeks today and halfway point. Can hardly believe it some days same as you I imagine haha!

PrettyTulip · 10/06/2022 13:06

@Annny27 how did your scan go?

Luckily I don't have GD so that's one less worry 🥰 finally heard the heartbeat too which was so nice! Xx

Annny27 · 05/06/2022 11:05

@PrettyTulip yep I guess its better to know that you have it than not! My test Is at beginning of July. You will have to tell me how the drink tastes haha

Ahh yeah it's so unknown with what carseat or pram is best! We have our 20 week scan next week. Baby has been kicking a little bit every day which is nice :D I know they shouldn't have a pattern yet but it makes me happy when I feel them 🥰

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 01/06/2022 08:34

@Annny27 oh I wonder why you have - I'm so nervous in case I have it! But can't be helped I suppose 🫠

Not really, I find picking this stuff stressful. I'm an over thinker anyway so I always worry in case it's wrong or we've wasted money on something that won't be used etc.
tbh I'm just happy to finally be buying baby stuff after all this time!!

Hope you're cooking nicely xx

Annny27 · 26/05/2022 09:28

Thank you @ChampooPapi so sweet! I know how you feel, having spoken to people in mumsnet for years it's lovely to see good news from people :) how are you and your girls getting on? The wins must be 18 months plus now!

@PrettyTulip oh wow was it fun picking out a pram etc? No we haven't even thought about stuff yet but I have been getting Instagram ads for gorgeous neutral clothing so I may get suckered in soon haha!

I have been referred for a gestational diabetes check too (which is confusing because I am a size 6 haha!) But maybe I have some other risk factors I am not aware of!

ChampooPapi · 25/05/2022 22:27

@Annny27 oh my god! Congratulations! This has made my week woman 💜 so happy for you, really couldn't have asked for anything better to find when I logged into Mumsnet, you will make such a wonderful mum, all the love to you and your family. So exciting!

PrettyTulip · 17/05/2022 12:45

@Annny27 yes we've got a few bits of clothing, the travel system and brought a next to me at the weekend. Have you brought anything yet?

Yes I'm negative and had the baby's blood checked. It came back negative too 🥰
Just waiting for the gestational diabetes check next 🥺

Hope you're doing okay xx

Annny27 · 17/05/2022 11:01

Oh and you are rhesus negative too aren't you? I have already had an anti d injection due to a knock to my bump and having another one due to another knock 🙈🙈🙈 hopefully no more haha

Did they test babies blood group for you?

Annny27 · 17/05/2022 11:00

@PrettyTulip feeling proper kicks must be lovely!! Have you bought anything for baby yet?

I only feel movements when they are on the right hand side really. And there are often days where they move out of the way of where I can feel them and then a few days later I feel them again. I think that's normal for this stage though

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 13/05/2022 21:47

@Annny27 the 16w appts are done over the phone in my area so don't actually meet the midwife face-to-face until 24w.
Amazing that you've been able to listen in though! I'm so jealous!
Yes, deffo more rounded now and feeling little kicks 😊 xx

Annny27 · 13/05/2022 21:45

That's crazy! @PrettyTulip our midwife listened at our 16 week appointment as well which was reassuring. She found it straight away AND I have been feeling them move on one side its so surreal 🤩🤩🤩

Have you got a bump now? I do have a little one

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 10/05/2022 17:52

@Annny27 that's lucky! We still haven't heard the heartbeat and probably won't until 24w 😭 xx

Annny27 · 10/05/2022 13:43

@PrettyTulip I couldn't believe how big they had got by 16 weeks, we got the most gorgeous photos (such a parent already thinking they are the most gorgeous fetus hahaha)

But I was just smitten by it and heard the heartbeat and everything 😍

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 10/05/2022 13:14

@Annny27 oh that's really good! I had a private scan at 15w and was told the same so that's a positive sign for your 20w one 😍

Annny27 · 10/05/2022 13:08

That's awesome:D @PrettyTulip I have mine booked for 4 weeks time. I am also in disbelief sometimes like wtf I am nearly 16 weeks pregnant!!

I had a 15/16 week anomaly scan today with the consultant and she said everything was looking normal structurally which was good! And I think I have been feeling some movement!!

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 10/05/2022 12:56

@Annny27 if does calm down a lot during 2nd trimester 😊
I've had my 20w scan and everything came back normal. I'm still finding this pregnancy so surreal - time to relax a little now though 🥰

Annny27 · 07/05/2022 08:53

@PrettyTulip I feel pretty good which is weird haha! Sickness has mostly gone, Bloating reduced etc. I know this happens in 2nd trimester but still feels weird haha!

Awwh how lovely that you have been maybe feeling movement 😍😍😍😍 I can't wait for that

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 04/05/2022 06:50

@Annny27 that's good then. How are you feeling atm?

No, not that I'm aware of. Think I've felt some tingling around my stomach area but haven't registered it as being movement yet, cannot wait until it's constant & obvious 😊

Annny27 · 03/05/2022 22:08

Are you feeling movements yet @PrettyTulip

I am so much less sick the further I go into 2nd trimester 🙌
