Oh another thought! 😊 my midwife was looking after a woman who was 50, she had a 25 year old done and grandchild and was shocked to fall pregnant at 50 but went ahead and was having a good pregnancy.

I’m not sure if this is helpful or not but I’m 41, due just before my 42nd birthday. Got pregnant first time trying. Fingers crossed for you all.

Yeah my dp grandma has her youngest at 48 ! It’s insane but uplifting to hear !!

Hi OP. It can and does happen. I finally had DS in my 40s after years of multiple miscarriages. Good luck

Hi lovelies. I am 40, 41 in January and been trying to conceive my third since March. Fell pregnant straight away but ended in miscarriage, fell pregnancy next month but sadly ended in a medical termination. Had a break tried again September no luck, October had a chemical and no luck this month. I have started a thread called Christmas bfps as I am trying to be positive and know it will happen but won’t be as easy as earlier years. I have 2 amazing sons ages 15 & 4. Fell really quickly with them and no loses.
Think 40+ it’s more of a rocky road but it is a road that we can handle and reach the other side. Don’t give up! Xxx

Hi, I'm 40 and have been trying on and off for 2 and a half years, stopped for a little while when I had an operation and needed time to recover.

I already have four children all Conceived pretty quickly and without problems.

I feel that time is running out and am considering fertility treatment (privately) Dh isn't as troubled as I am about time. Realistically I thought I'd have been pregnant by now, even though I know miscarriage is likely.

It's hard isn't it?

One of my gg grandmothers married at 40 and had seven live children. The last was born when she was 50. She had no previous children, so don't give up hope any of you.

I had my children at 42, 43 and 45 just before my 46th birthday.

DC1 took a year to conceive inc a MMC at the start. DC2 was a surprise and the result of a bottle of wine one Saturday night and a ‘it won’t happen I’m 43’ attitude. And DC3 was a ‘no one has a baby at 45 it will be fine’, we wasn’t trying that time! 😊

Tbh We tried SO hard for number DC1, we did everything! Ovulation kits, timing, changed diets, didn’t smoke anyway but had an odd glass of wine so we both stopped that.

DC2 and 3 were both conceived pretty much on a diet of coffee, biscuits and chocolate because DC1 was and still is a terrible sleeper.

You may have already covered this but I did have all the routine tests done after six months TTC. My egg count at 41 was low but good for age. But as the consultant told me, you only need one!

I'm 41 and pregnant - found it very easy to get pregnant. Unfortunately, 3 pregnancies ended in miscarriage but I think I had a blood clotting issue as with this pregnancy, I have taken 150 mg per day of aspirin from getting a positive pregnancy test and am now 30 weeks. My recurrent miscarriage testing was cancelled due to Covid so I don't know for sure.

But it's definitely possible to get pregnant easily even over 40 and I don't know if the blood clotting issue would have affected my pregnancies before now or if it's age related. I'd take a decent preconception vitamin (I took procieve which you can get on 3 for 2 at Boots), look into taking ubiquinol (helps with egg quality), eat well, try and relax (easier said than done I know!) and see how it goes.

We tried for DC 3 at 40, for just over a year. No problems conceiving the first 2 in my 30's.

3 miscarriages and a chemical and then we gave up and accepted it wouldn't happen. The number of MCs suggested to me that my eggs weren't good, and that even if one stuck there would probably be a high chance of genetic issues.

I would start ovulation tracking straight off if you're very serious about having another, rather than just if it happens it happens. You really don't have time on your side.

I’m TTC at 42. I have already had one missed miscarriage. I conceived my first three children super quickly in my late twenties and early 30s but it is taking longer this time and my only success ended in the miscarriage. It’s hard at this age but there are plenty of success stories so hopefully worth persevering. Good luck all.

As much as everyone says relax and let it happen, at this age I would pinpoint ovulation to maximise your chances. The reality is at over 40 miscarriages are common (40, three miscarriages in the last year, not sure if still trying)

To be honest, I would try and pinpoint ovulation. Chances are you won't fall pregnant straightaway and you may come to regret leaving it 6 months.

I got pregnant with my DD without really trying. I could feel ovulation, had sex once that week and voila. That is very much not my experience now and she's only just turned 2.

I'm 42 and have been ttc number 4 for nearly 3 years. I've had 4 CPs and one mmc. It's not a journey for the faint hearted.

I fell super easily with all my others but the youngest is 10 and the eldest 20 so a long time ago

Hi I had dc1 at 42, at it like rabbits for 3 months and conceived. I then got pregnant again but had a miscarriage. At it again like rabbits, had dc2 at 45. Good luck OP

I got pregnant at 42 with dd2 literally the first night we tried, I was 43 when she was born.

I am only on facebook to keep in contact with old school friends in a different country - and I don't generally post there. I have however noticed that there are quite a few with quite small children still, that would be consistent with their mothers having been 41-44 ish when they were born. Good luck.
