TTC - sex every day / other day

Hi!
Just wanted to see if other people think DTD every other day rather than every day is better?
I’ve been doing every day around my fertile days for months but now wondering if I should try every other day?

@Elizabeth5585 I spent a small fortune on the clear blue digitalis and the two times I've fallen pregnant I just used Amazon cheapies.

When we were trying for our little boy I purchased the clear blue ovulation tests so we knew when I was ovulating...we did the dead not every night as I read sperm count can be reduced and it needs time to build back up...I got caught the second month of trying...the clear blue tests are fab and u get smiley faces indicating ovulation xx

@SimplyAmy1 it took me 8 months to conceive after coming off the pill. The pregnancy ended in a mmc and I then fell pregnant again with my dd 8 months later.

@Elizabeth5585 I never really had much ewcm and I tried all the tricks like grapefruit juice in gallons and tons of water.
It isn't really necessary to temp during your period as they can fluctuate and are unreliable. It's essential to take your temp at roughly the same time each day for accuracy, however.

Well I’m 40. I think it does decline with age. When you’re younger you have 5 days of EWCM. I just have one day of it now.

It’s strange isn’t it. I do recall having lots at some point. Maybe it declines with age I’m 34

Yes I used preseed too. I only got EWCM on about 2 occasions over my fertile window. I wouldn't have known had I not looked when wiping.

I’ll start that then. My CM is so minimal it’s so hard to tell that’s why I thought preseed will work for that x

@Elizabeth5585 no you can start now. Do it as close to the same time every morning before you get out of bed. Don't have a drink, talk, do anything before it as it will affect your temperature.

Yes if your temperature goes up, fertility friend will report you have ovulated. Track your cervical mucus and intercourse as well so you can refer back to it if you need to.

Hi!

I need some advice really and see if anyone else is in the same boat as me.
I stoped taking the pill at the very end of September..... had all the very early symptoms but then came on my period.
We have had sex every day since the end of my period in October apart from the day before ovulation.... I’m currently 7DPO and hopeful again, how long did it take everyone to conceive after stopping the pill?

I’m on cycle day 5 now do you think it’s too late to start it this month? So if my temp goes up around ovulation I’ve definitely ovulated? Xx

Yes it will show you if you are ovulating. I used the app fertility friend to input my temperatures.

I've attached my graph for the month I got pregnant. You will see the red vertical line which is the day I ovulated. FF works this out when you have temperatures consistency rising over 3 days. So you'll notice my temperatures are higher for the second half of my cycle.

Make sure you are tracking your cervical mucus too. As soon as you see egg-white you need to get baby-dancing!!

I don’t know how to use the BBT but I’ve bought one online and going to try this cycle. I have no idea what I’m doing but maybe that will help me find out if I am actually ovulating? It’s crazy how I got pregnant with DS in the first month and now I can’t

I've done both with no success. I conceived when I dtd three times in 20 hours.

Have you been tracking your BBT? Thats a great way of tracking symptoms and seeing exactly when you ovulate. A OPK just tells you you are about to ovulate, it doesn't confirm you did or when you did.

I read an article saying that it's beneficial to do it twice in one hour! So we're going to try twice in 1 day when I get my peak this month.

DH could never manage twice in an hour. Twice in 24 he finds hard 😂

I would do it every other day over a longer period rather than every day on a very focussed window. The latter can mean you accidentally miss time it. Good luck.

Thanks ladies, I’ve been using CB ovulation tests and I’m definitely getting my smily face peaks on around day 14 so been dtd before on and after this but nothing. Last month I had two faint lines on different tests which ended up being nothing. It’s so disheartening

I used opks and DTD on the day I reached peak and the day after and I'm currently 5w4d good luck, I think it's all just timing x

I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and conceived in cycle 5 (had a CP cycle 3) but in cycle 5 we DTD everyday 5 days in a row over my ovulation window (I confirmed ovulation by temping) and was also the only month we used preseed! Good luck xx
