Two week wait - going crazy

I stupidly started testing WAYYY too early, at 6dpo, I’m now 8dpo, getting all negatives but having what I feel like are pregnancy symptoms. It’s my first month TTC so I don’t really know what I’m doing. When did everyone get their BFP’s? Please join the thread if you want to chat about the 2 week wait and symptoms

AF arrived for me this morning ladies, so I'm out xx good luck to all 😊

Wils85 · 02/11/2020 17:57

@3scompany no need to thank me lovely, what these threads are for, bit of moral support when you need it the most.

I think TTC/pregnancy does it to us all, and that's even before those pesky hormones get involved (which probably explains why you feel how you feel today!). I hate being cranky too, but sometimes we just got to roll with it, it will pass ❤️

Try stay calm and see how you get on over this next week. It's early days and they are the most nerve-wracking. I bet you've done what I do re the coil. You've seen or heard one thing that's says it possibly could reduce the chances of a successful pregnancy and you're brain has honed in on that and now you can't shake it. Like you say, there is no evidence to support that, try focus on that when that thought slips into your head. It's bloody hard to do that but it does eventually work.

Yea I'm ok, bit meh. Not felt quite as nauseous a d refluxy today but my boobs have been on and off sore today and when they've been sore I've know about it!! The closer I get to AF being due to more I think out this cycle. Can't decide if it's a gut feeling or just self preservation 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'll be so very upset of we aren't, just because of how extreme my symptoms have been this last few days. Realistically it's early days yet, it's only our second "proper" cycle since the MMC in July so TM body might not be back on track properly yet, even though I'm back on a 28 day cycle. Who the hell knows 🙈

Thank you lovely xxx

3scompany · 02/11/2020 16:44

Thank you @Wils85 ❤️ I have been peeing more tbh. And this was an afternoon test. I'll try again first thing. The test didn't look right at all and the indent was shiny (I don't know how else to describe it!)

The cramps are largely to one side (but that is typical of AF cramps too. Always ALWAYS to my right. I've told doc before and she just shrugged)

Thank you for being so lovely. And helping me calm my anxiety! I know what will be will be. And at this stage there's very little I can do about it. I guess it's the not knowing that's stressing me. I don't know why ttc/pregnancy does this to me.

I'm so cranky and mean today 😢 and I hate that. I want to shake myself!

I'm going to try and distract myself til the weekend then call the docs next week if I haven't bled. But I just can't shake this gut feeling. Feel like it's because it's my first cycle since the coil being out: like this reduces my chances of a successful pregnancy: although there's no evidence of that.

I hope you're ok? How you getting on?? Much love and positivity your way xxx

Wils85 · 02/11/2020 15:18

Hi @3scompany try not to stress too much, much easier for me to say than for you to do. Let's try out it into context, it might help? When did you test and how soon beforehand bad you peed, also how much had you been drinking?

I ask as when OPK-ing this month I had a fairly strong line and then nothing so I panicked. I got a definite positive the next day and when I thought about it I had drunk a shed load and peed not long before I tested. So it made the faint lines make sense.

Cramping is always scary but I understand that some cramping can be normal in early pregnancy too. Tour sore boobs might also come and go, mine did after I got my BFP with my first. As you know that ended in TMFR but I got to 14 weeks with sore boobs coming and going throughout.

Try and stay positive, again easier said than done. I have a little understanding of how your feeling, but every women is different. I'm sending you so much love and light and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all is well with your little bean, I'm sure it is xxx

crabette · 02/11/2020 14:39

I'm only 3DPO, but AF is due in a week - I think I have a super short luteal phase, been tracking the last few months without properly TTC, and it seems AF appears about 10DPO. So my TWW might actually be closer to a week and a half!

Not sure whether to try an early test or try to hold off... this is also month #1 TTC for me; and DC #1, so I don't want to drive myself nuts - but equally, want to know asap!

Maybe it's just in my head, but starting to feel something - not quite cramp, but maybe the beginnings of? So not sure if this is just AF stirrings, or something else. Not sure if any pregnancy symptoms would be as early as 3DPO - but also not typical for AF symptoms either I guess.

3scompany · 02/11/2020 14:13

Hello ladies. I hope you're all ok! And we get some more bfps.

I'm a bit worried about mine 😣 I had a positive digital yesterday 1-2weeks. But today I tested with a cheapy and just got a very white indent line. I've had cramps all day yesterday and today and my boobs have stopped hurting 😢 I'm feeling very sad and doubtful this will go well for me. Xx

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 19:48

@Char1803 thank you this helped me also! Will definitely try red dye (frer) at end of the week, have 2 being delivered tomorrow! Will be 11 dpo on Friday so will see what happens 🤞

PosiPantsOn · 01/11/2020 18:51

Hi all, hope it’s ok to join in too. Very new to all this but currently 5dpo and have a history of bonkers cycles. Ovulation confirmed with temp spike and static smiley so feels promising! So good to hear some positive stories and the support on this thread seems amazing. Planning to test later next week?! Trying to remain sane!

StarMeKitten40 · 01/11/2020 18:35

Yeah I’ve heard this and it is textbook implantation spotting I’ve never had anything like it so I’m hopeful. But again don’t want to set myself up for a disappointment. Reality is I’m 40 so I know that it’s gonna take longer if it happens at all.

StarMeKitten40 · 01/11/2020 18:32

I think I’ll try with First Response test end of the week I’ve read they are far more sensitive on recent reviews. I’ll also keep an eye out for signs of ovulation and track that again this cycle just to see what’s going on.

Char1803 · 01/11/2020 18:25

Sorry @Foxl2222 I didn't realise it had been @StarMeKitten40 who asked about people getting positives after negatives 🤣🙈

Char1803 · 01/11/2020 18:23

@StarMeKitten40 it could have been implantation bleeding you may have just implanted late?? I didn't have any spotting or bleeding but I know a lot of people do?
As I mentioned earlier I had BFN on clear blue tests and other blue dye tests when I was getting positives on FRER. My sister in law said to me that the pink/red dye tests always seem to show up earlier?

Char1803 · 01/11/2020 18:20

@Foxl2222 I had negative 9dpo and a positive 12dpo with FRER. 13dpo I was still getting negatives on blue dye tests including clear blue.
Yes when they say missed period that would be the day after AF is due so really will only work from 5 days before AF is due xx

CMS18 · 01/11/2020 18:18

@Wils85 awh thank you but it’s really hard not to get fixated I’m such an organised person and like to be in control of everything lol! So it’s hard to try be calm about it I said I wouldn’t this time and I’m already using ovulation sticks, tracking bbt etc

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 18:14

@Wils85 sorry to hear about TFMR.. I'm sure that is having a big impact on how you're feeling. Sending lots of positivity your way. Still a good few days to go, I've read about others having bfn at that stage so 🤞🤞
And if not meant to be this month we're all here for you! Keep us updated xx

*rookie question- when the early detection tests say "detectable 6 days before your missed period" - what day is this? So AF due 10th November if it doesn't arrive on that day, is 11th the day of my missed period? In which case test would detect on 5th? 🤔
Hope that makes sense xx

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 18:05

@StarMeKitten40 it is so hard, I get myself almost seeing lines that don't exist, having read about others having faint lines - I was trying to convince myself there was something. But in reality it's just me being bonkers.
Have you decided if your going to take another test? Will have everything crossed for you. Xx
So happy to have found this thread, will be testing end of week again around 12dpo. Keep telling myself I won't be too disappointed at a bfn or arrival of AF as it's only first cycle trying, but nice to have a forum to discuss it. OH is great but completely oblivious to my obsessing 🤣🙈 xx

StarMeKitten40 · 01/11/2020 17:48

@Foxl2222 I honestly know how you feel when thinking you’ve conceived and then not doing. Kinda feel like you’ve been the butt of some cruel joke. I like to think that each cycle we learn more about our bodies and that brings us closer to our success stories!! 😘

StarMeKitten40 · 01/11/2020 17:44

Thanks for making me welcome girls! It’s a tough journey to be on and so nice to be able to share and not send DH crazy! Out of interest has anyone here had a + after a - as tested too early?

Wils85 · 01/11/2020 17:01

Hello👋🏻 @StarMeKitten40 @cms18 @foxl2222 this is the loveliest thread to be a part of, so welcome!

@starmekitten40 you may ah e just missed your LH surge with missing that one day, if you had signs of ovulation then I'd run with that. Keeping a appendages crossed for you 🤞🏻

@cms18 well done you for giving yourself a break. Part of me thinks I need one too but the other half is fixated on my age and worries about lost time. I'm 35 on new year's eve, which I know is far from old but I feel like the clock is ticking so loudly in my own head 🙈 it's crazy how long your body can take to right itself after being on contraception. Hopefully you're more settled cycle will mean it happens quickly for you from here on in 🤞🏻🍀

@foxl2222 I've been having some woozy moments and I've been running warmer than usual. I'm always the colder out of me and DH, and always in layers. The last few nights I've been in and out of the quilt (still the summer quilt as DH rides hot) whereas normally I'm well and truly bundled up, and have had another blanket on top as well! It's so easy to get obsessed. I start to feel crazy symltom spotting and feeling sure, and then when I get a BFN or AF arrives, I feel embarrassed and like a complete tool, even though it's only DH, my BFF (and you fine ladies this cycle) that know what I've been experiencing.

@3scompany don't know exactly when I ovulated. I got the first positive OPK FMU of day 14 and then had positives through to Day 15 FMU. So somewhere in there? I did feel some twinges and general discomfort in the late afternoon/eve of Day14 so maybe then 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've tried to track BBT but I always forget to temp before I get out of bed 🤦🏻‍♀️

I reckon I'm due on Wednesday or Thursday, so strictly speaking it's still early and I may yet not be disappointed. I've felt fairly rubbish again today, general undercurrent of nausea and reflux on eating, don't think my boobs have been quite as sore, but we've been busy socially distanced visiting today to try and see people before lockdown on Thursday as it's the last chance we will get, so I haven't really being paying too much attention, though I noticed the slight nausea.

If I'm honest I feel utterly deflated this evening. I'm just having a (body temperature, just in case) bath to try and relax. Like I said in my previous post, if I'm not PG, my body is being super cruel to me this cycle. This journey is so hard at times. I know how lucky we are to have been able to catch on previously fairly quickly, albeit they didnt work out. I just have to try and focus on that, so many others have it so much harder. It's coming up to a year since the TFMR so I don't think that's helping my headspace either. Poor DH 😔 he puts up with alot.

@acaciabluebell that could be quite promising! I'm a big believer in signs and dreams. That said I did dream my teeth fell out the other night... hopefully that one won't be a prophecy 🙄🙈😂

I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for all you ladies on this journey. Keep posting, Im loving how supportive we all are. Those who don't get their BFP this month (myself included if that's the way the dice fall) should meet up on a new thread next month. Those with their BFPs can also keep us updated on their journeys xxx

Wow! That was a long one, sorry for war and peace ladies 🙈😂

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 16:57

@Wils85 good luck to you🤞🍀 xx

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 16:53

@acaciabluebell I'm having similar dreams, it's just so consuming🙈 🤞🤞 for you that AF doesn't appear tomorrow!! Xx
@3scompany congrats to you on your bfp! What a lovely time of the year that will be to share your news 🥰
If any one has any tips on how not to test too early that would be great🙈🙈
Xx

acaciabluebell · 01/11/2020 16:41

So I've been noticing strange EWCM these past few days and also I've had crazy nausea too. I don't know if the nausea is just due to the foods I'm eating or not. Last night I also had a dream that I saw a positive pregnancy test 😂 I think it's because its been on my mind so much!!

3scompany · 01/11/2020 15:33

Hello 👋🏻 @Foxl2222 @CMS18 @StarMeKitten40 !!

@Wils85 I really do hope you get your bfp. The sore boobs and reflux things are promising. Do you know exactly when you ov'd? Much love to you too xxx

Foxl2222 · 01/11/2020 14:01

Hi ladies👋👋
So lovely to read this and know that I am not on this crazy journey alone. Hope it’s ok to join, I’m only 6dpo, 1st month trying. Initially OH was more keen on trying to start a family, I was more inclined to wait until the new year as we’re moving house in December, however I know it can take some time and have unfortunately seen friends and family struggle in the past so figured it’s better to start earlier. Since last period, I am OBSESSING!! Really shocked at myself about how I am feeling, finding myself so desperate for a BFP and looking ahead waaaay too much at such an early stage🙈 have actually already tested, this morning which was ofcourse bfn! I know it’s much too soon but couldn’t help myself. Have ordered some cheapies and Frer for later in the week, just hope I can stop myself testing again until at least 10/11dpo.
Was shopping yesterday (5 dpo) and found myself extremely hot, albeit I was wearing a coat and jumper but was with my mother in law who was fine, went to toilet and had to remove layers, I’m talking hot to the point of almost feeling dizzy which is unusual for me. Anyone else experienced this? Probably a coincidence but again it’s the obsessive symptom spotting🙈🙈
Congrats to all of you that have received good news 😊
And hopefully talking on here can offer some comfort to those who have not received the news they were hoping for. Baby dust to all 🥰

CMS18 · 01/11/2020 13:18

Hi everyone 😊 hope you don’t mind me joining in, we were trying from April 2018, but gave up after a while and wanted to give myself a mental break I didn’t get my first period for over 6 months after stopping the pill and it’s only starting to get a bit more regular, 2nd month trying again and currently 7dpo
