Just that really!

I'm aware I'm in the 'older' bracket now but really want to soon start trying for another (have 1 already).

We have been thinking about it for a while now and have this time to see what happens. Theres only positives when we weigh everything up.

Planning on starting to try next month.

Anyone else?

@Idreamof2more have you tested again?

I actually didn’t mind being pregnant and waiting. It was the fight with the NHS I could have done without and the extremely rude/unhelpful specialists who are particularly scathing about older mothers and adopt a ‘well what did you expect’ attitude.

I’m grateful though for everything I have and it’s just another crappy life event to add to many others.

I do know of a mother who had her last child at 44. She fell really easy, on purpose, and her child is absolutely perfect. So don’t let my tale of woe put you off xx

timeforanother1 · 05/11/2020 12:03

@justanotherneighinparadise oh gosh sending big hugs to you. Can't imagine how bad those weeks after would have been.

@Idreamof2more when I got my bfp I was convinced I wouldn't as I had literally no symptoms! It's not over until af appears!

OP posts:
Idreamof2more · 05/11/2020 11:55

Thank you @ @timeforanother1 for the moral boost. I’m praying for a bfp but just don’t feel any different at all. How many dpo are you? Good luck xxx

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/11/2020 10:25

Earliest you can have the Harmony is 10 weeks.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/11/2020 10:25

Yeah it was the harmony test that gave the high risk. Then that had to be confirmed with an amino. Then I had to go through a long winded fight to have a surgical termination in London as I didn’t want my last labour to be under those terrible circumstances. So although I found out at 13 weeks it took until 17 weeks to have the termination.

timeforanother1 · 05/11/2020 10:17

Thank you @justanotherneighinparadise
Sorry to hear of your loss. That is quite late to find out a disorder isn't it?

I know they do checks at 12 weeks but I'd be keen to have the £400 test- is it the harmony or something like that? I think it's a blood test but don't know at what stage it can be done.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/11/2020 10:04

I had my second a week off of 41 so there is definitely hope. I did conceive again at 42 but sadly had to terminate the pregnancy at 17 weeks due to a chromosome disorder.

We did keep trying and I had one chemical abs nothing else. I’m nearly 46 now and have made peace with it but I just wanted to wish you all lots of luck xxx

timeforanother1 · 05/11/2020 10:01

Isn't it mad how when you've tried, you spend the next however many days seeing loads of new symptoms you think could mean you're pregnant?!

I have had a dry mouth for a few days and fancy different foods to usual lol!

10 days is early to test @Idreamof2more so don't write this month off yet!

@Happysbno4 that's great, you're right- always reasons but what else is there to do in lockdown ha ha Grin

Appointment to IUD out next week...

Good luck everyone! Xxx

Idreamof2more · 05/11/2020 09:38

Good luck to you. I got a bfn at 10 dpo today so think I am out. Had a chemical last month xx

timeforanother1 · 05/11/2020 09:08

How are you all doing?

I have started taking ttc vitamins and we actually had sex while in my fertile window last month just to try!
Will monitor correctly from this month, af due in 10 days but I don't for a moment think I've caught.

Forgot what this all feels like!

Hi ladies I am 40 and currently in the dreaded 2ww. Xx

Happysbno4 · 31/10/2020 23:35

@timeforanother1

My partner is very keen on another one. And giving my lb a whole sibling is very appealing.

My older kids were delivered after short sharp natural labour... I Was never given a reason for the rupture.
I was told that i could have another baby by the consultant who oversaw the repair to my uterus.

I am thinking that there will always be a hundred reasons why its not the right time but time is not on my side and its now or never....

If the stars aline and we are lucky to get a bfp then we will be even more truly blessed... xx

Em39ma · 31/10/2020 06:03

@timeforanother1 I did test yesterday as AF didn’t turn up, a strong negative. I’ve just woken up and AF has turned up over night.
Have to keep trying.

sabtom · 31/10/2020 01:37

Hi! Not a mum.... yet 🤞🏻 but I am 40 (nearly 41) and TTC #1. Been trying for nearly 2 years, and the only time I had BFP ended in mmc. Had a round of IUI which was unsuccessful and now hoping to go for mild IVF. However, by the time we can afford that I might be nearer 42 Sad

Blueskysunsout · 31/10/2020 00:30

@timeforanother1

I’m still not using contraception, I can’t get my head around why it hasn’t happened. I still have reg period etc but I’ve noticed where they used to start light for a day then be moderate/heavy for 3 days then a couple of light days, I now seem to get 3-4 days of barely there brown spotting followed by a day and half of really very heavy flow and then it abruptly stops. I’m thinking I may be menopausal.

timeforanother1 · 30/10/2020 22:26

@Happysbno4 that sounds scary, how were your previous births? Any reasons why the last went the way it did?

I was similar to you some months ago looking at all the reasons to not have another. Our house will be very full with another as it's not big and we can't move for lots of financial reasons. There's other things too but we decided there are more positives about a new baby and a full house for example doesn't mean anyone goes without or isn't fed etc.
We may not fall pregnant but I want to try and let the stars decide!

What does your partner/ family think?
What about medically have you been advised not to?

timeforanother1 · 30/10/2020 22:18

Oh @Em39ma have you tested today?
Fingers crossed for you!

@Sunny4124 oh wow you too- hope you get a positive, will you test tomorrow?

Happysbno4 · 29/10/2020 23:53

Help I really need to make a decision! I am 41 with an 18 month old dear son with my partner! He is an adored little rainbow baby after mmc! His birth was very traumatic with placenta abruption resulting in a huge blood loss to me.

I also have 3 much older children with my ex husband. All still in our very small home!!!

I need to quickly make a decision if we are to have another baby.... which i would love. But so many factors to consider! Not least the risks to me.

Any advise welcome.

Sunny4124 · 29/10/2020 22:23

@timeforanother1 - I feel like I have symptoms but not sure if they’re in my head! I’m so tired, sore boobs and a bit of cramping (which I thought was AF but it’s not)..... I’m due on Monday, I’m desperate to test, but think I’ll wait until Sunday :-)

@Em39ma - Sorry about your previous mc. Good luck for testing, you’re very patient to wait until after AF due!

Good luck everyone xxx

Em39ma · 29/10/2020 21:59

I’m due AF tomorrow. Had sore boobs and feeling queasy, but I can do that with both. Got some FRER today, might wait until Saturday if AF doesn’t turn up tomorrow
