OPK peak??

Bouncytree · 20/10/2020 12:20

I can’t tell if I have peaked and missed it, or if I am yet to peak.

I was at 40% high one evening...but then back to low levels and fluctuating slightly since then. Back to 0% now. See picture

Could I have peaked overnight and missed it? Is that even possible? Are my LH levels just fluctuating as they go down? if I’m now at 0% does that mean The peak has passed?

Last few cycles testing I got very clear peaks 100-200%. So I am very confused by all this! We have been DTD every two days in case 😅😅😅

Can anyone shed on light on what might be happening? So confused 🤪

That site is great thanks @Rachel93x will you be testing today? 🙊

@Bouncytree all good thanks. 3dpo today so a long wait ahead for me! I’m the worst in the tww! I need to have some self control and wait until at least 9/10dpo! When are you testing?

jessi60 · 02/11/2020 22:39

Yeah it’s interesting isn’t it. But then people get no symptoms what so ever.
Yeah hopefully things will be fine with the house. Nothing I can do so need to relax 😂
I cleared the shelf in wilkos today of ovulation tests, my boyfriend was mortified and said I couldn’t take them all😂 to be fair you only get five in a pack haha xx @Rachel93x

Rachel93x · 02/11/2020 22:23

I'm glad you both liked that site, it's just interesting reading about symptoms etc!!

@Bouncytree omg, hopefully it a implantation cramps 🤞🏻 oh man, I thought your test day was tomorrow and I was so excited for you! Wednesday will be here so fast though! I have my fingers crossed for you! Do you feel 'pregnant' or any different this month?

Just my boobs and had the stabbing pain today & twinges in my right side! The twinges just feel like trapped wind but I did have them last month before the positive but think month I just feel out weirdly! Normally have cramps but havent 🤷🏼‍♀️ although last month with how strong my cramps were I knew something wasn't right (around AF due date, not the TWW - didn't want to panic you as yours seem perfect timing!) so maybe no longer having cramps is a good thing for me? God knows!

@jessi60 yes, I've read mainly people on here getting BFP from about 11 days on wards, don't get me wrong I see the odd 8/9/10 dpo but more later on in the cycle so fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻 i read all those stats last month when I found the the website! Also the symptoms and what ended more In pregnant or AF! I'm glad you've found another house, hopefully the searches are quick! Luckily solicitors can work from home 🤞🏻

jessi60 · 02/11/2020 21:26

@Bouncytree yeah it’s been abit of a nightmare but kind of in the mindset now that I can’t do anything about it and it’s out of my control with this lockdown again.

@Rachel93x thanks for the site. Interesting. I did test today at 9dpo but wasn’t with an early response test. And technically that’s calculated off my withdrawal bleed so might not be accurate. But the site said only 47% would get a positive that early xx

Bouncytree · 02/11/2020 21:08

@Rachel93x oooh I’m excited about this site. Thank you

@Char899 🤦‍♀️ Was just googling there.,,thought you might be having a second peak. How are you doing today?

Lol I don’t do BBT for that very reason, I’d never get it measured the minute I was up as I’m always woken up!

@jessi60 you’ve had quite a time of it. House buying us so stressful and all the uncertainty of stop start must have been really unsettling. Hope your doing ok.

@Rachel93x

how are you doing? How are the symptoms?

ONG those cramps I had yesterday! Totally tripping me out. Started sun and then yesterday like full on AF pain lasting hours. The kind I take ibuprofen for. I thought can AF be on the way so early? Today gone.

Very Wierd experience. Had implantation cramps before, very mild. But I’m like what else can it be?? Eppp! Come on testing day!! We’d seems v far away right now

Ladies! Not sure if you've seen this website but I saw it a last month, managed to lose the link & have just come across it!

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/early-pregnancy-symptoms/

It's got loads of useful facts about symptoms, likely hood of tests etc! Hope maybe one of you find it helpful x

Rachel93x · 02/11/2020 17:38

@Char899 yeah, I definitely CD14 was the peak 🙊

Char899 · 02/11/2020 16:59

Think it was partly an evap! Just done another and there’s next to nothing there.. phew! 😅

Char899 · 02/11/2020 11:15

Anyone got any idea why this might have started creeping back up? 😳

OPK peak??
jessi60 · 02/11/2020 10:30

@Char899 thanks so much. It’s nice to read about people’s experiences coming off hormonal contraception and how long things can take. I know everyone is so different. Both my friends took just over a year to conceive after coming off their pill and implant (not sure if they were timing things correctly though or just going with the flow).

Yeah think I’ll just carry on using the strips for now to get an idea what my body is doing. Hopefully I’ll get a period end of this week coming and that will be around a 28 day cycle for me, I vaguely remember this being my normal but this was well before hormonal contraception so things may have changed.

Yeah going to give the temperatures a miss at the minute. I’m a nurse and have the strangest shift pattern, mix of days and nights so I would never be able to get the same time.

@Rachel93x in the process of another house. Waiting for the searches to come back but with this lockdown again god knows what’s going to happen. Think I’ve picked the worst year to do it!

Yeah 27 also. Same as you, still feel like I’m about 23. And will be my first also. I didn’t even know there was such things as ‘chemicals’ when in this process.. crazy what you learn Xxx

Louisa199 · 02/11/2020 06:52

@jessi60

Hi guys. Just wondering if I can join and ask some of your advice.

This month is my first month of trying. Although it might not be able to be even classed as my first month at all. I had my implant removed on the 23rd September. Started the pill on the 24th. Only took this for 12 days as I had horrendous side effects. I’ve been off hormonal contraception since the 5th October and having regular unprotected sex this month.

I did have a bleed for 5 days which I’m assuming in my withdrawal bleed. I have no ideas about periods as I never had them on my implant and no idea about dates of ovulation. I’ve bought some of the cheapie sticks to try and get my head around it all but just been doing it the last few days to see what it shows... no idea whether I would of even ovulated this month. I’ve been putting them into the Premom app and the results are really low LH at like 0.14 and 0.12. Are these low results normal when you haven’t ovulated or are the strips dodgy? A lot of people’s that I’ve seen have still been abit higher even when they aren’t ovulating.

Thanks in advance xx

The LH level can vary from person to person, I have heard that some women never had a positive result in OPKs but still got pregnant.

The LH level can increase sharply before ovulation, you may even get a positive a few hours right after a negative result. I would keep testing every day and record them in the app so you can track the progression and find out the most fertile days. Just be patient, baby dust to you!

Rachel93x · 01/11/2020 19:27

@jessi60 also, I don't have any children! This will be our first as and when it happens 🙊 Guessing this will be your first too?xx

Rachel93x · 01/11/2020 19:26

@jessi60 hopefully 12 days won't have done too much damage as such, I've also had the implant but didn't get on with that, however I was about 15 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's so stressful this TTC, I had a chemical last month but was only month 2 and healthy couples can take up to 12 months to conceive which is all I keep telling myself!

Oh no, sorry to hear about the house!! We completed the first week of the first lockdown, SO stressed which is what makes my dr think caused the delayed in my period! Fingers crossed you find another property! Yes, I'm 27! I'm guessing you are, or are this year? I still feel like I'm 20 and not an actual proper adult 🙈

@Char899 I'm testing the day AF is due - 8th November! Although I may wait until a few days later! I can't face another chemical or another negative if early! So annoying when we spend all month peeing on sticks and DTD so much! How are you feeling? I saw about your temp changing! I REALLY need to read into this tonight and get my head around it 🙈

Char899 · 01/11/2020 18:48

@Bouncytree hiya! Not too bad, actually feeling a little bit rubbish today, sort of crampy all over really! Not even just low down but more in my tummy. Temp didn’t spike this morning so I’m not totally convinced I’ve ovulated. LH was low again today so no further signs of any more surges so fx! How are you getting on? How many days to testing? @Rachel93x how many days to testing for you? Any more symptoms?

@jessi60 I came off the pill at the start of April 2018 and fell pregnant at the end of June so hopefully that gives you some reassurance that things don’t always take too long to return to normal BUT they can take a few months so don’t panic!
The first bleed straight after coming off the pill is not a real period, I think it’s called a withdrawal! (You can still get pregnant straight after coming off though) count the days from your withdrawal to you next bleed - that will be your current cycle length post pill and also the first day of your new proper cycle. It may be a little longer than normal. As the girls said use the opks to get a sense of what your body is doing (that’s what I’ve done this month for the first time with the help of these lovely ladies) it’s normal to get low at the start, but also everyone is different! Some people just have higher levels throughout their whole cycle and others don’t, it’s not a problem. (I’m also temping but actually find it quite stressful and it’s very tricky to do if you already have kids because your meant to do it as the same time every morning after 3-4 hours undisturbed sleep so unless you can do that I wouldn’t recommend)

jessi60 · 01/11/2020 17:19

@Rachel93x thanks so much aswell. You’ve also helped me loads. I appreciate the time taken with the length replies! Handy that you wrote them dates down coming off the pill. I was on the pill for around 5 years and then switched to the implant for another 5.5 with no periods.
We were basically in the middle of buying a house, got the implant out to TTC and then our house buy fell through so I thought I would start the pill and then I could just stop it when we were more settled with a new house etc (even though who was I kidding that I thought it could happen straight away 😂) But I was horrendous on it which is why it was short lived for only 12 days. So feel abit annoyed with myself for taking it because I’ve probably confused my body even more now but never mind it’s done now!

Yeah I’ve read into the temperature thing but I don’t want to go down that route just yet. Stick with the cheaper tests for now. I will probably buy the clear blue ovulation kit once I have a better idea about my cycle and things but at the minute I think it would be abit of a waste when I don’t know what’s going on.

Have you got any children at the minute? Just think we are the same age if your username is your date of birth xx

Rachel93x · 01/11/2020 16:11

Hiya @jessi60 - don't feel silly posting on here, we're all new at some point and most importantly going through the same situation!

@Bouncytree has explained the ovulation sticks perfectly so I can't offer much more help on that!?

Although, I was on the pill until November last year! I didn't come off the pill ready to try for a baby, it was just not working and randomly started to bleed after 3 years on it. so decided to have a break, we then bought a house, decided now is the best time and never went back for more!

I had it written in my notes as I was stressing about the random bleeds so I'll copy what I had written down;

Sunday 24th November came off pill
Period 27th November until 1st December
Period then arrived 3rd January until 8th January and then up until I was due in May, it was a regular 35 day cycle!

April came, I didn't have a period until the very end of June but lockdown and buying the house is what my dr put it down to, because of stress! I then bought conceive plus ovulation support and we decided to try from August period! My cycle returned back to the 35 days and my ovulation day 2 out of the 3 months we've been trying has been cycle day 21! 1 month was CD14 🤪 (normal for 28 day cycles!)

Don't feel disheartened if it take a few months for your body to adjust and get back into control! Just after your period (if you don't get lucky the first month) do 1 or 2 ovulation tests and then when it because darker, do 3 tests a day then once you see 'peak' or even just the test line darker than the control line you'll likely ovulate 12-48 hours after the positive! I then just do 1 test a day to check its stays down and didn't fail to ovulate - I know BBT is the only official way (I think?) to confirm ovulation but I've only just got my head around this darn sticks and the pre mom app! Basically just DTD every day you see the darker lines and and if possible, every other day from period end to ovulation!

Sorry for the essay and probably confusing the situation more, I just didn't want to ignore you and just let you know it will take time and it's TOTALLY normal xx

jessi60 · 01/11/2020 15:14

@Bouncytree honestly thanks so much for your help I really do appreciate it. I’ve posted a couple of times on different threads and seem to of got ignored 😂 .. I can see regular conversations between some people so they probably think I’m just rude to interrupt their convos. I think I feel abit silly coming on here aswell when there’s some many who have being trying for a while and then I come along when I’ve only just started. So thanks again.

I put my bleed into the app as a period even though I think it was more of a withdrawal bleed and a cycle of 28 just to see and it put my ovulation date as the 25th of a October and weirdly that was the day I noticed the EWCM people talk about and I’ve never in my life seen this before. So this could be abit of a positive.
But yes I’ll make sure I track the dates and input when I eventually do get a period so I have a better idea of things. I’ll just carry on using the sticks in the mean time to get a better idea xxx

Bouncytree · 01/11/2020 14:51

@Rachel93x yes not long but also forever!! 🤣

Mmmm pain in side intriguing 🤔🧐. Ouch fir the sore boobies. Too many hormones going on. Jez u only realise what our bodies are going through every month when you start the TTC overthinking! I am the same. Agony cramps here and now just want AF to arrive so I can take something. Bloody hormones!!

@Char899 how are u getting on TWWaiting?

OP posts:
Bouncytree · 01/11/2020 14:47

Hi @jessi60. Yes normal to be very low when not ovulating, even to zero. It’s only in the days approaching ovulation that it will start to rise up beyond those levels. I imagine that’s what you are seeing people post...the days around ovulation at that’s when we are all testing more and needing answers!

I recommend using the sticks like you have suggested, to get an idea of what is going on.

I don’t know anything about contraceptive withdrawal as we use barrier method. But after a MC You count that first day of bleeding as the first day of your period, and then wait for ovulation and the next period to know what’s going on. I imagine you will ovulate.

I would put the bleed dates into your app and then start tracking ovulation daily. Don’t worry too much about the levels...they will rise and fall throughout. But then you will see a peak...riding up to 70, 100 or 200 percent. You will know a peak when you see it. Record them in your app and then dates of your next bleed and then you will have an approximate pattern for the next month (though things may take a while to settle I’m sure).

If you don’t know your cycle u ssgould probably estimate it on the shorter side, 28 days with ovulation at cycle day 14 (14 days after your bleed) and see how that goes.

I would try and think of this month as a learning month with the sticks, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to locate it. Just do lots of BD all month so you are covered!

Rachel93x · 01/11/2020 11:32

@Bouncytree It's not long until you can test is it? 🙊

Yeah, sore boobs for me always seem to be a thing now since we decided to try, and I REALLY dread the two weeks (not just for the wait) because they're so painful so I'd be happy for that to stop! I've had a lot of stitch like pain in my right side for a couple minutes, a few times a day for the last 3 days, but not sure if thats a sign of anything other than AF!

Bouncytree · 01/11/2020 11:03

@Char899 I’d say you are covered alright 💃🤣. Oh great to see it go back down, looks like you hid the target! Now the TWW....

@Rachel93x argh it’s always so confusing! Why can’t the signs just be different?!! Hang on in there.

I’m still cramping but I just remembered I had this last month on the first AF after the miscarriage, so I think it’s jus a repeat and AF coming...though major early pains...hope this isn’t what AF is for me now.

OPK peak??
Rachel93x · 31/10/2020 18:38

@Bouncytree that's one thing different for me this month, I've not had cramps for the last 4 days - not sure if that's good or bad. Last month it was really quite strong! My boob pain is real, even my nipples which I've not had before and then creamy discharge (sorry tmi!) but all can be a sign with AF too 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Char899 I reckon you've just got a short time between a surge in the LH level & ovulating! I don't understand Temp, but I think I might get my head around it and start from next month!
