OPK peak??

Bouncytree · 20/10/2020 12:20

I can’t tell if I have peaked and missed it, or if I am yet to peak.

I was at 40% high one evening...but then back to low levels and fluctuating slightly since then. Back to 0% now. See picture

Could I have peaked overnight and missed it? Is that even possible? Are my LH levels just fluctuating as they go down? if I’m now at 0% does that mean The peak has passed?

Last few cycles testing I got very clear peaks 100-200%. So I am very confused by all this! We have been DTD every two days in case 😅😅😅

Can anyone shed on light on what might be happening? So confused 🤪

Ha ha @Rachel93x lol yes must.hold.off 😆
Yes! I think that’s totally true...fine till you get those itching to test feelings and then time stops to a crawl.

Yes 5 days dpo 2m, snd 6 days till possible test date...hoping for a clicky hip sign on the 3rd. I have a 27 day cycle and ovulated on CD 15....so it’s been a bit shorter than 2 weeks at least. Though it doesn’t seem to have made much difference!

@Char899..yes looks like a Possible peak to me on CD 11 at 88%...but you’ve gone up again so there ya a chance you could peak again higher. So keep testing in case The final peak is the true peak. It’s confusing in the first month or two but you roll get to know your pattern and when you likely yo ovulate. So think about the testing as learning your cycle and if you are DTD 2/3 days you are covered in any case.

This is quite useful...shows the Different kinds of rises and falls People Can have. premom.com/blogs/how-to-use-ovulation-tests/surges-and-peaks-gradual-onset

It does feel a bit confusing but you don’t have to see the peak to get PG so try not to stress. Just keep baby dancing and your sorted!

@Char899 please excuse the amount of testing I did hahaha but thought I'd show my whole month of stressing! Mine also showed higher grading and then dropped back to low again! I was sure I'd ovulated earlier on in the month 🙊

Ps, I hope this go in order! Then my peak is above in the comments x

Oh and @Bouncytree... I've currently got a list of symptoms or feelings I've had other the last three days...guess who had a twinge of tooth pain early 🤦🏼‍♀️ although about each pregnancy being different certainly makes me feel better!!

4DPO for me tomorrow, so guessing you're 5DPO tomorrow? 🙊 I always find it goes pretty quick until 7DPO because then you know just a couple of days later it can be picked up on a test 🤦🏼‍♀️

'Must. Hold. Off. Until. AF.Is.Due' is what shall be going around my head next week!

Rachel93x · 28/10/2020 20:36

It sounds like youre doing what I did...stressing about it 🥺 both the last two months, I have sat reading any forum you can about ovulation and got to the point were i thought 'sod this, what I'll be will be' and within a couple of days...there was my peak 🙊

The surge can happen quick and the positive can come around within just 1 day of testing, even if it was super low the day before! Also only being CD12, our bodies should generally ovulate until CD14 🙌🏼

It will happen, just do 3 sticks a day and I bet by the weekend you'll have your positive!🤞🏻 Do maybe 10am, 3pm and 8pm? I think that's a pretty good spread out across the day? And then just DTD every other and then once it becomes noticeably darker just try once a day for those 3 days 🙊

Char899 · 28/10/2020 20:29

@Bouncytree it’s Femometer that I’m using. I figured I’d let it interpret the results as I’m new to opks and could use the help 🙈

I’ve had ewcm for 3 days now and I don’t normally have it much longer than that. I’m also having twinges in my right side this evening - so confused. Just done another opk and can’t help but feel my body is on a wind up! 😒

OPK peak??
Bouncytree · 28/10/2020 19:41

Ha ha yes, well that was me this month...started DTD way early cos I thought I was ovulating and Then I couldn’t wait till I was done for the month. 😅😅😅 DTD on a schedule is exhausting 😅

Yeah I found that with the app...think you are using Premom too? I’ve also used femometer and it allows you to put in the ovulation manually but Premom fills automatically, but all the apps are just approximating . But your peak has to kind of ‘peak out’ so to speak...it has to get To it’s highest for it to be the true peak. Also the True peak indicates you about the ovulate, but it happens 24-36 hours afterwards, so day after the peak. So The Premom
Doesn’t seem to take that into account.

I go by the EWCM too and think it’s good to notice that in combination with the testing. A midwife told me once you see it get on the EWCM get on the BD! 💃🤣 I get it 4/5 days before ovulation and then it goes very quickly afterwards.

OP posts:
Char899 · 28/10/2020 19:18

@Bouncytree haha your comment about bd made me laugh! It just threw me as it said peak and then my app automatically pulled ovulation forward to today! And with the ewcm I figured maybe I was ovulating but it just didn’t seem high enough! I’ll keep testing 2-3 times a day and fx it comes soon!

Bouncytree · 28/10/2020 19:15

@Rachel93x I know what you mean, you feel like it’s a flashback rather than moving forward. The doctor told me each pregnancy is kinda in its own box- it’s own set of chromosomes, it’s own placenta etc. Makes me feel a bit better about trying again.

Achey teeth is a funny one isn’t in. I have a funny one too...my hip joint aches and clicks. sounds ridiculous 🤣 I just my hip stretching in my first pregnancy...the hormone relaxin makes everything more stretchy...and the last two times I had implantation the release of relaxin made my hip go again. So like you I think I might have an idea before I test. It’s kinda one of the only symptomsI can trust.

Had a bit of light headedness today and was delighted 🤣🤣🤣.

Yes it is early days. It just feels like forever!

Bouncytree · 28/10/2020 19:08

Hi @Char899 I was the same this month! Keep rising and falling, went from 0 to 40 and back down again and I kept thinking I’d missed the peak or peaked over night. But sure enough a clear peak showed in time....mine tend to go to 100-200% when I’m peaking and it’s really clear when it happens. Picture attached. So keep testing at least twice a day and more if you see it going up. No getting if the hook with the BD for you yet 🤣🤣🤣

Char899 · 28/10/2020 12:54

@Rachel93x ah thank you 😊 that’s what I hoped! I’m going to test again this afternoon to see if anything’s changes. I have a few little cramps in my stomach but no change in temp yet so I’ll keep testing and dtd 😊

Rachel93x · 28/10/2020 11:42

Hey lovely!

It looks like your surge is on the way! If you have a 28-30 day cycle you're likely to see a positive between day 13-16 roughly!! But it certainly looks like it's headed in the right direction 🙌🏼

Char899 · 28/10/2020 11:19

Hi ladies! I wonder if anyone can help? First month using opks as I have no idea when I ovulate generally. Only came off the pill 2 months ago so not sure if my cycle is still a bit off! Does this look like a true peak to you? It was only there for less than 3 hours? I’ve had “high” since cd5 with one random low. My cycle was 28 days last month and 30 the month before (I was on the pill before that) can anyone shed some light? It seems odd to me that it would last such a short time and never got particularly high! Oh just to add I have had ewcm the last few days so it kind of makes sense for ovulation to be near!

OPK peak??
Rachel93x · 27/10/2020 21:49

Omg yes me too, last time I got a positive I had achey teeth but Im like, I hope I don't have the same symptoms as last month seen as it all turn to crap 🙈

Eeek, that will come round so fast! My app and 14 days after ovulation is the 8th November for me but I have noticed spotting 2 days before AF..so I'm guessing I'll be aware if AF is arriving on the 6th & if he ugly face isn't here by the 8th I'll test then 🤞🏻

I just need to remind myself this is only officially month 3 of trying! I thought it was month 4 for some reason but checking back on the Premom app I've only filled the DTD, ovulation sticks etc for the last 2/3 including this month!

Bouncytree · 27/10/2020 20:01

Woop for ovulation! Kinda good to see some kind of pattern emerging. I’m finding CD14 or 16.

Lol I know we’re so focused on our bodies I think and just want everything to be a symptom. Raging indigestion here and feeling rosy cheeked all the time. Too much central heating or symptom ? 🤷‍♀️🤣 3 days dpo, 8 days to go. Due on the 4th, gonna try wait till then...can’t face the BFP would rather see AF. Will prob test on day of though! When are you due to test?

OP posts:
Rachel93x · 27/10/2020 07:37

I did! I got it Saturday, it was 1.59 and I've never had it that positive before & checked Sunday and it had gone down so it was CD21 again this month 🙌🏼 happy its the same as last month. So I'm 2DPO today! I've figured I get sore boobs once I've ovulated - So I need to count that out as a symptom 🤦🏼‍♀️

How are you getting on? Ah I think we all say we will chill and then we're straight onto checking any little twinge 🙊 I'm not going to do any test this month unless I'm late - I have a feeling it won't be this month, weird when last month I felt it was the month and did get the positive! When do you plan on testing?

Bouncytree · 26/10/2020 16:52

How Are you doing @Rachel93x? Did you get your peak? After all my I’m going to chill out etc I’m already symptom spotting at 2 days dpo 🙈🙈🙈 it’s going to be a long 2 weeks!!

OP posts:
Bouncytree · 24/10/2020 08:32

Well we can try...might not do much good 😆🤷‍♀️😂. It can be hard to keep a lid on it once it gets under your skin. I have managed a few months to keep calm about it by talking myself out of testing and waiting for AF but other times I’m all over the place. Esp after MC the feelings are so intensified.

Yes it is good to know what’s going on alright. I could be wrong but I think it is only after MC 3 times they investigate...that is if it implants so after AF should arrive. It’s a CP if it happens before implantation but a MC after implantation. But you do often see early MC referred to as CP and they are very similar in that they present like a period.

Yes it is exciting to think about the possibility in the next few weeks. We have to be able to dream a little! Come on bfps! It’s such a dark art isn’t it 🤣

One more BD for me tonight and at least I can have a rest then 😂😂😂

Let me know how you get on!

OP posts:
Rachel93x · 23/10/2020 21:33

You're totally right, I need to remind myself my ovulation day isn't normally until CD21 and to chill out 😂

That's exactly the reason I don't want to test, had I not tested last month I'd of been none the wiser 🥺 although good to know because if it happens a further 2 times my dr said they would refer me, but still early days!

It's about this time of the month it gets exciting that something could happen in the next couple of weeks and I can't face the thought of AF or negative test, but need to just go with the flow I suppose!🤪

It's absolute torture, I've got fingers crossed we both hopefully get some good news come the end of the first week of November 🤞🏻

Bouncytree · 23/10/2020 21:25

Lol oh I didn’t even think of that. I’ve been doing opks so often I’ve just been casually leaving them around. Prob not such a good idea!

It’s hard to be calm about it. There’s always the what if at the back of your mind. I think I was afraid of missing the peak. Gonna try to trust it more next month. Though it’s easy to say isn’t it.

I know I’m the same. Always a battle with myself to resist testing, and then cave and run to the chemist for a FRER get a negative and then none the wiser! After MC I certainly don’t want to know early just in case. Will try wait for the missed period. Im due the 5th I think....app just shifted my dates cos ovulated late.

Getting ready to resist the phantom symptoms....jez it’s torture isn’t it ! 😱😭🤣

Oh god I know, I realised AFTER I posted the photo that I looked really grotty 🤦🏼‍♀️ I promise it's my own keyboard in my home office for my own use (wfh life is VERY handy when peeing on sticks - every few hours like me today haha)

Glad to see we've finally had our peaks!! DTD last night too, along with telling my partner we need to do it tonight too! Hoping we're covering all the bases this month 🤞🏻 both the apps tell me tomorrow for ovulation, so I knew I should of just chilled out a few days ago 🥺

The dreaded two week wait, is the worst part of it! I've promised myself no testing early this month either..let's see how long I can last 😅 AF is due 7th November - give or take a day with my cycles! How about you?

OPK peak??
Bouncytree · 23/10/2020 21:01

Yay!! At last. Time for a BD 💃😆 I like the computer keyboard shot there, lol work life all mixed up at the moment.

Me too!! Finally headed towards the peak at 132% yippee. DTD last night and will probably do tomorrow too. Fifth time this month! I don’t think I can take anymore 😅 Def covered tho 🤣

I’ve never tested so early, so didn’t know my pattern. So I’ve learned my lesson....no CM I’m Not ovulating. And I do seem to peak on or within a day of predicted.

That’s ovulation done. And now the TWW 🙈 when are you due AF?

Rachel93x · 21/10/2020 12:36

I really should spell check 🤦🏼‍♀️

  • As the month goes on
  • Just as my app said I would
Rachel93x · 21/10/2020 12:34

Oh that link looks handy, thank you!

Yeah I was 5 weeks exactly, that was 2 weeks ago Monday just gone, so maybe this month will be all over the place but still a normal period 🤞🏻 I do find myself stressing as the months go on, but I did last month aswell when I ovulated CD21 (just wasn't my app said I would) so I've still got a few days 🙈

I downloaded the app you use and that gave me a 36% and Premom gave me 0.39 so they seem pretty steady! I love the Premom app, been using it for about 4 months now after a very delayed/missed period! I do find it handy and you can also keep all the info together, very similar to Femometer! I think I'm going to use both for a couple months 🙊
