Feel so bummed guys. I thought this was the month. This is really hard and starting to stress me out. I feel so alone in this right now to be honest. I’m 30, hubby is a couple years older we’re quite healthy. We’ve been trying for 4 months now and nothing. Does anyone have any advice or any hints and tips because I’m super bummed. I also feel like I have no one to talk to about this. My AF has just literally come :( so sad. Anyone in the same sort of position as me?

Meant to say implantation 🤦🏼‍♀️ Baby brain already getting me haha

Nam095 · 20/10/2020 22:41

@AKcheer thank you ☺️ I honestly don’t know how to feel haha, it doesn’t seem real yet of course but I’m sure as the days go by I’ll feel it more and more! I must have implanted early as I have quite a clear BFP.

Just goes to show that fertilisation doesn’t have to follow statistical rules of only between 7-12dpo!

Hey @SpaceOP thanks for messaging! Ahh yeah I’ve seen on the net they say every 2-3 days to have sex not just around ovulation so I might try that.

I guess there is hope!! So nice to hear you fell pregnant without fertile treatment!!! ❤️❤️

Omg @Nam095 this is amazing!!! Congratulations girl!! You tested early!! How you feeling!!’n

Nam095 · 20/10/2020 18:23

@AKcheer I’m 9dpo now, I actually got a clear BFP today!

I have everything crossed that this cycle will be the one for you 🤞🏼❤️

SpaceOP · 20/10/2020 15:28

It's very hard when it doesn't happen. My fertility doctor told me that most couples who are both healthy and who are having enough sex conceive in 3 months. Which isn't the most exciting thing to hear. But she really emphasised the sex thing and I think it's true that often people mistake when they are genuinely fertile and making sure to have more sex all round is a good option - certainly, one of the reason I had fertility treatment is that my doctor told me sex every 2 days for at least a week on either side of when you think you will ovulate is best but in my case we didn't know when I ovulated so that wasn't possible.

I've lost count of the number of women I know who got pregnant in what they were convinced was a non fertile time.

Good luck OP. I know it's hard. I miraculously fell pregnant without fertility treatment with DD but it was after 7months.

AKcheer · 20/10/2020 15:20

@emiliet123 I’m a speak to my husband about it tonight and hopefully he will think it’s a good idea too!! Yeah I can imagine it’s always good to have your husbands support and him understanding everything. It helps a lot!

@Mistymonday Good to hear all your tests came back ok! How does he feel about sperm tests? Ahh I’m hoping time is on your side and you conceive naturally!! Fingers crossed!! Keep doing what your doing!!

@Izzie94 Oh wow I’m going to look into this. It sounds like for £150 they check a lot. And your right it’s all for a peace of mind and then you can carry on. Helps you relax! Yeah I know I think we all need to stay positive and when the time is right it will happen. I think I find it hard because everyone around me is getting pregnant and everyone looks at me like why aren’t you pregnant!! It’s so hard!

@Juno231 Hey girl. Good to hear your tests went fine too. Did you also go private? Keep us posted on OH tests I’m sure they will be fine!

@Dinosaurus86 Thank you. It really does feel like it. You know how it goes, everywhere you turn you see someone who’s had a perfect conception and pregnancy and baby and it’s hard. Or at least they act like they have. I keep reading the same stats as you too and it also gets to me so I know how you feel. Oh wow acupuncture sounds good. What exactly are day 21 tests? I’ve not heard of them. Are you still taking Pregnacare? I started them and stopped at one point they were messing my life up. My periods were all over the shop and I was really hormonal! You and your hubby are literally the same age as me and my OH!

Dinosaurus86 · 20/10/2020 14:23

You're definitely not alone @AKcheer! I know it feels like it. We're on cycle 7 now and nothing so far. It is getting me down and am v worried there is something wrong. I keep reading all sorts of statistics like 70%+ conceiving within the first 6 months and wondering why I have to be in the minority! I've started acupuncture which is helping to keep me sane. I also had a (private) day 21 test last month which came back low, but I'm almost certain I just had delayed ovulation (unfortunately I decided not to track with ovulation tests last month, like the idiot I am!) after starting Pregnacare vitamins, which seems pretty common. So now I need to retest next month. If that comes back ok then I might try to get DP in for sperm testing. He's 30 and I'm 33.

Juno231 · 20/10/2020 13:26

Am 32, on cycle 10 and still no luck. All my tests have come back fine and OH is having himself tested next week as well so we don't have to worry about anything being wrong on his side of things.

Izzie94 · 20/10/2020 11:45

@AKcheer I googled private fertility clinics near me, and there was one 30 minutes away (city centre!) it cost £150, which I was happy to pay for peace of mind! It was a complete fertility check. She looked at the size/shape of the uterus, checked for ovulation, checked follicles, and for polypops and cysts oh and endometrial lining! There was so much and so much detail, I also had hormonal blood tests too. I think that’s why I feel a bit more relaxed now ☺️ We will get there eventually!! I try telling myself worrying and stress doesn’t create a happy environment for a little one ✨ but I do have my bad days for sure! X

Mistymonday · 20/10/2020 10:12

Just started cycle 7, which is tough because I am 38 and feel like time is not on my side! He is getting sperm tests, I had a checks before ttc but might get more then go Quickly to ivf as egg quality declines at 39!

emiliet123 · 20/10/2020 10:08

Honestly - best thing we did. It helped him to feel part of it as well, like all the responsibility wasn't on me, and he did all his own research and he's got a really good understanding of what we women go through now!

TTC and the TWW is a lonely time so knowing he's going through it with me is helpful. Although he can definitely switch off from it faster than I can!

AKcheer · 20/10/2020 09:36

@Izzie94 Ahh did you go probate for fertility clinic or how did you do that? How are you staying positive that’s what I need! This really is a testing journey isn’t it and you are so right. Everyone is so quick to say it happened in a second but where is everyone like us! Wine will definitely help relax me so that’s what I might start doing!! Thank you and sending you lots of baby dust too. We can do it!!

@ciara87777 oh no sorry to hear AF has arrived. During this time I think our body plays with our minds so much it’s rubbish!!! Wish it would just happen!! It is hard no matter how long you been trying for and I guess we got to stay positive and get through this.

@emiliet123 that’s such a good idea you know. I might start doing that maybe il sync my husband to my glow app. Then he will figure it out. It is a bit of a pain always saying it and even doing OPKs etc it’s just such a pain. I like your thinking and approach it sounds much more relaxed. It’s no fun when you have to plan it it takes everything out of enjoying each other. Erm I also think we need to have your doctor on here for some great advice hahahaha

OP posts:
AKcheer · 20/10/2020 09:29

@Ponyolikesham that’s the nice and beat way. No OPKs no monitoring and a baby happens!! Amazing! Aww I know exactly how you feel. It is really hardI just want someone to say if you do this you’ll be pregnant :( wish it was easier.

Hey @elenacampana I’m really sorry to hear about your MC. Having a little while off to detox is nice and 1.5 stone? That’s amazing well done. Uh hate when AF arrives. Let’s hope and cross fingers for each and everyone of us. 2020 has to have a good ending for us right??

@MrsB2019x Yeah I can imagine. Yout have to go with the flow. I think if it doesn’t happen in a couple months I might stop opk and al that shabang and see what happens. Might help me feel relaxed. Thank you - hope you get yours too ❤️❤️❤️

@Bumble84 Oh wow - love how it happened naturally ❤️ So nice to hear

@Nat4392 oh wow! How are you feeling?

emiliet123 · 20/10/2020 09:25

@AKcheer My doctor also said last time round that he found having a blazing row and then having make-up sex is the way forward. I was only there for migraine pills and mentioned in passing I was getting them cos I'd come off the pill as we were trying! I then got a lesson in "how babies are made"... So I mean if that doesn't make you cringe then I don't know what will.

emiliet123 · 20/10/2020 09:20

@AKcheer I've got my husband to download Clue and invited him to view my cycle - so I don't have to plan! He knows when my fertile week is, I know it as well and we both just make more of an effort with each other during that time! We did the whole "right we have to have sex twice today and eight hours apart to get the best sperm" thing and honestly it felt so.. ehhh! I wasn't hugely turned on because it was just in the back of my mind the whole time. It was getting him down too, so we just had a heart to heart about enjoying each other more, and since then it's been great! We've got one eye on the fertile window but our focus is on each other. :)

Like I say, it's not the best way scientifically I'm sure, and we might have more luck if I start temping and tracking but honestly, that stress is the last thing I need. Plus, him knowing when I'm due on without me having to spell it out is brilliant because he is so much more patient with mood swings and the inevitable crash when it arrives.

ciara87777 · 20/10/2020 09:15

I'm feeling exactly the same as you. Af arrived yesterday and id really convinced myself this was our month as I had super sore boobs and that never happens, plus I've been poorly. I know how you're feeling, I had a huge cry and let myself get it all out.
I had my implant removed in March and still nothing.

Would like to remind people that commenting '4 months isn't even that long' is absolutely not helpful to anyone and is very frustrating, however long you've been trying is too long especially with your first.

Xxx

Izzie94 · 20/10/2020 08:39

@AKcheer I’m 26, and on our 10th cycle. DH is 32, we’re both healthy and I’ve had private fertility checks and all is “as it should be!”

I really feel your pain. I’ve found being more positive recently has helped massively (I know it’s tough and CD1 is the worst!) but treat yourself to something you like, even if it’s just a glass of wine and some chocolates. It really helps! I’ve said on other threads, people in real life are quick to tell you about how quick it was for them, but you never really hear about the ones which are normal to take 12 months +! Sending you baby dust, and mumsnet is always such a good place to come to hear from ladies in the same situation x

Nat4392 · 20/10/2020 08:13

@AKcheer I’m 8 weeks pregnant with my first so it’s still very new

Bumble84 · 19/10/2020 22:41

18months. Got referred for IVF and then it happened naturally in the end. 4 cycles isn’t that long really although it might feel it. Keep in mind that’s only 4 times you’ve had a go at it.

MrsB2019x · 19/10/2020 22:30

No, we had to wait 3 cycles before trying because of the treatment but we weren’t exactly careful on the last month 🙈 We’re both kind of struggling with it atm because I came off the pill a year ago now, we didn’t think it would take this long. But I’ve stopped doing OPK’s and tracking symptoms to (try!) and have a more relaxed approach about it. I really hope you get your BFP soon! 💙

elenacampana · 19/10/2020 22:29

We started Sept 2019. Since had one mc and took a three month break to de-stress and lose some weight, last count was 1.5st off.

I was feeling hopeful this month, more like I did late last year but the first thing I saw this morning was my period.

It’s really tough, but works out for most. Hang in there :-)

Ponyolikesham · 19/10/2020 22:29

With DC1 I got pregnant in the first cycle. I didn’t know when I ovulated or anything like that. But we suddenly decided to start trying for a baby and a few weeks later I was pregnant.

We’ve been trying for baby no.2 and will be going in to cycle 8 if AF eventually comes (been cramping for days now and I’m just waiting for it to happen). I thought it would happen quickly like the first time.

Its heartbreaking having the same disappointment each month. And I just want someone to be able to tell me what the problem is, or what we should be doing differently.

AKcheer · 19/10/2020 22:19

Hey @MrsB2019x how are you? Oh no I’m sorry to hear that :( have you been trying since April when we’re you able to start straight away? How you feeling about it now? X

OP posts:
MrsB2019x · 19/10/2020 22:04

Hey, I’m 29 so not much younger than you ☺️ We conceived on the 6th cycle but that ended in an ectopic, that was back in April. Nothing since then though! Hang in there, it’s super tough 💙
