Hi

I have been trying for over a year and have had my first consultation with the fertility clinic last week. AF was due Thursday and hasn’t showed up and I haven’t had my usual pre af spotting. I am terrified to test I don’t know why I think I don’t want to be disappointed. Has anyone else felt like this. I was think of waiting until I’m a week late would this cause any harm if it were to be a bfp how quickly should you get in touch with your doctor if I were to be pregnant what is the first steps?

So pleased for you! Congratulations. Next steps is waiting another 3 weeks or so and then contacting your GP surgery and asking how you can receive midwife care. They all do it differently - at mine I self referred to the midwives around week 8 and got an appt for 10ush weeks. Good luck

You ask what's the next step? Well wait until around 6 weeks (another full cycle basically) then contact your gp or midwife service (different areas have different systems so check yours). They will arrange a booking in appointment and put you on the system so the hospital calls you for the first scan. Unless there's health concerns you now just need to be patient, it's 8.5 more months!

That's a blazing positive dye stealer (test line is stealing so much dye the control line looks a bit faint)! Perfect for 6 days late

Yay you're in my boat and yep you looked at the test upside down it's a very strong positive. If you're anything like me your next steps will be worrying about all sorts constantly and obsessively checking the tissue paper every time you pee. I've booked my midwife booking in appt and I've bought a couple more clear blue digital weeks indicators tests so I can test end of this week and then next and hopefully see the weeks indicator go up (I did this after my IVF and it did marginally put my mind at rest).
Congratulations here's to a happy and healthy 9 months for both of us.

Thank you so much Smile I hope it gives others hope I have been reading this forum for months and see bfp and you can’t help get disheartened but it can and will happen maybe just not as quick as you hope but everyone just needs to hang in there Smile

The only thing you need to worry about with a test like that is multiples (joking, obviously don’t freak out about multiples, just enjoy your massive BFP)
