Did anyone know you were pregnant before you did?

I’ve been trying to conceive for 3 months. I got my nails done and the nail lady said she had a strong feeling I’m pregnant (I didn’t tell her we had been trying)
She said she’d guessed her daughter was before she knew herself, and a few friends. I said I don’t think so and she said let me know next time!
Has this happened to anyone else??

I had a dream my friend was having twins, one was a boy and she was "but I don't know what to do with a boy!"
I told her the next day. She was 4 weeks pregnant. And yes, it was a boy Grin

One of the dogs, and husband. Other dog blissfully ignorant :-)

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 18/10/2020 21:53

My Male colleague told me I was and to take a test, I 'knew' I wasn't and did one to prove him wrong. He was right!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 18/10/2020 21:53

@Allthepenguins yeah I knew, I have the unfortunate habit of vomiting 20+ times a day with each pregnancy until I pop the sucker out. Tbh I could have been looking a little green or she had seen me angle a mouthful of vom into a school bin... But tbh she was the most aware person I have ever met. She remembered every detail of everybody so I do believe she had picked up on some slight physical change in my gait that gave it away.

I hope your nail lady is right and you're brewing your bundle!

WitsEnding · 18/10/2020 21:50

I don’t know how exactly, it’s the face that looks different - I don’t think you’d tell if you didn’t know what the person normally looks like.

I didn’t pick it up in my own daughter but I have a photo of her when she’s about 8 weeks pregnant and she has a real moon face, I don5 know how we didn’t spot it!

JeSuisPrest · 18/10/2020 21:44

My plumber. We were discussing layout for bathroom and I fainted. He asked if I was pregnant - I hadn't even done a test. Next day I POAS and I was.

waitforitwaitforit · 18/10/2020 21:44

My friend said she'd seen a photo of me on social media and, out of nowhere, wondered if I was pregnant. I had had no idea when the photo was taken.

ScottishStottie · 18/10/2020 21:40

My brother knew when my mum was pregnant with me before she did!

She had got a new jacket, just a normal one. My brother at aged 3 commented that it was a jacket for the baby.

My mum took a test a few days later!

My best friend was coming over for my birthday, I had a dream the night before she came, that she brought her son over, she had a 9 mth old (her third DS), and I peeped into the pram and he was dressed in pink. Then (in the dream) her little boy ran into the room.

I told her about my dream and she said she had a 9 mth old and two other DS”s already and she wasn’t having any more DC. She went home that night and did a pregnancy test, 8 months later she had DD Grin

EssentialHummus · 18/10/2020 21:27

I had exactly the same experience as greyt - my two year old DD came up to me one day and let me know that I had a baby in my belly, and that it was a boy. She then announced the name that she had chosen to her grandparents over Skype. We sadly lost the baby but we still refer to him by that name.

StillMedusa · 18/10/2020 21:24

The dog did! Not me but my dd2 is 14weeks pregnant and from a few days before she tested the dog was all ridiculously soppy and emotional around her..and keeps snuggling up to her to sleep (DD2 and her fiance are living with us til their house is ready) Usually the dog loves ME!

On the other hand I had no idea ..so much for mother's intuition Grin

EvilPea · 18/10/2020 21:21

I knew, found myself patting my tummy and talking to it.
I knew my friend was, her bum changed shape!!

Mylittlepony374 · 18/10/2020 21:16

My employee. No idea how, was about 2-3 weeks max. She just said it was an overwhelming feeling of a little girl. Weird and accurate.

cricketmum84 · 18/10/2020 21:15

@Allthepenguins about 8 weeks but had absolutely no idea! They went and bought a test for me as soon as the shops reopened after Christmas and it was positive but it makes me smile that he was the first person to pick up on it. He's such a good dad ❤️

SpeedofaSloth · 18/10/2020 21:15

Yes, I knew every time, bizarrely.

greytminds · 18/10/2020 21:15

@Allthepenguins I think you’re right. I got to 16 weeks this time, and we knew we were having a boy. After we found out he had died, I spent a lot of time thinking about whether we should name him and what to pick. I’d settled on Luca in my head, but I hadn’t discussed this with anyone even with DH. Yet when I talked about what had happened to our 2 year old, she referred to him as her baby brother Luca. How do they know?!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 18/10/2020 21:14

My best friend, we went to a restaurant and I was complaining saying it smelt.
We walked outside and she said 'are you pregnant?!' (Wasnt even aware we was 'trying' it was still only the first month we were extremely lucky) ...went and brought a test that night and was pregnant. 3wks6days!!

Allthepenguins · 18/10/2020 21:12

@cricketmum84 wow! How far alone were you?

My husbands cousin knew twice before I told him. I was between 6-10 weeks so not told anyone. Most strange really. Dh swears blind he didnt tell him.

cricketmum84 · 18/10/2020 21:10

My stepdad did. I was only 19 and had slept through most of Christmas Day and didn't want anything to eat and or drink. He gently asked my mum to ask if I thought I might be pregnant. Turned out I was!

Allthepenguins · 18/10/2020 21:07

I’m loving all these stories! Isn’t it strange! I’m about 10 days off my period so I very much doubt she would be able to tell but I’ll know in a couple of weeks haha

@greytminds I’m sorry to hear that. I think children do have some kind of psychic ability that we lose as adults x

My mum guessed I was pregnant when we walked past Costa and the smell made me want to throw up( I love coffee when not pregnant) 1 week later a positive pregnancy test.

My mil, she just looks at you and can tell from your face. Apparently they eyes and pale skin give it away. She's always been right.

Yogawithmydog · 18/10/2020 21:01

My reflexologist did. She asked a couple of odd questions at a monthly appt (before I knew) and when I returned the following month and told her my news, she smiled and showed me her notes from the last appt - highly likely pregnancy. She could tell from a change in certain points on the feet related to the relevant areas. Amazing.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 18/10/2020 21:00

Our dog, he has always been cuddley but never a sit on your lap kind of cuddle dog.
He started laying across my legs resting his head on my stomach.

DH had his suspicions too but wasn't sure what had changed.
