Fair point Mistlethrush - I wonder if there is an old-wives tale to follow, whether you follow your own mother with babies, or if you look to the size your DH was?? I was a small baby, but DH was a bruiser baby!
Giggling at the thought of little spades as hands - cute

How is everyone this fine morning??

mistlethrush · 18/10/2007 09:55

Better start knitting then hadn't I!

Mind you, you need to know how big the baby's head is going to be - I had a fairly good idea that dc's head wouldn't be small - and was right! (Mind you, nothing about him was really very small. His hands were like little spades - really chunky!)

Can't wait for all old-timers on this list to manage to get off it eventually.

Ready · 17/10/2007 23:11

TJuice - I haven't actually bought anything for my non-existant baby. I have a little bear that was given to me as a gift that I am saving for if/when I have a baby - but all the links are purely fantasy shopping. Did I worry you??

Mistlethrush - In that case, feel free to knit all of us on this thread a bonnet - could I please have a white one??

mistlethrush · 17/10/2007 22:17

After 1st experience didn't get any baby stuff until 5 months (Jan sales) - prev time had just got maternity jacket for work - and it had to lurk in the cupboard for 2 yrs.

If this one does stick and turns out to be of the pink variety, I think it will still get dressed in lots of trousers and dungarees! probably have to have a pink dye session to change the colours of some tops to go under.

Otherwise, no point in keeping the huge bags of clothes that are all put away (not very carefully!)

TJuice · 17/10/2007 21:59

ready - do you have piles of baby stuff?
i have resisted that so far - still just shopping for me. i did buy one or two maternity things when i was pg but have hidden that along with my scan pic and what to expect book until further notice . . .

i like buying cute baby things for my friends though.

mistlethrush · 17/10/2007 21:43

Ready - love the slippers and hat. But could knit a hat like that myself... in fact, the hat that I knitted for ds (yellow as didn't know either way) was very cute. Had a tassle on the top - on the end of a long twist....

Just got back from parents evening at ds's nursery. He's just about to 'move up' - been ready to move for some time now!

Toomuch - put on weight as the only way not to feel sick was to eat. Particularly on journeys - and had quite a number of those - can remember taking lots of things to eat with me (including runner beans (raw) and apples etc) and getting to the stage that I couldn't eat any more as I was full, so having to go onto sweets to stop feeling sick.

I think that I will stick with feeling sick this time and try not to put the weight on - if it lasts that long anyway. Mind you, I put a stone on last autumn after mc and ensuing worry.

Not going anywhere for the moment. Thank you all for good wishes and s, but not going to plan ahead as yet.

Congrats on the glowing reports Syb

Ready · 17/10/2007 20:27

Tjuice - Get googling ridiculously expensive babywear and baby items - it is the best retail therapy

PiggyPenguin · 17/10/2007 20:13

Hi all, how are you all doing today? Had my kids parent evenings tonight and they both had glowing reports. I am a very proud Sybil this evening!!

Glad to see the fantasy shopping back
Toomuch, I'm thinking of getting a foetal heart monitor, any one heard any good/bad reviews?

TJuice · 17/10/2007 19:05

wow, that kid has some serious hair.

i'm bored. can't be bothered to go to the gym or work on my thesis. since my mc in august, i find it hard to get interested in the stuff i used to . . .
instead i spend time googling things like ovulation or increasing fertility

i am just basically waiting to get pg again

sorry - hadn't refreshed for an hour or so..

Hi everyone!

MT - can't believe they are being so cruel to you - but enjoy the time at home

toomuchtimeonline · 17/10/2007 16:14

hey MT - Hopefully it will be sticky and will be a little angel like your darling DS!

Did you put 1 stone in the first 10 weeks last time? How does the weight thing work when you're pregnant - do you feel more hungry and therefore eat more and put weight on or is it a hormonal change which means you put on weight even though you eating hte same as you always do? .. I have this naive notion that I can just not eat much and stay the same size other than the bump..

nomoremagnolia · 17/10/2007 15:46

your friend ready

nomoremagnolia · 17/10/2007 15:42

Ready · 17/10/2007 15:35

Congratulations MT

Nomore - Hope you are feelin better petal? Great link to the reindeer dress up Next year!!

Gilly - Very philosphical chick! A friend of mine died in a car accident - his 'friend' was drink-driving, and they hit the only tree along a straight stretch of road Makes you wonder Hope you are doing ok??

How's everyone else? Quite a lot of us on this thread now Bring on the BFPs

mistlethrush · 17/10/2007 15:26

The nerve. Just been sent home as people worried about catching cough - I've had it 3.5 weeks and no one has got it yet.

'Have you got enough work to be doing' !!!

mistlethrush · 17/10/2007 14:45

At work, feeling a bit sorry for myself as have horrid cough and I can't even drown my sorrows with a glass of wine and some benelin this evening!

Feeling vaguely queasy too (but that could be the cough as well). If this does work, determined not to put on 1stone in first 10wks - can't afford to.

How are you - please come and join me! (hoping things go right with me anyway)

toomuchtimeonline · 17/10/2007 14:34

What you up to today then MT? How are you feeling? Are allowing yourself to be a teensie bit happy? or are you not letting yourself think about it?

.. I'm hoping that your BFP will set off a few in a row! I'm officially day 1 in the 2ww so hope I come and join you soon {fingers crossed}
