new thread...again!!

OP posts:
noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 10:42

well I'll be starting from the beginning with the knitting

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 09:49

Ready I like the boots, I have some very similar ones but without the detail at the top. I think it is finally getting cold enough the start wearing them now. I am useless at casting on and off too so I guess my children will be dressed in bonnets with needles sticking out until my MIL comes to the rescue.

TJ so about your shopping spree, I hope it makes you feel better, shopping and going to the hairdresser always does for me. I like the suggested name change - go for it.

Audrey and Grace do it for me but I wish I had a slighter waist - maybe I should do more Pilates

Chinese herbs arrived yesterday so started on them straight away. Got a peak on the CB monitor this am!!! No highs straight to peak, and the BDing seems to be going well up to now!!

I haven?t got the book and need some wool! Are we going to knit the same thing and then compare?

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 22:36

... oh yeah, and I am with you on the boots. I have been hunting for a pair like that for ages! I am 5'5" so need a boost in the height department. But my stiletto heel knee length boots that I love to wear with thick winter skirts are no good for a days shopping - I am hoping these will still look feminine with skirts

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 22:33

TerrifyingJuice (yeah!!) - talk to Nomore about Audrey Hepburn - she is our Audrey
Sounds like you bagged yourself some quality vintage finds today - I adore the fashions of the 40s and 50s - the cinched in waists and the decadence - for me Grace Kelly is the quintessential fashion icon

TJuice · 18/10/2007 22:08

those would be really useful, i reckon. i can never find a good mid-heel black boot - I have several that are way to high, making me look like a tranny or totally flat, riding boot style.

i did some real life shopping today, which cheered me up. my two friends here have a vintage clothing shop and i snaffled up a long black aquascutum coat with gold buttons, an audrey-esque black 50's cocktail dress with jet beading, a green heavy silk, heavily beaded 50's cocktail dress, a charles jourdan black suede and gold leather bag and some massive heart-shaped gold bamboo earrings.

all totally not sensible, especially for up-the-duffdom, but like lighting up a fag at the bus stop, i am hoping pointless purchases like these may make it happen . . . (that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it)

need a name change suggestion - Terrifying Juice???

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 20:46

NOT BABY RELATED!!

Thought I would share these with you all, I quite fancy them - what do you all think??

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 19:10

get thee to a library ready

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 19:01

Oh no. I feel left out, my book is in storage (what a nit!!) so I am doing basic knitting - scarves only, and also with a knitting needle stuck in as I still cannot successfully cast-off!

The barney was about her asking about something that came in the post and him wondering why she needs to know

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:42

or play scrabble..

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:42

ready - repeat verbatim what's going on of course

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:41

ps have got my kniting book from the library (are we all working from the same one - Baby Knits for Beginners by Debbie Bliss??) but no needles or wool yet - am going to go shopping for some tomorrow lunchtime.

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 18:39

Cracking name change nooooomooooooore

Gilly - You are good at this aren't you

OMG!!! MIL and her partner are having a big barney along the hall from me, and I am trapped in my room - don't know what to do

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:35

PiggyPenguin · 18/10/2007 16:40

Hey everyone, loving the scary halloween names, umm, I'll have to get my thinking cap on...

I'm ok thanks Gilly, I have killer indigestion and slightly sore boobs but otherwise am not feeling the pg at all. Still, only 5 + 4 so early days yet.

I'm not too worried about piling on the pounds, I have done ok the two times and anyway, the bfeeding afterwards soon takes it off!

nomoremagnolia · 18/10/2007 16:34

gilly can you think of one for me - keeping the nomore bit if possible I'm struggling to think of anything

OP posts:
gillypumpkin · 18/10/2007 16:07

na, mine rhymed nicely in my head but didn?t look good on the screen, I like yours though

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 15:41

OOOh, I like that Gilly - but I had already changed to this... should I change it??

gillypumpkin · 18/10/2007 15:28

Ready to be scary?

Ready · 18/10/2007 15:19

ooooh yes, I forgot about Halloween names....

Ready · 18/10/2007 15:18

Guilty as charged Although I haven't been on the hunt for anything crazy today

It was a long time ago now that he died, but what you said about the clusters etc just reminded me. Definitely makes you realise how fragile life is hey

gillypumpkin · 18/10/2007 15:15

...and by the way i think we should all get topical names for halloween
