they should let you join if you live or work in that borough or an ajoining one. One day they will have a london-wide library card...

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 16:35

for ready and gilly

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 16:31

thanks Nomore! The Holborn one is more convenient for me as it is near work, will they let me join if I am not a Camden resident? If not I'll check out the Islington one.

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 16:03

have just looked online at their catalogues - try new baby knits (avaliable at Islington) or step by step knitting workbook (available at Holburn) Both by Debbie Bliss

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 15:53

do they have and debbie bliss books? there are other baby/childrens knits ones (by her) that might have very similar patterns in? Shame on your libraries

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 15:45

Islington Council and Holborn Council libraries are obviously saltless because they don?t stock it . I don?t know how to get hold of a pattern now unless I buy the book.

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 15:20

well done toomuch
I am feeling better - I hope the bug doesn't get in the way of ttc, otherwise that's a cycle of clomid I've wasted!
gilly you should find it in any library worth its salt

toomuchtimehaunting · 19/10/2007 14:54

Yay!!! My first nickname change!!

toomuchtimehaunting · 19/10/2007 14:53

test

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 14:52

Thanks gilly - will try now..

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 13:59

I'm with nomore on the knitting achievements to date so I think I need to start small. I actually need to get the book though as MIL will smell rat if I ask her to post me hers and the last thing I need is her asking if I?m pg Haven?t joined a library yet, would they have it there?

Toomuch very impressed on your knitting skills! The way to change your name is through ?my registration? at the top of the page.

Ready I have a very strange mental image of babies and knitting needles now, I?d get myself kicked out of London Nappy Valley if I was such a careless mother; esp in the dressing dept!

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 13:40

I can knit straight for scarves and hats .. and I've learned how to reduce for hats but I'm new to increasing and shaping which is what you need for a cardie I think.. so it should be exciting!

How are you feeling today? Do you know whether illness affects your chance of conceiving this month?

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 13:35

well so far I've only ever knitted about 10 rows of a scarf for my teddy (when I was about 9) and it's still not finished, so I'm starting from scratch! you sound like you know what you're doing though

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 13:32

I've knitted a few scarves and blankets and I'm a dab hand at hats .. so thought I'd test my abilities with the cardie.. I'm sure I'll give in soon enough.. But had hoped to make something for a friend's baby for this xmas.. as I say I aim high [gmm]

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 13:30

What are you aiming to make?

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 13:22

I have no delusions regarding my knitting skills!! I told BF that I'd make something for godson, but it will be in size 18-24 months as that's how long it will take me to make it (he's 9 months at the mo!)

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 13:19

Thought I would aim high

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 13:13

gilly that would work if I wasn't posting from different pc's
toomuch I am starting with the scarf at the beginning! I have my wool and needles now

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 19/10/2007 11:45

Super ambitious toomuch - but go for it!!

PMSL at the thought of some of our offspring (me and gilly )wandering around with knitting needles protruding from cardigans and hats

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 11:03

oo I like the haunting one - now how do I change it?

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 10:54

toomuchtimehaunting?

toomuchtimeschreeching?

toogoulish?

Nomore if when you log in you select the choice to leave you logged in then you don;t have to retype your name every time

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 10:45

p.p.s how is everyone else who has been feeing sick?

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 10:44

p.s. my knitting book has arrived and I ordered some wool on the net the other day so I'm waiting for that to come but I have my needles and I'm raring to go! I was thinking of making the lovely cardigan with the moss stich edging.. do you think it's a bit ambitious!?!

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 10:42

Morning all - sorry for my short absence however, I had my head down the loo - seem to have picked up that stomach bug that was going around.. althought my stupid brain is saying "could be early monring sickness" - god I am losing the plot!

Love the boots ready and very jealous of the vintage shopping TJ..

Now who is going to explain how I change my name... also I need some name ideas..

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 10:42

(why did I change my name to something so silly - it's just taken me 3 attempts to log in!!)
