toomuch and ready I know how you feel - ttc is bloody hard work
Hi floss how are you? how many weeks are you now?

mistlethrush · 23/10/2007 21:37

(((hugs))) to lots of people it seems. Sorry people are feeling down.

Ready, I know exactly what you mean. Have been there. Don't give up. I didn't - I know I had a bit of a set-back - don't let it get you down too - I didn't give up and look at me - fantastic son who, certainly at early low points I didn't expect to get. It took 6 years, but he was worth waiting for.

Friends of mine tried IVF but gave up part way through the 1st cycle - she found it too hard. But she has a lovely son now - she adopted him - expected to have to wait quite a long time after getting accepted, but were rung up within 2 weeks for an 8 month old. We had decided to go down this route if mp reoccured - just as we know now that if it reoccured, we would not try again (hoping this is not the case this time though, really don't want to go through that again)

(((lots of hugs)))

How about some shopping to lighten the mood?

Gilly - I know that its a bad date - but you have to turn it around - its now Jack's birthday - something to look forward to. What are you going to get him?

I got this for niece - and was looking out for it when I was pregnant, but couldn't find it, then was very pleased when sil returned it as no longer required (ds still likes it)

I love the jellycat range!

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 23/10/2007 18:48

Congratulations TJuice You are bound to feel nervous and worried, but do try to enjoy the early stages as much as you can All the best

Toomuch - Honesytly, it is like you are reading my mind. I have been thinking today if I am even capable of conception. Just because the eggs are there doesn't mean they know where to go. Yep, irrational thoughts is where I am at right now. So I sympathise. Big hugs.

Sorry to hear that you have miscarried MT

Nomore - What book are you reading

Hello to everyone I have missed I better go and look at the links of the dream shopping I have missed out on

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 23/10/2007 18:43

Oh Gilly - I am so sorry, chick. What a hard time you are having at the moment and today obviously is a hard day for you ((((big hugs)))).
Oh talk about mixed emotions, you are pleased for your friend of course, but the knowledge that little Jack's birthday will always hold sad memories for you is a tough thing to have to work through. If you ever need to talk to someone, feel free to email me, Nomore has my email address, and I would be happy for her to pass it on, if you'd like. I am also sorry to hear that the job is not what you thought it would be Oh, I am feeling really low today, and I could quite easily cry for all of us going through such sad times. Hang in there as best you can. Thinking of you. x

toomuchtimehaunting · 23/10/2007 18:23

Sorry nomore I'm just feeling a bit down this month..

I'm starting to worry that I'm not capable of getting pregnant.. Since I've never been pregnant before.. I know it's irrational..

TJuice- fantastic news- big congrats. I did at least 12 tests! See you over at Due in Juune...

sprinkling liberal amounts of babydust round the room....

gillypumpkin · 23/10/2007 09:28

TJ, I think it was all that vintage shopping that did it .

I'm not going to be around for a few days as I'll be in Glasgow with work. Really bad timing as I have real mixed emotions about it - 3 mths in and the job is not what I imagined, things have changed and now I will not be doing the big funding bid I was hired to do. The trip to Glasgow seems utterly pointless too. Feel very disappointed. Also today is a year since my mc and I'm not going to be with DH. And to top it all off my BF had her baby this morning - Jack 8lb born at 6:39am. I am so pleased for her but at the same time I don't want his bday to be a reminder of my mc date. I was also feeling very selfish yesterday when I found out her contractions had started as I sobbed because it wasn?t me . This TTC thing really drives me insane, I?m feeling better about it today though . How's this for clusters MT? I'll be glad when October is over.

mistlethrush · 22/10/2007 22:20

congratulations!

TJuice · 22/10/2007 22:02

yes, meant BFP. after all those (seems like hundreds of ) BFN, it is fantastic to see two lines (I have done four +ive so far . . .oh yes, the madness continues)

noooomoooorescarynames · 22/10/2007 20:37

snap gilly!!!
did you get my email?

noooomoooorescarynames · 22/10/2007 20:36

do you mean BFP Tjuice? if so - congratulations

gillypumpkin · 22/10/2007 20:36

TJ don't you mean BFP?

...like the pappose by the way

TJuice · 22/10/2007 20:29

if it should be baby-related, i would like this papoose.

TJuice · 22/10/2007 20:27

hi ladies. haven't been on here in a while because i got a bfn on friday, but i am pooing myself as i mc-ed in august. elated but pooing self, nonetheless.

sorry about your mc mt - its still a little raw for me. hope your are doing okay.

i tried these on last time i was in the uk and liked them (i know a lot of people will think they are a bit dodge but somehow i like the eurotrash leopard print)

scorpio1 · 22/10/2007 19:51

i have!
me one of these!

mistlethrush · 22/10/2007 19:50

Has anyone been doing any fantasy shopping recently?

mistlethrush · 22/10/2007 10:02

Sybil - based on our experience with primary school, get their names down now - together with any others you're planning! But secondary school there is also likely to be a screening process or exam probably - you'll need to find out. Good state primary sounds ideal. We're just going to scrape and save to send ds private though.

Glad the fringing worked OK!

Toomuch - life's not unfair - it was when had mp and were not allowed to think about conception for a year after chemo stopped - but now have wonderful ds and have nothing to complain about. 1st mc was very much worse than 2nd and 3rd - which weren't great, but have ds, which makes all the difference.

Increasing stitches - not too difficult - I tend to knit into the front then the back of the next stich. Sounds as though its going well though - keep going! I want to knit ds a winter jumper, just need to find a nice pattern, and I need to do one with a button neck fastening or similar so that he can get it off without too much aggravation - I always had the same problem!

PiggyPenguin · 21/10/2007 18:48

Oh MT, have just caught up with the thread and I'll really sorry

thanks for the fringing advice, it made perfect sense and ds now has a lovely fringed scarf for school!

We have a fantastic local state primary school, it came in the top five in the Times list of state primary schools last year and has made the top ten several years previously. Its incredibly tough to get in but we were really lucky and ds did, so now dd should get in on sibling rule. After that we would like private secondary but there are no really good ones locally. How early should you get their name on a potential secondary list do you think?
