am I being selfish to just think I want a baby whenever/wherever/however? (I have seen someone on MN refer to a martini baby, any time any place, anywhere!)

MT and toomuch - I agree that the article was an interesting read. I am quite stuck in my thoughts on the matter though, so I won't be stopping ttc to prevent a summer baby. If we are meant to have a summer baby then who am I to argue - but you girls have got to do what feels right for you, and if you feel strongly that summer babies suffer, and want to hold off ttc then that's what you've gotta do

Gilly - I knew what you were trying to say Unfortunately I am holed up in the spare room waiting for dh to get back. There is half a chocolate orange tempting me, but I think that I will wait until dh gets back, chocolate and a cuddle are a winning combo

Nomore - Ditto, I have changed it to more or less the layout it was before. I was not impressed with the changes - the colours were all wrong. Stuck in our ways???

Toomuch I sort of came across the class thanks to Nomore who sent me a link to the debbie bliss webpage and it has links to local places which sell her wool. To tell you the truth it all sounds quite posh in a North London kind of way I'm hoping to knit myself a bugaboo!

I just set mine to old colours, newest messages first and unlimited messages per page (so just like old MN then..) but I like the new options when you search for active conversations

Just discovered, it is the new way... go to the top of your page and click on "customise talk board" - you can change it so all the posts are on the same page etc... normality has once again resumed

OMG! Where did the halloween hats come from? What's going on with MN, first I couldn't post, then the colours went all different and the thread was split into pages and now there are hats everywhere (which I actually kinda like )

Re article - that's why (together with last year's 2 - 3 month worry post mc re poss mp) we won't be trying now until the new year. Ds born April - as he seems quite a bright spark, don't think that he'll feel 'young' - but if he was an August birthday and you were comparing him to September children the previous year, there would be a huge difference - that amount of time makes such a difference. I know the difference gets less as they get older, but its still likely to be significant at primary school - and that's where they learn how to learn which sets them up (or not) for secondary...

Have I made this up, but I am sure that some children started school at Easter when I was little

MT thanks for the link to the Jellycat range. I do like it! I got my god daughter (Jack?s sister) an upside down doll from it for her first birthday and it confused the life out of her! I definitely want to get the blue blanket with a star which Ready suggested and some stuff from Gap (if I can manage it without fainting at the cuteness of it all) and the elephant may be thrown in too .
Please don?t feel down about DS being an only child. We had this conversation in the TTC after MC thread as a few people on it were very down at the inability of giving their children siblings. I posted the point of view as an only child and I don?t know if this will help ? look for 12th Oct at 17:11.

I have also started on the Chinese herbs but I have them in capsule form so much easier but I?ve had to get a pill box from Muji just to make sure I?m taking the right ones at the right time .

BB I?m so pleased to hear from you and that your pg is going well. We need good news like that! But I?m sorry to hear about the ball being cancelled. Don?t feel too down about it though, learn from the experience, evaluate it and write it down for next time. With my fundraising hat on I can say it is a good idea and one you should not let go

Ready yes I am very pleased for my BF and I have yet to see any pics of the little man so no doubt I?ll cry some more. But my BF is a very matter of fact and at times formidable woman who I will volunteer to shut up about the baby/baby things if I?m feeling down. She knows she is very lucky. As for work I really hope it picks up. ?Cause I have lost all motivation to do anything other than think about TTC I don?t seem to be initiating any new projects and I am very bored! The conference in Glasgow was dull but a year to the hour of my mc I spent it discussing Persia and Alexander the Great with an Iranian academic. How surreal is that?

On a positive note I?ve signed up for a knitting course . Its three evenings at a local knitting shop to learn the basics. This is the first time I have done a practical evening class (formally I?ve done Italian x2; GCSE Archaeology, MA in Museum Management and a weekend course in photography with a lot of theory). Here's to an exciting world of knitting
