Hi @Loladoodle I get this one. I take 3 a day so 600mg due to my age. I first got them after a bad mmc in 2017 and then I fell pregnant with my daughter. I read the books sperm meets the egg which talks about it.

I did buy Q10 as lots of people on here were talking about Luissa Zissman and what she recommends but I went back to this one.

Works out expensive when taking 3 a day.

I'm not pregnant so can't say if they're having any effect at all but then I'm scared to stop taking them in case they do!

Good luck!

Hi @CC81 thanks for you message and giving me some information about tests. I had the 3 day test and 21 day test and the overall test in my basket this morning coming to a few hundred quid (credit card) but going to leave it for now. I know I'd want the scan too.

Accepting is really hard. I'm blessed with what I have I know and they are my world but doesn't stop me wanting another. My husband is happy and he is conscious he is 42 and he said he doesn't want to be an old dad so I'm trying not to create a fuss.

Good luck with your tests!

whatever1980 · 26/10/2020 14:53

Hi @Vie8126

I took soy last month and got a peak on my CBFM for first time in a few months which was a relief. Had got a peak on other OPKs around day 16 but was day 13 this time. Period went from 39 days to 26 days too don't know what to think about it all.

In August I started taking what felt like everything and the kitchen sink - DHEA, super lipoid acid, uniquinol, folic acid, pregnacare etc. Got headaches and palpitations so down to folic acid and ubiquinol and seven seas now. No coffee or alcohol and started salads and fish each day. Feel bit stupid I thought it would be that easy this time. Glad I didn't mention that I was ttc again to too many.

I can't help myself re gadgets though. Got a thermometer with Bluetooth last month but toddler up 3am which means I'm not monitoring temp. Bought an Ava bracelet from eBay this morning to wear at night.

Not sure what I'm looking for to help me. I need to relax though.

What sticks do you use?

Loladoodle · 26/10/2020 09:48

@whatever1980 can I ask you about ubiquinol? I’m considering starting this, how much do you need to take? And what brand/where from?

CC81 · 26/10/2020 08:44

Hi @whatever1980 - I'm 39 and TTC #2. Although we're considering accepting our family of three and moving on. It's a bloody hard decision!

I have very low AMH (low egg reserve) and have been told by an expert at a private clinic pretty much what you've said - it's still absolutely possible for me to get pregnant naturally.

Apparently there are lots of women walking around with low AMH who have no idea. Some get pregnant and some don't. It's all rather a lottery based on getting a 'good egg' in any given month.

He also said relaxing was very important... he says he wishes I hadn't found out about my low AMH! Grin

My periods are generally regular, but sometimes I have one that's a bit shorter or longer. Then I panic a bit!

This month I think I ovulated around day 19/20... so the dates are a bit delayed and hard to track. If it's coming (which it probably is), I wish my period would hurry up. Day 28 today.

I'm having my tubes tested next week (NHS) and can't be on my period at the time, so need to get it over with before then... Confused

Vie8126 · 26/10/2020 08:40

@whatever1980 ah okay ill have a Google today. Completely understand what you mean about wanting to know if it's a waste of time. I need to get more CB OPK sticks just seem to be throwing money at it left right and centre. Done well this month tho as AF due today and I've resisted doing any pregnancy tests this month which is a start. I'm worried where my cycle has shortened that the my lutuel phase from peak to period is now too short. Got a peak on Opks last Thursday and period due today so 11 days... Its all such a science and I probably don't know as much at 39 as I should about it all!

whatever1980 · 25/10/2020 22:19

Hi @Highlandmama and thanks for the welcome!

whatever1980 · 25/10/2020 22:19

Hi @Vie8126 I was googling the tests today and an article from the guardian came up from 2018 about similar tests saying they're a bit of a swizz 😶.

That your levels of AMH don't determine whether you'll get pregnant or not and age is the only thing to look at. That people whether high or low AMH levels have same chance of getting pregnant. I dunno now.

Just don't want to keep spending £££ every month on CBFM sticks and other OPKs plus ubiquinol is £20 a time if I'm heading to menopause

Highlandmama · 25/10/2020 16:12

@Vie8126 can totally relate to the snappiness /miserableness. DH knows to buy extra chocolate and give extra hugs! But still gets his head bitten off! Hope you are doing ok today!
Welcome @whatever1980 😊

Vie8126 · 25/10/2020 15:36

@whatever1980 aww yes that sounds like a plan. I should probably look to see if I can get the same by me for 100 as such a good price and at least you know if you should put to bed or not. I'm going to give it a Google. What sort of tests is ur?

whatever1980 · 25/10/2020 11:21

Hi @Vie8126 - good luck!

Think I'm going to try meditests I think - the cost can be part of my birthday present! At least I'll get some indication if worth carrying on with supplements and testing.

Vie8126 · 25/10/2020 10:38

Oh half my message disappeared! My 3 were conceived easy due to age 19, 24 and 28 so trying again at 39 is a different ball game! I'm 40 in February so not far behind you!

Vie8126 · 25/10/2020 10:37

Hi @whatever1980ely won't give me any tests as will come down to age etc.

whatever1980 · 25/10/2020 09:07

Hi @Vie8126 hope I can join? Your story is a bit similar to mine. 40 in December and trying to conceive no.4. Conceived first 3 quite easily (last one at 37) but this seems to be getting doffixult. Been trying since July but only properly since September.

Period has become a bit irregular since I got to 39.5. Last cycle was 30 days and this last one was 26. Think it may be my age. May be perimenopausal. Was looking at mediview private tests for £100 or so as don't think my doctors will give me a test.

Getting peaks on different tests I'm using but no positive yet.

Good luck!

Vie8126 · 25/10/2020 07:18

Thanks @sleeeeeepy I will look into Vit B complex was completely baffled as to why it suddenly cut short but has been regular. Well done on not testing just yet I have everything crossed for when you do. Cystitis is the worst so glad that's cleared up.

@highlandmama aww so cute at that age. Haha oh that's me and AF not even here yet but I am super miserable and snappy. I know I am doing it but can't bring myself to stop it, do you know the moods I mean? Hope you enjoyed wine and chocolate!!!

Woken up with super tender sore boobs but also stomach cramps and based on my mood my period is rocking up tomorrow as planned. Going to try to be nicer to DP today as yesterday I was a right bitch 😂

Highlandmama · 24/10/2020 20:35

@Sleeeeeepy yes so over 2020 and glad you are feeling better! Holding out hope for a good Christmas/new year... a good time for TTC! Mini baby boom 9 months later every year!
@Vie8126 DS is 2 thanks for asking! A little darling...most of the time!
Day 2 of AF and DH just called me his “lovely little hornets nest” so accurate lol! Pass the wine and chocolate! 🤣

Sleeeeeepy · 24/10/2020 17:31

@claireb7rg I'm so sorry lovely. I hope that your appointment goes well and do pop back and let us know. I think not being so focussed on it is good for sanity.

Welcome @Vie8126 I hope the thread brings you some luck and baby dust. I've found vit B complex has helped regulate my hormones and stretch my cycle a bit with no side effects.

My cystitis has now cleared up (hurrah) but feeling a bit knackered and grumpy. It's 7dpo and I've not tested which is unheard of. I'm just not feeling it. 2020 is really sh** isn't it ladies, let's hope 2021 is a bit better!

Vie8126 · 24/10/2020 17:05

Thanks both @LT103 no no tests I haven't been drs I think as I've had 3 children when I was younger it's an age issue and I'm worried they won't bother although no harm in asking I guess. In my head I'm only going until Xmas. Have you had tests?

@highlandmama yes I feel like now I need to share with people in the same boat and hear some positivity! Ahhh how old is ds1 wishing you lots of luck I'm sure you'll have some good news soon.

Highlandmama · 24/10/2020 15:56

Welcome @Vie8126 it’s good to share on here with people going through similar things and also lovely to see the BFPs on here too. I’m 37 and TTC no. 2. Started in June so this will be coming up to 6 months of TTC. Took 2 years to conceive DS but he was worth the wait so trying to stay positive!! Hope you do enjoy some R&R during half term.

LT103 · 24/10/2020 12:06

@Vie8126 welcome. I’m 38 and ttc#1. We’ve been trying for 6 months (although timing wasn’t great last 2 so I’m not really counting those). Have you had any tests done? I’ve decided to give it til xmas and if still nothing then I’ll contact the doctor. I had my d21 progesterone checked a couple of months ago and that was fine at least. I always ovulate though this cycle im going to be later than usual. Day 20 and still no peak opk 🤦🏻‍♀️
I totally get you. I always feel so optimistic with every cycle but as time goes on I’m starting to lose that a bit. I knew it would be longer at this age but I just worry it’s not going to happen!!

Trying4mylastmiracle · 24/10/2020 10:29

@Vie8126 welcome 😊

Trying4mylastmiracle · 24/10/2020 10:26

@CurlyNo2 😂 we always on the same boat me too that’s exactly what happened to me now I’m just a miserable person really like I’m not that old why is my body failing me soo much oh you can only laugh otherwise you will be drowning in pain which I am coming to terms with it all .

Vie8126 · 24/10/2020 07:52

Hi all, can I join? I'm 39 and ttc #4 but 1st with DP whose 30. We've been ttc now for 11 months its draining emotionally! I had so much hope to start with but each month its waning. Had a CP in June which was horrible for us both but positive was that well hey at least I work still albeit not completely. Been using CB 4 day opks for last 3 months been getting highs and peaks but my cycle has also changed from 28 days to 24 the last 3 months so starting to think it's declining fertility. AF due Monday but can feel it coming on have cramps and am so irritable/snappy - god help DP! Feel like throwing the towel in as it's never happening so just needed to offload and talk to others in the same boat!

Half term for me now too so looking forward to some r&r this week with my youngest who started year 7 this term and had a rough ride.

CurlyNo2 · 23/10/2020 22:12

I'm so sorry you are having a tough time! X

AF arrived 3 days early making this a 25 day cycle. That's never heard off with me, its always 28 and has been for years, without fail.

Highlandmama · 23/10/2020 10:19

@claireb7rg sorry you are having such a tough time. Out for this month ladies. Roll on cycle 6. Also the mice are back in the loft, directly above our bedroom!! Argh. So maybe mice reproduce on some sort of 28 day cycle too?! 🙄
