@Kitekat81 wow that's amazing, but yeah, I'd feel the same re: going private! Where are high currently at cycle wise?

@GuessHowMuch how did your scan go? Any sign of AF yet?

@bubblybrit hey familiar face! 😘

@MgW1 I'm waiting for my cycle to kick in! I feel like there's a ovulation-AF war occurring with me atm! 🤪 Not had my first period since MMC yet - hopefully soon! 🤞🏻

@TTCat39 let me know if you have any joy with CM and position! I feel like it's a dark art! 🤣 You can get lots of fluctuations with BBT! The main thing is looking for big dips and increases! 😃

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 to those in the TWW!!!

GuessHowMuch · 18/01/2021 22:39

Thanks for the egg info @Kitekat81 - I’m going to give it one more cycle (2 days late - so annoying that AF decides to faff around) and then I’ll have an read of the book you mentioned.

I’ve just ordered his and her’s Proceive vitamins on Holland and Barrett. They’ve got 25% off and then an extra 20% off on top so think it’s a good price. I’ve only been taking folic acid - hoping a wider ranging multivit might improve my energy levels at the very least.

MgW1 · 18/01/2021 21:58

@Kitekat81
Ah good i like to know if there are others at same stage ... good to have support through TWW 😊 hope you are well xx

Kitekat81 · 18/01/2021 21:33

@TTCat39 @MgW1 I'm on CD4 as well ☺️

Kitekat81 · 18/01/2021 21:31

@TTCat39 it's great to get in practice taking your temp, but your temps during AF aren't actually the interesting bit! I usually give myself a break in temping during AF. Have you got an app to put your temps into? It's very satisfying when you start seeing your chart emerge, then you can spend hours staring at it trying to see any signs that you might be pregnant! 😄 I use the Premom app and am very happy with it, but I know quite a lot of people like to use the Fertility Friend app.

MgW1 · 18/01/2021 20:54

@TTCat39
I can spell really , I am terrible for typos 🤣!!

MgW1 · 18/01/2021 20:53

@TTCat39
I just seem to like peeing on sticks so I would be the same too! I usually have 30 day cycle so il try at day 12 I think cos wold like to make them.last 2 months if not lucky this time. How long have you been trying ? Xx

bubblybrit · 18/01/2021 20:19

@TTCat39. I don’t know why I’ve applied this pressure to myself. Think it’s cos I expected to have a 5 month old by Dec 2021! Just need to take it a day at a time but easier said than done.

bubblybrit · 18/01/2021 20:15

Thanks @Kitekat81. That’s reassuring that some ladies on this thread have went on to have successful pregnancies. The EPU did say that many woman go on to have a successful pregnancy after a miscarriage but I also know quite a few people that have had multiple miscarriages. No reason to think it will happen to me but still at the back of my mind. Guess I need to remain positive....would probably be more positive if AF arrived sooner rather than later! How are you getting on? Sorry I joined the thread late and haven’t read all the previous posts.

TTCat39 · 18/01/2021 19:07

Hello @MgW1 !
I’m pleased to have a cycle mate Smile. Thanks for your support so far - you are a fountain of knowledge!
Yes, I suggested the pink CB OPKs. I had a mishap with one this morning (I know it’s too early in the cycle to ovulate but I feel better when I distract myself!) - has to get up for a wee at 6.30ish and bleary eyed I peed on it before putting it in the device. Silly woman.
My AF does this annoying but predictable dance of 3 days on, one day off, one day on. I’m on the one day off at the moment, so i’ll likely keep going with the OPK now until I get a smiley face. Here’s hoping anyway!

MgW1 · 18/01/2021 18:44

@TTCat39
We are at same stage with our cycle , I am on CD4 and I had quite a few wines at the weekend! Feeling more positive now. Are you the lady who recommended the pink clear blue opks? I have ordered some to try this time xx

thislittlebird · 18/01/2021 18:13

@Kitekat81 10 weeks is pretty good actually. we had our initial tests in the summer and they said they were fine so we carried on trying. I should have asked for a referral then but I didn’t because I’m an idiot so now getting one is proving a headache (my periods decided to go whacky in the autumn onwards which was not expected but here we are).

Shame about the acupuncture, I hadn’t thought of that being delayed too.

TTCat39 · 18/01/2021 18:06

Oh I forgot to mention - I was only taking Folic Acid before, but have started on Pregnacare Conception and also an extra boost of 1000mg vitamin C per day, as I have read it can lengthen the luteal phase. My wee is an interesting hue...like a hi-vis vest! Shock

TTCat39 · 18/01/2021 18:04

Just catching up after trying to calm myself down over the weekend! I did indeed have a glass of wine when AF arrived. Stopped short of drowning my sorrows, and am now back on the waggon.

@bubblybrit - I too have put a silly timescale on conceiving & giving birth before the end of 2021! Too much pressure - I just need to plod on for a bit longer.

Thanks all for the advice RE my last cycle length. I'm going to see how I get on this month with BBT and OPK, and pay more attention to my cervix position and CM. Basically get to know myself a bit better so that I have some details if/when I do speak to my GP.

I started taking my temp when AF arrived, and was surprised to see how high it is - A pretty steady 99.1F and now I'm on day 4 that's dropped down to 98.6F. I haven't done this before so I don't really know what i'm looking for apart from the drop to indicate I may have just ovulated, so i'll look out for that.

It has been really interesting to read about the fertility appointments as well. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and I am rooting for you all. xx

Kitekat81 · 18/01/2021 16:58

Ladies I've been looking into acupuncture, but unfortunately they are only taking on "urgent" cases at the moment during the lockdown. They've suggested I might want to try Chinese herbs in the meantime. Has anyone tried them?

Kitekat81 · 18/01/2021 16:47

@bubblybrit sorry I should have phrased that slightly differently - I meant that plenty have had successful pregnancies. Sadly I am very aware that getting pregnant isn't the final hurdle ❤

Kitekat81 · 18/01/2021 16:44

Welcome @bubblybrit! So sorry to hear about your MMC 💐 It's hard not to worry about your age, but there are plenty of ladies on this thread age 35+ and 40+ who have got pregnant. Fingers crossed 2021 is your year! 🤞

bubblybrit · 18/01/2021 13:40

@Pamparam when I (hopefully) get pregnant again I’ll also be getting an early scan as petrified of another MMC. I feel a bit in limbo at the moment as still waiting on my period even although it’s been 5 weeks since the miscarriage. I know they say 4-6 weeks but I’m so impatient and just want to start TTC again.

Pamparam · 18/01/2021 12:24

I 100% get you as I have a feeling I’ll have another MMC as I did before having my first, no reason to think I will but I won’t be surprised and I’ll be booking an early scan just in case!

bubblybrit · 18/01/2021 07:38

Thanks @Pamparam. I fell pregnant within 6 months with DD and conceived on my first cycle with baby number 2 which sadly ended in MC. So I know I don’t have much reason to be anxious but can’t shake the feeling x

@MgW1. I’m sorry about your losses. It’s such a stressful time. Fingers crossed that 2021 is a good year for all of us x

MgW1 · 18/01/2021 00:04

@bubblybrit
Same here , im 37 , had 2 mc and low iron levels!
Im ttc #3 xx

Pamparam · 17/01/2021 22:25

Welcome @bubblybrit. Luckily the cliff edge at 35 is very much exaggerated. It is a slower decline in fertility. If you had no issues conceiving your first then it’s unlikely some big issues will have suddenly come up! I was 37 when I had my LO! Sorry about your MMC x

bubblybrit · 17/01/2021 22:03

Evening All. I hope it’s ok to join. I had a MMC in December and currently waiting on my first period in order to start TTC once again.

I have a DD so will be TTC #2.

Feeling a little anxious as I’m almost 37 and keep reading how much more difficult it is to get pregnant after age 35. Even my GP mentioned this when I went in for a check up post MC to check iron levels as I was anaemic whilst pregnant. I now feel a bit of pressure to conceive before I turn 37 which is ridiculous when I write it down!

MgW1 · 17/01/2021 20:54

@M4v3r1ck
Hi , so where are at with things ? Have you had a period since mc? I cant keep up with everyone sp apologies if I have already asked ! Been chatting to a few ladies on here and on my other group who unfortunately have been in a similar sitiluation to us , its been so helpful xx

Kitekat81 · 17/01/2021 20:34

@GuessHowMuch for egg quality there's a really good book called "it starts with the egg" have you seen it? It goes through all the things you can do to improve quality i.e. diet, supplements, environmental factors etc. For diet it's pretty obvious - aim for a Mediterranean diet, lots of fish, vegetable, nuts etc. There is a supplements plan with different levels - basic for if you are just starting and have no reason to think anything's wrong, intermediate for if you've been trying basic for a while and need to step it up, advanced for if you are preparing for ivf, or if you have a known condition e.g. endometriosis. Then there are things in your environment you can do e.g. removing plastics from your kitchen, not using products like fabric softeners that have phalates in them. I've been doing the basic supplements plan for about 6 months, and have been taking a prenatal multivitamin, plus extra vitamin D, extra methylfolate, 200mg of ubiquinol (CoQ10) and omega 3 fish oil. I'm starting to step up to the intermediate plan so have already added vit c and vit e, and am thinking about upping the ubiquinol to 300mg or 400mg (putting this one off because it's quite expensive). To be honest I can't say that any of this works as clearly I'm still not pregnant, but the book is very convincing, and I like to think that I'm doing everything I can!

For your temperature, rather than setting an alarm, why don't you try just taking it when you wake up naturally, and see if you start to see a pattern emerging by doing it that way? As long as you are backing it up with other tools like opks or tracking cm, you could still get useful information from your temp tracking without it being 100% accurate.
