@Farfaraway1 I haven't been told by anyone that I was peri menopausal, but it has crossed my mind a few times this year as I've had some irregular cycles as well. If you had only 2 weeks between bleeds then it's probable that you didn't ovulate that cycle. Do you track bbt at all? It's useful for knowing whether you ovulated or not. If you've got sore boobs that's a good sign that you've ovulated that cycle.
I had four bleeds within 2 months in Jan/Feb this year. This was pre-TTC so I did not know what I know now about ovulation, I just knew it was not normal for me. My cycles became regular again in March, but then it happened again in August - 2 bleeds within 5 weeks. This time I was tracking bbt so I know what happened - I didn't ovulate when I should have, and by day 20 I guess my uterine lining gave up waiting and I had a withdrawal bleed, which if I wasn't temping I would have assumed was a period. Then I had another bleed 22 days after that - but I saw my temp go up so I knew that I had ovulated and the second bleed was a real period. My cycles have been regular again since Sept so I really hope that this isn't going to become a regular occurrence.

@Farfaraway1 I'm also 37 and was told from my bloods I'm peri menopausal ☹️ had a retest and they were fine this time round so non the wiser really. She said they can fluctuate month on month and that's why they retest to make sure.
I've had regular 24 day cycles up until this cycle which was just 17 days. We have male infertility issues so are now going private for IVF/ICSI in the new year so I'll guess I'll find out more then xx

I think I'm about 10/11/12 dpo now. Took a premom hcg test this morning - bfn. I knew it would be negative, thought that if I saw a negative test it might stop me from thinking about ttc all the time! Have been obsessing even more than usual this cycle, I think skipping the opks and not knowing my ov date made me feel more out of control than usual, have spent a ridiculous amount of time staring at my bbt chart 🤦‍♀️ So looks like I'm out this cycle, oh well, it'll be a boozy Christmas for me then! Am going to chill out over Christmas and then in January start researching other options like acupuncture and private fertility clinics. I don't want to rush into fertility treatments as I'll only be at 9 months trying by then, but just want to know what my options are. I'm on the waiting list for the nhs fertility clinic but no idea when I'll get an appointment or what they'll be able to offer me. All our initial tests so far have come back normal, but I'm starting to lose faith now that it's going to happen naturally for us.

Still early days , don't want to get too excited with last one ending in mc but its certainly a positive step. Got everything crossed now , my husband will be overjoyed he can have a few extra beers , im gona treat my self to some minty hot choc 👍🏻 xx thanks for your support xx

Got my bfp approx 14 dpo ( not sure when I ovulated tbh) Af is 5 days late - this has been a long anxious wait! 🤪 xx

@Farfaraway1 was it or the bleed before a full on period? Could it have been something to do with ovulation? Some women get bleeding around then due to the sudden drop of oestrogen right before ovulation...

Forgot to mention, when I saw the GP she mentioned there’s a small possibility it could be the start of peri-menopause.. 😱😱 but she then said not to worry, you can still get pregnant if you are peri-menopausal.. anyone have any experience with peri-menopause? I’m 37..

I’m waiting for AF to arrive, was due yesterday. But my cycle has been all out ☹️ Last cycle I had was only 2 weeks after the previous one! I got worried so went to GP as worried it was something to do with the D&C I had a few months ago. Blood tests were normal, she referred me for a scan, scan result normal. So what’s the bet having a period 2 weeks after the previous one, I now won’t get one for about 6 weeks.. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 I did take a HPT test on Sunday which was negative so know I’m not pregnant this cycle. Boobs are getting tender which is normal for me prior to AF arriving so she mustn’t be far away.. going to just enjoy the Christmas season and try to relax and have fun ☺️

@selina37 we are actual cycle twins 👯‍♀️ 😅 I’ve tried different things in different cycles but always resorted back to every day of fw as my logic is the more sperm there is the more chance there is. Who knows?! 😅 I’m not even going to try this month will enjoy dtd as and when I like and no tracking- enjoying Christmas is coming first this time and I will regroup in the New Year with more effort! Sorry your af arrived too hoping for a new year bfp for you 🙏 and everyone else on here!

@MgW1 hopefully it’s because it’s a milder case. I think they need to test for other things as well though. I actually have acupuncture booked in for tomorrow. It’s not with a fertility specialist but I saw this guy just before lockdown and I liked him - he explained everything he was doing.

I think I’m out this month as just had some spotting. I normally get this a day before af. I’m not as fussed this month as would like to see what the specialist says. We all seem quite in sync.

Onto next cycle... I'm thinking about DTD every other day, instead of everyday of FW so as to wait for sperm to build up slightly. At least wait until I feel the ovulation pains and then go for it, on the basis I heard ovulation is about 12 hours (at least) after such pain... 🤔

@Overlyanxious I'm glad you are feeling a bit better about things. That's great that you've got your referral so will hopefully get more information and support now.

@MgW1 I'm really interested in how you get on with the acupuncture! Do you mind me asking how much it costs? Was it easy to organise? Maybe I'll try it in the new year if I'm not pregnant by then!

I'm a bit uncertain of my ovulation date this cycle due to skipping the opks and only having bbt to go on, but I think I'm either 8, 9 or 10 dpo. So that means af due fri, sat or sun. If I don't catch this cycle my next fertile week is the christmas week as well.

Id try acupuncture but you need to do the 6 week course. I have a lady who specialises in fertility. She says il be preg in 3 months so lets just see 🤣 xx v. Relaxing x
