I started bleeding today so must be a chemical.
Does that make today cycle day one?

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 21:14

@BrilliantButScary yeah it helps to have a thermometer that has 2 decimal places for BBT tracking.
I use Period Tracker app to chart as it has a free TTC setting and creates a chart for you and after a few cycles it works out your cover line. Have a good read up on BBT charting it really helped me to understand the benefits of it. Tracking your BBT is also used by acupuncturists and homeopaths to look at your general health as well as fertility. Apparently it can tell you a lot about your health. I'm also charting in case I do see an acupuncturist and they ask to see my charts.

@Purpleflowers21 yeah totally understand. I don't find temping as stressful as I'm in a routine of taking my temp every morning and I like to see that temp shift, but can definitely see how a lot of people find it stressful. You have to find what works for you. I find each month is a learning curve and helps you as you go forward. I want to try acupuncture and see if that helps

@SunnydazeQ I am using opks but this will only be my third month using them (2nd month TTC). Fitbit was was a day out this month but my cycle was shorter than normal so I guess that makes sense?

@SarahMumof1DS do you need a particular thermometer to track BBT? I'm considering it but don't really no where to start.

@Purpleflowers21 that's a good plan. Smile I'm surprised by how consuming I've found it, especially my first TWW. But I think its partly due to having less daily distractions (working from home and local lockdowns!)

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 20:50

Sorry to all the newbies who have had losses or AF arrive. Best of luck to you for this cycle.

Fx that this is everyone's month! x

@SarahMumof1DS no I haven’t been temping or anything, because this is my first cycle ttc we decided to just dtd at least every other day and see what happens. Will probs do this for the first few cycles then if not successful start temping/ovulation testing. I just didn’t want to become obsessed with tracking as so many say they have

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 20:46

Hi @blueelephant91, sorry to hear AF arrived. I've been there multiple times convinced I was pregnant with soo many symptoms. Now I just ignore them so I don't get my hopes up. Fx this is your month!

SunnydazeQ · 07/10/2020 20:45

@BrilliantButScary thank you. Yes it is and from what I've read this is how acupuncture helps. Don't know but willing to keep trying as a friend tried more than a year and nothing until acupuncture. She gave birth recently so thought better to try now rather than wait.

Are you using OPKs too? Are you finding the estimates on Fitbit accurate? Mine was inaccurate for both my period and fertile window. Hope it is better for you and best of luck for the upcoming fertile period 💚

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 20:41

Hi @Purpleflowers21, are you temping as that's a sure way to find out if you actually ovulated. You should see a temperature range change. It helps to temp every day from CD1 to get a good picture on a chart. I get cramps most cycles around ov time, low in my groin area sometimes a sharp pain or a twinging sensation.

Hey could I join please?

TTC cycle 3 with a CP last month 😢
I’m 1dpo, AF due on 21st! Sticky baby dust to you all ❤️

BrilliantButScary · 07/10/2020 20:37

@Kg87 my cycles can be anywhere between 26-28, usually 27 (last month was 25 though which is very unusual!).

Welcome @blueelephant91 Smile

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 20:30

Hi @Emc16x! It's good you're going to have a more chilled cycle. I think we all need it sometimes. Good you're distracted too that helps!
Hopefully it works for you this month and you don't need the fertility clinic.
Baby dust for you!

My boobs are extremely sore. According to Ovia app my fertility score is a ten today is this normal? X

SarahMumof1DS · 07/10/2020 20:21

@MamaPheebz keeping everything crossed for you that it sticks!
It's very hard not to worry and it's easy for me to say, but it's out of your hands and worrying won't change what's to be. Try to stay positive and good idea to wait a few days to test. I hope you get that stronger line. It's strange because when I fell pregnant I had no idea about chemicals and faint lines as I hadn't ever TTC, so when I got my positive I didn't think any more of it and just thought "I'm pregnant" and that was it, apart from the first scan worries. Only thing I worried about was the cramping, I constantly had cramps that felt like I was going to get AF, but never bled and my pregnancy went really well. It just shows how ignorance is bliss and also you have to trust that everything will be ok and that's so hard to do.

Hi guys. Hope everyone’s ttc is going well! As I’ve said before I haven’t been testing ovulation and since I’ve just come off the pill I don’t actually know if I will ovulate this month. However my predicted ovulation date is tomorrow (according to flo if my cycles have returned to normal) today I have been getting slight pains in my lower right side so wondering if this could be ovulation pain, has anyone experienced this?

blueelephant91 · 07/10/2020 19:53

Hey please can I join?
My AF arrived yesterday after being 3 days late, I was convinced I was pregnant. So this will now be cycle 8 of TTC baby #2.

Kg87 · 07/10/2020 19:39

@BrilliantButScary heyy! 😊 I’m waiting for AF to finish too and my Flo app says I’m ovulating on 17th, how long is your cycle usually if you don’t mind me asking?

BrilliantButScary · 07/10/2020 19:14

@SunnydazeQ sorry about your MMC Flowers fingers crossed for your testing this Sunday. Is the acupuncture relaxing?

I hope everyone's week is going well. I'm currently waiting for AF to finish and my next fertile period to start (fitbit predicts ovulation on the 17th Oct).

SunnydazeQ · 07/10/2020 12:32

Hi Ladies
Hope it is OK for me to join as well. TTC baby#1 and we're in our 5th cycle this month. I fell pregnant last month only to miscarry at 5W4D, we were gutted but understood miscarriages happen more frequently than we thought. We were just happy to know that it was possible to get pregnant in the first place. What I did different to have BFP? I started acupuncture and within 2 weeks got a positive. I don't know if that's coincidence or not but continuing with it. My period was like clockwork prior to this but we still used the CB digital ovulation kit which worked really well. However after the MMC, I got High Fertility for 5 days then a Static Smiley on CD18 which would have normally happened on CD14/15. Currently on CD28 when AF would have arrived by now but now expecting it on CD33. I believe I am on 9DPO and won't be testing until Sunday at the earliest. Wishing baby dust to us all on this journey :)

Theawkwardblonde · 07/10/2020 08:07

@MamaPheebz exciting! Fx your line gets stronger! I've had a friend whose positive started out like that so you never know. Remain positive!

@Emc16x hi!! That's good you have a distraction and hope the house stuff is going okay.
I was adamant I wouldn't track this month but there I am, peeing in bloody opks daily! Got my peak today and I'm absolutely exhausted as I'm competing at my gym. I was asleep by 8pm last night so lord knows what tonight I'll be like 😂

Emc16x · 07/10/2020 08:00

Moving over from September bus. Hello to the familiar faces @SarahMumof1DS @Theawkwardblonde. I am not tracking this month! We’re in the process of selling and buying a new house and I’ve hardly thought about TTC which is good! I need a distraction. Well dtd when we want to. Not when my apps say or when the test sticks say. They’re always wrong anyway.

Hi and welcome to everybody! Crossing everything for you all in the tww! And sending baby dust for sticky beans all round!!!

Bit of background for me: I’m 16 months off my depo Provera injection. Irregular periods. Negative bloods from doctors and have a referral to fertility clinic in January. Still not giving up hope!!

MamaPheebz · 07/10/2020 07:56

@SarahMumof1DS
Everything I keep reading seems to end in a chemical loss but just praying I’m one of the lucky ones.
I’ve got a 2 year old too but like you just can’t seem to trust that my body knows what to do.

It is definitely impossible to relax but I’m just going to have to force myself over the next few weeks and give this little one chance to stick properly.
I got another faint positive today. Just the same as yesterday. I’m going to wait and test at the weekend to see if it is progressing. I’ve given my tests to my husband so I can’t keep doing them and stressing myself out. Xx

Purpleflowers21 · 07/10/2020 07:10

@Luckyelephant1 I get the exact same feeling without any reason behind it! I think possibly because I’ve been on the pill for so long it could have affected me but I know it’s all in my head. Maybe it’s because we want it so much x

SarahMumof1DS · 06/10/2020 23:14

@Luckyelephant1 you're not alone. I've been through the same thought patterns in my life too. Always worried I would have trouble falling pregnant when it finally came to it. I was 34 when I fell pregnant by accident and my son is 2 this week.
I've just finished cycle 5 and worried again I will have trouble now being 36 and early menopause potentially in my family. The doctor just sent me for blood tests and first one just came back fine and got another one to test my progesterone soon, but doctor told me not to worry. It's hard not to worry I know but if you don't have any apparent fertility issues and you're 31 I would imagine you're going to be fine. I've had a very stressful last 6 months aside from TTC and I wonder if that has played a part. It's so hard to relax isn't it, so much easier said than done 🙃

Welcome all the new joiners!

Sorry for those of you who have had losses, those who's AF arrived and those who have been trying for a long time without any luck yet. I hope this is your month!!
Good luck to those who have just started TTC and fx for a short journey to your BFP!

Baby dust to all!! x
