@Theawkwardblonde

I’m so sorry to hear that. You have all the period hormones whizzing about now. Just focus on yourself. Treat yourself to something nice and when you are feeling calmer call the doctors and start demanding some support.
Don’t give up on your dream but find peace in yourself and the life you have. You can’t carry on feeling like this. Xxx

Sorry for my lengthy messages 🙈

@Theawkwardblonde I'm really sorry to read your message. I just want you to know that I'm 36 and end of last year and beginning of this year I had a couple of cycles where they were 24 and 25 days in length and I started to panic as I've always pretty much been a 28 day person but actually when I looked back at my history of my period app even back in 2016 I had a 24 day cycle and some cycles it went up to 39 days! The reason I say this is because early this year I was panicking that my cycles were getting shorter but since February my cycles went back up to 27/28 days. You're going through a lot of stress and this can impact your body so please don't let that stress you out. I totally get not wanting to be an older mum as I didn't want to be either and I didn't get my first child until I was 34 and I still want another one. It was not my choice to be this age but I didn't meet my husband until I was 32. I totally get how you feel about that and you are not wrong to feel the way you do so please don't beat yourself up about that. Also my husband and I have had the same arguments about me caring more about ttc and I believe it's just men are wired differently and they also don't have the biological worry of time ticking away so it just doesn't occur to them how important it is to us. All I will say is communication and willing to understand each other's position was the one way we resolved our issue, I'm not saying it was easy.
It sounds like you and your OH need to take some time for each other, de-stress and find each other again. I've been at that point where I didn't want to go near my DH because he's pissed me off in a row about ttc and it's a horrible feeling and thought it was going to destroy our relationship.
So I just want you to know you're not alone. We're here if you need to vent more x

Hi @Theawkwardblonde, I just read your message and I am so sorry 😞 that really sucks. We are the same age and I get what you mean. It can feel so isolating when you are the one in the partnership who is exploring every avenue. I'm quite new to the forum and I don't have a lot of pearls of wisdom but I just wanted to reach out and say I am thinking of you. Xx

gracie2307 · 19/10/2020 08:39

Morning @SunnydazeQ how are you? Thanks for your message. AF arrived late yesterday evening 😔 had a bit of a cry and woke up having accepted it is what it is. Its a shame as I felt different and thought it might actually happen but nevermind. My DH is an eternal optimist and is always like 'We always have next month' which god love him is a great trait to have so I'm hoping some of it will rub off on me!

How are you feeling? It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! 😀 any good movie recommendations? I love a good movie on an autumn evening. Xxx

Theawkwardblonde · 19/10/2020 08:11

@Merrz I'm 29, DH is 33. Haven't actually been using protection for 3 years but properly trying 13 months..this will be cycle 14 if we continued.

Merrz · 19/10/2020 07:59

@theawkwardblonde sorry to read that. It's so tough isn't it. How long have you been trying? How old are you?

Theawkwardblonde · 19/10/2020 07:46

AF arrived 2 days early. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement as I have never had an early period in my life. Makes me now worried my cycles are starting to shorten.

I've had enough. DH and I aren't talking now. I said yesterday I don't want to keep trying anymore as it seems like I'm the only one who gets upset or cares about this. He was very chill and just said to happen when it happens. Needless to say I was upset and acted irrationally and had a bit of a wobbler and said there's no point us continuing as he clearly isn't bothered, only me. He said he will go private to get his fertility checked but in all honesty we can't afford it at the moment. I don't want to be an older parent-nothing wrong with them I just don't want to be-so I've explained my concerns around that and just feel so fed up.
The thought of sex now just makes me feel sick. I know that's an issue but im just so exhausted, I've forgotten what it's like to DTD while not trying.

So i came to the conclusion last night no more. It's not meant to be. The nhs aren't being very good re fertility but we can't exactly complain with covid going on, can't afford private. We're done, resigning to the fact that we can't have kids. No point stressing me out when DH doesn't seem too stressed.

Farfaraway1 · 19/10/2020 04:59

@Bizawit thank you 😘 And sorry to hear of your loss too ☹️ I’ve managed to go a whole day without testing (!!) but decided I’m going to test with FMU on Wed 20th.... wish me luck!! When will you test again? Flowers

Sonia2810 · 18/10/2020 22:41

Hi everyone my first post here but thought I would join yous as I'm in the TWW too. Been trying for just over a year.
Got 3 kids already but our oldest who's 12 is severely disabled and I'm 35 so hoping to conceive soon as dont want to risk falling pregnant in a few years time when there's more risk of down syndrome.

Hope yous are all well Smile and get good news soon

Liloulou · 18/10/2020 22:00

Hi everyone, first time poster, first cycle properly ttc for first baby. Apps showing it’s the first day in fertile window. Still a lot of acronyms and terminology I’m unfamiliar with as it’s all new to me. Let’s see how it goes...

Merrz · 18/10/2020 21:43

Sorry to hear about people having a tough time. Cramps have started this evening so looks like I'm out this month, onto cycle 7 Sad we dtd loads over fertile week so really thought we were in with a chance this month.

Bmeggar · 18/10/2020 20:33

Awww thank you @SunnydazeQ and @ValliBec, so kind and supportive of you to post back. 😘 Feeling a bit better this evening after a bucket of wine...the one small thing that makes a period when ttc bearable! 👌xxx

ValliBec · 18/10/2020 20:24

@Bmeggar aww I’m sorry to hear what you’ve been going through. When I had my Mmc two of my best friends were pregnant - one due the same week I was due and I found it really tough. Have you tried talking to your friends about it? I told my friends I felt crappy and was struggling and they were really good about it. It’s good that you’ve got such a supportive hubby but we are all here in the same boat so feel free to vent away ☺️

SunnydazeQ · 18/10/2020 19:23

@Bmeggar so sorry to hear it's been so tough for you. You've got us here on the forum so venting is totally fine. Big hugs 🤗

SunnydazeQ · 18/10/2020 19:16

@gracie2307 how are you hon? Hope you had a great weekend with your friends! You're not out until AF arrives so keep positive. 🤞xx

I've had a wonderful weekend with hubby doing nothing but random lovely things like repotting a few plants, making granola, applesauce and a nice lentil curry 😊 We've enjoyed cuddling in this weather and watch movies 🧡 Love autumn

SunnydazeQ · 18/10/2020 19:12

@jessicalouise10 how lovely!! Congratulations!!! 🎉🎉🎉

PurplePops · 18/10/2020 19:01

Congratualtions @jessicalouise10 xx

Bmeggar · 18/10/2020 18:58

Thanks @kimberley94 🙏 I’m tracking opk’s although not sure if this last lot were accurate as still had HCG in my system. I’m fairly sure I did ovulate (felt particularly frisky 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️) but the opks stayed ‘high’ for almost a week which obvs isn’t normal. Just gonna write this month off and start tracking temp and opk once period stops. Feel like if it doesn’t happen this next month then I might stop until the new year - just so I can relax, drink wine and enjoy Xmas! What a shitty year 2020 is! I know lots of worse things have happened for others this year, and am genuinely grateful for what I have. It’s just a bit exhausting sometimes. 😴 xx

gracie2307 · 18/10/2020 18:48

@SparkyLauz I am so sorry that you aren't feeling so great 😔. It can be really hard. The most important thing is to be kind to yourself. It is gutting when AF arrives but trying to take some time for yourself helps ease it. Have you talked to your DH about how you feel?

Yeah I'm ok thank you, I think I started spotting earlier so I think I am out this month too ☹ Hang in there and always here if you need to talk. The most important thing is supporting one another xx

kimberley94 · 18/10/2020 18:13

@SarahMumof1DS thank you hun I’ve no idea about the creamy CM but I’ve got it too? 2 days before AF due, not loads of it either Hmm xx

@Bmeggar I’m really sorry to hear about your loss hun, it can be really hard when your close friends announce their pregnancy’s and then your going through grief while still being happy for them, fingers crossed this cycle will be your cycle are you using temping or OPKs or anything?xx

Dogmum13 · 18/10/2020 17:52

Cramping started today for me so think I'm out this month but tbh after this long we both don't think it's going to happen naturally anyway. We're just waiting for the 12 month mark so we can go to the gp. I have however had really bad acne like 30 spots all down one side of my face in patches. I never even got acne as a teenager just the odd random spot but increased the amount I was using my face mask 2 weeks ago so it's most likely a reaction to that.

Bmeggar · 18/10/2020 17:24

Ladies, I’m struggling today. Been ttc since Jan 2020, stopped using contraception in Oct 2019 (a whole YEAR ago! 😱). Got pregnant in July/August, after lots of crappy scans, had a d&c at 9weeks. That was almost 4 weeks ago. Whilst going through miscarriage, 4 of my close girlfriends announced their pregnancies (same due date month as I would have been 😔). Started ttc again immediately after bleeding from d&c had stopped, REALLY hoped to get pregnant again immediately but instead I got my period (early) this morning. So today, I’m gutted. Low, miserable FED UP of trying and feeling hopeless. I know in the grand scheme of infertility that 10/11 months trying isn’t long but this feels like an eternity. I have a 4yr old and so hoped that he’d have a baby brother/sister by now 😔 Instead there’s no sniff of a sibling. Eugh. Sorry. Just venting. Amazing hubby but still feel alone, obsessive, and a bit depressed...x

MamaPheebz · 18/10/2020 17:15

Yes creamy but not thick and sticky. Almost watery. X

ValliBec · 18/10/2020 16:53

@jessicalouise10 huge congratulations! That’s such exciting news!
