OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 11/10/2007 13:58

you need these!!

mawbroooooooooon · 11/10/2007 13:57

I don't find it difficult anniemac although last month's chart was all over the place as ds was ill so I was up in the night with him a lot and having to take temps at funny times.

You can buy special basal body temp thermometers (I believe) but I just have a normal digital one. I think it said in the book that the ear thermometers aren't accurate enough though. And you will need some form of chart for recording your temperatures on. I have copied the one out of the Taking charge of your fertility book, however I believe that there are all sorts of charts available on the net. You do need to read up on it though because the data is meaningless if you don't know how to interperet it.

I read Toni Weschler's book a few months ago when I was convinced that I wasn't ovulating (still breastfeeding) but I saw very quickly that indeed I am ovulating and now know roughly when it's going to happen and to act accordingly around that time

thetryingistrying · 11/10/2007 13:55

too late for me i have peed on 3 sticks already.

i tried the temping thing but at the time dd wasn't sleeping v. well so it became impossible. maybe i should give it another go.

Are any of you self proclaimed testaholics charting?

No need for tests if you chart because your chart can tell you everything you need to know.

Basal body temp rises after ovulation and stays high during pregnancy, but drops if no pregnancy happens.

Temp still high after 18 days (or more than four days longer than your normal luteal phase)? Pregnant.

Temp dropped? Not pregnant.

Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of your Fertility explains it all.

And, because you can only measure your basal temp after you've been asleep for more than three hours, there is nothing to tempt you and you just have to wait until the next day.

That sould have read

"My name is Pixie and I am a "pee on a stick" addict!"

Opps see what my obsession is doing to me!

pixie04 · 11/10/2007 13:09

My name is Pixie and I have am a "pee on a stick" addict!

I even test a couple of days after AF has arrived just in case it wasn't a real AF. I go through them like loo paper and buy cheapys in advance off ebay.

I even did an OPK and a HPT at the same time to see the difference. I love my OPK's though because I get a faint line everyday (apparently thats a BFN in OPK land). I just like to see what a BFP would look like IYSWIM.

lissiethevampireslayer · 11/10/2007 12:20

pmsl kitty, i saw those too. v tempting! my SiL has waiting til af is 3w late before testing with her 2.

HOW?

OP posts:
spookykitty · 11/10/2007 12:17

hi lissie if we could only wait until AF turns up or not, don't you hate it when people say whey do you test early I waited until AF was 2 weeks late ffs - who are these people?

I am seriously considering giving DP my purse and cards and only giving me £2 a day so I cannot buy any hpts (although have seen some in the £1 shop 3 for £1 (although will probably tell me I'm a man or something)

SK walks away muttering I WILL NOT TEST TIL HALLOWEEN
