Hey guys! TTC since March! Periods have become irregular since I took Northisterone (to delay my periods) in January! So my days may be off (deffo will be off) but it's worth a try. Just stress as my partners in the army so he's away all week and I feel he will miss my most fertile days 😂 any others want to share the journey?

@Flower3411 That looks like a positive OPK to me? So you're either due to ovulate soon or it can mean your pregnant. Ive seen a lot of ladies on here have positive OPKs and then get a positive test. Are you sure you ovulated 12 days ago? If i was you and was sure i ovulated Id be looking at testing. Fingers crossed Xx

lucyrp · 28/09/2020 17:38

@Flower3411 they really don't! I was using a mix of clear blue and fermometer ones after my cp I bought a box of 50 and used them all because I had to try keep an eye on my LH levels. I'm forgetful with temping too the inly way I can do it is thag my OH wakes up at 6am to an alarm for work so I take my temp then even if i go back to sleep which is not often as my 5 year old decides then is a good time to wake up too 🤣

lucyrp · 28/09/2020 17:36

@2020letsdothis you'll be a psycho in no time let me tell you 🤣 it was awful I couldn't believe I was pregnant and I doubted myself for ages and then when I finally started to believe it and go to the midwife I bled 2 days later! ☹️ thanks you too ! Xx

lucyrp · 28/09/2020 17:31

@OliviaGrace1x I have got Instagram yes! Il private message you on here ? Do you use the browser or the app for mumsnet ? X

OliviaGrace1x · 28/09/2020 17:22

@lucyrp have you got Instagram or anything? Seems as we're the same age and we're both TTC it would be good to speak where the comments aren't overflowing?😂if you're out your username I'll delete it as soon as I've seen it! If that's ok anyways no worries if not! X

Flower3411 · 28/09/2020 16:27

@lucyrp yeah, I can agree with you, nobody ever tells you about this part of TTC, being so young as well I think it can make us worry twice as much (naturally what we've been taught to think really) & yeah, I will phone them tomorrow and just say that! I was using the clear blue monitor but it's super expensive and considering I something don't get a peak until CD30, but now use the Femometer ones and they seem to do the job! I really struggling temping because I'm so forgetful, but hopefully next cycle will stay on track.
@2020letsdothis I am also the type to get obsessed very easily but I think you say you're going to be relaxed and a month or two in and you're a psycho woman!🤣 the apps are good for predicting your fertile week most of the time but not the actual day of ovulation I find. I always said I'd step away from mumsnet or relax on the testing etc but it never happens. I am very much not as stressed out about it all as I was before because going into month 14 of TTC I'm just like oh Fuck it 🙄🙈 I thought at 23 I'd be pregnant straight away. I came off contraception and someone who was on the same as me said oh you'll be pregnant immediately I came off it and within the first cycle I was pregnant and I was like oh great easy but obviously not 🙈 it wasn't nice I didn't bleed until 7 weeks I was 3 weeks late on my period and booked in with the midwife and everything and 2 days later I bled. They tried sending me for a scan to Check the baby but I already had a gut feeling there wasn't anything in there and they did bloods instead. Thanks. No problem xx
Sorry post sent too early! Well I'm here if you ever need a chat, really appreciate your insight :-) really hope October is your month!X

Oh I can see myself becoming a psycho woman 😂 I've braved myself that this could be the start of a long journey, and just to take every month as it comes... we will see just how chill I am in a few months time 😂 Aw you poor thing, that sounds horrendous. What an experience to go through. But you've got the right attitude! Just need to keep marching on and stay positive it'll happen. Easier days than others I'm sure but

wildraisins · 28/09/2020 16:02

@CookieMonster3001 I get comments like that sometimes too (I'm 31) and it really grates me!

Some seem to think it's OK to tell women what they should be doing with their bodies and when they should or should not be pregnant. My advice is IGNORE it, even if it's coming from someone you love!

At 22/23 my mum was like "Don't get pregnant yet, you are too young"... Now it's "Hurry up and have a baby already! I want a grandchild!"

So apparently I should have announced I was pregnant within the exact window of several years that she dictated was "correct". It's always said light-heartedly but still really annoys me.

(Rolls eyes)

If it feels right for you and your partner and you both know you're ready, then go for it, whatever your age!

33 is still young and I read that fertility doesn't really start decreasing until 35, so you are fine :)

Flowerkm · 28/09/2020 15:38

@CookieMonster3001 Im also only take folic acid and VD Smile oh bless you, thats a question you never ask someone as its so personal :( we have recently brought our first house together so of course the next step is a baby and people have asked when are we going to announce the news..and Im like err?? But then also a lot of people still say enjoy your life you're young..so Im in the middle lol

Been catching up and lots of people with lots of different stories Smile looking forward to October! Fingers crossed for us all ⭐️

lucyrp · 28/09/2020 15:30

@Flower3411 all you need to say is that you and your partner have been trying to conceive for the last 12 months and you haven't been able to and just wondering if you could speak to a doctor about it regarding some tests! It is a relief but secretly I'm hoping it's just my chemical that's messed me up and soon I'll be fine ☹️ I just want to conceive naturally I had no idea it would be this difficult especially at 22/23! Also what opks are you using?

2020letsdothis · 28/09/2020 15:29
@2020letsdothis I wouldn't really listen to apps if I were you, your best bet is to track with opks and bbt, I used the clear blue opks which you're supposed to start on CD8 of a 28 day cycle but there's a chart in the instructions which tells you when to start them based on how long your cycle is. I find them easier than the cheap ones but they are pricey. I also use bbt although the last couple of months I didn't as my cycles went so long compared to normall. I'm normally a 30 day cycle woman but I had a chemical pregnant in may and since then I've had one of 72 days and one of 48 and I'm currently on CD23 of my next praying for a BFP or AF
Oh really? That's interesting. I doubt them a bit cause I'm like how can this app possibly know! But I was having some pain around the time it said I would be ovulating the past few months, so I'm hoping it's not too far out but definitely want to figure out specifics. I'd just ordered some clear blue ovulation tests on Amazon before seeing your message, going to give them a go. Had thought about temp checking too but nervous of getting myself a bit overwhelmed with all the checks, I'm the kind of person who would 100% get obsessed! Although in saying that I reckon I would anyway, no matter what. It's a bit hard not to isn't it, when you want it so badly. Sorry to hear about the chemical pregnancy, I'm sure that was very tough for you. Oh fingers crossed for you this time🤞🏻 sending you positive thoughts! Thanks for getting back to me xx

2020letsdothis · 28/09/2020 15:22
@2020letsdothis just saw your other post too! How long is your cycle usually? Depending on your cycle length you’ll need to start using opks on a set day ☺️ Some tend to find they ovulate earlier or later than the aps! I tried to stop using the apps for a while and “relax” but that hasn’t helped 😅 do you notice any other things around ovulation? Ewcm? Lots of women on here also go by that rather than ovulation tests xx
Thank you! It's def something I'd be interested in, and think it would be worth the money. Reckon we'll try October, November, December and if nothing then I'll contact the private hospital near us and see in the new year. My cycle is usually about 34 days. The past few months I've noticed a little bit of pain around the time the app indicated I'd be ovulating, or close to ovulating. I'd never really noticed it before but it's def happened I'd say the past 3 or 4 months. I only checked it against Clue as I was curious what it might be and Google seems to say ovulation paid can be quite normal, so hopefully the apps aren't too far out. Other than that I've not really been keeping too much of an eye out for any other symptoms but will definitely this month and going forward. Fingers crossed for us all that we get the result we want soon Smile xx

Flower3411 · 28/09/2020 15:21

@lucyrp I had an ultrasound to check for cysts etc and everything was fine, this was for long cycles though. Sounds sooo silly but I'm super anxious and go to call but have no idea what to say to the receptionist lol. My best friend had her little boy at 17 and he's a little star!! So glad they're referring you to a fertility clinic, must be a little relief!

lucyrp · 28/09/2020 15:17

@Flower3411 have you been to the doctors yet ? They advise trying for 12 months yourself before getting help. I'm 23 and Ive been trying since august last year so they've done a few blood tests for me and are now referring me to a fertility clinic. Btw you're not too young I had my first when I was 17 🙈

Flower3411 · 28/09/2020 15:15

Hey :), Can i join? My cycles are super irregular they range from 40/60 days! Im 20 (young i know, but 100% ready) my partner is older too. Been over 12 months already and at a loss really. I get positive OPKs but still not certain i am ovulating! So stressful but hopefully so worth it in the end x

Izzie94 · 28/09/2020 15:06

@2020letsdothis hi lovely! I definitely think it was worth it, for peace of mind✨ I had mine early too, around 3 months ttc just because I wanted to know everything was ok! It was only £150.00 I didn’t think that was bad! It certainly stopped me stressing ☺️ - although, nearly month 10 now and I’m worrying they missed something. But that’s cause im probably a little crazy lol!!! Xx

2020letsdothis · 28/09/2020 14:56

@Izzie94

Heyyyyy, can I join too please 🙋🏽‍♀️ Been trying since January, ahhhh! I’m 26, my partners 31. I recently paid for private fertility checks (blood tests and internal scan) - lol yes I’m crazy and thought something was wrong. But all is ok! And my partners SA was spot on too!

Currently on CD32, (usually 28/29, but haven’t tested yet as my boobs are less sore so it seems af is coming any day) onto cycle 10 😅

Hi Izzie94,

I've been wondering about tests! I'm a bit of an over thinker to be honest, and have been wondering more about these tests recently. Were they worth the money for the peace of mind do you think? This will be our first month trying, so it would be more out of curiosity than need at the moment, but part of me thinks it might save time further down the line if necessary! Glad to hear all was well with yours!!xx

2020letsdothis · 28/09/2020 14:53

Hey!
Can I join too? 31 year old here. This will be our first month TTC, with baby number 1. All a bit overwhelming but exciting to be honest! Not overly sure what I should be doing. According to Clue, my period is due 9th October (has been spot on, give or take a day or 2 the past few months). Can anyone advise when I should start Ovulation tests? is it at the start of the month, or your period? My app says I'm due to ovulate 29th October, but a bit nervous this might not be totally accurate. How are others finding the apps? Do you find they work well? I currently take folic acid, anyone any other recommendations? Thanks Smile
