TTC #1, cycle 13 and fed up! Whose with me?

Hello. So AF arrived yesterday which means I'm officially on cycle 13 of TTC. I'm a healthy 28 year old with husband whose 33. We've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the time we've been actively trying. We are just waiting on our dates for blood tests and SA for husband.

Needless to say I'm bloody fed up! Had 3 friends announce pregnancy news in the last week, and one friend is due in 4 weeks. TTC is definitely starting to take its toll on both of us and the realisation that something may be wrong is starting to sink in.
Who else is having similar? Please feel free to share/rant!

AF is due by Tuesday (cycle varies from 23-25 days at the moment). I just get anxious now. Too scared to be excited or optimistic now 😕

Theawkwardblonde · 24/09/2020 22:19

@Rosie189 ah that's a buggar! Nothing worse than missing ovulating. But I bet it's nice when you get to see your husband again.
You never know, ovulation may just delay itself and time it with his return 😊

@xoJellyBean hello and welcome! Have you been TTC since coming off the pill?

xoJellyBean · 24/09/2020 21:55

Do you mind if I join?🙈 been off the pill since October 2018😓

Rosie189 · 24/09/2020 20:45

I’m on cycle day 14 and reckon due to ovulate in the next day or so. I’m not tracking though as husbands away working till next week so likely a wasted cycle for me 😫

Theawkwardblonde · 24/09/2020 20:29

Interesting to know where everyone is-we have a varied bunch! Excited to see what updates there will be over the coming days 😊😊

@Nellle hopefully you get that positive OPK! 2ww is the worst!

@CurbsideProphet you're not out till AF arrives-fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

@LS2020 oooh hopefully you get ovulation soon 🤞🏻we DTD so much last month I'm in the mind set where I can't be bothered this coming month. bloody TTC taking the fun out of everything!

@Rosie189 yes I was similar with the spotting. Only seemed to start one we actively were TTC. I get your complaint re work and lockdown. My friend was able to get reduced hours but still get paid, and then eventually got paid leave to look after her kids. She was mosning it was stressful, while I had to pick up 2 other people's jobs as a result 😂 I would have taken the kids over work stress any day!

@Cha0907 I’ve only really told my best friend as we both started trying around the same time. I’ve had to mention to a few people at work as there is quite a few safety concerns related to work, I’ve hated having to mention to people at work though as it feels really revealing and awkward.

@Theawkwardblonde so frustrating when your cycle decides to do something weird. The past few months I seem to be getting spotting 4 or 5 days before my period. Never happened before! Although maybe I’m just paying more attention with constant symptom spotting.

@Nellle I’ve hated the complaints about lockdown and kids. We were out under crazy amounts of stress during lockdown with how busy work it. Had to be at work. All mums were furloughed and those of us working with such reduced staffing levels were under so much strains. A couple of them have said we had it easy and it’s been hard to not loose it at that!

LS2020 · 24/09/2020 18:06

@Theawkwardblonde sorry about AF but at least you know now. I’m a super boring CD7 so just waiting for FW. I read online you can ovulate early with a CP and had some sticky CM today so think I might have to get on with DTD daily soon so I don’t miss my chance 🤞🏻

CurbsideProphet · 24/09/2020 15:35

13 dpo here 🙋🏻‍♀️
I have short cycles so it's day 21. I couldn't resist and poas this morning which was a bfn. I have all the symptoms I had before my bfp and then chemical pregnancy at new year - seasick / travel sick feeling, terrible headache, exhausted. These aren't normal PMS symptoms for me, but of course they might just be this month 😬

Nellle · 24/09/2020 15:12

@theawkwardblonde Sorry about the bloody AF, but great that you feel some relief. Wishing you all the luck for the next month and welcome to cycle (lucky?) 13!

I'm on cycle day 16 and somehow haven't managed to get a positive OPK! Usually regular as clockwork on day 14 so not sure what's happening... Either way, I'm in the 2 WW. Torture!

Theawkwardblonde · 24/09/2020 13:48

Well the missing AF has arrived today with a bloody vengeance (pardon the pun). I'm actually relieved as this means I can start the prep for cycle 13. Where's everyone at on their cycle? Anyone in TWW?

OP posts:
LS2020 · 24/09/2020 07:46

@Theawkwardblonde nope nothing, had my day 21s that month too and they confirmed I’d ovulated so all was normal really and then I must have ovulated the following month as that’s when I got my CP. the short bleed is really odd - anything more today? Tbf if it was implantation it takes 48 hours for HCG to hit detectable levels so you might want to consider taking another test at some point 😊

Theawkwardblonde · 24/09/2020 04:54

@Rosie189 I know right? It's mental. I usually have heavy periods which is why I'm confused this cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️
Must be hard with hubby away. Fingers crossed you get a BFP soon.

@Nellle hello!
Sorry to hear about your mc. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you soon! Yes all my friends with kids have twisted about lockdown and kids-lucky buggars 😂😂

@LS2020 typical isn't it? Was there a reason for your dodgy period and did your cycle return to normal? Do I class my minimal bleed as a period? It's completely knocked me out of sync

Hi @Rosie189

I haven’t told any of my friends we are ttc but A few of my friends have had miscarriages so I think they would probably understand. Still not sure I feel comfortable telling people we are ttc not sure why just feel like it might make people feel a bit awkward 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi @Nellle

The 2 week wait is torture. Always symptom spotting and googling symptoms 🙈 then getting your hopes up for them to be totally shattered when AF turns up 😭😭

I know lockdown with kids must of been hard. My friend had a baby during lockdown and she had been out a good few weekends. I just keep saying to my partner ‘can’t believe she is out again’ why would you not want me to home with your precious baby 🙈 I know everyone is different and you don’t always know what someone is going through but just couldn’t imagine leave my newborn so early on maybe just me 😭

Nellle · 23/09/2020 21:36

Hello similar ladies!

👋
So hard, isn't it? We started trying 2 and a half years, got pregnant quite quickly and sadly lost our bean just before 12 week scan. We took a break, but now we're also on cycle 13 with no luck! I think we felt our MC meant fertility was on our side, so feeling a bit hard done by.
🤔

How does everyone cope with the 2 week wait? And when AF comes... It's torture!
😐

But my main bugbear at the mo though... Women (friends and colleagues) complaining about how it was "soooo hard doing lockdown with kids, you're so lucky!"
🙄

LS2020 · 23/09/2020 20:53

@Theawkwardblonde honestly swear the only time my AF was like that was when I was due to have day 3 bloods done so was a nightmare booking them. Annoyingly I always found getting a bfn helpful as was like my mind had accepted it and af would arrive full force so hope you get an answer either way soon!

Rosie189 · 23/09/2020 12:17

@Theawkwardblonde it’s so weird to have spent so long being worried you’d get pregnant accidentally and now being ready and not managing. I went to the drs last year as after googling (worst thing you can do) I was convinced I was in early menopause or had cancer. The dr mainly brushed me off but I did have some blood work which was all ok although I’m not even 100% what was checked. I have really heavy periods that make me feel ill and I struggle to get through the day. I think I might have endometriosis but I always feel I’m brushed off when I go to the gp so find it hard. Also we’ve only been properly trying for a year (although not mega careful for around 18months) and with hubby being away realistically we’ve only tried for maybe 7or 8 cycles as he’s away 3 weeks at a time.

@Cha0907 Baby chat is hard. Two of my close friends started trying around the same time as us and now both have babies. I know they’ve both found it tough to have given birth and not have much support due to the whole COVID situation. One is my best friend and I feel like she’s worries about chatting to me honestly sometimes which is a shame cause I know she’s had a really hard 6 months and want to support her, but it is a little hard to hear the moaning. SIL is due in dec although I think they’ve struggled too.

Theawkwardblonde · 23/09/2020 10:56

@Cha0907 it's awful isn't it 😂 I have permanent bitch face when people tell me they're pregnant now 😂

@Rosie189 hello! Aww sorry to hear you've been trying 13 months. It's all soul destroying. I'm the same. Worried there is something wrong. I've had a very weird 1 day spotting which I thought was a period. Sat here now 14dpo and no period, no BFP so clearly something up with my body. I'm terrified now that this means I've stopped ovulating at the age of 28 😞

Rosie189 · 23/09/2020 00:52

I’m officially on cycle 13 too. I’m 32 husband is 33. I’ve been off the pill for almost 2 and a half years for other reasons. Husband works away so technically not tried every cycle as often doesn’t match up. I’ve had irregular and heavy periods since coming off the pill although much more regular in past year. I had some bloods for pcos around 9 months ago which were all normal. Had planned to go back to gp in March to discuss further scans because of the heaviness of my periods but covid stopped that. I’m now almost scared to go to docs. Not sure I want to know if there is something wrong or not. On the other hand it’s a bit soul destroying.

Cha0907 · 22/09/2020 22:15

@Missgoldilocks thanks that’s good to know! I’m not really looking forward to getting to that stage though!

My cousin and partner have announced they are having a boy tonight really struggled to keep the 'thats wonderful news' face on 🙈 ttc makes me feel like a horrible bitch 😂😂

Theawkwardblonde · 22/09/2020 20:06

@Missgoldilocks it's mental what they class as overweight! By nhs standards I need another 2-3 stone off! I'd be wasting away!
You're not out till AF shows so fingers crossed it goes your way.

Hello @CurbsideProphet and @LS2020 .

Only thing we can do is remain optimistic!!! I'm having a bit of a mare if I'm honest. Period was due Sunday, had my usual brown spotting and some red bleeding Sunday so thought it had fully started-hence this thread!
Hasn't materialised into anything more and has stopped but I've still got cramps and sore boobs, along with ridiculously high closed cervix. Bit the bullet and tested today bfn (13DPO today).
So to add to my stresses over impending blood test and husbands SA, I'm now wondering where the hell my usual heavy 6 day period is, and if this means I'm drying up 😞FFS!!!

OP posts:
LS2020 · 22/09/2020 15:50

@lucyrp yeah it is so difficult and I feel like everyone atm is getting pregnant at a drop of a hat, no one seems to be struggling any more 😩 it’s a weird one, I hope it’s good news for you but then I had the frustration that nothing was wrong so why isn’t it happening!!

@CurbsideProphet oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m dreading May which would have been mine so much already so can’t imagine how you’re feeling. I hope your bloods go ok too this week x

CurbsideProphet · 22/09/2020 13:12

I'm sorry there are so many of us.
I would have been due next week if my chemical pregnancy had been successful. Difficult to stay optimistic when I'm still ttc.

lucyrp · 22/09/2020 09:55

@LS2020 yeah the person I covered struggled to get pregnant and had to go through ivf but still felt sad 🤣🙈 two of mine were my line managers and one is a friend who works with me in the same position so yeah. It is tough. I've got my bloods in a week then have to wait a week for the results then speak to the doctor for my referral x

LS2020 · 22/09/2020 09:52

@lucyrp I’m on mat leave cover for someone in my team but she got pregnant before we started so I’ll allow it, plus she struggled with her first but yeah is so tough as both my line managers are due soon and they’ve both conceived in the time I wanted to.
Hope your tests go ok, I’ve been pleased with how quick mines progressed x
