Doctors appointment for infertility

I initially booked an appointment in March as we had been trying for a baby for 18 months with no luck. My appointment got cancelled due to Covid and it’s now been 2 years we have been trying for. I feel stupid ringing to rebook my appointment as I’m sure they are only taking ‘essentials’ but I don’t know how much longer I can wait Sad it’s affecting my mental healthy, my job, my relationship Sad

I haven’t had a referral, I booked my initial appointment to speak to my doctor which got cancelled. I think I haven’t rang to ask because I’m so nervous and I have been putting it off so much. I heard my doctors is only taking essential appointment which is why I haven’t bothered. Thanks everyone, I’ll just have to give them a call next week xxx

Phone them! You’ve had your referral and an appointment cancelled so you’re entitled to be seen. I had 2 phone consultations over lockdown and then a letrozole prescription and 2 scans over the last few weeks so things are moving again! (In south London at least... not sure about other areas of the country) But it’s important and it’s your life so do what you can! Good luck xx

@Thefaceofboe I went to my doctor after 6 months, last month. I'm 34 but wanted to get the basics like bloods done now before a second spike. I absolutely don't think you should hold off or feel like you should leave them to deal with only essentials. I got my blood appointment and results really quickly. I think many people aren't going and my doctor has a specific phlebologist who's there to take blood. I paid privately for a scan because I'm going to be working in Germany for 6 months and the NHS appointment was after I'd be in Germany. It turns out I have a fibroid taking up 1/3 of my womb. I'm hoping that's a fairly easy fix, so it's absolutely worth finding out as you might have something like a thyroid problem, a vitamin issue etc which are a quick fix. Good luck

Why haven't you even called and asked OP?

Fertility services have been open for months now.

We've had private tests. I hope this moves things on.
