I am planning on TTC after christmas, but Im thinking if i stopped the pill now it would be higly unlikely I would get pregnant in the next two months is it? (am getting married Dec 22nd and dont want to be PG then)

Do you think its safe to stop now?

(can't use condoms btw as we both react badly to them)
So it would be all or nothing so to speak.

When did you get your bfp after coming off, what were your signs x

To those who got pregnant right away xx

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 21/10/2007 19:22

It took us a year but we used protection for the first three months because a doctor advised letting my body get back to normal. And then there were a couple of months before I discovered charting (and realised I had v long cycles) so then it was about five of 'my' months = about 7 calendar months before we got pg.
I would recommend starting charting as soon as you stop the pill so you get to know your natural cycle asap.

MyTwopenceworth · 10/10/2007 20:36

I hadn't bloody stopped taking it!!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 10/10/2007 20:34

Almost immediately but later had a missed miscarriage.

But..... Ds1 was then conceived straight after that!

McDreamy · 10/10/2007 20:33

straight away

cheritongirl · 10/10/2007 20:32

i conceived almost immediately, much to my surprise!

lucykate · 09/10/2007 21:55

took me 6 months to conceive after the pill

Feenie · 09/10/2007 21:50

2 months - had a cycle of 35 days and another of 17 days then.....! Had no idea we were so fertile.

nomoremagnolia · 09/10/2007 21:39

22 months and counting...
Having said that if 'taking a chance' is not realistic I wouldn't risk it. An extra couple of months will not make that much difference in the long run and you want to be able to have a glass of champagne at your own wedding as well as not having to worry about puking on the vicar (congrats on the wedding BTW )

rozzyraspberry · 09/10/2007 19:29

If you don't want to feel ill at your wedding I would stay on the pill for the time being. Like others have said you can be pretty fertile when you first come off.

DS1 and DS2 got pregnant 2nd month after coming off pill, pregnant again after falling pregnant first month after stopping pill.

IdrisTheDragon · 09/10/2007 17:09

Had been on the pill for 11 years beforehand .

DD was a "happy mistake" - I think DH and I are rather fertile .

shoesarefab · 08/10/2007 22:01

Wow, 6 weeks. thats quick. lol. had you been on the pill for 12yrs beforehand though!! Does it make a difference?

My other half is using it as an excuse to do the deed twice a day, i was sure i'd be pregnant by now.....

IdrisTheDragon · 08/10/2007 21:57

Stopped taking the pill and 6 weeks later, DS was conceived .

Frizombie · 08/10/2007 21:56

3 mths

shoesarefab · 08/10/2007 21:55

I stopped taking my pill about mid august. i'm woried about how long it will take me to get preggers though as i have been on the pill for 12 years without a break.

i'm a few months off 29 so i'm also concerned about the fact that i'm getting older. Also I have always thought that I would have trouble getting pregnant and it might not happen for me. I dont know why.

Any ideas to speed the process up/cheery stories about getting pregnant straight away?!

Thanks

yes, but bear in mind with your 3rd, you could be bursting at the seams a lot quicker
