@MintGreenLife no worries, it's all so confusing! I also find myself have total brain farts and forgetting super obvious stuff once confronted with a slightly different situation... TTC makes us crazy!

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 23:25

@Juno231 thanks so much, that's really helpful! I just didn't know whether to go from yesterday's OPK or today's for the 12-36 hour thing, and then my cervix going back to medium this afternoon confused me, everything makes more sense after your explanation ☺️

Juno231 · 03/10/2020 23:17

@MintGreenLife sorry if I'm repeating what others have said but:

  • ovulation occurs after 12-36 of the first peak - even if your peak lasts for a couple of days
  • my temps show same day, next day and 2 day later ovulation regardless of how quickly my LH surge goes down so I don't think it makes a difference how long it lasts xx

Sounds like you need to test @lovebug06 ideally with FMU... do you have a test?

Sarahp2308 · 03/10/2020 21:54

Hi @Lovebug06 have you tested just incase? I’m not sure but it could be implantation bleeding? Might be best to test and check then if not you rule it out and move on too the next cycle

Lovebug06 · 03/10/2020 21:23

Good luck to you all this month too ❤️

Lovebug06 · 03/10/2020 21:22

Hi everyone. I went quiet for a few days but I'm back and feeling good for the month ahead.
Thankyou for being so lovely to me the other day. I was an emotional wreck at AF arriving just as someone else had their baby! But I'm fine now.
Having a strange week. Period for a couple of days, ended Wednesday early and that was only the tiniest bit too. Tonight I've got a pink smear in my knickers and on the tissue. It's saturday night. Never usually have that. Been feeling odd down there, not pain or cramps. Just a kind of feeling as if I'm going to cramp, so hard to explain. The oddest of all, I've totally gone off breakfast. I eat the same every morning, this week I can't face it, it actually makes me feel sick! Now I know I sound like I'm symptom spotting but I'm really not, AF came for 2 and a bit days. And then it's a new month so it's fine, I'm really having an odd week 🤣. I'm thinking maybe this is the pill coming out more and sorting it's self out somehow, I don't know 😂 it's cycle 9 and I've been really lucky to have regular periods since so it's odd! Anyone had any of this? X

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 20:54

@Kay00 @Sarahp2308 @Flowerkm haha I will try my best ☺️ I've just checked my cervix again and it's still medium and hard, so hoping I may have ovulated this afternoon 🤞🏼

Flowerkm · 03/10/2020 20:53

@MintGreenLife Ooh thats good news! Deffo try and get him to DTD tonight! Good luck 🤞🏻

@Kay00 Like the idea of the chocolate treat!

Sarahp2308 · 03/10/2020 20:48

@MintGreenLife Yes that is what I’m thinking of maybe it was there I saw it! Good Luck!! If he’s anything like my OH he won’t need much convincing 😂😂

Kay00 · 03/10/2020 20:46

@MintGreenLife good luck! Perhaps a sweet chocolatey treat to give him a boost of energy will help?

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 20:42

@Sarahp2308 I was reading something on the Premom site about different surge patterns, one of which is like mine where it goes up, back down and then back up again...it wasn't very helpful though 😂 You're probably right! Will see if I can get DH to agree 😂 X

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 20:41

@Kay00 thanks for replying ☺️ I know I find the cervix position thing so confusing, like is it just the day of ovulation, or is it in the lead up?! No idea! I did find a source that said the cervix can go low and hard again within minutes of ovulation but also in some women it can take up to a few days...not very helpful 😂 I'll see if I can interest him in a quickie before bed...I'm not sure he'll be up for it, but might be worth a shot?! X

Sarahp2308 · 03/10/2020 20:39

@MintGreenLife I have read something about 2 surges online, I can’t for the life of me remember where...I would push yourself to DTD you don’t want to look back and think you may have missed it! Good luck

Kay00 · 03/10/2020 20:33

Hmm... I think you will likely Ovulate tonight or tomorrow, so if you can DTD tonight or tomorrow morning then perhaps push yourself to? Did you DTD yesterday? I'm trying to find more information about when you cervix should be high and soft... before or during Ovulation? But there is very little information online. I remember last month I had a very high and soft cervix on CD17 and FF put my Ov day as CD18 (the day my temp started to rise)

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 19:52

Sorry said a positive at 4pm, but was actually 2.30pm x

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 19:51

Wondering if someone might be able to give me their insight/advice...

Hopefully the image has attached this time! I've carried on doing OPKs throughout the day today and got a stronger positive than yesterday at 12pm, another positive at 4pm and then another positive just now - last one is showing slightly lower on my app. Charts I've looked at that have two days of positive OPKs seem to end up ovulating the same day as the second day with a positive OPK. This afternoon I've felt super exhausted after feeling so energetic yesterday, so wondering if that's a sign I may have ovulated this afternoon/early evening?! My cervix was really high when I checked at 12pm, but then when I checked again at 4pm it was back to medium. What I'm trying to work out if it's worth trying to coax DH into DTD again tonight, while I'm also tired, or if the window may have already passed?! Having never had a surge like this I'm not sure what to expect?! Would it be usual for OPKs to stay positive but past the peak if ovulation has already occurred, or am I more likely to ovulate tomorrow. Any ideas?! X

@MintGreenLife thanks! Will do. Glad you’ve had some positive progress this weekend ☺️It really is a rollercoaster!!

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 16:30

@Cams50 I go through phases of feeling really low about it all too, but then like you say being proactive helps, and then sometimes my body will suddenly start doing something (like this weekend) and you feel ok about it all again. It's such a rollercoaster 😂 Let me know how you get on with your BBT! X

Cams50 · 03/10/2020 16:27

@MintGreenLife thanks. I might download that too. I was feeling so fed up with all of this earlier but I’m feeling so much better now. It’s great to feel proactive- getting the thermometer, new apps etc - and actually feel like I’m doing something more to progress things! Yeah it’s so nice to be married. ☺️ X

MintGreenLife · 03/10/2020 16:17

@Cams50 yep I use Fertility Friend, and then I use Premom to upload my OPKs, and if I get a positive just mark it as positive inn FF - that's literally just happened today/yesterday for the first time since I started using FF several months ago!

Ah I know, I didn't really mind sharing that we were thinking about TTC, although now it's taking longer than expected I often wonder if they are wondering why we don't have an update yet 😆 Glad you found your day relaxing! It's just nice to be married isn't it, after feeling like it probably wasn't going to happen. I'm feeling fairly sketchy about next year like you said, so would be silly to put of TTC as who know's what will happen! X

Cams50 · 03/10/2020 16:13

@PumpkinEverything oh thank you! I might try those then. Just ordered a BBT thermometer so want to keep track of that.

AnonymousXXIX · 03/10/2020 16:12

I use Clue + PreMom but neither of them predict at all accurately when I ovulate. I really just use it to track dtd & symptoms like cm, cramps & acne.

PumpkinEverything · 03/10/2020 16:06

@Cams50 I started using flo when I came off the pill back in March and I liked it until a month or two ago when I’ve realised it’s actually not that great at guessing my ovulation date and AF date. I’ve since kept updating it, but also now using ovia (which actually is very detailed when it comes to tracking symptoms, far far more choice) and I’m also using the premom app as that’s what I’m using to scan my OPK. Maybe worth a look at the two to see how you get on. I feel like a crazy person using the 3 right now, but I’m trying to see which one suits me best!

Cams50 · 03/10/2020 15:58

@MintGreenLife you’re totally right! I would’ve been so much more nervous. It was a really relaxing day. Glad you enjoyed yours. We also got to marry on our original day so that was lovely. I think I will start to track BBT. Do you track it on the fertility friend app? I’m using Flo at the moment to track my periods but I don’t think it’s accurate for predicting ovulation at all but I use the OPKS for that. Yeah I completely understand why you told them and how much it affected our decision about the wedding. I don’t know why there is a taboo around telling people. People might be more understanding if they actually knew!
