Cactus 😂😂 Castus I meant

Flowerkm · 21/09/2020 19:33

@MintGreenLife I follow her as well. I haven't looked to much into Agnus Cactus but i do see it coming up a lot so it would probably be worth a shot ☺️ xx

MintGreenLife · 21/09/2020 19:04

I think I might give in and try Agnus Castus...what does everyone think?

I follow Dr Jolene Brighten on social media and she seems to recommend it for pretty much every cycle issue: drbrighten.com/vitex-chaste-tree-benefits/

@Kay00 I bought my FRERs on amazon on a deal like @Juno231 - 2 for £7.

@juno231 that is so frustrating from the GP. The NHS can be highly inefficient (I'm an NHS clinician, I love the NHS but it is not above criticism and can be clunky). Glad hes happy to look into it. What cycle is this for you?

Juno231 · 21/09/2020 16:36

@kay00 ha yes I've seen plenty of people make that mistake before! Tbh I buy my FRERs on amazon as there are quite often deals - I've been getting them 2 for £8 lately.

Yup OH has organised to do an SA but our GP is being slow about it and not sent the form through for it even though they said they'd post it last Monday...

Kay00 · 21/09/2020 16:17

@MintGreenLife, ah yes, I think that's why I chose this one now, it was the extra B6 - I'm taking ridiculous amounts of it (but within safe limits) Grin

@Juno231 Its good to know you're ovulating Smile, is your OH interested to explore his side of things?

I was at the pharmacy about an hour ago and I realised that what I had previously tested with was a FRRR, not a FRER!! I had no idea their was a difference, haha! So I bought the FRER, and will it to test next time. Im tempted to do tomorrow morning (15DPO) but don't want to get my hopes up... or dash them!

Juno231 · 21/09/2020 16:05

@kay00 that's interesting - I've heard the opposite lol! Oh well as long as it's working for us. Although tbf I have luckily not had any problems with ovulation post pill, my body just sucks at the BFP part lol.

The longer it goes though the more interested I am to see if the problem lies with OH!

MintGreenLife · 21/09/2020 16:04

@Kay00 only thing I noticed is your one has a lot more B6, and I think that's the main B vitamin for fertility. May add in some extra B6. How many cycles did you have off the pill with the long follicular phase/short luteal phase? x

Kay00 · 21/09/2020 15:52

@MintGreenLife they look good, my one includes the Vit C (which I read somewhere) might cause the uterus to become too acidic for implantation... so I might change to just a B Complex for my next cycle.

@Juno231 Apparently the B-Complex can delay ovulation. So I take a break to allow ovulation (and actually encourage it to happen) then take the B-Complex again - i was surprised at how well that worked. Of course, my body might have done that anyway, so its hard to tell, but I was having really long Follicular phases' and very short LP.

Juno231 · 21/09/2020 14:56

@kay00 any reason you stop/start taking the vit b? I just take it daily throughout the whole cycle so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

MintGreenLife · 21/09/2020 14:50

@Kay00 these are the ones I have: www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-complete-b-vitamin-b-complex-caplets-60001250

I bought them a few months ago to try and help my cycle. I started taking them along with a really high dose vitamin C and one (or both!) caused me bladder irritation. Felt like I was getting a UTI, so I stopped both. Hopefully it was the vitamin c causing the bladder irritation. I will try taking up until CD18 maybe, so for a week, then will stop and see if ovulation happens. Am going to re-do the homeopathic 'pill detox' that I did also. Just to ovulate this cycle would be a win after it seems I didn't last cycle.

Elsie2021 · 21/09/2020 14:48

@TheDaydreamBelievers
Massive congratulations!!! Sooo happy for you 💐💐💐

MintGreenLife · 21/09/2020 14:32

@Kay00 no EWCM or anything at the mo, only time I've managed to tell that I've ovulated didn't happen until CD30+ 😂 So I would probably be Ok to try taking them for a few days now! I'll dig out the bottle shortly and have a look, fingers crossed it helps 🤞🏼

You're still testing quite early so don't count yourself out yet ☺️

Kay00 · 21/09/2020 14:25

@MintGreenLife If you don't think Ov is just around the corner then you could try taking them for a few days then stop, so see if it kick starts anything. Either way i think you can take them after Ov to lengthen your LP.

I took a Frer at 9 or 10DPO, which was negative, but I think I might have implantation bleeding after then (11/12DPO)... so I took an internet cheapy today, and that was negative too. I will leave it a few more days and if no AF, then i'll do another Frer with FMU.

MintGreenLife · 21/09/2020 14:05

Thanks @Kay00 ☺️ I'll dig mine out later and compare to yours! I'm CD12 now after my surprise AF while we were away, do you think it's too late to start taking them to try to bring on ovulation? To be honest I never thought to take B vits for ovulation as I thought they just helped with a luteal phase defect. Your LP could last up to 16 days - I believe mine was 16 days on the one cycle I seemed to ovulate successfully! Have you taken a test yet? Xx

Kay00 · 21/09/2020 13:50

@MintGreenLife Hi. So I take these from H&B. They taste horrible and are huge haha... so good luck!

I took these CD 1-10 and then took a break to allow ovulation (amazingly it brought my ovulation forward by 10 days), I Ov on CD17

I have then taken them every day from CD18 onwards... currently on CD32 (14DPO) and no AF yet. My previous cycles had LP of 10 then 8 days.

I really feel like I have been in control this cycle, although i'm wondering where my AF is?!

@Kay00 do you know what vitamin B complex you've been taking? I have some from Holland & Barrett so may try those this cycle! X

Juno231 · 21/09/2020 12:06

@TheDaydreamBelievers last menstrual period

Sarahp2308 · 21/09/2020 12:03

@GlassLily yeah there was quite a dramatic drop, I do wear it every night, I’ve had a fitbit for years so I am used to wearing it over night but i haven’t really taken any notice or the RHR until now

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/09/2020 11:57

Sorry, @Juno231 what is LMP>?

OP posts:
Juno231 · 21/09/2020 11:52

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'd do it now just to be on the safe side - some trusts are busier than others so best not to leave it late for the sake of it.

They'll just note LMP regardless and won't update records until you've had a dating scan I don't think. Definitely say your cycles are irregular and long though, just in case.

Kay00 · 21/09/2020 11:48

Haha good point! They may go by your ovulation date then? Perhaps they will want to see you for a earlier scan to determine the due date?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/09/2020 11:33

@kay00 the issue is the first day of my last period was aages ago and likely not correct in dating? I guess I can just tell them all about this

OP posts:
Kay00 · 21/09/2020 11:22

@TheDaydreamBelievers your lines are pretty strong, so I suppose you could go for it. I assume they will take note of the first day of your last period and then get in touch for your 12 week scan? I have no idea how this part works Grin

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/09/2020 11:19

Phew @MintGreenLife @Kay00! Sounds like it was okay to take them throughout.

If you were me, when do you think you guys would register the pregnancy with the nhs? Almost feels like tempting fate and too early?
