Wow, that is such a difference to the UK, I had heard it is much better in Sweden @Juno231 I’m not sure where in the UK you are based now but where I am nursery fees are around £800-£1000 a month, tax free childcare is helpful but it doesn’t go anywhere near far enough, it’s such a shame that costs make you wonder if you can even afford a child!

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 22:07

@Juno231 thanks so much, you're all so lovely, and it's so nice having people to chat to that understand. Thanks, I'll look into that ☺️ I'll ask what's being tested on Wednesday and see if I think it might be helpful to get some additional tests done privately. I've been looking online this eve to try and see what long drawn out eposiodes of EWCM means and seems to point to PCOS. As you know I had EWCM for two weeks on end last cycle. A book a read did sugguests you can get post-pill PCOS and that it's temporary, so at least if it does look like I have PCOS it might not be forever. How are you getting on? X

Juno231 · 27/09/2020 22:06

@Sarahp2308 yeah nursery costs like £200 at home, schools are free and so are universities. Makes a big difference to the wallet!

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 22:03

@Juno231 I agree, unfortunately cost is something that makes me think we should only have 1, maternity pay is shocking (I get a decent package with work) but there will still be a gap to plug, and the cost of childcare well that’s a different story altogether

Juno231 · 27/09/2020 22:00

@Sarahp2308 ideally I'd like three but it's so bloody expensive having kids in this country lol. Makes me wish I'd stayed in Sweden, would definitely have had three then if I could! Now I'm thinking 2 might be more realistic.

@MintGreenLife you have every right to fell how you feel! We're right here for you to vent. 6 months of crazy cycles is enough to mess with anyone's head, especially if the docs aren't even listening to you. Would taking a private test be an idea? Like I've done an AMH test on letsgetchecked before.

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 21:21

@Sarahp2308 it makes me feel better when I hear success stories with mixed up cycles post pill. I guess it's just pot luck which way you go afterwards.

@Lovebug06 I was alright up until this week really. It frustrated me before but I said my cut off to contact the GP would be when we got back from our honeymoon, so I guess I just feel a bit blue that I've reached that point now without things getting any better at all.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down too. It sounds like you've dealt with the arrival of your relative's baby really well. I was talking to my mum this morn about everything and she suggested maybe I leave charting my BBT and using OPKs for a while. I'm not sure as I find it helps me knowing what's going on, and maybe I would need my charts as evidence if we do end up a year TTC and need some further investigation. Think maybe I'll carry on this cycle and reassess. If it's super stressing me out I'll stop. Only problem is it can be endless disappointment for me as think in the 5 months of charting etc I've only had one clear chart to show I've ovulated and one positive OPK 🤦🏻‍♀️ X

Lovebug06 · 27/09/2020 19:58

@MrsBtobe2020 yes I have that, hasn't done anything sadly, apart from end up bleaching my towels Grin
@MintGreenLife yep just gotta ride it out. Mostly I feel like that then other times it just suddenly makes me feel like crap!

AF due today, usually starts first thing but didn't. I can feel it coming now. This month I stopped tracking and chilled out, it was better for me and DH. They say when you chill out it seems to happen so decided to try and see. I've felt a lot better this month, I thought I'd find it stressful but I haven't, didn't look at apps at all until this weekend. My relative had a baby today, I had kind of dreaded it (feel awful saying so, but I did, they conceived very quickly) but I genuinely felt so happy for them today. And I guess excited for myself for that to be me, but now I know AF is coming, even though I knew it would, and I feel so down tonight. Onto cycle 9 it is. Good luck ladies. X

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 19:33

@MintGreenLife you’re doing the right thing getting test and starting the angus castus, it’s so easy to bury your head in the sand, I’m sure all will be ok but it’s best to find out for sure! My friend toke 12 months to concieve post pill, cycles were all over the place etc but she got there in the end!

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 19:27

@AMS19 thanks ☺️ I think that's possibly what's getting me down really, the fact that I've got to a point that I need to go for tests to figure out what's going on.

@Flowerkm @Sarahp2308 thanks both ☺️ Hopefully I'll perk up next week 😂 Think I'll feel better when I can start taking Agnus Castus properly after my blood test as will feel like I'm being proactive then x

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 19:07

@Flowerkm yeah that is true, you never know really!! OH comes from a big family where as I am an only child, so we’ve both got different opinions on it! Suppose we’ll see how we got one with number 1 and then decide 🤣🤣

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 19:05

@MintGreenLife I agree with @AMS19 perfect place to vent and sometimes you’ve just gotta vent!! We all have our ups and downs and I think post pill is easier for some than others

Flowerkm · 27/09/2020 19:03

@Sarahp2308 @MintGreenLife Glad Im not alone there!
Haha, Im going with this plan now, Im sure he'll get the hint...
My OH has said 1 and Id be happy with 1 I think, i know people say that and then have 2 so we shall see.

@MintGreenLife Like @AMS19 has said its the perfect place to vent, there is always someone who understands here :)

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 18:39

@MintGreenLife ah good luck with the tests!! So good to just put your mind at ease with everything knowing it is all being looked at. And dont worry about others, if this place has taught me anything is we are all so bloody different you could drive yourself made trying to compare! It is the perfect place to vent!!

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 18:17

Thanks @Flowerkm feel like all I'm doing at the mo is whining 🙄 I think that's probably not a bad plan. I swear most men really like it when we initiate it anyway, so maybe it's better not to tell him where you're at in your cycle and you can still plan, he just doesn't need to know your plan 😂 Xx

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 18:08

Exactly @Flowerkm & my OH is the same, he doesn’t get how short the window actually is & I think men just think you have unprotected sex and that’s it the woman gets pregnant! I get the whole too much pressure thing so I don’t even bother telling him I just track it myself in the background then make him think he just must be looking really sexy for the those few days 🤣 we’ve spoken about it before and we’re both on the same page, except he wants atleast 2 children where as I’m quite happy with 1, how many does everyone want?

Flowerkm · 27/09/2020 17:53

@Sarahp2308 @AMS19 Exactly, how long do we wait? Just go for it also it will be some lovely news during a very tough time.

@MintGreenLife Nooo!! Don't be silly..you're fine. Say what you want here, it's good i think to share it all so others going through the same know they're not alone and also its good to chat about it Thanks

Haha! Im thinking to plan some sexy time over the crucial days but not tell him and then he won't say no 😂

@Juno231 Yep, he is finally aware but he is just so relaxed 🙄 Im going to plan some sexy time in my 'cycle tracking diary' i think and try and keep the chat low key for him so he doesn't get all pressured. God, men sometimes 😂

Juno231 · 27/09/2020 17:15

@Flowerkm I'd be really annoyed too! Does he get how short the fertile window is? Maybe he just thinks you'd be totally fine even if he wasn't in the mood? Men 🙄.

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 16:47

@MrsBtobe2020 I've not heard of that before. To be honest I'm not massively worried about what it looks like, more about what it means in regards to what's going on underneath! I'll probably be coming back to you to ask what it is that you sugguested a few weeks down the line when it gets even worse though 😂

MintGreenLife · 27/09/2020 16:45

@Lovebug06 I guess it's just one of those things that you have to ride out and wait for it to pass 😔 Weird how mine has only properly set in 6 months after stopping!

@Flowerkm it's weird I'm not worrying too much, I'm just feeling a bit low about it all. I feel like I'm on such a downer the last few days, hope I'm not making you all feel rubbish with my moaning 🤦🏻‍♀️

Awh I feel like they totally just don't get it. Maybe it would be easier not to try and plan in, and then he doesn't have to worry in advance about not being in the mood. I'm fairly certain you'd be able to convince him to go for it a couple of days in a row at the time and that way he's none the wiser that it's a planned DTD sesh, and he hopefully won't feel under any pressure or anything.

Thanks @AMS19 ☺️ Really hope I'm not making anyone worry that's fairly new off the pill! I'm having bloods done on Wednesday and waiting for a referral for a scan. I don't really know what the bloods are for tbh as I asked about having them done on a specific cycle day which is necessary for testing hormones and the GP said that wasn't necessary at this stage. Guess I'll find out on Wednesday! X

Sarahp2308 · 27/09/2020 16:36

I agree @Flowerkm covid is making it all abit nerve wrecking, but we can’t put our lifes on hold, hopefully by spring things will have settled down, I don’t really want to leave it much later either, I’m 30 next August so Ideally before then.

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 16:17

@Flowerkm 100% right. Covid has done the opposite for me, given i can't do anything I wanted to ive brought forward TTC. Totally right to just go for it xx

Flowerkm · 27/09/2020 15:51

@AMS19 Very early days Grin yep, our first. So exciting, but also nerve wracking with covid but can't put our lives on hold as this could go on for years xx

AMS19 · 27/09/2020 15:38

@Flowerkm super early days for you then! Isnt it funny how impatient you get with it. I havent even started yet. Is this your first? So exciting!!

@MintGreenLife I'm so sorry you are feeling down. I know I'm still new to it all but I totally get how frustrating and disheartening it must be. I know so many people in the same boat and it is super tough! Have you had any tests? Sending lots of positive vibes your way ♥️

MrsBtobe2020 · 27/09/2020 15:00

@Lovebug06 @MintGreenLife I went on the pill initially as a teenager as I had horrible painful spots generally between my eyes and round my nose where the pores are larger but also needed it for contraceptive purposes. I also got put on acne medication which worked an absolute treat. (I used that for about 6 months but then the pill really did help after that) Even now I use acnecide gel twice a day to keep them under control. I now only get a few blackheads on my chin that turn into uglier ones occasionally. Have you tried acnecide?

Flowerkm · 27/09/2020 14:57

@MintGreenLife :( rubbish isn't it? You always expect a few months of up and downs but 6 months you must be feeling fed up. I really hope it improves for you soon. Im ok thank you, AF is on her way out, 4 days so far and the last 2 have been pretty light tbh, hopefully by tomorrow/Tuesday Ill be off :)

I tried mentioning to my OH about not tracking on OPKs but instead DTD every other day and then daily during days 13-16 and he just says 'well what if Im not in the mood? If it happens it happens' and thats really annoyed me!! He does want a baby but is sooo much more chilled than me, i want to try hard each month but trying to calm myself for his sake as i don't want the pressure of it but it doesn't just happen that easy. Maybe Im just in a bad mood lol! Xx
