@CharWils yeah I think so, although maybe your pee was are diluted this time? I think that's helpful in a way as you know your peak was today, so should ovulate later today or tomorrow :)

MintGreenLife · 02/10/2020 10:49

Welcome @PumpkinEverything glad to see you've joined in and found the thread helpful so far :) this is our second one, and looks like we won't be far off needing to set up a third thread as we are at almost 800 messages already!

@CharWils what app do you use to record your chart? Your app should add your crosshairs/coverline once you've had three higher temps. Like other's have said above, as you've got your peak today you should ovulate in the next 12-24 hours, I think sometimes the guidelines are 12-36 hours though, so any time between today and the next day or so. Exciting!

I'm CD23 now, FF has left my crosshairs in on CD16 for ovulation, but I'm still getting EWCM...just like last cycle urgh. My OPKs aren't really getting any darker. I had sharp twinges in my lower left side at 8pm last night, so I thought I may have ovulated, but my temp only went up a tiny bit and more EWCM this morn. Wish I knew what all my EWCM means!

@Juno231 how does it feel to be moved out? Have you had to move out your place because of renting it out? Guessing your purchase hasn't gone through quite yet then? If so hope it doesn't take too much longer! x

CharWils · 02/10/2020 10:48

I have just tested again now and it's gone back down again Hmm

Can that happen within the space of a hour?

@Trying4one I’m trying not to symptom spot, it is hard though! I’m really trying to put it to the back of my mind for now because sometimes I think I imagine symptoms 🤣

CharWils · 02/10/2020 10:36

@Kay00 @Juno231

Thanks both, it only went up by .20 odd today but it could mean that it will go up more tomorrow?

Where I haven't seen a peak yet apart from today it's all very new!

How would I know which day to mark on my chart as ovulation day today or tomorrow? Is there a key thing that will tell?

Juno231 · 02/10/2020 10:19

@CharWils how much did your temp go up by? You don't have to have a dip for ovulation, I've seen plenty of charts where OD was on an upward curve - so long as there's a bigger rise the following day.

Kay00 · 02/10/2020 10:12

@CharWils Looks like you bare having your peak today - I imagine if you keep testing today then your OPKS will get darker throughout the day. So you will likely ovulate tonight or tomorrow. Get DTD if you can!!

Kay00 · 02/10/2020 10:09

@Juno231 I think you are right... its the B-Vitamins that extend the cycle. I was having a really long follicular phase followed by a short luteal phase. The B Vits can extend everything (Including ovulation) so I stop taking them CD10+ until I ovulate (and this helped bring ovulation forward) then take them again from day fater ovulation to extend luteal phase - and it worked.

@PumpkinEverything I would advise getting Vit B6 100mg + Vit B12 500ug but maybe try to get a B-complex without the Vit-C. It seems to have a lot of Vit C (which dyes my week a luminous orange - haha!) but I don't need any extra Vit C as I eat lots of fruit and I read somewhere that too much Vit C can make your uterus too acidic for implantation. So I have bought a different B-Complex for the TWW that excludes Vit C. Complicated I know... but they do seem to be very successful in extending my LP!

Trying4one · 02/10/2020 10:04

@Juno231 I think it mainly those with short cycles though I have seen a few wen complain that their 30 day cycle was extended to over 40 and that was enough to scare me 😂 of course plenty of women have no issues at all with them.
Oh no so you don't know when AF is due?
@Sarahp2308 not a lot going on here eithere. Felt a few twinges yesterday and had a metallic taste earlier on this week but just ignoring them as I know if is too early for pregnancy symptoms. Don't want to get my hopes up. I plan on testing on 11/12dpo and if nothing then I will wait to see if AF shows up on 14dpo (cd28)

Hello again ladies,
I posted on here the other day and @MintGreenLife kindly gave me some feedback when I was getting confused about ovulation days.
This is today, first time I have seen a peak but my temp has gone up slightly today and dropped yest - shouldn't I of been expecting it to go down today? Does this mean that ovulation day is today or tomorrow? Tried googling but getting confused when it says you will get a peak a certain amount of time before actual ovulation?
Any decoding and advice on DTD timing (we did yesterday) will be much appreciated?
Also I promise to try and keep up on here more with everyone else's stuff as aware I have only asked questions so far! Confused x

Juno231 · 02/10/2020 09:50

Hi girls! My two cents is that I think it's the vit Bs in the multi vits that tend to extend cycles. But I keep getting the impression that it's extending the LP to ladies who tend to have quite short ones, so maybe not a bad thing overall?

I'm 14DPO and no AF yet but my temp dropped to the coverline today. My LP was 11 days last cycle so it's a bit frustrating that it keeps changing month on month - FF always tells me off for having an irregular LP!

Sarahp2308 · 02/10/2020 09:46

@PumpkinEverything I know I wish they would make people aware of the potential problems of taking the pill instead of just making the main focus of preventing pregnancy! Sounds good about getting the peak, there is still time though!

@Trying4one also in the TWW over here 7DPO not lot going to be honest, a few AF type cramps yesterday but nothing other than that, going to try hold off on testing until AF is due.

We haven’t managed to get away at all this year & probably won’t for a while with COVID and being in a local lockdown!

Trying4one · 02/10/2020 09:22

@PumpkinEverything I take vitabiotics folic acid and nutribioticals vitamin d3 (both bought from Amazon after checking reviews). I think it works out cheaper buying them individually as well as the price goes up if you mention it is pregnancy related 🙄
I am working in the week but thinking of doing cross stitch again at the weekend to give me something to do in this terrible weather 😂

PumpkinEverything · 02/10/2020 09:21

@Kay00 I took a screenshot of your vitamins last night haha. So I can give them a try if needs be. Do you start taking them again immediately after you ovulate, or when will you restart again?
So frustrating with the lockdown! We managed a sneaky trip to sorrento a month ago that I booked very last minute. I was so thankful for a break and some sun! We’re due to go to Donegal from NI in two weeks time for our first wedding anniversary and they’re currently in a local lockdown so I feel your pain of waiting!

Trying4one · 02/10/2020 09:17

@Kay00 fingers crossed for you 🤞 I had a week away in Snowdonia a few weeks ago. It was a nice break away but I am seriously missing a holiday by a pool in a hot country.
I have no idea where this year has gone and I feel like I have barely done or achieved anything 🤷 here we are approaching Christmas again (which due to COVID will also be uneventful)

PumpkinEverything · 02/10/2020 09:17

@Trying4one ah! It’s so frustrating. I’m vegetarian so I’ve always taken a multivitamin anyway, but they mentioned on the label not to take whilst pregnant so I thought I would swap to something more suitable. What are you taking at the moment?
Baby dust to you for this month! I’m going to need to find something to distract myself during the wait otherwise I’ll be too tempted to test

Kay00 · 02/10/2020 09:11

*they lift the lockdown.

Kay00 · 02/10/2020 09:11

@Trying4one - hold in there, exciting that your in your TWW though!!

We were very lucky as we managed to go on holiday to New York in February, just before Coronavirus got really bad. I was planning a year on fun holidays (with the intention of TTC towards the end of this year). Now i'm just praying the list the lockdown in Swansea so I can go on holiday in the Gower later this month...

Kay00 · 02/10/2020 09:08

@PumpkinEverything woohoo! Congrats on your ovulation. you still have time to get DTD... you will likely ovulate today or tomorrow Grin.

I'm on CD11 and all pretty quiet on my front... I have stopped taking my B-Complex in the hope that I will ovulate within the next week. It worked last month, so fingers crossed!

Trying4one · 02/10/2020 09:05

@PumpkinEverything I don't want to ruin anything but I have heard about seven seas prolonging cycles. I came off it after a few weeks after reading the this. Of course it doesn't happen to everyone. I have read you are better off taking the tablets separately, so I take folic acid and vitamin separately. I notice a lot of prenatal vitamins have iron in so wonder if it is that that plays havoc with the cycles, though don't quote me on that 🤣
I have been with my husband nearly 11 years, 3 of them married. We decided to go on one last big holiday (before kids) to Thailand in October 2019 and then wait 6 month's after due to Zika. We had booked a holiday in Europe this year to be Zika safe (which of course didn't happen). I think we put the kids of death of additional holidays before kids by saying one last big holiday 🙈🤣. We only started trying in August due to monitoring the COVID situation. Currently 5dpo and trying to hold off for another week before I take a test

PumpkinEverything · 02/10/2020 08:44

@AMS19 I wish we had started sooner too! We got married last October and decided we would wait until we went on a big holiday to America in May, that then got rescheduled to yesterday, and we obviously still haven’t been able to go, so I wish we’d just decided to try a year ago Grin pregnacare is so confusing! I’m now wondering whether I should stick with it until I finish the pack!

@Sarahp2308 I really wish they gave more info when you start taking it, because there’s a lot more to it than I ever thought. It’s so annoying because I’d have loved these longer cycles a few years ago, and now I hate them!
I don’t temp yet, but think I will from my next cycle so that I know. I done another test after I posted last night and it shot up to 1.7, and then is 1.5 today, so I think I finally got my peak! I also had really sore left cramps when trying to sleep last night so I do feel like I’ve hopefully ovulated. Just wish I’d known this was coming now as we have only done DTD twice during this window as I had given up on ovulating this month!

Sarahp2308 · 02/10/2020 07:09

Hi @PumpkinEverything welcome :) your situation sounds very much like my first few months off the pill, I have been lucky that my cycles have been regular 29-30 days but I think this is the first cycle I actually ovulated. It can take the body a long time to get back into the swing of things post pill, it seems it really messes with women’s bodies and they don’t seem to tell people before they prescribe it.

Once i started getting high readings on the test strips I was testing 3 times a day just because it’s so easy to miss mine came and went within a few hours.

Do you BBT? I think this is the only way to confirm ovulation...I don’t temp just because I don’t think my readings would be very accurate and I can’t commit to it to he honest, but lots of people use it and find it helpful.

Since you have been off the pill since Feb, you could probably start pestering your GP for some tests just to rule everything out and give yourself some peace of mind if you are worried.

I can’t help with the supplements I’m afraid I always buy them with good intention, take them for a few days then forget! I’ve only just recently managed to remember to take folic acid!

AMS19 · 02/10/2020 07:01

@PumpkinEverything welcome! Definitely the right place for you. We are all at different stages. I've only just come off the pill and am waiting for my first proper AF. I'm taking pregnacare as a few friends suggested it helped regulate periods at the start when first coming off the pill, but then intend to stop and switch to just folic acid and vitamin D once I have had one or two periods given others comments around extending cycles. A few people on here have sworn by them in helping so really hard to know isn't it! For me, given I've been on some form of contraception for the last 15 years, and Mercilon pill most recently for the last 7 years, if it potentially helps me get to even a 30-40 day cycle I'll be very happy with that. I'm currently 18 days past with my withdrawal bleed and my BBT chart is all over the place, so don't think I've ovulated yet 🤷‍♀️ we were originally planning to TTC from December but following the further restrictions and fact I'm now not back into the office until at least spring, and given all the Xmas parties are cancelled (mainly that - i had proper FOMO about being pregnant during Dec), we've decided to get on with it as soon as I have my first AF. Which could get us to near December anyway!

PumpkinEverything · 01/10/2020 23:24

Hi everyone! Hoping I can join in here too after signing up yesterday and posting my own post until @MintGreenLife pointed me in this direction. It’s taken me two days to read all 30 pages so I could catch up :) I have laughed lots along the away, and almost cried at one point at how much better I felt reading the posts and not feeling just so alone anymore. I’m going to copy and paste some of my original post to give a bit of background on me!

I was on the pill for around 13 years, and stopped taking it in February. I don’t remember what life was like before the pill and whether I normally had a regular cycle, so this is all very new to me. We have only just decided to start TTC at the start of September, as I wanted a few months to try to get back to normal after stopping. Since I stopped my cycles have been 34, 45, 39, 34 and 40 days long. I started taking pregnacare at the start of August, which is when I then next had my 40 day cycle. (Side note - im vegetarian, so always took a multi vitamin, but the one I was previously taking didn’t recommend using if you were TTC or pregnant, so I don’t know whether stopping this and taking folic Acid alone will be good for me?) I’m now wondering if I shouldn’t have done that as I’ve read horror stories, and it seems like I’m not regular anyway and might be making it worse.
I’ve had a period all these cycles, or what I thought was anyway. One of them I had really bad cramps, but the others have been nothing I felt was overly bad, and they seemed mostly similar to the ones I had when on the pill (yasmin specifically)
Anyway! I’ve been using ovulation strips this month (and using the Flo, Premom and Ovia app to track symptoms) premom told me to start testing since CD14, so I tested once a day at dinner time, until it took me to start doing two a day, so I did once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Since then I’ve never peaked, and never got anything higher than a .53 sad which it has reached 3 times, and then lowered a bit, until now where I’m down to .22 and I’m CD29. It’s predicting AF CD39, so now I’m wondering have I completely missed ovulating, and I’m really scared I’ve just not been ovulating all this time, and still getting AF. I do get a day or two of EWCM each month, and I’ve had it today, Monday and a day last week, which I thought was a good thing. Now I’m not sure...

To follow up on my original post... I decided to swap from pregnacare to seven seas today after ordering it on amazon yesterday, so I took nothing yesterday. I’m CD30 today and have had my second day of EWCM in a row, yesterday my mood was all over the place and I felt down and frustrated. Today I felt a bit better and DTD this afternoon, and since then I’ve noticed I’ve had a few cramps this evening, and 3 new spots have appeared around my mouth and jaw. My head was also slightly sore when I woke up, but went away. Yesterday my OPK was 0.22, and today it has been 0.5 at dinner time, and when I did another one this evening it went up to 0.77, which is the highest I’ve seen it this month. I’m now wondering is my body attempting to ovulate again!? And I don’t know when I should attempt to test again, it’s all a little bit confusing...
p.s sorry for the essay on my first post!
