Hey all
I've been ttc for a long time, I had my lap and dye last week which removed all endo visible and unstuck my left ovary from my tube. My tubes are clear. The horrible bleeding that I had after is coming to an end. I'm very determined to try everything I can this month and the following months if I fail.
I have read about this SMEP and I've heard good things about it.
Today I am CD 5 so I am going to start dtd tonight instead of the recommendation of CD 8. I done an ovulation test today (just for fun) there's a second line but very much not positive so going to keep doing them twice a day until I get my surge. Also have some cb advance ones coming tomorrow.

My question is how many people have used this method and been successful on here? Would love to keep chatting to people through these next 6 months if possible as this is kind of the last hurdle before more fertility tests are taken for both me and my DP xx

@Mich2020 first for me, dp has children. dp had a vasectomy reversal so our chances are reduced but still keeping everything crossed! not had a sniff of a line yet, af always arrives on time so never had to test 😑x

Eek good luck @restingbface
@RobinRose I had my coil out end of 2018 started period again March 2019 so from then we've tried not properly every single month but it's still not happened. We have had a couple months we're there were very faint lines on tests so I think a couple chemicals have been detected but can't be 100%
Are you all trying for your first?? This will be Number 3 for me but my elder two are from previous relationship x

@mich2020 hopefully it hasn't effected things too much! We have been ttc since October 2019 😔 how about you?x

@Mich2020 I’m planning to start CD8, I’ve only just finished AF on CD7 and I’m usually a 4 day max person! Got my delivery of OPK yesterday so I’m ready to go x

@restingbface hope that it helps you ovulate earlier, have you started the plan now or are you going to wait until cd8 or 10 to start? X

Hi! I’m trying SMEP this month also, currently CD7. Also took soy isoflavones this month to hopefully pull ovulation forward a little bit as I have long cycles and usually ovulate around day 22!

Mich2020 · 20/08/2020 21:57

Ohhh you'll have to keep in touch @igloo92 to let me know how your getting on. Did you manage to skip a day and then do it again the next too? It does seem hard work, but then I do try and dtd everyday leading up to ovulation for around 4 days so if I move that to my high/peak days it should be fine x

Heya, we decided to do SMEP this month too! I'm about 3dpo now but we managed CD 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15. Based on opks my ovulation day was 14 or maybe early 15. The 4 days in a row was hard work 😂😂. The last couple of months I've had ovulation pain on days 11 and 12 so we started a bit early as I was expecting to ovulate around that time. But it's nice to know we've given it a really good chance this month 😊

Mich2020 · 20/08/2020 21:52

@RobinRose hi, yes try go for it and see how you get on, I usually ovulate about cd12/13 but I am unsure if the lap and dye could have affected that and I might be earlier/later. We shall see.

Good luck to you too. How long have you been ttc?x

Hello! Haven't been successful but we thought about trying SMEP this month but not sure we will manage it! I think we could do every other day if not? I'm cd8, also started cd5 (i ovukste around dc11).

Good luck!
