My first 2WW - anyone else?

Paigey92 · 20/08/2020 13:24

Hello lovelies!
I’m in the middle of my very first 2ww, 8/9 dpo. It’s slowly driving me crazy and in my head I’ve told myself that I won’t test until 12dpo. I’ve had sore boobs and cramps for the last couple of days but that’s very normal for me in the week leading up to AF. Today my BBT seemed to rise again substantially, over a week into having my usual raised luteal phase temps. It’s the highest it’s ever been in three years of keeping track of my BBT. I know one temp doesn’t mean anything and I’m clutching at straws - like I said it’s slowly driving me crazy! Anyone else in the 2ww and want to pointlessly symptom spot with me? 🤣

Oh don't worry. Give me until mid next week and I'll be having to talk myself out of it anyway! Hah.
Felt very nauseated today, plus bad migraine which didn't help.
Keep me updated ladies, excited and hopeful for all of us.

MrsBmaybebaby · 22/08/2020 20:56

@Paigey92 oooh fingers crossed we are both celebrating together then! I’ve decided to do it on Monday morning; I had said Sunday so I’m trying my best pushing it forward a day 😂 I’ve got a spare test if I need later in the week.

@Alala wow you are being strict with yourself, 5th September, well done you! I thought I’d have been like that beforehand, but turns out this makes me bonkers Grin

I’ve got slightly reduced feeling when I touch my lower abdomen, in womb area (Like in comparison to further up my abdomen) ... I have no idea what that means Confused maybe it was always like that lol !

Paigey92 · 22/08/2020 20:43

@MrsBmaybebaby we are due the same day! I’m SO tempted to test tomorrow morning, got four FRER’s in my bathroom just waiting 😳 I know it’s too early and would likely result in a negative even if pregnant but I just need to know 😫

Welcome @queenatomto the Early Testers Anonymous!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for all of you x

@MrsBmaybeBaby Mines the 31st. I'm usually quite irregular so agreed to wait until 5th September before we double check.
If I liked wine I'd agree 😂😂

MrsBmaybebaby · 21/08/2020 19:39

@Alala sounds like positive symptoms though! That sounds like a nice idea, I think if AF arrives I’ll be having a glass of wine to cheer myself up! And if not well... chocolate for pregnant lady? AF is due thurs/fri next week, you?

Alala · 21/08/2020 18:37

@MrsBmaybeBaby How many days until Flo is meant to arrive? I've thought of an idea, to create a little package of stuff (pj's, face mask etc etc) for the day I'm testing. If it's negative, I'll do a pamper night with it all. Positive, it's a present to myself. Like an incentive or something to help distract.
I've came down to my mums for dinner, dinner tasted strange, I can smell everything and my stomach is up the left. This is fun.

MrsBmaybebaby · 21/08/2020 16:21

gah ladies ...ms name is Mrs B and I am an early tester ! okay well not quite I have managed to talk myself out of it so far, but it's just started popping into my head again a lot. obviously I can't apply my suggestion to myself @Alala ha ha! keep me strong ladies !

queenatom · 21/08/2020 15:36

@Alala @MrsBmaybebaby feeling okay aside from having a suspected bout of thrush which is rubbish! My breasts are periodically a little tender but that’s a normal PMS symptom so not reading too much into it.

Just struggling to keep my mind off of testing and on little things like work 😂 Hopefully the weekend will bring more exciting distractions.

MrsBmaybebaby · 21/08/2020 15:16

@Alala you know the more you try to push thoughts away, the more they will come up for you. try to just accept thoughts for what they are, products of the mind, without getting into a struggle with them. they will probably naturally reduce in frequency. also distraction works well :)

We haven't really talked about it however my closest friends and my boss (!) know, owing to circumstances with pre-existing health condition and covid (long story). so I imagine if I am pregnant they'll be like...going to the toilet again are you? ha ha

@queenatom hello yes please join us! the early testers anonymous group who I think are all itching to test. how have you been feeling since Ov?

Alala · 21/08/2020 14:16

Hey @queenatom! Of course, welcome! How you feeling?

queenatom · 21/08/2020 13:37

Hello! Can I join in? 6DPO in my first TWW and itching to test even though I know it’s way too early...

Alala · 21/08/2020 13:10

@MrsBmaybeBaby Yup. Only few hours left of my shift and can't stop googling stuff. Between that and needing the loo (tmi, it's not pee).
Trying to shut the thoughts off. Going down to parents later and don't want them thinking anything is wrong.
Have any of you guys talked about when you would tell people?

MrsBmaybebaby · 21/08/2020 13:01

@Alala yeah that sounds more like something that would actually happen! I don't think my skin would have improved if I was really pregnant tbh. I feel like my mind bounces between the list of reasons I'm pregnant and reasons I'm not pregnant :s I don't know about you but I'm struggling to focus on other things, like work!

Alala · 21/08/2020 10:39

@MrsBmaybeBaby I get you with the skin thing. But mine doesn't look better nescessarily. It's got oily and bit rough feeling. Maybe putting that down to bad skincare though.

MrsBmaybebaby · 21/08/2020 10:00

@Alala I like the sound of ETA, definitely need it! ;) you took the words out of my mouth, I think if I had always known that conceiving is not as easy as they make it out to be, I'd be so much more chill now. Unfortunately researching/realising the first month that you're trying makes you go a bit mental lol

@Paigey92 well done for staying strong! I'm trying to set myself a goal of Sunday but then try and push it back more when I get to Sunday (so psychologically I feel like I'm "allowed" to do it on Sunday, think that might may be a bit more chill)

I'm still crampy today, boobs a bit sore at the outer side, feel a bit less tired today though. bizarrely I feel like my skin looks BETTER.... I'm pretty sure this is not a thing, so think I'm best to prepare myself for nada this month

Alala · 21/08/2020 08:16

Morning!
Just a few days wait Paigey, if Auntie Flo comes then you'll saved yourself the price of a test 😂
Stomach has been a bit dodge since last night, and can't shift a sweet taste in my mouth. Other than that not too bad.
How about everyone else?

Paigey92 · 21/08/2020 08:03

I REALLY had to fight the urge to not test this morning! 10dpo, woke up in the middle of the night to pee which I NEVER do. Cramps though which feel like AF is on the way. Ive definitely got a triphasic BBT chart as my temp rose yesterday again and has stayed high today - the highest it’s ever been!
Trying to tell myself to stay collected and not get ahead of myself as this could all just be coincidence... how are you all feeling this morning?!

OP posts:
Alala · 20/08/2020 20:39

This can be like our AA but call it ETA (Early Testers Anonymous), if we get the urge to do it too early, come on here and we can support each other to wait 😂
I can't believe they never teach you properly in schools how difficult it can be to be pregnant, that miscarriages are normal etc. All they do is warn you not to get pregnant like you'll look at a boy and it'll happen. Think that makes it worse when we get to this stage cause we've only just be bombarded with statistics that it can fail, so it's alot to take in. Our expectations would be better levelled if we knew.

I do wish all the luck for you girls. We are in this together on this mental journey now!

icouldwriteabook · 20/08/2020 20:27

**worried about MC

icouldwriteabook · 20/08/2020 20:26

@Paigey92 sorry about your wedding! But exactly, don’t let a bloody pandemic stop your family expanding!
And I think reading the other posts I’m going to try my hardest and wait Atleast a week now! Argh Sad

I am so much more aware and worried and MC this time around too, I was much more chilled last time for some reason. I’m just constantly hearing stories of people having secondary infertility or miscarrying second time around. I’m not even ‘looking’ for it, but I’m trying to remain optimistic as I’m very early on with TTC.

I’ve had some symptoms but I’m not sure whether my mind is playing tricks on me as like I said I’m only 6dpo, I’ve definitely suffered with insomnia the past 4 nights (could just be shift work), along with bloating/heavy lower abdomen like you girls and also frequently going to the loo. Again all could just be normal, although my work pants are struggling to zip up with the bloating!

Fingers crossed for all of us!

Alala · 20/08/2020 20:06

Sounds identical! Also thinking, first time is surely not going to be a hit. Keep talking to myself to say, its okay, first month, of it doesn't work, keep trying.
But same, heavy feeling, few cramps, dizzy this morning. Tired.
I've agreed with myself, 5th of September. Can test then. Two weeks on Saturday. Have tests waiting in the bathroom, but got to resist. I need to keep reminding myself that finding out early doesn't guarantee anuthing, so it can wait. Urgh. Hard.
Anyone cut anything out of their diet in preparation? Everything I have is decaf now. Not a big drinker, never have been, but that's off the cards big time too.

MrsBmaybebaby · 20/08/2020 20:00

@Paigey92 yes definitely got symptoms, hopefully not just of post ovulation progesterone! I have a really heavy feeling in my lower abdomen all the time too, feels like a full bladder feeling but definitely isn’t (it’s there even after the loo and it’s not right place). I’ve been getting cramps today and yesterday, felt like I was hot earlier today although hubby said I wasn’t, and have had a headache all day. One half of me is like no way can you have been so lucky first time/you’re just imagining it, and the other half of me is like this really does feel like a new feeling! I’ll try to be sensible with you too, I keep stepping away from the tests as I know it’s too soon, but it’s hard to keep strong eh!

Paigey92 · 20/08/2020 19:30

@Alala I’m going to try and take your advice and hang on for as long as possible before testing! Sorry you’ve had such a hard time of it 😢 It doesn’t seem fair when it’s wanted so much and so hard to get! Fingers crossed for you this month. I’d really recommend BBT tracking too if you don’t do that already!

@MrsBmaybebaby I’m trying to be cool headed and sensible but the reality is I’m thinking about it every minute of every day haha! Have you got any symptoms?

I know I’m symptom spotting and all of these things could so easily be PMS symptoms but today I’ve had a really heavy feeling in my lower tummy, boobs seem to be getting more sore as the hours go by, back ache, and I just overall feel really warm! Felt pangs of nausea this afternoon but could well be down to pre-natal vitamins not agreeing with me...

MrsBmaybebaby · 20/08/2020 18:40

Wow @Paigey92 and @Alala you guys seem very cool headed about testing etc, well done you both! Teach me your ways Grin @Paigey92 I didn’t know that about chemical pregnancies, gah, you spend so long trying not to get pregnant only to find out it’s an absolute nightmare to get pregnant !

@Alala sorry to hear that you’ve been trying for a while, it must be so tough to keep going and put a brave face on. I’m glad you’ve got your friend now to do these things with, the support must be helpful and needed ! Also you sound like you’re going for some sort of record with your 12 days ha ha good on you!

@icouldwriteabook nice to have you on board too! I’m not sure I will be able to stop myself testing either, but I’m going to try and take inspiration from these two ladies here!!! The not knowing is very tough. I hope your 2WW ends in another wee one! Smile

Alala · 20/08/2020 18:14

The more the merrier ladies! It feels nice to have a little safe space for this!
I know it's hard, but waiting until at least the day your period should arrive would be a bit more calming for your head. Getting pale lines etc make it worse. Then you start thinking is it, is it not, getting excited etc. Its alot easier if it can be a bit stronger but whatever feels right for you guys obviously.
Last year we tested early, got a few pale lines, got excited, (super nausea all the time), ended up telling people and then boom, nothing. Took ages to bleed. Noone could give me answers.
We've been doing the trying, not trying this for 2 years since a MMC, with no luck. We've been referred for tests etc now since it's been a while.
But close friends recently miscarried which made us realise we wanted to get our shit together and go for it properly. So both on a health kick, recording everything down, and going at it like rabbits (10 times in 12 days too much? 😅)
I can't talk to anyone else about it cause they either don't have kids and don't want them yet, or haven't been through it etc. Plus OH wants us to keep it to ourselves until we get it confirmed with a 12 week scan when we are lucky enough.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
