Well ladies, I'm back here again (not that I ever really left...)

Had a scan this morning and no heartbeat anymore.

Glad to see there's some testing investigations going on in this thread now x

@acaciabluebell that sounds ideal, glad you managed this before the new lockdown started.

Unsure what the call will be about. Ive had bloods done, husband had semen analysis, so this is the clinic describing next steps. Perhaps other tests, perhaps IVF.

I'll let the thread know when I know :)

acaciabluebell · 31/10/2020 21:29

@Tofu35 we didn't stay over anywhere, but we ate out loads and had many fun days/nights out. Glad we managed to do this as it seems we won't be able to do so for a while now (what with the 2nd lockdown)

Good to hear about your telephone appt! Hoping you get a BFP of course - but if you don't then it will be good to be getting things moving soon after. Do you know what the call will be about?

Tofu35 · 31/10/2020 17:16

@acaciabluebell next Friday for me, but I'm getting a call from the fertility clinic in mid-November so if AF does show up, I've got something in the diary to try and nudge things along a little more.

Oh two weeks off, that sounds lovely. With all the restrictions, did you manage to do some day trips or staycations somewhere?

acaciabluebell · 31/10/2020 14:25

@Tofu35 Aww enjoy your cheesy films this weekend 😁 I've had a wonderful 2 weeks annual leave with my husband and just coming up to the last weekend now before going back to work on Mon! I'm 10dpo today and AF is due on Monday 😬 I've not had much going on symtpom wise this month. Tested with an ic on 7/8dpo but it was negative as always. When is AF due for you?

Tofu35 · 31/10/2020 13:59

Around 6dpo, so perfect time for me to wonder about every twinge, bloat, and yawn! Scotland is getting battered with storm Aidan so it's a day for blankets and cheesy Halloween films!

How are you doing today?

acaciabluebell · 31/10/2020 13:29

@Tofu35 hope you enjoyed!! Where are you in your cycle today?

Tofu35 · 30/10/2020 19:18

Happy takeaway Friday everyone! Delivery driver has arrived so it's time to a non home cooked meal :)

Daffodil21 · 28/10/2020 15:02

@Bam27 my DH is the same. I did lots of reading up and apparently the antioxidants in berries, especially blueberries is good to improve sperm, so I used to make him a berry pot to take to work every day. He did actually eat it too!

I also put a stone on since lockdown 😳 I'm not sure there are many people who haven't!

OP posts:
Bam27 · 28/10/2020 13:33

@Daffodil21 it has been a good distraction. Thanks, fingers crossed all goes well at your next scan, I'm sure it will
@Tofu35 my oh hardly eats any veg and definitely wouldn't participate in any diet🙄 he does eat a lot of fruit though.
@Aokbaby I've put on a stone as well!

Aokbaby · 28/10/2020 09:57

@Daffodil21 well I have everything crossed for you!!!

@Tofu35 I'm the same, have put on a full stone since earlier this year, the takeaways call to me and it feels like the only treat we can give ourselves 🙈🙈

Tofu35 · 28/10/2020 09:03

Hey @bam27 and @aokbaby! Trying to convince husband to eat the rainbow, but now it's winter the call of crisps and sweets is strong! Cooking a lot of healthy meals, although promised him that now I'm in the tww, he can get a 'nice' takeaway. But I've definitely put on some weight since I've had to work from home!

Daffodil21 · 28/10/2020 09:00

@Aokbaby it was reassuring for a day or two but I've seen a heartbeat before and it ended 4 days later, so I know anything could have changed since. I had lots of bleeding then though, but I'm not particularly looking forward to the next scan. I had a bit of brown when I wiped, I wouldn't have noticed it except I check the loo paper every time. I then had another tiny bit a few days later. Then again after the scan a bit too, but I was expecting that as it was internal. Time will tell I suppose.

@Bam27 @acaciabluebell I was the same as you, but actually losing a few lbs gave me something different to focus on. I actually do wish I had started sooner so I felt a bit better about myself now, but never mind! Fingers crossed for you both this month 🤞

Aokbaby · 28/10/2020 08:23

@Daffodil21 that's reassuring seeing the heartbeat hope all goes well at next scan. Have you had any more spotting? Did it just happen one time?

Bam27 · 28/10/2020 07:33

@acaciabluebell that's good! Sounds like your in with a chance to me!.. Yes it is and after a year of it I've piled on the pounds and just can't put it off anymore!

acaciabluebell · 28/10/2020 00:43

Hey everyone how are you? Happy to see this chat is alive and well.

So I had previously counted this month out because DH went away for a trip and was going to be gone during my entire predicted fertile week. Surprisingly, I seemed to ovulate much later than expected, and we managed to DTD when he came back - 2 days before ovulation, day of, and day after. So hopefully we're in with a shot this month. It's our 5th month TTC. I feel ok so far, I felt really bad after AF last month but feeling better this month 😊 I'm 7dpo today.

@Bam27 I'm guilty of thinking the way you mentioned... putting off healthy eating because if I ever do get pregnant the pounds will pile back on again! It's such a silly way to think!

Bam27 · 27/10/2020 09:59

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hello and hope you are all well. Been quietly reading all your posts 😂 I'm still here 😂
I'm currently on a diet and also eating the rainbow as you put it @Daffodil21 kept putting off losing the pounds because I was gonna gain anyway but can't keep putting it off for something I don't know if and when it will happen and being healthier can only help with fertility. I haven't done OPKs this month because I'm trying to relax about it all and just see what happens, not really even trying to time dtd either.

Tofu35 · 26/10/2020 21:12

@daffodil21 thanks pal! We've been eating healthy the last two weeks so husband is looking forward to having a "filthy takeout" this friday as I'll be properly in the tww by then. Hoping you get to see the heartbeat at next week's appointment!

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 20:22

@Poppyismyfavourite that's lovely! So pleased for you!

@Tofu35 we didn't hear it, we just saw it. Tbh I was in such a state of shock I didn't really actually see it, I just heard them say it was there and ok (for now at least) then I was just kind of in a dazed zombie state 😂🙈 hopefully we'll see it again and hear it as well next week.
Oh noo approaching the dreaded tww! Good idea to go a couple of days over just in case. I suppose you can enjoy the 'break' now for a little bit at least! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Tofu35 · 26/10/2020 19:49

Eek @Poppyismyfavourite a wee girl! 🥰 And @daffodil21 so happy you heard a heartbeat at your scan!

Think I'm 2dpo currently, but we're trying to go a few days over just in case!

Poppyismyfavourite · 26/10/2020 15:33

@Daffodil21 yes! We both had a slight preference for a girl actually! DH says teenage boys are "too much trouble" hahahahaha has he met a teenage girl??? and I was hoping for one of each but slightly preferred to have a girl first.

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 15:27

@CEW19 it's interesting you say that about the Fitbit HRH monitor. I only started wearing mine the cycle before last, it there was a clear spike in heart rate on ovulation day. Then on the month I actually was pregnant it was all over the place in the TWW!

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 15:00

@CEW19 I actually did lots differently last month. I decided to throw the kitchen sink at it. Here's the list:

  • didn't do OPKs, didn't time anything
  • switched to whole milk only in tea, cereal etc, and out of a glass bottle to reduce plastic intake etc
  • filtered all my drinking water
  • acupuncture just before ovulation
  • reflexology
  • treated myself to a massage (just to generally help de-stress)
  • I had improved my diet a lot too (I was trying to lose a few lbs) lots of varied veggies - I 'ate the rainbow' as they say.
  • reduced BPA exposure where possible - basically didn't drink out of plastic water bottles, didn't eat any food that was cooked in a plastic container etc
  • used pre-seed (only once)
  • stuck my legs in the air after dtd (only once, and laughed at myself because I felt so stupid!)
  • didn't make sure we dtd every other day!
  • continued to take my supplements (r-alpha lipoid acid, 200mg COQ10 twice a day, floradix (the one with the b vits in it), high strength vit d (4000iu, now I take 2000iu), vita west omega 3 DHA and 1000mcg methylfolate (instead of folic acid)
  • DH continued to take his supplements (procieve max men), but we also added 200mg COQ10 and the vita west omega 3 DHA, methylfolate, r-alpha lipoic acid and l-carnitine

No idea if any of it worked but something must have!?

@Poppyismyfavourite a girl?! How exciting!!!! ❤️

CEW19 · 26/10/2020 14:06

@Daffodil21 yeah we'll still have sex through the month but try not to watch the timings too much. I wear a fitbit and the rhr is spot on when it comes to ovulation and AF so I'll take that off I think. What else did you do differently this time? Thinking ahead to December and what I can do to increase chances lol

Poppyismyfavourite · 26/10/2020 13:53

@Daffodil21 that's very sensible! You're sweet to ask - I'm fine thanks, feeling movements fairly regularly now, although as soon as I don't for a couple of hours I'm worrying that she's not ok... Another week, another worry lol! I thought I'd be fine after the 12/20 week scan / whatever landmark, but I think if you have the predisposition (which apparently I do) you just think of new things to worry about!
