Hey ladies, I hope you're all well. I think I'm around 8dpo right now. We did try half heartedly this month but Ive been distracted as I've been a bit unwell this month with a severe soft tissue infection in my ear. I had some surgery and I'm now on a super strong antibiotic now which is making me feel even worse than the infection did. This is my 3rd course of antibiotics back to back!! So I don't really think there's much hope of me falling pregnant this month 😔 At least I won't be symptom spotting hopefully because I'm putting all of my sickness etc down to the tablets

Daffodil21 · 21/11/2020 10:12

Yeah @Bramleyapples13 as of Thursday we could get going, so we have! I didn't expect it to be this early so I'm half expecting it to flash for a while. It's not any earlier than usual but expected it to be later if anything.

@Tofu35 I've read and heard about ovulation spotting so maybe it's that? I've never had it myself though

Some insight required (early tmi!):
I'm on CD15, so in the fw (but having the month off as I've booked in to get the tubes checked next month). Instead of getting CM this month, I seem to be spotting. Not a lot, just when I wipe. First time I've had spotting mid-cycle. Any experiences/insights?

Tofu35 · 21/11/2020 09:27

Thanks for the heads up @Bramleyapples13!

Woopwoop flashing smiley @Daffodil21! That's your weekend sorted then 😂

Bramleyapples13 · 20/11/2020 21:29

@Daffodil21 yay! Can you get doing the baby dance?

Also I don't know if people want a heads up but the Clearblue OPK are on offer on Amazon as are Pregnacare for Black Friday (I do not get any commission 😂)

Daffodil21 · 20/11/2020 10:35

Ladies, I got a flashing face this morning!!!!

Normally it takes 4-5 days until I get a static, and I did have that weird month where it took 10 days, so not getting my hopes up. But this is progress!!! I didn't expect it to be so soon, tbh I didn't really expect it this side of Christmas because after the second time my cycles were really messed up for months.

Hope everyone is doing ok????

@Tofu35 cross your legs and hope for the best 😂😂 that did make me laugh! It might be good for you to take a mental break too.

We haven't dtd for ages (I was too paranoid to when I was preg) so hoping DH will be raring to go from Thursday, assuming the test is fully negative (you also have to wait two weeks to help prevent infection). So here we go again! In some ways TTC is slightly easier than actually being pregnant for me... I know where I am with it at least. I know what to do (it's not hard is it! Well maybe it is..). Starting a proper health kick now too, well picking up on the one I did start. So going to try and focus on that and just go with the flow while we wait for tests and results (ha)

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 17/11/2020 15:14

@daffodil21, yep! Need to make sure I'm definitely not pregnant before they do the investigations. So no penetrative sex this month. In some ways it sounds daft to give a month away, but if it means I find out why it's taking longer than it should, just need to cross my legs and hope for the best 😂

Daffodil21 · 17/11/2020 13:55

@Tofu35 fingers crossed for BFN (for me), what has my life become? 😔 does that mean you have to actively try not to conceive?

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 17/11/2020 13:17

@daffodil21 paid for a private dye test next month and we've been told no TTC this month. So no tracking and just enjoying not being tied to the FW. Like you said, its being treated like a break.
Hope you get your BFN soon x

Daffodil21 · 17/11/2020 09:13

@Bramleyapples13 oh really? That's shit. Sort of in the same boat here waiting for appointments. I likely won't hear anything from RMC until January so just in limbo until things get going there. I suppose we can treat it like a little break? That's what I'm going to do anyway - still regularly dtd but not track etc. Although I'm going to start tracking this month because I have no idea when my cycle will come back. Got to wait for a fully negative pregnancy test first though, did a cheapie yesterday and it had a faint line still. Never thought I'd see the day where I didn't get excited about a v faint line 🙄

Bramleyapples13 · 16/11/2020 18:15

They've said they haven't done any appointments throughout either lock down so I'll apparently hear from them in a few months 🙄 but never mind! I'll be ordering a load of gin for Christmas instead 😂

Daffodil21 · 16/11/2020 15:05

@Bramleyapples13 everything continued as normal for me with the fertility clinic, even through the first lockdown so hopefully it'll be the same for you. My initial consultation was on the phone and then I went to my local GP for blood tests, and then to the clinic for a scan.

Fingers crossed you won't need it though! 🤞

OP posts:
Bramleyapples13 · 16/11/2020 07:46

@Daffodil21 it's been alright. Busy but coping. I'm due AF tomorrow, so we'll see. I've had my referral for the fertility clinic but that's obviously up in the air at the minute.

I can see there's been a few BFP as well from people?

Daffodil21 · 15/11/2020 21:39

@Bam27 similar to me - I had 35 antral follicles during my scan. A blood test over a year ago showed high prolactin but a repeat since hasn't. So they seem to have disregarded all my other symptoms. I'm pretty sure though so I've booked an app with the GP next week to try and g er it actually diagnosed so I can't get treatment if needed.

@Bramleyapples13 thank you ❤️ nice to have you back. How have you been doing? Do you know where you are in your cycle?

Bramleyapples13 · 15/11/2020 18:45

Hello everyone! I thought the thread had gone! It stopped showing me updates ages ago 😭 bloody thing. I hope every one is okay? I'm so sorry @Daffodil21 to hear your news. I'm thinking of you.

Bam27 · 13/11/2020 20:54

@Daffodil21 thanks for the info I will look out for that. I was suspected of. It before when I had a scan because I had a lot of follicles, but at the time my hormone levels were fine, although I don't remember having them done on a certain day. That was years ago though.
@Tofu35 sounds like you balance each other out well. Me and oh do the same he's super chill and I'm a stress head. Thanks.

Tofu35 · 13/11/2020 14:24

@bam27 @daffodil21 it is good he's enthusiastic, but sometimes it's like if he could take the pregnancy on and not me, he'd give it a good go! But I'm so laid-back it's probably why I liked him in the first place, he's 'now! Go go go!' whereas I'm a "let's sit and think about it, worry a little and then decide another day".

Good luck with your blood test, Bam! Hope it gives you some answers.

Daffodil21 · 13/11/2020 13:25

@Bam27 you might have to push for a PCOS diagnosis. I still don't have one 2 years on and I'm pretty sure. If you do have it, it is likely your prolactin levels will come back high, and then they'll do more blood tests to check your liver function etc to rule out those things.

@Tofu35 it's great your husband is being proactive!

OP posts:
Bam27 · 13/11/2020 12:42

Have spoken to the doctor and having blood tests done but need to wait for cycle day 5, they are going to test hormones and thyroid. She mentioned that I could have polycystic ovaries.

Bam27 · 13/11/2020 10:15

@Tofu35 that's good that they are going to test your tubes. Also think it's good that your husband is so keen to get it done sooner. My OH is sure there is nothing wrong 😂 even with the fact that we already know I have endometriosis!

Tofu35 · 12/11/2020 16:56

The fertility clinic call went ok. I'm now on a 3 month waiting list to get the dye test to check the tubes are clear.

Husband, ever the impatient element of the marriage, is now emailing private clinics to see if we can get this done any quicker. Finding £500 so close to Christmas...eek.

Daffodil21 · 12/11/2020 11:29

@Bam27 I think it depends on where you live. Mine is £45 for an hour session, but she talks through things with me too so it's almost like a bit a therapy on top! I'm having one session every two weeks but of all the things I've been trying, this is top of my list and I don't mind spending the money on it

OP posts:
Bam27 · 12/11/2020 11:23

@Daffodil21 I will do. Got a lovely doctor calling me so hopefully won't have to push too much. I've thought about it but never looked into it, is it expensive?
@CEW19 I know that feeling, makes me so angry.

Daffodil21 · 12/11/2020 11:04

@Bam27 please let us know how you get on, and don't be afraid to push for what you want. Yeah I don't plan on doing OPKs long term, I just want to know how long it will be for my cycle to return to 'normal'. Have you ever thought about acupuncture to help regulate your cycles? Sorry if we've spoken about this before. Mine sound similar to yours and my acupuncturist sounds like she has no doubt she can regulate them. I've only had one proper session with her because I got pregnant that cycle, but we're starting again on Monday. I'll let you know how I get on but might be worth a thought. She sounded so sure that I fully believe in her!

@CEW19 I know. It's beyond frustrating isn't it. I re-wrote our vitamin/supplement plan last night and died a little inside at having to do it all again! Part of me thinks none of it makes any difference, but it at least feels like we have some control over the situation. Then part of me thinks something must have done something last cycle to help so maybe it was because we were taking xyz. I suppose there's no harm in giving it all a go. Really hope it happens soon for you 🤞
