@Poppyismyfavourite was lovely to see your happy news!

I had my first official scan yesterday. All looking good and measuring 13 weeks. I still feel a bit of a jolt when I see pregnancy announcements on social media so I won’t be doing it. Just text family and close friends instead.

Hope everyone doing ok ❤️

Daffodil21 · 20/03/2021 18:53

@Poppyismyfavourite it's nice to get some hope and hear happy stories from this thread. I know it seems easy for me to say now, but I haven't forgotten how it feels to be TTC.

I think people on here have moved onto other, more active threads.

I really really hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

Well I seem to have killed the thread... sorry guys it was a bit insensitive to post a baby pic on a ttc thread :(

Tofu35 · 26/02/2021 09:36

Aww @poppyismyfavourite this is lovely to see, congratulations to you and your family :)

CEW19 · 20/02/2021 19:06

Thank you!

@Poppyismyfavourite I only enjoy it for a couple of days after a scan and then it's back to worrying again! I was also probably up peeing at that time 😂

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 16/02/2021 05:11

*and yes, I'm awake at 5am because I had to get up for a wee!

Poppyismyfavourite · 16/02/2021 05:10

Aww a boy 😍 lovely!
I spent the first 20 weeks thinking I'd feel better after the anomaly scan... But didn't really lol!
Also had the disappearing symptoms around 15 weeks which really made me worry! Peeing often during the night is one that has come and gone several times now!

JTB123 · 15/02/2021 21:36

Awwwwww a boy!!!! I'm so excited for you to have got to this HUGE milestone ♥️

CEW19 · 15/02/2021 20:59

Amazing 💙💙 Really hope you’re able to start enjoying your pregnancy soon.

I’m absolutely hating the first trimester.

Daffodil21 · 15/02/2021 20:54

Well, all is ok...!

And....it's a boy 💙 (he thinks anyway, he needs to confirm at the next scan!)

OP posts:
JTB123 · 15/02/2021 19:47

@Daffodil21 aw sure I understand that, I was often googling why my boobs no longer hurt after 10 weeks etc 😳😂 the symptoms got right in my bloody head! X

Daffodil21 · 15/02/2021 19:03

Thanks both.

@JTB123 it's just because it's such a sudden change that's worrying me. It's basically my only symptom and it's fading fast. It could be to do with the steroids I'm on because they make you pee a lot, and I'm just starting to wean off them now. So I really hope it's just that and nothing more

OP posts:
JTB123 · 15/02/2021 18:26

@Daffodil21 hope the scan goes ok! - I wouldn't worry about the whole weeing at night thing.. I'm 33 weeks now and don't wake up once during the night for a wee! Xx

CEW19 · 15/02/2021 15:02

@daffodil21, fingers crossed everything will be just fine. I just told my best friend, and said I was feeling super nervous, and she told me her anxiety didn't stop until after the 20 week one. So that's something to look forward to lol. My DH thinks I'm bonkers and got nothing to worry about, so good thing he's away this week so I don't 'accidentally' kill him.

Daffodil21 · 15/02/2021 14:34

@CEW19 only got up twice to pee last night, and the second time wasn't until my husband's alarm went off at 6:45. I'm not sure I would have woken to go until my alarm went off otherwise. Anxiety is absolutely through the roof today, probably the worst it's been so I'm bringing Friday's scan forward to this evening. Yeah, I'm super worried about a MMC too, even though I'm in the second trimester now, it can still happen. None of my losses were MMC, but that's not to say it won't happen.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough, that sounds awful! Especially while your DH is away

OP posts:
CEW19 · 15/02/2021 14:02

@daffodil21 I might actually, just as reassurance. My symptoms tend to come and go quite a bit. Felt fine last week really and nausea had gone, but today it's come right on back. No throwing up, just waves of retching which is vile. My DH is away all of this week so might try and get one booked for next week. Two friends of mine had MMC's last year, and now I have this irrational fear that there won't be a heartbeat at my 12-week.

Try and be kind to yourself this week. Easier said than done, but a bit of self-care can go a long way sometimes.

Daffodil21 · 14/02/2021 17:04

Oops pressed post too soon!!

@CEW19 no not at all tbh. I've been peeing less at night, and have sometimes gone 4 hours without needing to get up (it's been every 2 hours since before my bfp) so I'm pretty concerned that something is wrong. I've got a private scan on Friday so just trying to make it until then and see what the situation is.

If you're feeling really anxious there's nothing wrong with getting a private scan before your dating scan. I'd had 4 scans before my dating scan 🙈 and I'm glad I did. It's torture waiting until this Friday but I'm going to try and hold out

@CEW19 no, not at all tbh.

@Poppyismyfavourite how exciting! I’m sure once baby is here, you won’t even think about how it happened 😊

@Daffodil21 are you feeling a bit more relaxed now you’ve passed 12 weeks? I’m 8 weeks today and had my date through this week for my scan, 21 March. I’ll be 12+5 by then and I’m just counting the hours. Feeling so anxious at the minute. My symptoms just come and go constantly, so won’t be able to relax until after the 21 March, unless I cave and get an early scan before then!

Happy V Day all ❤️

Daffodil21 · 14/02/2021 11:56

So so glad to see such positive news come from this thread 💕 sorry you're having such a tricky time though @Poppyismyfavourite - not long to go!!!!!

@JTB123 hoping all goes well for you too!

@CEW19 aww that's so sweet but definitely good for you not to have known that when you were TTC! My mum bought a girl's cardigan years ago - it was either just before we started TTC or when it was very early. They can't help themselves can they?! I suppose they're just excited but it's frustrating when things take longer than you think (or in my case take longer and then fail 🙈). It became a common conversation of 'I've got some news, but don't get your knitting needles out yet' I'm surprised she has held off so long this time, but I'm glad she has. How are you doing?

OP posts:
JTB123 · 13/02/2021 23:10

@Poppyismyfavourite aargh good luck 😍 I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and it's scary how close it's getting!

Poppyismyfavourite · 13/02/2021 22:13

Well I had a second ECV on weds and no luck, so I'm now booked in for a c section this wednesday! Bit bummed as I really wanted a water birth but I'm ok with it really - obviously getting baby here safely is the important thing! And it's nice to know there's a definite date - I was also a breech baby born by c section at 2 weeks overdue!
Only 4 more sleeps lol! Trying to finish my to do list... spent this afternoon painting the radiators... that's what everyone does at 39 weeks pregnant right?
