TTC AUGUST (Fertile window mid august!)

TTC #2 with irregular periods. Clearblue advanced sticks worked well the first time, so will try again! #1 took 6 months, have a feeling this time will be longer. Good luck ladies.

Well last month I was 2 days late which was weird for me so I tested on the 2nd day and then came on in the arvo 😠 how about you?

I got the pack of 10 as I’d run out of cheapies, I didn’t start on the right day as it was all I had at home and I was scared I’d miss it, I had 9 flashing smileys and was giving up hope and ran out of those then I did a cheap one and got my positive 🥳 I completely agree with you, I think I’ll probably just use the cheap ones again now I’ve worked out I just have a short surge and it seems to be in the middle of the day so I’d probably miss it anyway if I used the CB ones again!

I’m so impatient too, I just keep staring at the calendar wishing the days away 😂 I think I’ll probably test on 23rd, I’ve got a first response test in the cupboard I might have to ask my husband to take it to work so I don’t use it sooner 😂

@Beaglemum93 Thank you. how long after your MMC did you conceive your son?

I'd really love to be pregnant by Xmas, but we will see.

@Kg87 I found a big pack of Clearblue Digital Advanced OPKs going out of date in Superdrug for £2, so I did those this month! Don't think I'd shell out the £47 for them again but it was good while it lasted. My cycle is 27/28 days and it said to start on CD7, so I started testing on CD5 because I'm impatient like that 🤣 Got my first high reading on CD10 and my peak on CD17 😊

They're nice and easy to read but now I've more or less confirmed my suspicions about ovulating a little later than expected around CD17/18 (I counted the day of my peak as the day of ovulation this cycle because I tested early in the morning and I'd started getting sensitive nipples the night before which I'm sure is an ov sign for me), I'll probably just use cheapies in future cycles to make sure that doesn't change too much.

@beckyBP when is your FW? Do you test before AF arrives or are you patient and wait it out?

@BabyH88 totally get you. I started OPKs this month and it blew my mind. I'm glad I have now though as my flo prediction was nearly a week out so I had it wrong.

You should be ok if you DTD every other day as I think sperm can live for a while.

@beckyBP I am doing vitamins and dtd every other day I can't wrap my head around OPKs esp for one month I need to do some reading on it first lol.

OMG I got it soooo wrong I thought AF was due on the 1st August but it arrived 28/29 which threw off the dates I thought I was ovulating and we hadn't DTD 🙄

Hey @BabyH88 I was EXACTLY the same. 2nd month TTC and last month just freestyled. This month I'm doing vitamins and OPKs and I was was off on my predicted ovulation last month!

@Shinea I think that means you ovulate today! Get DTD! X

Wondering if I can join please, cycle 2 TTC just going into my FW.

This will be our last month then we will have to stop as we are getting married next year. Postponed due to Covid 🙄

I got it completely wrong last month and dates were all over the place so just going to DTD as much as possible to cover all dates 😂

I know it’s just crazy how much I didn’t know, but as you say - they didn’t teach us any of this in school! I only knew to take folic acid and DTD too!

I saw the reviews about delayed periods before I started Pregnacare but not about delayed ovulation and I didn’t put the two together until I was frantically googling when OV day didn’t come 😅 I only took 3 weeks worth but now I’m worried AF will still come on the original day which is one week earlier than Flos prediction now as it updated when I logged OV 🤷🏽‍♀️ It seemed so tempting when I read the reviews about people getting pregnant within one month but I probably wouldn’t recommend it now as the TWW is long enough so I’ve just added more time/stress! I also noticed I had zero EWCM this month, could all just be a coincidence though!

I’m just back to taking folic acid now which I started in March. I’m trying to eat a balanced diet too but hard with all the family BBQs.

Has anyone used the Clear Blue advanced digital ovulation kits?

Hi joining in these TTC after a break as I had MMC in march this year which discouraged me a lot and the pandemic didn't help either.

We have been trying blindly since then but I'm feeling upto it again and have ordered some ovulation strips today.

Currently CD2
Fertile window around 21st August
Hopeful BFP 6th September

hi again! not had any luck with opks this time around. it's possible that ovulation is just gonna be too late this time as my cycles are pretty short there will be no time for implantation. i've been doing the tests every morning and night but it's possible the surge happened in the middle of the night. i'm supposed to be ovulating today-ish according to my other cycles. even though this is my first cycle ttc i have been tracking ovulation for a while so i'm pretty certain i know when i usually ovulate now. also found some ewcm two days ago which is when the donor came round. if i do get a positive opk today or tomorrow then i will ask if the donor can try again but i'm thinking i just missed the lh surge. good luck to everyone!

@Kg87 hope it's ovulation for you. I've heard of pregnacare delaying ovulation before. I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin D.

@Kg87 Definitely no need to feel ashamed about not knowing all this stuff - it's never really taught to you! I was the same, didn't know anything really about TTC beyond DTD/take folic acid before I came on here.

Yeah I'm really glad I read about Pregnacare on here before starting TTC (I was a lurker for a good while before we started lol) because I would have gone straight for it, but not so keen if it's going to change my cycles etc. Are you taking something else instead now?

@EmmaAM Rubbish that you get the cramps so badly but like you say, it's good to have that confirmation! I'm feeling slightly crampy today so I was rubbing my tummy a bit and OH was like, are you rubbing to encourage it to work? (as we DTD this afternoon) 🤣

I had some spotting on Sunday and again today but only the tiniest amount so I’m assuming this is ovulation related? I also had some minor cramps on my left side, I’ve never properly had period pains so can’t really compare so again I’m assuming/hoping it’s ovulation related

@Beaglemum93 - yes I've also been doing the opks haha. I didn't want to but felt compelled last night in Asda. I'm aware that you're supposed to test earlier though to get the baseline or whatever that is? But I test last night and got a static smiley and again this morning. My boy is three, yours?

@iloveyoubutilovememore how are you tracking ovulation? I've been doing opks despite saying I was going to be more relaxed about ttc this time. How old is your DS?

I'm so glad that there are so many of us in the same boat! Ovulation symptom wise, I do tend to get a bit of cramping on one side. It wasn't as noticeable this month but last month the cramps actually made me feel a bit sick. Not fun but at least I was fully aware as to when I was ovulating 😂

@EmmaAM same! I’m actually quite ashamed of how little I knew about conception, since I’ve been reading these forums I’m shocked there’s so much to it!

Yes I’m also really paranoid that I didnt ovulate too! I was extra paranoid this month as I didn’t ovulate (supposedly) until CD17 but it was supposed to be CD10 according to Flo as my cycles are usually around 25 days, I started Pregnacare Conception last month so as soon as I saw reviews that it could delay ovulation and periods I stopped and OV finally came, not sure if it’s a coincidence!

@Shinea It's so nice to have a few people at the same stage to chat to about it all! My OH is great about it but I'm sure he's not going to want to hear about every tiny twinge 🤣 .... Although that probably won't stop me telling him anyway haha

@EmmaAM @Kg87 @somanystars looks like we all are in same boat, even I am 1 dpo and my AF is due on Aug 25th. Hopefully all of us get our BFP 😀😀
