@Kg87 I think even when you're busy it is impossible to keep it out of your mind or symptom spot.

When will you test? Will you wait for AF to be late first?

Can't wait to see some BFPs x

Pinkiii · 12/08/2020 10:40

@BabyH88 fingers crossed it happens quickly for you. sometimes you just have to go with what life throws at you.

This will be our first cycle trying for Dc2, will try a couple of cycles with my flo app and then try the other stuff. Trying to not put pressure on ourselves atm.

somanystars · 12/08/2020 10:40

@Kg87 Oh how strange, we have family staying with us this weekend too! In fact my husband mentioned last night that we wouldn't be able to DTD while they're here so I'm glad the timings have turned out the way they have.

I'm glad that it'll take my mind off things for a bit - and so will the mega clean I'll have to do before then to have people staying with us for the first time in over five months 🤣

I was diagnosed last year so I've had a bit of time to get used to it and it's not so bad. I do worry though that I might crave gluten when I'm pregnant!!

I was on the pill for about five years and then had the implant for two so I'm the same, just getting used to how things actually feel for me with no outside influence! Plus, I started the pill when I was 18 and I'm 25 now so it's possible my cycle is slightly different to how it was back then as well. If nothing else, it's been interesting to learn more about what my body's doing!

Kg87 · 12/08/2020 10:34

@3andout yesss fingers crossed for us all! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Kg87 · 12/08/2020 10:31

@BabyH88 yeah he loved it, I think it would be a bit too cold for me! Yes the wait is horrible, just need to keep occupied like you say, we’ve got family round from Friday til Sunday so that will take up 3 days.. need to fill in the other 11 days now 🙈

@somanystars yes it has been nice but it’s just too much, especially when there’s no pool to jump into when it gets too hot! It’s raining from tomorrow here too for the next couple of weeks so I shouldn’t complain about the heat really. Yeah I almost forgot we’re the same DPO too! Oh no, coeliac disease isn’t nice, I have a friend with it too. I have to admit I’ve already googled but came up with nothing, obviously 😅 I agree about recognising the feelings, I had a twinge on the left a few days back which felt familiar, I probably just didn’t know what it was before! I was on the mini pill for around 12 years so I don’t think I’ve ever really known what my body was like without it so I’m still getting used to the monthly changes!

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 10:24

@3andout ha ha love that! I have been off the pill since May last year so that should be well and truly out of my system. I feel like I am constantly winging it. There's no pressure for the moment with the wedding.

There's no sign of it getting any cooler here.

3andout · 12/08/2020 10:13

Dd1 was cycle 2 I had just come off the pill so expected a 6 cycle delay, so was a surprise. And cycle 2 was when I started opks. Cycle 1 we winged it.

DD2 was the result of a 'risky' quickie..... 😉

@Kg87 so am I, fingers crossed for a bfp in a couple of weeks 🤞

somanystars · 12/08/2020 10:06

@Kg87 Ahh see I love the heat, that sounds wonderful to me 😍 To be fair I just checked and it's to get to 26 here today, but it's cloudy... And it's to rain all weekend 😭

Forgot we were the exact same DPO! Not feeling so crampy or bloated today so def think it was to do with ovulation. The funny thing is that I did recognise the feeling, so wonder if I've felt it on previous months and just not known what it was! Although, I've got coeliac disease so it's extra hard for me to tell what's going on in my stomach haha.

Also, it's already crossed my mind to Google what kind of symptoms you can get at 2DPO 🤦🏻‍♀️

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 10:02

@Kg87 Think your OH has the right idea might give it a try myself.

The wait is the worst bit isn't it, we are going away for a few days to the Peak District this weekend so I'm hoping it will keep me occupied (doubt it tho) 🙊

Kg87 · 12/08/2020 09:53

@3andout It’s so good to have people to talk to in almost the exact same position, glad I found this thread!

@BabyH88 ah you’re lucky! We’ve got a normal stand up fan that we had in front of the open window sucking the cool air in. Also OH put damp towels in the freezer and laid them on him before he went to sleep which he said was amazing!

@somanystars ahh 23° is still nice tho, kind of wish it was that low here, I’m in Surrey and it’s been 30+ for days now, I’ll be complaining when it starts raining tho haha. Yeah we very nearly didn’t DTD but I insisted!

So I’m 2 DPO now and impatiently waiting for a sign, nothing yet other than v light spotting, not expecting anything to change for around a week but just wish it would hurry up so I know!

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 09:38

@Pinkiii Thank you, it's so difficult as we thought we would be married this year pushing it to next year pushed all our plans of conceiving to next year as well, but we decided to try for a couple of months. It will be a tight squeeze having a baby before the wedding but I think we can make it work.

Where are you at on your TTC journey?

somanystars · 12/08/2020 09:35

@Kg87 I'm in Scotland where the temp hasn't gone above 23 on a good day (😭) so we haven't really had to worry about the heat! At least not in the same way as some places further south where it's been really sweltering. I know it must be frustrating when it's that warm sticky way and it puts you off DTD but god I'd love some properly hot weather haha

Pinkiii · 12/08/2020 09:29

@BabyH88 I wouldn’t worry about Age atm. I convieved my first at 32 pretty quickly and some of the people I met on NCT classes (probably about 4 out of 8) were 37+ and convieved with no problems and have all had healthy pregnancies and babies.

im ovulating today according to my app! Need my husband to get home from work😊

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 09:16

@3andout Thank you it is really reassuring to hear from people who have been there as all you hear is the negative stories about getting too old or the chances being so slim. Did you conceive quickly with your first?

BabyH88 · 12/08/2020 09:15

@Kg87 I know the heat is a bloody killer we are lucky we have a ceiling fan in our bedroom that is on 24/7 lol

3andout · 12/08/2020 09:00

@babyH88, try not to worry about age, I know the risks go up as you get into your mid 30's. But I had my first DD at 34 and my second at 37. I'll be 40 this month and going for a 3rd...

@Kg87 yay! It's nice to have a cycle buddy!

Kg87 · 12/08/2020 08:26

@3andout! Hiya!! Looks like we’re all in a similar position!

@Moandy that’s great the CB ones worked for you! I can’t decide if constant flashing smileys or negative cheap OPK is worse so I’m not sure which to use next time, fingers crossed we won’t have to!

@Beaglemum93 @somanystars yeah I’ve got some cheap ones that I might use earlier than planned if I struggle to contain myself (Likely) but I’ll save the FR one I think. Also that’s so good that you got them that cheap!! I’m going to be on the look out now haha.

How is everyone finding DTD in this heat??

@BabyH88 That’s great he’s loving it, my husband was a mess in the heat 😂 but we both didn’t want to risk missing it this month

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 23:04

@beckyBP I know what you mean I just want to be married now, don't want to wait not bothered about the rest of it.

Do you think you will go for next year or 2022?

🤞🏻 you get to dtd during your FW.

My partner is loving the every other day rule lol even in this heat 😂

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 22:40

@BabyH88 oh gosh so sorry to hear about your nan. Of course that will have changed things for you.

Totally get you! I worry but plenty of people do have babies at 34 and later so try not to worry yourself too much. We haven't set another date for our wedding just yet. Secretly, I'm totally over it!

He does know, he asks when I'm ovulating all the time but I don't think he fully gets it.. to be fair I'm still learning and it's bloody overwhelming! I'll see what mood he comes to bed in.

You're so right! I honestly thought we'd be pregnant month one. How naive of me!

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 22:34

@beckyBP yea that's a good idea I am using clue and Ovia. Tbh I could have used them this month but my Nan passed away and I wasn't in the frame of mind to think about it.

I am 32 which means if we don't conceive this month and start trying after the wedding and are successful I will be 34 having baby number one and that scares me a lot because there's no guarantee it will happen then either, so stressful.

Oh no that is so frustrating, does he know you're tracking and that it's important to DTD as the window is so small? I think it is difficult to get it across to the other half hence why we failed so badly last month neither of us had a clue lol.

Rant away that's what this is about, can you not switch the mood up before the night is lost?

How is it we are taught all of our lives how to prevent pregnancy but never taught how stressful/difficult it can be?

beckyBP · 11/08/2020 22:22

@BabyH88 it's all so confusing isn't it. Yeah I'd definitely recommend OPKs. You could even take them next month (if AF arrives) just to figure out your cycle. Flo was off for me. Femometer was almost and I think ovia was bang on.

I'm 29. How about you?

Frustratingly, I ovulated yesterday.. we didn't DTD because I bloody fell asleep before he came to bed and tonight he's in a foul mood which has put me in a mood so we don't be DTD tonight either 😠 I'm in even MORE of a mood now!

Soz for the rant.

Beaglemum93 · 11/08/2020 22:17

@Monday55 it took 6 months but I had retained products for 16 weeks after the D&C and had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before my son.

@Kg87 I had to get my husband to hide my pregnancy tests when we were ttc last time, I'll probably have to do the same again even though I'm being "relaxed" about it this time!

3andout · 11/08/2020 21:59

Hi all,

Fingers crossed this is everyone's month!

I'm on cycle 2 of ttc dc3. Af due on the 24th tww starts tomorrow!

BabyH88 · 11/08/2020 21:56

@beckyBP oh no that's so frustrating our bodies play so many tricks on us. If I'm honest I have no idea what day it will ovulate one app says 15th but the other says a couple of days after I think I ovulate earlier esp as AF came a lot sooner last month.

If we were TTC again next month I would try OPKS but we're not. Will defo go for fertility testing privately as waiting another year worries me.

Do you mind me asking how old you are?

somanystars · 11/08/2020 21:53

@Kg87 It was a pack of 20!! Couldn't believe my luck, actually took it up to the counter and was like "why are these so heavily discounted??" haha. They expired on 31/07 or so, but for £2 I thought I might as well just get them anyway.

Haha oh I haven't dared buy a First Response yet, I'd be tearing it open about 5DPO 🤣 Got some cheapie strips at the ready for when the urge takes me! I know you're not meant to test early but I know for a fact that I will be 😅
