As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

@Amy259 no early surge this time or signs showing early fw? I hate the boring bit at least in the tww you know you've done what you can but the time between af and fw is sooo boring it's like waiting for a new episode of your favourite show to be released, only they've delayed it by 2 weeks and now it can't come round quickly enough!

Amy259 · 02/01/2021 12:11

Happy New Year you beautiful lot!! Delighted to be going into another year of losing the plot with this little gang 😂♥️

@TinyPuds congratulations!! That is amazing news! So pleased to see your line getting strong too. How are you feeling?

@Chimboo auch that’s the worst, but you’re right - limbo is over and it’s a fresh start! It’s good to start noticing things about our bodies, so that’s something at least!

@beckyBP I can feel your positive vibes all the way from Scotland - love it!!

@meganlea I love that you’re having a relaxed tww, that’s the dream! Excited for you, this must be the first month you’ve managed to really throw everything at your fw? So fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Nothing to report here - CD12 today so still in a bit of a boring part. Fw coming up though so going to try and DTD as much as DH goes for this week 😂 xx

meganlea · 02/01/2021 11:00

@TinyPuds congratulations!!! What a great start to the new year 👶🏼. How do you feel?? Have you told your partner? how does he feel?? We need a list of everything you did to get here haha!

I always get a mixture of nerves and excitement during the tww I know it’s something I really want but I feel like once I get a BFP my anxiety will whoosh in and be like right now it’s time to attack 😨.

I’m either 5/6dpo today, felt twinges in my ovary area last night but I’m definitely just reading my body extra carefully this time round so it could have been anything. TBH I’m feeling so relaxed I barely have time to think about the tww this week has flown by already. Been working really hard on a Uni assignment, missed the odd temp here and there I’m just not too bothered about tracking post ovulation if it happens it happens so I’m loving being able to down pints of water whenever I want, not having to time when I go to the loo etc. Making the most of this before AF comes, if she does!

@beckyBP wow I bet you get great after the 10k, we’ve only been on one long walk this Christmas break which is really bad!! Some days I’ve had chocolates for lunch lol 🙈 Oh well, it’s still Christmas!! back to normal Monday and straight back into a routine.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas break if you’ve had one and getting your feet up this weekend before we’re back too it!! Xx

Chimboo · 02/01/2021 10:55

@TinyPuds yaaaay look at that lovely line!

I feel so sick still. I woke up early to go for a run and felt like puking all the way round. What is the point in my period coming if I’m still going to feel nauseated and heartburn-y/gassy 🤣

TinyPuds · 02/01/2021 09:59

@beckyBP 9dpo today! I think I might be 10 or 11dpo though as I tested again this morning and can see a definite line!! 🤩

Excuse the yellow mark on my test haha, I wrote in gold marker but it didn’t dry so I rubbed it off and it stained them yellow!! 😆😫😫😫 looks like wee stains hahah

When is everybody testing?

Sorry to hear af came @Chimboo 😔 hopefully next month will be the one! Xxx

beckyBP · 01/01/2021 20:14

So sorry @Chimboo it's so hard when you think you see a line. Onto next month 👍🏽 enjoy a little break now whilst AF is here xx

Chimboo · 01/01/2021 19:59

So it can’t have been a line I saw because my period just arrived, early - so unlike me to be early as I have quite short cycles anyway Shock but I’m relieved this weird limbo waiting is over, and I feel like I know my body a bit better now. There’s always next month!

beckyBP · 01/01/2021 17:18

HAPPY NEW YEAR GIRLS!

Been on a LUSH 10k walk today. Starting the year how I mean to go on. Written my bucket list for the year.. obviously starting a family is number 1!

Hope you're all well?

@TinyPuds can definitely see that hun!!! How many dpo are you? Congratulations 🥳

Chimboo · 01/01/2021 12:02

@TinyPuds I can definitely see a line there!!! Star

TinyPuds · 01/01/2021 11:23

Happy New Year girlies!! Hope you enjoyed your last night of 2020 👋🏻

So I took a test this morning and to my utter disbelief I’ve got a faint line!!! What the hell!!

Do you see it too?! 😱 xxx

Our first month ttc our first
Chimboo · 30/12/2020 21:33

@TinyPuds 😂😂😂😂😂😂

@meganlea it is, isn’t it! Getting a GP appointment is like finding a unicorn in the woods round here so I’m just going to wait it out I think. Had a glass of wine this evening which helped with the “life on hold waiting” feeling.

@Amy259 you’ve really reassured me thank you Flowers

meganlea · 30/12/2020 18:35

Aww @Chimboo hope you’re okay. It’s so hard to tell what’s pregnancy symptoms and what’s pre AF! Especially if you’re not getting anything from the tests. If you can’t hold old out maybe book a Drs appointment and see if they can do a blood test? How many DPO are you now?

@TinyPuds omg I can definitely see something!! Congrats! 😂

Amy259 · 30/12/2020 18:34

@TinyPuds that made me laugh out loud 😂

@Chimboo I definitely notice all the changes in my body WAY more now that I’m paying attention to them. The first month I was ttc I was convinced I was pregnant because of it, but I must’ve just never really tuned in before. Hope this is your bfp and tomorrow’s test is darker, but if it’s not don’t worry about every month feeling like this - the waiting doesn’t necessarily get easier but I’d say the obsessing eases a bit once you get more used to post-ovulation symptoms.

TinyPuds · 30/12/2020 18:20

Hi girlies. I caved and took a test at 6dpo 👹 all the Amazon goodies have been staring at me for two days!!!!!

Pic attached - what do you think 😆

It’s a miracle! Xx

Chimboo · 30/12/2020 13:19

@DNpink82 I’m 36 soon and that’s on my mind for sure...creeps up on you doesn’t it Shock

@Amy259 it is the first month of wondering...knowing I’m not the only one makes me feel a lot better! I don’t feel “normal” but now I’m also wondering if I’ve just got a bug or something and I’m reading too much into it. Also - maybe this is normal for me before a period and I just don’t notice because I’m usually super busy or travelling for work - even this year with all the rubbish lockdowns my mind has been on my husband and worrying about him...now he’s doing great, we’re in Tier 4 so nowhere to go, and for once I’ve got time to notice what my body is doing? Who knows Confused

Amy259 · 30/12/2020 12:55

@Chimboo it’s mad the effect it has. I’m quite anxious at times too and I really don’t like things being completely out of my control. I think that’s why I obsess with learning timings/things to try etc because I feel like I’m DOING something rather than just waiting around for fate or something to decide it’s time for me to get pregnant.
It’s tough - is this your first month really trying/wondering? I promise it’s not like this every month, some months pass by and others drag. But you’re so so not alone, it sends most of us a little loopy ♥️

DNpink82 · 30/12/2020 12:40

@Chimboo I'm the same, I never wanted kids but I turned 38 in July and panicked, now it's all I can think about and I'm obsessed about getting pregnant

Chimboo · 30/12/2020 12:08

Barely there line on a first response this morning. I’m driving myself mad and getting quite upset over the whole thing, which I would never have thought I’d do in a million years. I am an anxious person that doesn’t like “unknowns”, but that being said I’m not someone who has been desperate for a child her whole life and if you’d asked me six months ago I’d have said I didn’t want one. I don’t know why I’m reacting like this and being so obsessive Sad

I can’t keep doing this every morning, I think I’ll have to assume they are actually negative and just wait and see if my period arrives.

Amy259 · 29/12/2020 21:22

@TinyPuds what a nightmare! I think lots of us have had those experiences though - I’ve had my dtd mare too!! I think it’s when you’re just so keen for it to happen and you know it has to be in that specific time frame. In my head I’m like come on come on come on let’s goooo but outwardly trying to play it cool 😂

@meganlea aww been there, the pre-dtd strops that mean there’s no way it’s happening. Why is it so complicated?!

meganlea · 29/12/2020 19:12

@TinyPuds omg what an actual mare!! There's always something that comes up isn't there when you know it needs to be done because you're in your fw! I get that with the puppy too, ours is 3 years old and if he can hear us talking upstairs and not actually sleeping he starts making these funny noises like he's trying to talk to us and tell us not to leave him on his own haha. And being hangry on top of that?! Not a good combination, hopefully you did it enough before that so you're still covered.

We've had instances when it was planned and then I've stropped and we didn't end up DTD in fertile week. One example is we went to do it and he started moaning about how tired he is, this is a tactic he usually uses to get out of DTD outside of fw so I was like, well don't break your back I'm not forcing you to DTD with me, and he was like no no it's fine I'll DTD with you, and that was it for me then lol, turned completely off, one sign that you're not up for it and it's not happening at all!!! Fw or not haha. I can be very stubborn!!

TinyPuds · 29/12/2020 18:29

Waaa I’ve been wondering the same about others feeling like DTD while TTC feels like it’s being staged @Amy259 !!

Nice to hear your experience though @meganlea it sounds similar to mine so far!!

Fiancé and I had the chat to TTC a few weeks ago, and were only ever using condoms before we decided to give it a go. So the first couple of times we DTD without them we were both left in a bit of shock at the end like OMG ITS HAPPENING hahaha. Which has made it feel different every time so far anyway. Especially outside the FW as Megan described! That just feels normal again which is nice (with the added bonus of not bothering with a condom!).

I think because we have it in the back of our minds it’s for a baby and not because we feel like it - it does take away the romance a bit, even though it’s still lovely! I’m hoping DTD feels more normal and with less purpose next month if we’re not lucky this time around. Also maybe worth noting that I’m the broodier one of the couple, my fiancé wasn’t even thinking about starting TTC any time soon until I bought it up recently! So sometimes I worry that he’s just doing it to make me happy which has made me feel like it’s a little bit staged (and some guilt!) although he’s assured me he definitely wants to have a baby now.

Bad experience with unintentional staging of DTD on the weekend..! I was in the last fertile day of my ov window on Boxing Day and we were ready and raring to DTD and remembered we had a family zoom call, so we had to do that first but said we’d go back to DTD afterwards. We ended up on the zoom call for over two hours and once it was finished my fiancé was starving but I still wanted to squeeze it in before dinner because I knew we wouldn’t feel like it afterwards and I also knew it might be the last day for it. But I didn’t realise he reeeeally wasn’t in the mood for it anymore - he gets quite hangry haha, plus it didn’t help our puppy was howling from the bottom of the stairs for us and then he actually said he didn’t like how forced it felt. It had a very different vibe to it, especially because i got a wee bit desperate and sucked all the fun out of it by bringing up that it might be our last chance this month which was the nail in the coffin for him. Learnt my lesson though because we didn’t DTD in the end (I felt quite embarrassed after the conversation actually, so was happy to just get on with distracting myself with some cooking!). So I won’t be instigating it like that again haha! I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed it if it did happen after he said all of that to be honest. Especially with our needy pup howling throughout haha 😅

Xxx

meganlea · 29/12/2020 15:46

@Amy259 no question is too TMI or nosey for this thread!! haha.

Our TTC DTD is completely different from how we usually DTD. It can feel weird, staged, even robotic sometimes, especially at first but you just get used to it. I wouldn't call it love making as such, which is quite sad as it started out as that the first month. But that first month there was too much pressure there to seduce each other and then it would cause tension because it was going back and forth is this because we want to DTD or is it because we're trying for a baby now. I mentioned before DH has a LSD and so as much as I wanted to TTC, I was sad to see his SD increase when TTC because where was the HSD before TTC? If that makes any sense? Where was this effort with me before?! haha.

Now it's more of an operation, we both just jump into bed like lets do this, not much passion at all. It's hard to explain though, it's done with love and we do have a good giggle about it and make jokes when it's 'time', so it's never awkward, but it is planned in and so feels more like a job that has to be done. Like we're there because we have a box a tick. It's funny because this past week we kept doing it the 'operational' way and then promising we'd relax the day after and DTD romantically, but then it comes around so quickly and you're like sh*t, quick, we need to have showers and then DTD before tea or before we get too tired and then romance goes out of the window yet again! I'd love to be able to say it's passionate and fantastic every time, but it's not. I'm tracking so I know when to schedule it and I keep DH up to date where I'm at so he understands when it has to happen, there's just no spontaneity there. Outside fw it goes back to normal, which I prefer because then I can differentiate between DTD out of love, and DTD with a motive. A bit complex, but it seems to be what's working for us at the moment.

Amy259 · 29/12/2020 15:00

@meganlea yeah I think it doesn’t matter which day it is - you’ve definitely covered it! Here’s a potential TMI/nosey question for you.. after your chat then going on to dtd so much, did it ever feel weird/staged? Once (and thankfully only once!) we squeezed in dtd on a fw day back when we first started ttc and it felt a bit weird? I can’t describe it... but it was obv we were doing it because of timing not necessarily wanting too and we were in a rush too so couldn’t really take our time to get into it. I wouldn’t want it to happen again but not sure how to plan dtd so much for a week or so without it feeling staged!

meganlea · 29/12/2020 14:53

@Amy259 yeah it seems that way, although premom app will probably say it was today. Though I'm not bothered what exact day ovulation was as long as I can pinpoint roundabout I'm happy with that. Omg yes that would be so annoying if you missed it on that ONE day!! I suppose you could test the day after and pinpoint it to at least 2 days haha.

@Chimboo oooo fingers crossed. It sounds likely that you are pregnant!! Maybe do another to be sure? And I'd say if it's positive, now is the perfect reason to pop open the champagne (and just have only 1 or 2 glasses, obviously ;-) )

Amy259 · 29/12/2020 14:15

@Chimboo just make sure you don’t drink too much whilst you’re holding pee in!!

Oh man, that’s so annoying. But for the best reason! Now hopefully you can open it to celebrate in about 9 months haha.
