As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

@Amy259 😂 it is indeed! Made me lol!

Hmm it's so strange.. it probably happens every month tbf and I just don't notice it.

@SalemsPot22 how many dpo are you? Maybe give it a couple of days and do another

SalemsPot22 · 07/01/2021 17:17

I had a really squinty shadow of a line on a frer today. Not sure how to feel about it! Think it might be an evap but it’s still there 4 hours later.

Amy259 · 07/01/2021 17:09

@beckyBP yeah for sure - it’s much harder for them! Pardon the pun..

Hmm don’t think so? Think it’s just general shedding? Not 100% though!

beckyBP · 07/01/2021 17:06

@Amy259 ah bless him. Tbf.. it's harder for men.. they have to actually perform! 😂

@meganlea you're spot on. The thought of a BFP gives me butterflies and actually makes me anxious. I've invested so much into TTC.. I wouldn't know what the hell to do next 😂

Question.. does the uterus lining shed from one side each month? I'm crampy on my right side. Can't remember if this is normal for me 🤔

meganlea · 07/01/2021 09:28

@Amy259 aww well fingers crossed it shows some life in the morning! And yeah I think seeing BFN will motivate him more next time, I was like that with DH, you can't be surprised when AF comes when you didn't make the effort like I did. And this month he's managed to sort himself. Lets hope it lasts!

I am having the odd cramp and twinge this morning but do you know what, I have no idea if it's pre af, pregnancy symptom or just that I had a really really hot curry for tea last night and it's warning me what's to come later today 😂😂

meganlea · 07/01/2021 09:24

@beckyBP Yeah it's a softer blow seeing AF come than a negative test first and then another blow when AF actually does come....I think that's why I don't test, also because I'm terrified it could actually be a BFP, as much as I want it SO bad, I just know I'm going to freak the F out when it does happen! lol. Can't win!! :)

Amy259 · 07/01/2021 09:23

@beckyBP DH wasn’t feeling well so we didn’t last night but he seemed to feel quite bad about that.. which is a new one! If anything, if bfn this month he’ll probably be more aware that it’s because we didn’t dtd enough which is still a positive - he’s actually recognising it and I’m hoping it’ll wake him up a little!

@meganlea fingers crossed I see it tomorrow. It’s high during the day but staying low first thing. Oh well, can only wait I suppose! So much bloody waiting.

Sorry to hear you’re both fairly certain af is coming.. I know we say it to each other every month, but you never know. The achy legs did make me laugh!
Yeah, I hear that - I’m so tired! All this learning has me fried 😂

beckyBP · 07/01/2021 09:20

*tempted not tested 🙄

beckyBP · 07/01/2021 09:20

@meganlea do you know what, no! However.. I only ever seem to be tested the day before/day of AF. I do have 1 test here but really can't face another negative!

Yeah hurry up weekend! No work and the TWW is over 🙌🏽

meganlea · 07/01/2021 09:15

@beckyBP awww no way haha! Have you been tempted to test yet? Not gunna lie, if I had early detection tests laying around I'd have used them by now 😂 so glad I don't!! Just want it to be the weekend already so I know 100%!!

beckyBP · 07/01/2021 08:48

@meganlea and YES! The weekend cannot come soon enough. I'm shattered from this week. Like you say, after a nice Christmas break I got used to lay ins and not using my brain 😂

beckyBP · 07/01/2021 08:47

@Amy259 keep going doll. I'm sure it'll happen really soon! Are you still DTD?

@meganlea yay to your LP!! That's good news! I'm very similar to you.. feeling very normal AF. Crampy, achy boobs, tired.

You'll laugh girls. I got up this morning and was like 'ooo my thighs are super achy, that's a good sign..' then I remember I did a full body HIIT session last night so that would be why 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

meganlea · 07/01/2021 08:40

@Amy259 just re read my message back and my god so many repeated sentences and words that don't make sense.....but I'm sure you'll know what I mean lol. Sorry, I had a sh!t sleep and haven't even been wake a full hour yet 😂

meganlea · 07/01/2021 08:36

@Amy259 aww bless you. Don't give up just yet, remember mine happened late morning. You're only on your third day, remember mine came mid-late morning on the third day!! My peak was CD22 @ 6pm and then I noticed a shift on CD25 @ 10am. I'd say if it's not here by tomorrow mornings check then keep an eye out for that 2nd peak. But deffo temp check every couple of hours today! If you do it now you've been up and about for a bit this morning already, make a mental note and you'll have something to compare it to for the rest of the day. Have you been sleeping okay? No unbroken sleep or anything?

I'm 10/11DPO today and having a lot of different symptoms. Boobs are a bit sorer today but nothing out of the ordinary, I've been absolutely starving yesterday and this morning even though I'm eating enough, weird pains/cramps in all kinds of places! All typical pre AF symptoms for me. Temp 36.87 this morning so AF won't be here today. Which I'm over the moon with because it means even if she comes today or tomorrow I've had a normal-ish LP which has been worrying me, so I won't even be mad when she gets here.

This weekend can't come quick enough though. That first week back at work after a nice break is a killer.

Amy259 · 07/01/2021 08:17

@Sakomondo welcome!
I started a new job this week and for me the choice wasn’t there to stay in my current job and keep ttc as I lost my business in the pandemic, but I did go through the uncertainty as to whether or not I should stop ttc until I qualify for Mat pay. I’m glad we didn’t though, I’m on cycle 6 and who knows how long it could take - I honestly would just live your life.

@heybabes I know what you mean, you do everything right that first month and expect it to work, why wouldn’t it?! Then it doesn’t and you feel robbed. Fingers crossed you won’t be waiting too long!

@beckyBP how are you feeling this morning? @meganlea and you - any change in temp?

Still no temp spike for me, feeling a bit deflated by it. Will keep testing LH in case I peak again this cycle.

meganlea · 06/01/2021 17:50

@beckyBP 100% I feel like you get over one hurdle and the next ones right there waiting for you. Like I worried about not getting an LH peak for days and weeks, yes it’s here, no to worry about whether my temperature will rise, yea it did woohoo, now to pray and hope my LP is long enough for egg to implant. There’s just so much that can go wrong and that can be wrong with you when TTC and we’re all a bit obsessive anyway so every minor detail must go perfectly 😂😂

beckyBP · 06/01/2021 17:42

@meganlea it's so easy to worry about anything isn't it. Like the LP or like me worrying why I have light cramps throughout my TWW! And sometimes google is your worst enemy 🙈 x

beckyBP · 06/01/2021 17:41

@heybabes hey Hun! Welcome to the club 😂

I can safely say we're all exactly the same. The obsession must Bundt every built into us I swear. I also was convinced I'd get pregnant first cycle as my mum did each time but that didn't happen and I struggled!

So sorry you're so heartbroken. My only advice would be take it all in its stride and try not to let it consume your life. Don't delay things 'in case' you're pregnant. Carry on and you can always rearrange stuff when you do get pregnant and it will certainly be worth it then!

Hopefully AF doesn't come for you and you get the best news but honestly, from experience when AF comes for me I'm gutted for a short while then I'm ready to get back on it again xx

heybabes · 06/01/2021 17:05

Hi guys

Hope you don't mind me joining too! I've almost finished my first cycle (13 DPO, all BFNs so far. No AF yet but I'm not holding out hope).

I'm 28 and my boyfriend is 37. This is our first try and first baby together. At first I was a little bit apprehensive as I am a bit younger and didn't know whether we should wait another 6 months, but then thought it could take longer than that so why not start this month just in case it doesn't happen straightaway? Ever since then, even though I wanted to delay TTC, I have been OBSESSED. Tracking ovulation, testing from like 4DPO, desperate to be pregnant. So ridiculous.

And the worst thing is, for some reason I just expected I would get pregnant this month even though I know it takes longer than that for most. I thought well, we DTD every day (or at least every other day anyway) and did around my FW, we've both experienced pregnancy somewhat previously (he has a son from previous marriage, I had an accidental pregnancy - literally ONE accident - when I was at university and chose not to proceed) so I assumed we'd be ok.

Now 13 DPO and looking very unlikely, I feel heartbroken. Or like something is wrong. I have irregular periods but have been tested for PCOS and other gynae problems and it's all good. It looks like (from using OPKs and temping) that I have ovulated too. And the fact that I got pregnant from one accident previously but haven't been able to from DTD every day... I feel so frustrated.

Especially with this new lockdown and finding out my mum had cancer back in the summer, I was hoping that a pregnancy would be the good news and positivity my family and I could concentrate on.

Anyway, I'm going to try and be more positive and less obsessed next month (and absolutely no early testing!). Cycle 2 potentially starting tomorrow when my AF finally shows up and hoping for some better luck this time! Good luck to everyone else :)

meganlea · 06/01/2021 14:00

@Amy259 Oh god I've just re read my reply from this morning as well when you said Sunday and I fully believed today was Tuesday! Which is why I was like yeah plentyyyy of time! just DTD again haha. Christmas has proper knocked us. 😂 Fingers crossed he's up for it tonight. You're only mid week and you've had a night off so he might already have it in his mind to DTD again tonight.

Hi @Sakomondo.... good luck for upcoming fw, hope you manage to cover it! I want a new job but there's barely any within my company we're having a recruitment freeze and I really wanted to go up a step before ttc but also don't want to put my life on hold because who knows how long I'd be waiting for the freeze to end!

@beckyBP I definitely will do, just taken my temp and it's 37.06 so at least I can relax knowing it's unlikely AF will come today. I'm trying to measure how long my luteal phase is too so the longer AF holds off the better I'll feel as I'm worried it's too short.

beckyBP · 06/01/2021 13:45

@meganlea totally!! Like you say, a chat won't hurt will it 😊 keep me up to date with you!

@Amy259 amazing! Glad your DH has been so good 👏🏽👏🏽 keep us up to date with how it goes.

Totally get you on the job front! I'm enjoying mine though, are you?

Hey @Sakomondo good luck with your fw! My previous role was made redundant so I didn't have much choice. 😂 i could have taken a role I didn't want for less money within the company but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and it's definitely paid off as it's a much better job.

Sakomondo · 06/01/2021 13:37

Hi everyone! Been lurking on here for a while so thought I’d say hello. We’re on cycle 3 now with fertile week next week but trying not to get my hopes up too much.

I was surprised some of you are starting new jobs while ttc. I’ve resigned myself to the fact I can’t change jobs for now while I’m ttc. Puts all the more pressure on as I’d potentially be looking around otherwise! Good luck in your new jobs! 👏

Amy259 · 06/01/2021 13:33

Also peak day was Monday not Sunday - I’m getting my days mixed up!

Amy259 · 06/01/2021 13:32

@beckyBP I know - I feel like there’s SO much to learn, made so much harder by not being able to just ask the person next to me where to find a file or how to sort something etc. My line manager calls every day which is great, I just store up my questions for him haha.

@meganlea I did a quick google (obviously) on my lunch and most of the stuff I can find say that the slower rise in temp doesn’t indicate when ovulation was, you’re more likely to see it 2 days later anyway if testing in the morning which made me feel better! So probably (hopefully) see it tomorrow.

Will dtd tonight if the notion is there from DH - he doesn’t know I’ve peaked, I just told him on Saturday this week was important and he’s made way more effort than normal so don’t want to do or say anything to put pressure or a negative vibe on it when he’s clearly tried.

meganlea · 06/01/2021 12:30

@beckyBP Yeah you do right. Unless I get a symptom I've never had with PMS before like nausea or being sick then I just can't bring myself to test. Aww bless you. Hope you're okay. It won't hurt just having a chat with them!
