Hi guys
Hope you don't mind me joining too! I've almost finished my first cycle (13 DPO, all BFNs so far. No AF yet but I'm not holding out hope).
I'm 28 and my boyfriend is 37. This is our first try and first baby together. At first I was a little bit apprehensive as I am a bit younger and didn't know whether we should wait another 6 months, but then thought it could take longer than that so why not start this month just in case it doesn't happen straightaway? Ever since then, even though I wanted to delay TTC, I have been OBSESSED. Tracking ovulation, testing from like 4DPO, desperate to be pregnant. So ridiculous.
And the worst thing is, for some reason I just expected I would get pregnant this month even though I know it takes longer than that for most. I thought well, we DTD every day (or at least every other day anyway) and did around my FW, we've both experienced pregnancy somewhat previously (he has a son from previous marriage, I had an accidental pregnancy - literally ONE accident - when I was at university and chose not to proceed) so I assumed we'd be ok.
Now 13 DPO and looking very unlikely, I feel heartbroken. Or like something is wrong. I have irregular periods but have been tested for PCOS and other gynae problems and it's all good. It looks like (from using OPKs and temping) that I have ovulated too. And the fact that I got pregnant from one accident previously but haven't been able to from DTD every day... I feel so frustrated.
Especially with this new lockdown and finding out my mum had cancer back in the summer, I was hoping that a pregnancy would be the good news and positivity my family and I could concentrate on.
Anyway, I'm going to try and be more positive and less obsessed next month (and absolutely no early testing!). Cycle 2 potentially starting tomorrow when my AF finally shows up and hoping for some better luck this time! Good luck to everyone else :)
