As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

Hi all. DH and I will be on month 2 of TTC. Currently on AF and due to ovulate in 2 weeks. Taking folic acid. Got PCOS so will see how long it takes....

Miljea · 03/08/2020 23:06

An small but deeply contested point, I know. But 'partner' v 'husband'?

You can now get a hetero civil partnership if you don't want the patriarchal associations of 'husband'.

kittenpeak · 03/08/2020 23:04

That was meant to say every OTHER day!

kittenpeak · 03/08/2020 23:04

Hi @beckyBP my husband and I conceived when we did SMEP (I mean I'm not saying it was THAT was caused a baby, but the first month we tried it I got pregnant!)

Keep at it. Sperm need time to recover so I think there is logic to doing it every day!

purplejungle · 03/08/2020 22:55

It might take a while but keep up the folic acid. I started to lose hope and became lax with folic acid and then panicked when I got pregnant 🙈. All was fine in the end!

rosiej95 · 03/08/2020 22:52

@kittenpeak I've seen a lot of people mentioning the ovulation sticks, I think I'm going to enjoy for the first couple of months & then maybe try those afterwards?
I think like you say it's all very confusing and if they are easier to read may give those ones a try, Thankyou :)

@Ems2111

Good luck to you too! 🥰
Hopefully it won't take us to long to understand it all :)
It's so nice to come on here & speak to others that are ttc too!

@beckyBP
Hi lovely 😊
Ahh sorry to hear covid ruined your wedding plans :/
Im sorry, I'm not massively clued up on a few of the words 🙈 what's SMEP?

I'm still waiting for AF to disappear, hopefully not much longer now 🤞
I'm not massively into tea & I don't like coffee, I have the occasional cup of tea when I'm cold or fancy one but other then that I'm allright when it comes to caffeine.
Im trying to eat healthier do a bit more excersise & cut out the alcohol tho 😁 x

Hey ladies 👋🏽

Hope it's ok to join. Fiancé and I (should be husband.. covid ruined that) are on our second month TTC baby no. 1.

We didn't try as such last month but we certainly didn't not try.

This month I'm doing OPKs (which I find really confusing) vitamins and supplements and also trying to lower caffeine.

Also, trying to do SMEP. I don't fully get it but giving it a whirl. Also, clearly putting way too much pressure on myself as even writing this down it seems a LOT 😅.

I planned to be SUPER chilled about the whole thing.. yeah that didn't work out.

This is my vitamin / supplements supply

I came off the mini pill in feb and have been experiencing the same cycle lengths (the 45 day one in April was very frustrating!) I’m due on I suppose in the next week... but I don’t really understand much so far! Haha but good luck and good luck to everyone on the thread! 🥰Biscuit

kittenpeak · 03/08/2020 19:06

Hi @rosiej95 it's really exciting to hear that you are TTC!

I was having unprotected sex with my husband for about 6 months (not paying attention to dates, basically playing the sex lottery) and properly TTC for 4. I must say it was getting stressful towards the end (I am 33 and he is 38). We both cut down on drinking (me more) and he was taking Wellman and I was taking folic acid.

I also used ovulation sticks, as I didn't think an app could be accurate enough. Some may argue it makes life more stressful using them, but I would have found it stressful without, as I know I was then having sex on the correct day, so you might want to consider those? Everyone is different tho! I used clearblue. They're a bit more expensive but basically tell you that you have a low chance, high chance, or very high chance of conceiving on any given day.

Good luck, and make sure to enjoy yourself!

@rosiej95 we were actually the opposite way my husband has been ‘ready’ for a while but I was putting it off.. now I’ve come off my pill and I’m obsessed!

elh06 · 03/08/2020 19:01

Hello @maudesid I haven’t tried taking my temperature yet but I might join that one! I’m not sure if I ovulated this month I got two semi faint lines on an opk last Saturday and Sunday and then nothing in the days after that so maybe my peak was a day or so before hand if I had one.. think I’ll be due on this weekend too (if my cycle is around 28 days so we will see!). Which LH tests have you been using?

maudesid · 03/08/2020 18:19

Hey @elh06 I'm exactly the same, I'm using natural cycles and pretty much every day googling what my temperatures mean not to mention I've had no positive LH tests which is stressing me out but trying not to worry! I came off the pill in Feb and cycles have mostly been 32 days except one 45 day! AF due this weekend I think but who knows!

rosiej95 · 03/08/2020 10:25

I can imagine tbf. it took a while for my partner to be ready & i told him i would be chilled but now af is disappearing I'm wondering how easy it is to be chilled haha!

I said the exact same thing the other day!! I promise myself I would be relaxed about it and just go with the flow but it has become quite the obsession already, I find myself googling ‘symptoms’ pretty much everyday! X

rosiej95 · 02/08/2020 20:42

Hey :)

It is all so confusing isn't it,
You spend most of your teens avoiding pregnancy, to find out when your older that there's a small window for it to happen 🙈
We're 25 & 26 & have been together 10 years.
It's so nice to hear from others that are ttc too! :) xxx

Hi both Smile husband and I trying for our first too, I came off my pill mid June so trying to work out my cycles. Nobody knows we are trying either so I enjoy reading through the threads on here! I’ve been taking folic acid, increasing exercise and cutting down alcohol to a minimum so far! X

maudesid · 02/08/2020 18:55

Hi @rosiej95 my husband and I are ttc our first, we are trying to take a casual approach to start with. Have been using natural cycles for just over a month to try and understand my cycle but still pretty confused about it!
I have endometriosis so have always been a bit nervous that it may take a while. How old are you and your OH? We are both 28
