As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

@beckyBP oh my godddd!! AMAZING news! Congratulations girl!! How are you feeling?! Xxxx

beckyBP · 11/01/2021 07:42

So.. af still wasn't here this morning and..

Our first month ttc our first
meganlea · 10/01/2021 20:23

@Katelyn99 Aww no, hopefully it's just too early to tell, maybe give it another 2 days and then try again!

@beckyBP as if AF hasn't come yet....she's playing games for sure like if you're coming don't bloody delay it jheez!

Oh mums definitely know, I say that but throughout my adult life whenever I say I'm tired or have stomach ache she's like you're pregnant. So she's likely to have guessed if I didn't tell her anyway haha. But yeah I have a very big but tight knit family/extended family and my sisters can't hold their own wee so my whole family knows now and a few close friends that knew we were trying. I've warned them all though that it's still v early days so don't get too excited just yet.

Just read your msg about going to the Drs too, if you're gunna do that I'd send your partner to his too if possible, get his swimmers looked at as the book Amy recommended I'm only one chapter in but it said 40% of fertility problems are down to male factors so if you can can rule him out then at least you don't have to worry about his side of things! xx

@Amy259 funny you should say that I've done 6 tests so far and will be doing another tomorrow. I can't help it I just need to check it's still happening haha.

Aww brilliant, at least you know you're in the game though. And it's weird that you feel like that this month. Maybe you're just mentally preparing yourself for the worst, or maybe you've really learnt to let the stress of the tww go, which is really good either way, it might work wonders if you're body is in relax mode. Hopefully it sticks, just keep doing whatever you're doing. xx

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 20:21

@beckyBP ps I would def tell fibs about when we started ttc but had to get my coil out at the hosp so they know 🙈

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 20:20

@beckyBP hahaha no I’m just crazy!! Maca is supposed to help sperm health and libido, my DH’s has dropped and he’s getting down about it (and it’s not ideal obv for ttc) so cant hurt to try! It’s herbal, and even if it’s just a placebo for him it’s worth a shot.

The guaifenesin stuff is basically cough medicine (tablets) but with no other ingredients like paracetamol etc, specifically for mucus loosening, so it helps your body produce thinner/healthier mucus everywhere! So it makes your cervical canal suuuper ideal for sperm. I’m quite dry (tmi) and preseed is great but it can be a bit much? And sort of rules out surprise bd so I wanted something easier. I bought it on amazon and just took it during my fw and noticed such a difference, I was really impressed xx

beckyBP · 10/01/2021 20:06

@Amy259 totally know what you mean. I was going to be naughty and say it'd had been a year 🙊 I just want to know if something is wrong. Of course your feelings are valid and also this is such a stressful process!!

Ah interesting! Maybe not then. I thought I read it but I've read a lot of stuff 😅

You are literally the holy grail of TTC! I haven't even heard of these things but I'm going to look them up now! Xx

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 20:01

@beckyBP I thought about phoning the doctor too.. but I worried they’d think I was a pest getting in touch after 6 cycles in the middle of a pandemic 🙈 which is daft to think about because my feelings are so valid but it’s just the way my head works!!

Pregnacare didn’t do anything to my cycles, two months I added omega 3 and that shortened them but I’m not complaining. I’ve just had maca root delivered for DH to take which he was keen on but I’m not sure I’ll take it as it can mess up cycles. I also took guaifenesin for my cm during my fw and holy smokes what a difference 😂😂

beckyBP · 10/01/2021 19:54

@Amy259 I TOTALLY feel the same.. I was Googling IVF processes last night 🙈 it's just not knowing isn't it. That's why I'm booking a DTD appointment now. Although it's early..

AF was due today. My cycle is normal 27/27 days and today is 29.

However, I started taking pregnacare and didn't it mess with your girls cycle lengths? Or maybe someone else said that 🤔

Normally I'd have tested by now but I feel really pre af like and had a bit of spotting Friday so I'm confident she's on her way.

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 19:50

@beckyBP yeah maybe, feels really weird. I almost feel resigned that we won’t be able to without help? But not in a down way, more in a “why stress about something you can’t control?” way. Ask me that in a week though 😂

When are you due af? Are you regular enough to know? It can be about a 3 day range for me so it’s always a guess, which is a pain xx

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 19:48

@meganlea thank you, that was lovely♥️ you girls definitely help me through every cycle so I’m glad you feel the same!!

Oh man, what a rollercoaster - bless you. I’m sure I’ll be the exact same.. tbh I don’t think I’ll believe it until I see it! And no doubt I’ll still be testing every morning 😂

That’s so funny it arrived today, yeah give it a ready then spread the love by passing it on, good idea.

Yesss it did, spiked the morning of 3dpo so looks like I did ov which is delightful! Not feeling confident though, not sure why!! Xx

beckyBP · 10/01/2021 19:46

@Amy259 maybe that's a good thing. Maybe you're more relaxed.

All good thanks doll, went for a long walk earlier then had a nap. Still no AF 🤔 but I have the feeling of any second you know. Have done all day. Strange.

@meganlea eeek so excited. So is it just your mum and partner you've told. I think I'd have to tell my mum too you know! I think she'd know. They do don't they mums!

Xxx

Katelyn99 · 10/01/2021 19:39

@Amy259 Thank you, fingers crossed for you too!

@meganlea I tested this morning but BFN, I'm still holding out hope that it was just too early though! I've noticed today an increased sense of smell so hopefully that's a good sign 🤞🏻

meganlea · 10/01/2021 19:29

@beckyBP thank you hun!! It still doesn't feel real. Sorry to hear that AF is on her way. Hopefully she's tricking you and isn't really going to show. But if she does, have a few days to sit in your feelings so you're ready to go again. You've got this! I hate when people get pregnant by accident too....because it's never really an 'accident' is it....I might have believed that before TTC, but now I'm like....what did you think would happen having unprotected sex?!?!

@Katelyn99 Thank you so much! Fingers crossed for you!! Have you tested yet or are you holding out a bit longer?....it's so hard when it's just one long waiting game!

@Amy259 Yeah but you've been brilliant and helped a lot of people in this thread, and not just with information but emotionally too!! X

The book you recommended arrived yesterday ha....An impatient womans guide to getting pregnant... typical! I'm still going to read it though and then give it to a friend who is trying as it looks so useful!

I think I'm still in shock tbh, I've been up and down a bit, feeling on top of the world and then I've burst in to tears a few times too when my anxiety just comes out of no where because it's really happening now and I'm also petrified. It's going to be a longgg 8 months. No real symptoms yet either just weird movements that feel like cramps/bellyache but don't hurt like cramps or bellyache, if that makes sense.

How are you feeling? Did your temp increase in the end? Going by your last message I'm hoping it definitely did, eeek! The early stages of the tww are the WORST. At least this time next week you can test!! So I hope this next week goes really quickly for you!! x

Amy259 · 10/01/2021 15:35

@beckyBP yeah for sure, at least with lockdown the pregnancy and birth announcements are all via text it call, much easier than dealing with it in person.

I’m okay thank you, currently 5dpo and feel a bit weird this cycle - normally by now I’m starting to wonder but I have this weird calm feeling that this definitely isn’t my month?! Hard to explain but it’s like I won’t be surprised with a bfn at all. This is the first month I’ve felt like this, it’s weird. Not negative or down or anything, just have this feeling it’s not my month but that I’m okay?! Strange!

How are you doing today? Any sign of af? Xx

beckyBP · 09/01/2021 20:48

@Amy259 thanks doll that was SO lush. That's made me feel better already 🥰 as soon as AF comes and I have my little sulk I'll be fine.

Saaame. I hate that I hate it too. But it's not that we're not happy for them we're just sad for ourselves and that's ok too!!

How are you doing?? xx

Amy259 · 09/01/2021 16:54

@beckyBP ahh sorry to hear that. Let yourself feel crappy for a bit, it’s allowed - you’re the most positive human when it comes to this so I have no doubt that in a couple of days you’ll be back to bossing it again, but it’s good to wallow sometimes - let yourself feel crampy for a wee day or so then you’ll pick yourself right back up again ♥️

I hate that too now, and I hate that I hate it because I don’t mean to feel resentment at all.
My husband’s best friend and his wife welcomed their beautiful baby girl on Thursday and the photos make my heart burst with happiness for them, but also make it hurt a bit - I can’t wait until that goes away!

beckyBP · 09/01/2021 16:36

@Amy259 I'm pretty confident AF will be here tonight. feeling pretty crappy. Someone I know just got pregnant accidentally. Stories like that really annoy me!

But I'll be fine! Going to buy that bloody expensive clear blue ovulation detector 😂

Amy259 · 09/01/2021 16:26

@meganlea aww thank you my girl, but it’s all legit just from obsessing about needing to know every detail 😂 and this better be the year, if I’m not pregnant by December I’ll have lost the plot!! 😂😂 how are you today?

@beckyBP how are you doing?

@Katelyn99 ahh 6-9 DPO always feel SO LONG dont they? Fingers crossed for you this month 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Katelyn99 · 09/01/2021 15:59

@meganlea Congratulations!! That's brilliant news 😊

I'm 7/8dpo today and have been having light cramps for a couple days so I'm desperate to test!

beckyBP · 09/01/2021 13:04

@meganlea yes girl 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 SO SO happy for you! How lovely to have your husbands reaction of video too. eeeeeek! Aw this made me smile. Xxx

meganlea · 08/01/2021 20:43

@Amy259 thank you my lovely. This thread has been life these past few months and you’ve been a godsend you’re a walking book of TTC info and tips so tysm for all your help! I’ll deffo be sticking around and lurking... I can’t wait for you to get yours, fingers crossed this is THE year!! Xx

Amy259 · 08/01/2021 20:37

@meganlea omggg!! Congratulations! I’m SO HAPPY for you - that’s such amazing news ♥️♥️♥️

Don’t go abandoning us now, make sure you stick around and keep in touch!! Xx

meganlea · 08/01/2021 19:54

Hi all, I come with some bloody brilliant news!! 😃

I tested this morning after DH went to work with my cheapo stick from B&M and lo and behold... a BFP!! After an initial OMG what!!? I was literally testing to rule it out so I didn’t spend my weekend thinking about it. After a quick FaceTime with my mum I calmed TF down and got really excited and felt unusually calm?! Waited until DH got home at 2pm and surprised him with the test and he was smiling like a Cheshire Cat! Got a cute little reaction video in too to look back on.

I’m trying not to get too excited just yet because I’m worried it could be a chemical. I’ve attached a photo of some tests I’ve done. I’ve tested 4 times today (one was a clear blue which said 1-2 weeks pregnant) 1st was FMU but the 2nd one down on the photo was after a lot of water and only holding my pee in for 50 minutes....still a bit worried though! Going to see how it progresses in the morning. 3rd was just now after a 2 hour hold maybe more? I’ve bought a few more tests and I’m going to test tomorrow, Sunday and Monday and if they’re still positive then, I’m going to call my GP.

Still in shock! can’t believe it, but feel dead lucky. Wishing for a sticky baby!! Hope this thread is going to have a real baby surge this year, sending lots of love and hope and prayers your way girls xxx

Our first month ttc our first
Amy259 · 08/01/2021 16:40

@heybabes ahh sorry to hear that. This might sound weird, but I swear the first month af came was actually hardest for me - I fully believed that because we did everything right it would of course happen! So when it doesn’t the first time, I think the disappointment hits harder?

You’re right - you’ll know so much more about your body and your cycle now, and that’s great. Also brilliant that you know you’re ovulating, know what to look for with bbt, and that your LP seems a good length. All positives!

Wine tonight, a weekend of indulgence or pampering plus not torturing yourself at every twinge, worrying about whether or not your pregnant and I promise by the start of next week you’ll just be ready to take on the next cycle! ♥️

heybabes · 08/01/2021 15:50

AF showed up today. This is the first unsuccessful cycle for me and not sure how to deal with it. Of course I have the “what’s wrong with me - We had sex every day and I ovulated!!” But also glad it’s the start of a new cycle and I can not be stressed for a bit and have some wine this weekend!!

I’m also glad as it’s the first time I’ve tracked ovulation and used BBT and it seems to all make sense - 35 day cycle and 14 day luteal phase.

I also started trying on CD15 last month so this will be the first full month I am trying so I am looking forward to learning more about my body and hopefully closer to getting that BFP!
