I haven't tried acupuncture, but I swore that a course of reflexology helped me conceive my first child.

Sleeeeeepy · 02/10/2020 09:20

Hi @Bluemoon06 I've not tried acupuncture but I've heard really good things. I'm terrified of needles so not one for me!

When are you going to test @Keepeas ? Let us know how you get on! I've been testing for days and I'm 9dpo, I have zero willpower! I feel like AF is on the way but have made it to CD22 which is a massive improvement on the last cycle of 17 days

Hey! This is my first ever comment on MN...woohoo. I was wondering if anyone is trying acupuncture to aid with fertility? I’ve been looking into this and have a call with an acupuncturist tommorow.

Trying4mylastmiracle · 01/10/2020 15:51

@Keepeas lol that made me smile a bit I do that time to time where I seem to obsess a bit then think nope snap out of its not easy but I know what you mean fingers crossed for you me I’m out I think and probably will be out next month as his working away

Keepeas · 01/10/2020 13:36

@3andout sorry to hear that. Hope you get clarity quickly, and obviously fingers crossed it isn't actually over ☹

Keepeas · 01/10/2020 13:33

😱 I'm 10dpo today and obsessing over every cramp and potential symptom. I'm so busy at work its really distracting me, but I just can't think about anything else. This is the worst 2ww in ages 😫 I had spotting on 9dpo with my LO, so fairly sure I'm out, although I guess there's no guarantee it would be the same a 2nd time. Just wishing my life away at the moment.

Trying4mylastmiracle · 30/09/2020 21:53

@Sleeeeeepy oh god that sounds a bit scary 6 days I can see why you thaught about miscarriage fingers crossed I don’t get the start and stopping as it will confuse me even more I’m trying to keep up with my body signals Its hard the side effects of coming off the pill mimicks pregnacy symptoms had backache ,nausea and all sorts then my period came it can build your hopes up oh I don’t know what to do il just wait for my next period instead see what happens then think il wait

Sleeeeeepy · 30/09/2020 21:37

Hi @Trying4mylastmiracle It was six days including heavy days and the whole range of colours you'd expect (sorry if tmi)

This time when I came off the pill I had really erratic bleeding here and there for a bit, and I've had a couple of periods which stopped and then started up again a couple of days later and deffo not pregnant.

I think if you're not sure it's good to test, but I know some people prefer to wait, it's just last time I didn't find out til I was 7/8 weeks so that was a bit of a shocker!

Trying4mylastmiracle · 30/09/2020 21:22

@Sleeeeeepy that’s interesting like a full blown period how many days so do you recommend testing after a weird period because towards the end before coming off the mini pill i missed a few pills so thaught I was fine because I had no period then I came off the pill started feeling weird dreaming messed up dreams lol I can’t even talk about them that’s how bad they are then had my 3 days period I’m normally 5 then thaught it must this withdrawal bleeding and the dreams stopped then noticed they back I’m dreaming again twice in a row which I put down to hormones still lingering now I’m sat here like mmmh maybe I should grab a test next week just to put my mind at ease

Sleeeeeepy · 30/09/2020 18:51

@3andout I hope all is OK lovely. I know quite a few people who had an early bleed, I had a full on period which apparently wasn't a period with DS2. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow x

Thanks ladies, I'm going to go into the epu tomorrow, they are running a walk in between 8:30 and 11am Monday to Friday. I'm trying not to be hopeful and equally trying not to be pessimistic.... Hopefully they will be able to take bloods or something.

Highlandmama · 30/09/2020 14:40

@3andout sorry to hear this 😐 that’s such a shame. This whole TTC thing is so hard sometimes.

Don’t want to give anyone false hope, and wasn’t sure whether to share this, but you can have light bleeding in early pregnancy and be ok. Had 2 weeks bleeding with DS from week 5-7. Nobody could really give me a reason why. Was sure it was another mis. But no. My friend had bleeding for weeks with both her pregnancies early on too.

AF on the way out for me so back to it again! Must remember to get on the OPKs early this month, and not lose track of time...

Virtual (COVID-secure?!) hugs to those who are struggling a bit this week x

Trying4mylastmiracle · 30/09/2020 12:18

@3andout

Hi ladies, well it looks like we are back to it, started bleeding today. Hope every one is OK?
@3andout I’m sorry this is happening but as you said back at it again you can only try and hope for the best @Internetaddictgirl cheers for the info about the seeds sorry you feel a bit down I know it sucks that’s why I’m not really thinking about much we dtd during ovulation we don’t talk about it much I just stopped the pill he said are we trying before you tie your tubes I said not really he said wait a year then decide I know his buying himself time to see if a miracle happens it’s hard 😊
3andout · 30/09/2020 11:02

Hi ladies, well it looks like we are back to it, started bleeding today.
Hope every one is OK?

CC81 · 30/09/2020 08:17

Thanks @selina37! 😊

selina37 · 29/09/2020 20:45

I mean after AF and before ovulation, so you can still try that month!

selina37 · 29/09/2020 20:10

@CC81 @claireb7rg oops sorry! 😂
Defo worth having it done. I was unlucky in that my test came the day or so after I ovulated.

If you're lucky, you can get it done after AF and before period.

Don't worry about having a month off though! It actually gave me a chance to breathe and restart if you like.

Highlandmama · 28/09/2020 21:05

@Internetaddictgirl such a shame. Sad to hear this. Hope you are doing ok. x

claireb7rg · 28/09/2020 19:14

Thanks was confused for a minute then 😂 couldn't work out what I was meant to have asked lol

CC81 · 28/09/2020 19:08

Thanks so much @selina37 (it was me who asked, not Claire! Wink)

The hospital fertility team mentioned it to me as an option, as I've been referred to them. They said there'd be a wait, but I think it's worth booking (to make sure we've done everything we can).

I like the idea of the scan, too, as a 'second opinion' to compare with the private one. The latter showed that my womb and ovaries are completely normal, but a low number of antral follicles (not a surprise).

The ONLY thing that concerns me is missing a month of TTC... I guess it'd be okay if I timed it to be right after AF and before ovulation! But with NHS appointments I doubt I can be picky.

selina37 · 28/09/2020 18:53

@claireb7rg

Yes my dye test was through the nhs.

I was going to book it privately but the clinic told me I could get it free, and that my gp would have to do the referral.

GP had already done blood tests (hormones and everything) and sperm test. I also had to do a chlamydia test with the GP just to make sure that was clear.

It wasn't invasive, no more than a smear and it really only cramped a little while the dye was in.

He also scanned my ovaries at the same time.

It's well worth booking in. 🙂

claireb7rg · 28/09/2020 15:53

To add Im now cd9 and got a flashing smiley yesterday and today on opks. Cheapies still neg though

claireb7rg · 28/09/2020 15:52

We had a talk last night about things. We came to the agreement that we will see what options we have once we see the sub fertility clinic but we probably won't go onto ivf (suspect we won't get funding anyway).

I've been looking into the adoption side of things a lot more and I think it is where we are going to go. I've spoken to a few friends who have adopted and theyve answered some of my questions.

We both agree though that we would rather adopt than not have children. And that will probably involve sibling adoption.

CC81 · 28/09/2020 14:40

Hey all, just catching up (again!).

I think AF is about to start. No shock there! It's CD24 today and I've had a tiny bit of spotting in the last 24 hours. At least it's still regular, eh?! :P

@selina37 - Did you do the tubes test via the NHS? How invasive was it? Hope you don't mind me asking! As there's still a chance (however small) for us to conceive naturally, it makes sense to check that mine are working properly (as everything else seems to be). x

@Sleeeeeepy - Thanks for your support - I really appreciate it. x

@Internetaddictgirl - Really sorry to hear what you're going through. If it helps, from what I've learned recently, it's generally easier to solve problems with luteal phase (progesterone etc.) than it is to fix problems with conception. Fingers crossed for progress with your GP. x

@claireb7rg - I've also tried to take a step back recently. I still find these forums very helpful, but I need to control how intensively I'm thinking about the issue. x

I've been trying to focus on other areas of life that I enjoy; and think about moving on with our lives if we're not successful.

I'm also looking into counselling by a fertility specialist, to help me work through my feelings and potential choices. Things should start to get clearer once the private clinic presents us with a potential 'treatment plan' and the associated costs.

Internetaddictgirl · 28/09/2020 11:13

Thanks guys. Just had a call with the gp and they said to monitor bleeding and if it goes on for a long time past a normal period, to come in and see them and to do a pregnancy test in a couple of days to make sure it’s negative. Such a shame xx
