We are all in the draw until AF arrives! Wink

Sleeeeeepy · 23/08/2020 19:42

@CurlyNo2 That sounds promising! If I had a longer cycle I'd take mine as good, but it's likely just the lead up to AF as I tend to have a good few days cramping beforehand. Boooooo

Hello everyone, thanks for the encouragement. Feeling lots better at the moment. AF arrived so I had some cola as a treat.

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye it sounds like you've been on a bit of a rollercoaster, but your plans sound exciting!
@mouldygrapes I'm going to give acupuncture a try too, never had it before.

Question - if you have light spotting for a couple of days before AF would you count them as day 1&2? or start counting from when you're properly on? First couple of cycles I counted them as d1 and d2, the last one I decided to wait (so d1 was a couple of days after I started spotting). Doesn't affect me checking for ovulation but would affect my cycle length (from say 27 down to 25 days). Just interested as this cycle I spotted for a day, then spotted way less for a day, like barely anything.

Feels like such a schoolgirl question! Shouldn't we get told this stuff when we're 13? Confused Smile

CurlyNo2 · 23/08/2020 19:11

Hi @Sleeeeeepy we must have ovulated the same time as I'm also 8dpo. I've been having some niggling cramps, dizziness and backache. I have 28 day cycle so AF not due for another 9 days. I can't remember if I had any early symptoms with my son. All I have done today is eat, can't satisfy my hunger!
Hope everyone is OK x

mouldygrapes · 23/08/2020 14:13

Great to hear all is well @lastditchattempt20.
Acupuncture got cancelled as FIL was rushed into hospital and it was all a bit of a panic. He’s fine tho.
Rescheduled for Thurs, altho I’m a bit annoyed as that is around ov time and I wanted to get 2 sessions in before then. Ah well, so be it

LT103 · 23/08/2020 13:16

@lastditchattempt20 must have been exciting to see it. Hope all goes well for you 😁

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 13:12

@LT103 I've had a few scans already for various reasons 🤦🏼‍♀️ private scan yesterday showed all as it should be and heard heartbeat ☺️ Still anxious though.

Hayleywoody82 · 23/08/2020 13:09

Hi @lastditchattempt20 good to hear from you.
Im do glad all going well. keep us updated xx

LT103 · 23/08/2020 13:03

@lastditchattempt20 glad everything is going well so far! Are you going to get an early scan? Or just wait a few weeks for the 12 week scan! It’s exciting. Hope lots more of us can join you over there soon!!

Sleeeeeepy · 23/08/2020 12:07

@lastditchattempt20 So glad all is going well for you 😊

I'm 8dpo but have short cycles and starting to feel cramps which is kind of depressing. Still AF due Thursday so at least I never have to wait that long to find out for sure 😬

Old ovaries, new lines www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3978735-old-ovaries-new-lines

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 11:53

Hi all- popping back up again from thread 2 to say if anyone would like to join the grad group for BFPs over 35 'old ovaries new lines' Grin then please do. There's only 5 of us so far so it's nice and cosy- most are due in April so far but it's nice to share the additional issues/worries that pregnancy over 35 unfortunately can bring. Will try and link thread.
Hi to the names I recognise. Hope you're feeling positive. I turn 40 in a couple of weeks and am 7w 4d now- still worried every day but grateful to be where I am. Baby dust to all!

selina37 · 23/08/2020 09:52

Hey @ShouldEyeShouldntEye I'd like to say don't worry, but it's the kind of thing I'd think about too 🤔 I know douching isn't good as like you say, it can upset the bacteria/PH balance. The swimmers however should be way up in your tubes and I doubt water will penetrate the cervix.
Maybe though, weigh up any small risk and enjoy your time in the sea with your children... x

Sleeeeeepy · 23/08/2020 09:50

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye Assuming (since you have kids!) you're dtd at night then I'd have thought the swimmers would have headed up into the uterus way before you go in the sea. I'd just keep enjoying your trip 😊x

Thanks for all your kind welcomes.

Can I ask a really stupid question? I think I will ovulate in next 48 hours. Would you avoid sea swimming in that time? We are on holiday and I’m in the sea loads with the kids. Suddenly I am worried that I’m having a massive salt water douche every few hours and any swimmers waiting for ovulation might be rinsed our whole the general PH balance may also be impacted. Am I being paranoid?

LT103 · 22/08/2020 19:43

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye welcome to the thread! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been heartbreaking! Fingers crossed you get another little one!!

selina37 · 22/08/2020 16:47

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye Hello! Sorry for your loss 😔 wishing you all the best for another little one xx

Sleeeeeepy · 22/08/2020 16:35

ShouldEyeShouldntEye · 22/08/2020 08:49

Hi All,

Can I join?

A bit about me. I just turned 42. DH is 47. We have three kids aged 13, 11 and 8. We were all done with having kids. Then in lockdown I accidentally got pregnant. It was a huge shock and at first I thought it was a disaster. Then we had a scan, saw a little heartbeat, told the kids, got excited and realised we were really happy. Then the baby died and it was a missed miscarriage and I had to have a D&C 6 weeks ago.

I’ve now had another period and we have decided to go crazy and actually try again. I think I ovulate this week so we have just started making a real effort. I’m scared to try, excited to try and everything in between.

I can’t talk to anyone in RL about this as they will think we are mad when we have three older kids and nice settled lives and careers. So I thought I’d join this thread if that’s ok. Nice to meet you all.

CC81 · 22/08/2020 08:28

@LT103 - Yes, if you're over 35 they say 6 months. But if you think something might be wrong, then it's wise to get tests sooner.

I had spotting pre-period in a few cycles earlier this year, but my progesterone was fine on a recent test (44 at day 21 - very like yours, @SnowWhite1985!).

@PrintingProblems - Definitely sounds like you need support with the stress. Work can be such a pain - it's so unfair. Have you looked into alternative therapies etc?

LT103 · 21/08/2020 18:29

I came off the pill at the start of the year and started trying in March sort of but we weren’t tracking and I don’t think we’re doing things at right time. This is cycle 4 of properly trying. I got d21 progesterone last month as I’d been spotting loads and I asked for it to be checked. the doctor checked other stuff too but it would have been the wrong timing. I was going to wait another 2-3 months and if nothing has happened by them I’d call them back. They say 6 months I think, is that right?

CC81 · 21/08/2020 17:35

@LT103 - Only since the start of the year, so not too bad really - and I think we've only got it 'right' about half the time (plus the stress of lockdown, etc).

I've just had a feeling that my body isn't quite 'in balance' and so had tests done... and got an FSH result of 15.9 last week, which massively freaked me out! Other results all normal.

How about you?

LT103 · 21/08/2020 17:12

@CC81 that sounds encouraging and at least there is a plan in place. How long have you been ttc?
