Hi, My period was due 3 days ago but hasn’t arrived, I have however had lower back pains and felt a bit twingy. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and this morning and both were negative. I’ve been looking at lot online about this and some people have said to try another test in a few days as the test may not be detecting the hcg in my urine but do u think I would need to go and see my doctor due to my period not starting? I’m just worried it may be some underlying problem. My periods prior to this were normal at 27/27 days. We have been trying for a baby for the past 3 months. Just need a little advice.

For a minute there I thought I'd written this in my sleep! Also late and usually have a v regular 28 day cycle, am on day 36 now so 12 days late but all negatives so far- been using an app too and it's been spot on! Will keep testing every day or so but going to try and not get obsessive! Good luck!

I’ve been using an ovulating app called glow so I can track when I’m ovulating, I also log my periods on it, I did this for my first little one and he’s 20 months now :) thank you, will not contact doc then and wait a little while longer, I will test again in a few days and see how I go and if worse comes to worse will keep trying @JTB123 congratulations Smile lovely news!

It's impossible to know if you're late unless you know when you ovulated and how long your luteal phase is (the period of time between ovulation and your period starting).

It's very possible that you ovulated later then usual so your expected period date will be later than usual. If you are pregnant then it's also very possible that you could have implanted late and therefore your HCG levels are still quite low so you're still showing as a BFN.

I wouldn't contact your GP, 3 days isn't very late. I think GPs normally get involved once your period has been missing for at least 60 days or so.

You're definitely not out until your period arrives so keep testing if you want to as they could turn into a BFP like the PP's did. Fingers crossed for you that it does! Smile
